You tread across shifting sands, paw pads burning on the scorched earth. You’re panting excessively; it’s incredibly hot and you haven’t had water for days. You thought that you would have found some sort of safe haven from this blasted desert by now, but alas, you seem to have been wrong. And now, you’re too physically drained to turn back the way you came. Just… a little… farther… Your thoughts start to blur alongside your vision, and before you realize it you’re sprawled across the hot sand, lacking the strength to continue. You can’t afford to exert the energy to try and stand, so instead you let yourself succumb to sleep, eyes blinking slower and slower until blackness consumes your vision. In the midst of darkness, you feel something prod your side, and weakly you open your eyes, craning your head to identify what’s bothering you. The first thing you notice is that the sun has been replaced by a navy sky full of stars. The second, is that the source of the prod is a red cat, whose orange eyes seem to glow in the night. They see you stir, and you are surprised to hear the smooth voice of a she-cat from her maws. “Ahhh, so you do live! I was curious, seeing as you haven’t moved since you got here. And you’re really starting to stink like the dead, as well.” She mused, orange eyes sparkling with laughter. “Obviously you’re in need of care. Can you stand on your own?” She asks, taking a step back and tilting her head. You try, but fail, collapsing back to the ground. The she-cat shakes her head, and turns around, letting out a shrill yowl. You flinch against the sound, pinning your ears. After inquiring why that was necessary, she grins. Two large cats appear, and she instructs them to lift you and carry you back to camp. “This one’s a survivor.” She nods with a smile, looking at you with those bright orange eyes. “Oh, and before you pass out again, I’m Heart of the Red Sun. Welcome to the Tribe of Scorching Winds.” Then, just as she predicted, you black out once more.
The Tribe of the Scorching Winds was created many, many seasons ago, when cats of various other Tribes were exiled around the same time for unrelated reasons. Banished from their homes and the surrounding areas, the cats banded together, and journeyed far, following the path of the sun. They had hoped to find a land filled with water, but before they could arrive grew weary. The barren lands took their toll on the group, and the eldest and youngest cats perished. The group pressed on, determined to reach better lands although their strength was failing. Just when their leader, a cat appropriately called Sunchaser, thought the rest of the group would die of dehydration, they came across a pool of surprisingly cool water. The water replenished the cats’ strength, which they used to scour the area for shelter from the scorching sun and fierce winds. They discovered an area covered with large red rocks, many of which leaned against each other in ways that formed protective, den-like spaces. Fearful for his cats’ lives, Sunchaser ended his quest, and settled his group in that very spot. They became the Tribe of Scorching Winds, named for the ferocious conditions in which they endured to make it to their new home. Since the founding of the Tribe, the cats have adapted well to their territory. They have thick pads meant to withstand heat and sharp rocks, as well as typically thinner coats. Many of the cats would choose to be active during the night rather than the day to conserve energy, however this is also when the biggest predators lurk about, so excessive nighttime activity is limited.
- Camp - Large circular area of rather soft earth. Many large red rocks scattered about. A good number of these rocks lean against one another, providing shelter. Some even connect through smaller tunnels that the cats have dug into the earth below rocks over time. The largest of these dens is shared by Sentinels and Wayfinders. One of the smaller, connected dens houses the Novices. On the opposite side of Camp, is another large den, adorned with roots along its inner walls from the desert flowers that grow in the cracks of the rocks. This den belongs to the Matriarchs and their kits. Attached to their den is a shallow but long den, where the Ancients reside. In the back of the Camp, a medium-sized den, separated into two by a wall of loose roots, is the residence of the Tribe-Seer and Tribe-Tactician. A Charlotte’s phacelia grows beside this den. The Camp is a spot where flora flourishes, be it flowers, cacti, desert cedars, or other trees accustomed to the heat. This is likely because of the stable soil, as well as the closeness of the Lifepool. Either way, the vegetation attracts prey, as well as provides for herbs and extra shade.
- Lifepool - The surprisingly cool pool of water that is the lifesource of the Tribe. It is the only known source of water for days, and all the animals of the area depend on it as well as the Tribe. It is also used by the Tribe-Seer during the Full Moon to communicate with the ancestors.
- Shifting Sands - The most dangerous part of the desert which outskirts the northwestern portion of the territory. It is very windy here, with little life. Any cat known to stray too far into these lands has not returned.
- Redlands - The main area of the territory. It is mostly compacted dirt, both red, brown and all shades between, with lots of sharp rocks scattered about. There is the occasional lonely flower, but plenty of sagebrush and cacti. These water-filled plants attract many types of prey, but also larger predators.
- Drybrush - The southeastern patch of the territory. It contains the largest number of cacti and weeds around, besides the Lifepool, and covers a rather large area. Prairie dog burrows lace this area, making it a fairly reliable source of prey. Occasionally, one will also stumble upon a rabbit or burrowing owl. Although it is abundant with prey, it is one of the farthest corners of the territory, meaning a trek there and back, loaded down with prey, would take a whole day’s hunting.
- Chasm Falls - The western portion of the territory and beyond. It is laced with slot canyons, beautiful gorges that are easily jumped across, but incredibly deep and deceptively dangerous. While the canyons are fun to explore, in the event of rainfall they are susceptible to flash floods, and since they have limited entrances and exits it is not uncommon for victims of floods to drown. Rain is not common most of the season, however in scorch-sun it does monsoon, therefore making this the most dangerous time to be near the Chasm Falls.

RULES
1.Be kind, treat others the way you wish to be treated. 2. No god-modding, powerplaying, or perfect characters. An apprentice cannot take down a fox in one hit on their own! Do not rp other rpers cats in battle either. 3. Try to equalize the amount of toms and she-cats you have when you join. 4. If you want to rp a very in depth plot, you must ask ♥Snowfire♥ or Rainwatcher to check if your plot is acceptable to the rp! 5. No graphic gore or other things, nothing over pg-13 please! 6. No unrealistic coloring. There will be no rainbow cats or rainbow eyes or blood red pelts please. Be creative with realistic designs, patterned cats are quite lovely, no? 7.No killing unless the other player has approved. You may kill off your own characters if you wish though. 8. If you are super inactive and don't mention it to me (Rainwatcher) or Snowfire you will be booted from the Tribe, I will store your cats in a google document should you return. 9. Please refer to the Other category of the Lore and follow the naming convention, if the name does not follow we will ask that you please change it. 10. You must ask to make a wanderer or a cat that was formerly a wanderer. We need more tribe born cats. 11. Read around for the code word. Hint: The font color isn't white. PM me or Snowfire if you really need help finding it. (I reserve the right to change, edit, and add to these rules at any time.)

RANKSTribe-SeerThe Tribe’s spiritual leader. They have slightly more influence than the Tribe-Tactician. The Seer is the interpreter and receiver of visions. They are also the acting healer of the Tribe. The Seer is the keeper of history and passes on the stories of the tribe. They promote Novices to the Masters of their practiced role. They choose the next Tribe-Seer and Tribe-Tactician. They receive three lives from the Tribe of Eternal Plenty upon becoming Tribe-Seer. Tribe-Seers are allowed mates. Must be Tribe-born, no exceptions. (We ain't havin' no Firestars 'round these parts)Tribe-TacticianThe Tribe’s strategic leader. They oversee patrols and take care of issues with threats, with permission and good-will of the Tribe-Seer. They also assign Novices to Masters. They receive six lives from the Tribe of Eternal Plenty upon becoming Tribe-Tactician. Tribe-Tacticians are allowed mates. Usually Tribe-born, but exceptions can be made. Wayfinders Often the swiftest of cats. Their job is to provide food for the Tribe, as well as do reconnaissance for any possible sources of water other than Lifepool. Sentinels Motto: Keep your eyes on the Skies
The larger, more sturdily built cats. They act as guards of the cats and the Camp, either standing watch at the Camp or heading out with Wayfinders in case of an attack. NovicesYoung cats over six moons who are still learning the art of their trade. They follow their Masters closely, absorbing every detail they can. Once their Masters and the Tribe-Tactician find them ready, they undergo an evaluation, and the Tribe-Seer advances them into their next rank should s/he see fit. MatriarchsShe-cats expecting or nursing kits. AncientsElderly Wayfinders, Sentinels and Matriarchs, now retired. Wanderers Cats that have no home. Those that are exiles or those who are not members of the Tribe. Ancestors Motto: Everyone dies twice. Once, when the Tribe buries you. The final time, when they forget your name.
Cats of the Tribe who no longer walk the earth. They watch over the living, providing omens, prophecies, and wisdom. They dwell in the Tribe of Eternal Plenty. At least the good cats do. Those who were evil, deceitful, and disloyal in life go to the Tribe of Ceaseless Sands. (See the 'Other Notes' for more details on these places) PROMOTIONS AND CEREMONIES Tribe-Seers/Tacticians Are Novices chosen by the active Tribe-Seer with the input of the active Tribe-Tactician. This cat can be a novice who is already working with another master to be a wayfinder or sentinel. A combination of skill sets, personality and the guidance or omens from the Tribe of Eternal Plenty also guide this choice. They become the Novice of the Tribe-Seer or Tribe-Tactician. They take up the role once their Master has died. They don’t have to be chosen at the same time. The ceremony is usually very large and all cats are usually present no matter what. The Tribe-Seer will announce the new Tribe-Seer/Tactician Novice. The respective cat will then accept his or her Novice and agree to train them. Wayfinders/SentinelsAre Novices promoted by the Tribe-Seer when they have passed the test and their Master and Tribe-Tactician agrees that their Novice is ready. The ceremony is announced by the Tribe-Tactician (overseen by the Tribe-Seer) where the Master will praise their Novice and there is a short celebration for the new Wayfinder/Sentinel. Novices Are Kits who are at least six moons old. In their ceremony, which is announced by the Tribe-Seer, most the talking is done by the Tribe-Tactician. The Tribe-Tactician will have already spoken to the Master and will assign the Novice to their Master in front of the Tribe, where they will accept their Master or Novice. AncientsAre Wayfinders/Sentinels/Matriarchs that have served the Tribe well and are retired to rest for the remainder of their lives. The aging cat can approach the Tribe-Seer and request the ceremony be performed should the Tribe-Tactician consent. The ceremony is short but respectful, with the Tribe-Seer gathering the Tribe and announcing this change. They new Ancient is also invited to share a story with their tribemates Death Ceremony When a cat dies it is customary to share-tongues one last time with the fallen Tribe member. Several of the cat’s closest friends may watch over the body of their friend until morning when the fallen cat’s spirit will have found the star path. Their body is then buried. SEASONSSnow-MeltEquivalent to spring. When the snows that fall in Snow-Fall finally disappear, if any did fall, and the temperatures start to return to normal. Scorch-SunEquivalent of summer. The monsoon period occurs during the start of this season, and the sun beats down harshly on the land the rest of the time. Chill-WindEquivalent to autumn. The weather starts to cool back down, with the occasional drizzle of rain, or maybe even a premature snow. Snow-FallEquivalent of winter. The weather becomes incredibly cold, even in the day. Although rare, the snow is somewhat excessive, often covering the entirety of the Redlands in the event it does fall. The code word is 'Eagle eyes'OTHER NOTES>>OTHER TRIBES<< Tribe of Eternal Plenty
The place where the good cats go. In appearance it looks much like the life pool. In fact it is the lifepool. But in the stars. When the seer walks into the pool and opens their eyes, the lifepool and surrounding areas are much more lush and littered with star dust. The cats here are healthy and happy. Their pelts glitter with stars, and they have everything they could ever need. There is prey here for them and they are honored by their living descendants. It is a beautiful starry oasis. Tribe of Ceaseless Sands
The place where the bad cats go. Those who were evil, disloyal, and deceitful in life go here. Together, The tribe leaders and the tribe of eternal plenty have the power to banish cats here. It is perpetually night here and there is nothing but sand dunes for miles around. There is no moon and there are no stars. No prey skitters here and the cats here keep the wounds that (may have) caused their deaths. It is always windy and the sands constantly shift. This place is torment for eternity. They pray their descendants forget them so that their spirits can disappear. >> NAMES<< Tribe cats typically have names consisting of four to six words, typically describing an element of nature. (EX: Chases the Setting Golden Sun) These names are abbreviated by callnames, or one of the words in their name. This callname is almost exclusively the first part of the name (EX: “Rain that Floods the Earth” would be “Rain”) unless it was a historical figure and/or highly revered cat that even Ancestors honor. (EX: “Sunchaser”) if you need help coming up with a name Snow and I would be more than happy to help you! Please do your best to follow this naming pattern.>> NPCS<< These cats are indicated by a ◎ symbol. They're basically cats you can create to just fill space in the tribe. You don't really want to play these cats or develop their stories, they merely add to the story of a cat you do want to play! (Ex. Squall is the father of two of my characters, but I have no current plans to develop or use him, he just adds to their story.) You can mention them in your RPs, use them in patrols, even talk to them. Just keep them in character if you are going to use them. If you create an NPC character please DM them to me (Rainwatcher) or ♥Snowfire♥ for review I'll tag them with your name!

(Tribe of Scorching Winds) (Pictured left to right: Heart, Sun, Gale, Wind. Art done by me! [Rainwatcher])Tribe-Seer
Sun That Lights Horizon (Sun)~ Sun is a lanky tom with a medium length, ruddy fur. The fur on his tail is much longer (bottle brush). He has a triangular face and dirt red nose. His eyes are a pale green dotted with yellow. He can be a bit imposing or intimidating. He doesn't mean to be that way. His demeanor is usually calm and collected. He is extremely in tune with his Tribe members, as well as his ancestors. He is well rounded in his knowledge but is a particularly talented healer. He always rises before the sun. He likes to watch it breach the horizon. He also finishes all his duties before the sun sets for the same reason. They say if you see one you have seen them all, but Sun believes that each is unique and special. Sun is personable, easy to talk to and well liked by the tribe. He is fair, but believes in justice. Even though he has been Tribe-Seer for a few seasons he is unsure about his ability to lead. He has no siblings. His parents are Willow and Thunder. (Rainwatcher)Tribe-Tactician Heart of the Red Sun (Heart)~ russet-red she-cat with bright orange eyes. She has a white spot on her chin, and her toes are white. Her fur is short, but soft. Heart appears to be a very sweet, and is, often straying towards flirty. She laughs a lot, and her voice is smooth as silk. However, these outer qualities do anything but define her. Heart is intelligent and cunning, always thoroughly thinking through situations that will most positively affect her Tribe. She can’t afford to be reckless, as a wrong move in the Redlands means death. Despite this, she’s still fiery, and yet remarkably even-tempered. Her brother is Savage. (♥Snowfire♥)Wayfinders Flower Budding on Small Cactus (Flower)~ A long legged, tan furred she-cat with brown point accents. One eye is a dull yellow, while the other is a striking blue. Her tail is incredibly long, which helps her balance on thin surfaces and run faster than normal. Adventurous, curious, quick to make a decision, firey, unwise. Her calling is the open space the great dessert provides her. The tribe is important, of course, but her real loyalty lies to the land (mourningdove)
Dawn of Sun Swept Skies (Dawn)~ A sandy colored tabby she-cat with bright blue eyes that look the color of a dawn sky. Her fur is short and she has long legs and a torn ear. She is serious, dedicated and very aggressive when pushed, preferring to get her work done as best as she can. She's not one to play and run around. An excellent hunter, her pelt blends in great with the sand. Dawn was raised by her mother after her father abandoned the tribe. Hatred of that day runs in her veins and she's been cold ever since. (Moonblazer)
Rose of a Distant Desert (Rose)~ A dark, rusty ginger she-cat with bright green eyes and a white muzzle and paws. Her fur is soft and medium-length and she is rather small.Rose is seemingly innocent and kind, but there's a mischievous and fearless part of her that makes her quite the vengeful cat when bothered or embarrassed. She's got a positive ambition to make friends and be the best she can be. Her innocence is a charade. Don't always trust that. Rose joined the tribe as a young cat, learned from her teachers and became a Wayfinder. (Moonblazer)
Owl wing on Silent Wind (Owl)~ His pelt is short and feathery, his tail fur is a bit longer. He is mostly brown, he has faint tabby spotting and has a creamy face and underbelly. His ears are on the small side and his face is very round. He has large, yellow eyes, his night vision is excellent and his hearing is superior. He has a quieter personality. Owl does as he is told and follows order’s efficiently and effectively. He follows the rules very closely and never bends them. He’s also very sweet and is gentle at heart. He was recently promoted from Novice to Wayfinder. Owl isn’t the best hunter ever but he does his best so his tribemates don’t have to go hungry. His brother is Peak.(Rainwatcher)
Wish of the Fallen (Wish)~ Long-furred white she-cat with blue eyes and a scar on her nose (she doesn't remember how she got the scar). Wish is very cheerful and still acts like a kit sometimes, chasing after things that might catch her interest. Sometimes other cats have to be careful not to let her wander too far. She was named in honor of her father, who had died a few days before she was born. As a kit she nearly died in a flood near Chasm Falls after wandering from the camp, and managed to survive. Since then, she has wondered about the world beyond the tribe's territory and what lives there. Her dreams often have cats from the Tribe of Eternal Plenty whispering to her but she doesn't know what they mean and keeps it secret because she fears it means something she might not want to face (such as becoming the Tiribe-Seer). (leopardfire)
Streak of Lightning Against Black Skies (Streak) ~ pale grey tabby tom with thick, dark black stripes. His fur is short and coarse, which matches his long, thing build. His eyes are bright yellow, and often shine with mischief. This tom is on the younger side of the seasons, and has a knack for sarcastic remarks. He’s quick to use his wit to try and cheer up the weary or heavy-hearted. He’s not the best hunter in the world, but he tries his best, and has a quip for every fumble. Streak is much better at scouting than anything, as he’s extremely quick and doesn’t tire easily. (♥Snowfire♥)
◎Gust Blown Through Canyon (Gust)~ a dusty looking she-cat with a longer than average tail. Her size is generally average though her paws are quite large. She is a bit awkward but has good intentions. Can be distant and works better alone. A skilled Wayfinder mother of Wind and Gale. Mate to Squall. (NPC c/b Rainwatcher)SentinelsSavage Thrash of Coyote (Savage)~ dark cream-colored tom with dull brown eyes and a rusty-brown tint to the ends of his medium-length fur. He has a white underbelly and black toes on his front paws. Savage is large in size, although a little slimmer built. He has incredibly large paws and a slight overbite. Because of this overbite, he’s quieter, and typically doesn’t speak unless spoken to. Savage is not cruel however, and does enjoy being around his Tribemates, and can often be found chuckling at his sister’s witty remarks. He takes his job as a Sentinel very seriously, and not a soul can distract him from his job, or at least he thinks so. (♥Snowfire♥)
Skull of dead Fox (Fox)~ An average sized she-cat with a reddish orange fur, and an all white face. A gnarly scar runs across her muzzle. Her eyes are yellow, and she has larger paws than what's expect of her size. Sometimes they trip her up, but they aid her in fighting. Outgoing, confident, energetic, gets caught up in the moment, not very intelligent, a follower. Born and raised in the tribe, this is the only home she has ever known. (mourningdove)
Black Moon at Night (Black)~ Large tom with gray fur and black points. His front left paw is white, while the others remain black. His nose is a bright pink which stands out with his amber eyes. He has thick fur, which does help to keep him cool in the hot days. Loyal, stoic, quiet, guarded, caring, slow to be comfortable around someone. coming to the tribe as a kit found alone in the desert, he has no family, but still feels strong ties to the tribe and would die to insure its safety. (mourningdove)
Vulture that Picks From Bone (Vulture)~A large and muscular smoky brown tom with multiple scars and sharp amber eyes. This tom is easily annoyed, stern and protective of his tribe, standing like a wall with his large body. He has a very deep voice and rather ugly scars from many battles and dangers he's been in. Treat him good though, and he can be a real loyal friend.Born from two Sentinels who died early in his life. (Moonblazer)
◎Squall that Brings Sudden Rain (Squall)~ a larger grey tom who is a proud cat and stands up to any cat. If he doesn’t like it he lets every cat know about it. He always voices his opinions. He never lets himself get pushed around. Probably would fight you. He laughs a lot. Dedicated sentinel. Father of Gale and Wind. Mate to Gust. (NPC c/b Rainwatcher)
◎Peak in Shrouding Mist (Peak)~ A bigger grey tom, he has faint striped tabby markings. He has a white muzzle, underbelly, and tail tip. He also has two front white paws. His eyes are a pale green-yellow and seem to be shallow. He is gruff and a bit of a bully. He uses his size as an advantage and sometimes pushes wayfinders and novices around and calls it teasing. It doesn’t seem to be escalating beyond that. His brother is Owl. Peak is a recently promoted Sentinel. (NPC c/b Rainwatcher)Novices
>>Wayfinders<< Twister Swirling over Desert (Twister) ~ A young tom with a ginger pelt that has darker ginger stripes running down his spine and ringing around his tail. He has a wide face with a small muzzle, the combination of the two features creating an odd, yet adorable look for Twister. His legs are bulky and muscular, although the rest of his body is bereft of any brawny attributes. Twister’s fur is short and coarse, his tail is long and thin and his paws are abnormally small for his size. Twister is an exuberant cat, very bouncy and full of energy. He rarely sleeps, but it does not bother him or seem to diminish the energy he has in the morning. Twister is very adventurous and curious, he loves to go out of camp and explore. He is a bit of a hooligan, he often misbehaves and disobeys orders from his master. Despite his lawbreaking behavior, Twister only wants to have fun and means no harm from his mischievous conduct. Twister was born in the tribe and raised by his mother, Oasis where Rabbits Rest (Oasis). He was born with 2 brothers and a sister, but they died before Twister reached novice age. Oasis favored and encouraged her sole-surviving son, who appreciated his mother’s help. Twister was heartbroken when his mother fell ill, and mourned her death for moons when she succumbed to her ailment. (acrimony) Rain That Falls In Storm (Rain)~ Rain That Falls In Storm is a blue-gray she-cat with white paws and blue eyes. Rain is that cat next door. She is calm, respectful, quiet and blends in to the background. Rain was born in a litter of four kits in this tribe. Sadly, two of those four died before they were named. The surviving sibling was a boy named Hawk That Calls in Fierce Winds (Hawk) Rain can be quite sensitive to insults, but luckily, not many come her way. (missmisty) >>Sentinels<< Gale that Lifts Eagle Wings (Gale)~ a young tom whose demeanor is cool and disinterested. He is a bit on the larger size, and always has been. Gale has average length fur that is a stormcloud grey. He has dark points on his face, paws and tail. His back is also quite dark. A burst of white breaks the grey on his chest. Several of his toes are also white. His blue eyes are sharp and alive with a calculating air, though they are not dark one might say they are akin to flint. Gale is quiet and prefers to think before acting. He’s always watching and seems to absorb every detail around him very quickly. When he was younger he would often sit and let his sister pounce on him and try to tackle him. He never budged from his place. His parents are Gust and Squall, Wind is his sister. (Rainwatcher)
Wind that Stirs the Sands (Wind)~ a young average-sized sandy colored she-cat with darker points (Face, paws tail), she has a white chin and chest. Her green-blue eyes are alight with a constant spirit of competition. Wind is always moving and raring to go. Everything is fast for her and her attention is never in one place for long. She is never really focused, unless she starts a fight. She is always ready to focus on those. She is also always ready to fight. As a kit her parents spent a lot of time chasing after her. Wind was always escaping and going on and adventure. Gale always told on her whenever she left. She tried to beat him up, but he never fought back! Her parents are Gust and Squall, Gale is her brother. (Rainwatcher)Hawk That Calls In Fierce Winds (Hawk)~ Hawk is a light brown tom with darker tabby stripes with creamy white paws, muzzle and belly. Hawk is a joker, and a real ladies' man. He's extremely protective of his sister, Rain That Falls In Storm, and will do anything to keep her safe. Hawk was born in a litter of four kits in this tribe. Sadly, two of those four died before they were named. The surviving sibling was a she-kit named Rain That Falls In Storm (Rain). (missmisty) Matriarchs◎Mist in the Early Morning (Mist)~ A bi-color she-cat who seems to be living in a state of indifference. Her blue eyes are glazed over and depressed. It seems she isn’t all there. He fur is medium length and her tail is fluffy and sweeping. Her markings are pied, she is mostly creamy white but has splotches of grey tabby, Primarily on her flank, tail, face, and shoulder. She is despondent and rarely talks to any cat. It’s likely caused by two miscarriages and recent loss of her mate, Sting. She doesn’t seem to gain any joy from her surviving kits, Lizard and Shade (NPC c/b Rainwatcher)
Arid Lands of No Water (Arid) ~A piebald patterned she-cat, splotches and daubs of white smearing her dusky cream coat. She has blue eyes, similar in hue to the sky on a cloudless day. She is rather thin for a pregnant cat, with lanky legs and a lofty frame. Arid is rather tall, though despite her height she is not at all brawny. Her fur is abnormally fluffy for such hot weather, but it sheds in large amounts so it does not overwhelm Arid. Her beauty is rather simple, there is nothing too spectacular about her features. Her muzzle is average size, with large and pointy ears and almond-shaped eyes. Arid is generally very timid, she is cautious around strangers and is fretful in frightening situations. She is a craven, unfortunately, and refuses to participate in battle or guarding camp. Arid fears for the safety of her unborn litter, and, despite being cowardly, is willing to risk everything for them. She is typically very venomous to those she does not trust, though towards friends she will behave. Arid only recently joined the Tribe of Scorching Winds, she was found alone, collapsed just past the border of Shifting Sands. She lost her mate, named Eagle that Flies at Noon (Eagle), and is devastated at the loss. When the tribe found Arid and brought her to camp, she became very hysterical frightened to be surrounded by complete strangers. It was then she realized the absence of her mate, and insisted that the Tribe of Scorching Winds find him immediately. He has not been heard from since. (acrimony) Kits Sand caught in Tawny Pelt (Tawny)~ A she-cat, with a brown pelt, and a black underbelly, paws, tailtip, chest, and inner ear fur. She has a sleek, slender, slim build, and bright green eyes. Personality: Tawny is brave, sweet, kind, caring, and can be enthusiastic, outgoing, and energetic at times, but mostly keeps herself to herself. She tries not to show it, but has very low self-esteem. She really, really, REALLY doesn't fare well in stressful situations! She is a Wanderer, but wants to join a group of some sort. Tawny was born to a brown tabby she-cat named Fern, along with her brothers, Tiger, Moon, and Dark, and her sister, Feather. They were born in a forest, however, when she was 1 moon old, this all changed. When she was 1 moon old, the forest was torn down, and her family were moved to a different place. Tiger, Moon, and Dark were split up from Fern, Tawny, and Feather during this time, although, they later found them again. This period was very stressful, and put strain on the small family. When they managed to escape the Twolegs, Tawny and her mother and siblings found themselves in the desert. Within a few days, Tiger and Dark had died of a mixture of heatstroke, and dehydration. Fern urged Tawny, Feather, and Moon to leave her, and find a group, but they refused to, caring for their sickly mother day and night. However, one day, when they were three moons old, the two sisters woke up to find their mother and brother missing. They set off into the desert to find them, but, one day, they were separated by a sandstorm, and Tawny's been trying to find her family ever since...Tawny loves the taste of sap, for some reason. (Sparkly)
◎Lizard Basking in Sunlight (Lizard)~ Son of Mist. Sibling of Shade. Lizard is a short-haired, dark brown cat with a lighter muzzle, tail tip, and all four of his paws are also light. His eyes are pale yellow and seem to be thoughtful. He often looks like he is daydreaming. He’s a bit on the lazy side. He likes to lie around most the day rather than play with his sister, Shade. He’s still a kit and kits always play sometimes. He doesn’t really understand why his mother isn’t happy and sometimes brings her red pebbles and little leaves to make her happy. There's a decent sized pile in the corner of the nursery. (NPC c/b Rainwatcher)
◎Shaded Hollow Under Leaning Rocks (Shade)~ Daughter of Mist. Sibling of Lizard. She is a dark darks storm grey, nearly black cat. Her eyes are orange and bright. A bouncy little kit, Shade really loves playing, chasing, and pouncing on everything. Her energy seems endless and she runs circles around her brother. The Ancients say she stole all of her energy from her brother and then some. She seems oblivious to her mother’s mental state and clambers all over her and pounces on her tail. Shade just wants to play. She helps Lizard find pebbles for her. (NPC c/b Rainwatcher)Ancients Song of Frightened Rattlesnake (Song)~ pale brown she-cat with black swirled tabby markings. She has yellow eyes with green streaks surrounding the pupils. She is a kind cat at heart, however more often displays her bitter, witty side. A former Wayfinder, she isn’t necessarily loved by the Tribe. Adoptive mother of Heart and Savage. (♥Snowfire♥)
Moon of the Night Sky (Moon)~ Long-furred white she-cat with blue eyes, and a scar on her tail. She has very mild hearing loss. Distant from everyone else in the tribe, she often can be seen looking in the distance. She rarely talks about her former mate and her daughter Wish, but when she does she doesn't talk about it for long. Even talking about them briefly seems to break her heart. Star and Moon grew up together as friends. As time went on, they slowly began to love each other. After the loss of her mate, it changed her forever. She still believes that Star is still alive. She had to become an ancient early at a young age after Wish became a novice. (Leopardfire) ◎Thunder Above Gliding Eagle (Thunder)~ The father of Sun. He is a grey tom with dark points and white paws. He has stormy grey eyes that are fierce but not unkind. Gale looks a lot like and is named after Thunder (They both have Eagle in their full names). The reason being that he is Gale’s great uncle (Squall’s father is Thunder’s brother). He is a stubborn cat and is determined to reach his goals. He used to be a sentinel but a nasty fall in his youth caused his bones to ache a little earlier than he would have liked. He was older when Sun was born. It took him a long time to get Willow to notice his feelings for her. But it all worked out in the end. He hopes to be able to see his beloved again soon, but doesn’t want to abandon his son in mortality just yet. Kits think his stories are boring. (NPC c/b Rainwatcher)
◎Golden Eagle at Dawn (Golden)~ Once a wayfinder and is now an ancient. Golden was a trusted advisor to the former tribe seer, and is well respected in the clan. Novices often come to her for stories. (NPC c/b Dragoness)
◎Spring of Clear Water (Spring)~ Once a wayfinder, now an Ancient. She is the oldest of the current Ancients. She is Heron’s sister. She is a light grey she-cat with a white tail tip, and has a single white paw. Being that she is very old her hearing is poor, her sight is failing her, and her body is weak. But she loves it when any cats come to visit her and she loves to tell stories and legends. Her eyes are deep blue and though nearly sightless, they still hold a special light. (NPC c/b Rainwatcher) Wanderers Miles ~ Grey tom with yellow eyes and a collar that is white with black stripes. He is very independent, he enjoys the world around him and he hates to be locked up indoors and will try to escape to get outdoors by any means necessary. A former kitty pet who went on a trip with his two legs to the desert but got horribly lost. (Leopardfire)○●○●○●○ Quick Paste for Rain [Sentinel novice to ----] [Wayfinder novice to ----] ◎ (Indicates NPC)

>>Tribe of Eternal Plenty<<[See the Other Notes section for more about the Tribes after death] [[Technically all cats here are considered NPCs.]]
Chasing the Faraway Sun (Sunchaser) ~ Sunchaser is a large but lanky cat, with short but thick fiery orange fur and muscular shoulders and haunches. He has slightly darker tabby stripes on his legs, tail and face, and his eyes are a large and bright golden color. A kind cat, sometimes his motives, though for the better, would have dire consequences. He is fiercely determined, and ambitious as all get out. It was he who in his youth first gathered exiles, rogues and wanderers together to travel towards the sun, eventually forming the Tribe of Scorching Winds. After settling down, he realized he could not lead alone, as he had very little connection with the ancestors and knew nothing when it came to herbs, so he split the role of leadership into two. He became the first Tribe-Tactician, and it was a she-cat called Moonrunner that became the first Tribe-Seer. Seasons came and went, and after working so closely together for so long they eventually became mates, and later on had kits of their own. (♥Snowstar♥)
Running to the Highest Moon (Moonrunner)~ She was the first Tribe-Seer. She is long haired she-cat. Her fur is creamy white and is soft and fine. One of her eyes is blue and the other is green, both are very light colored. She is on the smaller side of medium. She is a wise and tender cat. Her voice is light and soft and nice to listen to. She would much rather heal than fight. She is highly attuned to the animals who had passed on. Because her ancestors stayed in her homeland she didn’t have a way to learn about the land, so she learned from the spirits of other creatures. (It has fallen out of practice because there are now cats to communicate with.) She learned in her dreams as she traveled with the fabled Sunchaser. As time progressed their leader realized he couldn’t lead alone and called upon Moonrunner to be his Tribe-Seer. After seasons of working together the two became mates and had kits together. (RainWatcher)
Heron wings over still waters (Heron)~ Preceded Sun as Tribe-Seer. A thin she-cat with a short, pale grey fur. In life Heron was quite cold. She wasn’t unkind but she was very firm. She took no foxdung. Surprisingly she took everything very literally. Even though prophecies and the like are never such. She moves like water and her eyes are like shards of ice, always narrow and sharp. She taught Sun very structurally. She died defending a novice and kit from a pair hawks. Heron walks among the tribe of eternal plenty now, spilling out her knowledge to any cat unlucky enough to be passing by. She gave Sun one of his lives and Blessed him with with the heart to Protect though not his first duty. She gave Heart a life as well, and blessed her to be Patient, from it will come good things. (Rain and Snow)
Boulder that rests in sand (Boulder)~ Preceded Heart as Tribe-Tactician. A broad shouldered, generally large, bulky tom. His fur is medium length and a dark rusty brown. He isn’t much good in the way of words and he’s very clumsy, but his heart is pure and his intentions are always good. He is unexpectedly elegant in battle and has been known to have fought off a coyote or two in his day. He died of an illness in the comfort of his den surrounded by loved ones. He gave heart a life, he gave her Wisdom and to think deeply. (Rain and Snow)
Willow Among Windswept Grass (Willow)~ a small russet she-cat who never had much to say, but whatever she said was kind. Former Wayfinder and Mother of Sun. (Rainwatcher)
Breeze Lost Above Canyon (Breeze)~ red roan she-kit with white undersides, paws, chin, and long whiskers. Big, bright green eyes. She was adventurous and stubborn. Wandered too far from Camp alone, and drowned in the Chasm Falls. Daughter of Heart. (♥Snowfire♥)
Wandering Soul Lost in Light (Wanderer)~Thick-furred cream tom with golden eyes and a stump tail. He has a jet-black chest, front paws, hind toes, chin, blaze, ear tips, ear fluff, and dorsal stripe. He has a large scar on his left shoulder, three scars under his left eye, and scars all over his legs.Brash, humorous and brave, Wanderer was always up for a challenge. He would take on any dare, no matter how obscene or stupid. However, he was also incredibly loyal, and made sacrifices for those he loved. He lived his early life as a wandered (hence his name), but gave up his life as a casanova when he fell maw over paw for a Tribe she-cat - Wing that Glides Over Breeze. They became mates, and soon they had kits. However, their joy did not last. Wing and Wanderer went out hunting without a sentinel, and were attacked by a golden eagle. The bird flew off with Wing, and Wanderer dragged himself back to camp, brokenhearted and wounded. He died the same day, curled around his kits. Mate to Wing. Father of Heart and Savage. (Snowfire)
Wing that Glides Over Breeze (Wing)~Soft-furred, brown-tinted orange she-cat with blue-grey undersides and paws. White tail tip, toes, ear tips, ear fluff, chin, and eyebrows. Mahogany eyes.Quiet and shy, she captivated those around her with her unusual coat and kind heart. Whenever she did speak, it was softly, often with a little nervous giggle. She was kind of carefree, and full of life. Born and raised in the Tribe, she was always fascinated by life outside of it. This was part of the reason she fell for Wanderer, and helped name him to match such. She was killed when a golden eagle attacked and abducted her. Mate to Wanderer. Mother of Heart and Savage. (Snowfire)Sting of Angry Scorpion (Sting)~ A solid dark brown tom. He was a larger cat, he had enormous paws. He has a lot of nicks in his ears and many scars splitting his fur. He has lighter ‘eyebrows’ but those are his only light marks. He really wasn’t that likeable? Sting was generally rude and was cocky. He highly egotistical. (Think classic high school jock). Most of the tribe is really unsure why his mate, Mist loved him so much. He seemed to love her back. Funny how love works sometimes. He died because he got bitten by a young rattlesnake, he was out alone and tried to get home but his body forced him to stop in the shade of a rock. The tribe found him the next morning when he didn’t return home. His mate was heartbroken, and it sent her over the edge. He feels great sorrow for her. (Rainwatcher) Star of the Night (Star)~ Black tom with a scar on his nose and tail, a torn left ear tip, and yellow eyes. He sometimes has trouble sleeping at night. Star is very brave and is not afraid to die in order to protect the tribe. Most of the time he is focused on keeping the tribe safe from any possible dangers or enemies. During times of peace, he enjoys looking at the stars in the night sky. During his time in the tribe, he was a sentinel. He fought hard to protect the territory that the tribe had claimed generations ago as theirs. He died after protecting the tribe from a fierce bobcat a few days before his daughter Wish was born. He went to the Tribe of Eternal Plenty after his death. (Leopardfire) Shade of Fading Day (Shade)~ thin-furred black tom with amber eyes that grew lighter the closer to the pupil you looked. He has a single white splotch on his chest, and a white toe on his hind left leg. His fur is short, as is his temper. Hot-headed, like his mother, he had a tendency to snap at those that annoyed him, or his littermates. This son of Song has a broad build, with short grey whiskers and large ears. While he can be somewhat angry at times, he is compassionate and goofy with his loved ones, and cherishes them dearly. Shade is the son of Song, and brother to Gust. His adoptive siblings are Heart and Savage. He fell victim to the heat while out on patrol as a Sentinel Novice. (Snowfire) Oasis where Rabbits Rest (Oasis)~ Twister's mother. (acrimony) Eagle that Flies at Noon (Eagle)~ Arid's mate. Assumed deceased. (Acrimony) >>Tribe of Ceaseless Sands<< Fire Raging Across Plains (Fire)~ long-furred flame-point she-cat with bright green eyes and a marbled nose. The eldest daughter of Sunchaser and Moonrunner, she always struggled to live up to the leading pair's roles. Fire wasn't exceptionally strong or have a way with words, like her father. Nor did she have a great connection with Ancestors or animals, like her mother. However, she was quick, and cunning - a dangerous mix with her fiery temper. Though, she was desperate to be loved by her Tribe like her parents were, so she feigned a ditsy, giggly persona. This attitude, along with her unique and beautiful coat, attracted a lot of attention from toms, and she became a matriarch at a young age. This infuriated her father, who insisted she be a better rolemodel for the rest of the young she-cats in the Tribe. To Fire's despair, her mother was passive to this event. Snow-Fall came, and illness spread through the camp. Two out of three of Fire's kits became sick, but the inexperienced matriarch couldn't figure out why they wouldn't eat and were sleeping so much longer. Moonrunner wouldn't see them, because Sunchaser expected Fire to figure out why they were acting weird on her own. Before the moon was over, they had perished, and her last kit hung on by a whisker. Overcome with anguish and rage, Fire attacked Moonrunner in the leaders' den, but before she could deliver a killing blow, Sunchaser dove in between the she-cats, sacrificing his last life for his mate's. While her father lay dying, she wheeled on her mother to continue her slaughter, but she was slammed to the ground by the large Sentinel who had fathered her kits. The blow she took to her head killed her, leaving the grief-stricken Moonrunner to save and raise the kit Fire had left behind. Now, the she-cat rules the Tribe of Ceaseless Sands, her gorgeous figure unscathed besides the bloody injury to the left side of her temple. "They took my kits... I'll take their Tribe." (♥Snowfire♥)

Screen Name: talizorahvasnerd Cat Name: Feather From Bird's Wing (Feather) Description: A slender dark brown she-cat with a white underbelly, chin, and toes. She has bright yellow eyes. Personality: Feather tends to be a little withdrawn. She's unused to sticking up for herself, usually letting her brother do it for her. Sometimes, she's a little irresponsible, and even as an adult cat, doesn't expect the consequences of her actions Rank: Matriarch History: Initially a wayfinder, Feather always was the type to wander off. Her brother is usually very overbearing, trying to do as much for her as possible. For a brief time, she tried to rebel against him, running off for a night, meeting a mysterious outsider. She is unsure of his identity, but is now a matriarch. After this had happened, she went back to meekly obeying her brother. Other: Her brother is Ant Codeword: Sunchaser
Screen Name: talizorahvasnerd Cat Name: Ant That Marches In Line (Ant) Description: A slender, mostly white tom with dappled spots of brown throughout his pelt. He has large, bright yellow eyes. Personality: Ant is an extremely bossy and domineering cat. He naturally likes to take charge, and seems to have the impression that just about everyone is under his wing. Regardless, he doesn't really mean harm, he's just protective. Rank: Wayfinder History: He's very close to his sister, and in his mind, he tried to be like a parent towards her. The result was him taking control of every aspect of her life. After her brief time as a runaway, he became even more protective of her, yet part of him still just wants to have his own family to worry about. Other: His sister is Feather Codeword: Sunchaser

Personality: Adventurous, curious, quick to make a deicision, firey, unwise Rank: Wayfinder History: Her calling is the open space the great dessert provides her. The tribe is important, of course, but her real loyalty lies to the land Other: Codeword: Sunchaser

Feather laid down just outside of the matriarch den, her head resting on top of her paws. It'd be a lot nicer if Ant wasn't currently trying to fuss over her, but she couldn't have everything. As he tried to nudge her back towards the den, she opened an eye, flicking her tail in annoyance. "Really Ant! I'm not that far along yet, and Sun says it's fine for me to be out here" Ant huffed at her. "After everything you've done, can't you at least avoid trouble now?" Running off for a night with a rogue, just what had his sister been thinking? Feather hissed at him, but moved back into the den. "I really don't see how dozing outside is causing trouble..."

Screen Name: Dragoness Cat Name: A Dream of Snow (Snow) Description: Snow is a sturdy, handsome tomcat. He is one of the largest cats in the whole tribe, which, in combination with his strenght, makes him the perfect sentinel,. His fur is completely white, and unusually thick. That makes him more sensible to heat than most others, and he prefers to take the night shift. Because of his massive size, he is also less vulnerable to golden eagle attacks. His eyes are rather large and amber of colour. Personality: Wise beyond his years, Snow is a very dependable cat whom is liked and respected by most in the clan. Some call him too calm and levelheaded, unable to have fun. That, however, is not the case at all. Lurking just beneath the surface is a curious, witty young tom with a brave heart. It just takes some time to get to know that side of him, which he only shows around close relatives and friends. He would like to settle down and have family of his own sometime in the future, but he isn't actively searching for a mate. Rank:, Sentinel History: He is the only surviving kit of two wayfinders, and his father has passed away to the Tribe of Eternal Plenty. His mother is Golden Eagle at Dawn (Golden), whom is now an ancient. Golden was a trusted advisor to the former tribe seer, and is well respected in the clan. Novices often come to her for stories. Other: Not that I can think of Codeword: Sunchaser I'll create a she-cat, too, but I don't have time right now.

Flower was eyeing the pile of fresh kill, dreadfully tired from just returning from scouting. She had to run particularly fast this trip, as she had lingered too long and needed to return before the sun rose and drained her energy even more. Wishing she had the energy to grab a meal, or even tell the bickering siblings to be quiet, she sighed deeply.

After a few minutes had gone by, Feather had successfully shooed Ant out of the den, leaving him to make it back to the Wayfinder and Sentinel den. Passing by Flower, his ears twitched in acknowledgement. "Good hunting?" (Since you don't have a tom, would you be willing to make the rogue? It's okay if you'd rather not)

(I was trying to keep it open ended, so that'd be up to you" Ant sighed, nodding. "I don't think the responsibilities of being a matriarch have fully sunken in for her yet. And they wouldn't have needed to if she didn't run off the way she did in the first place"

"Her responsibility will become clear to her soon enough." Flower offered her uncharacteristiclaly wise advice, slowly rising, and feeling the pain in her strained muscles. "Besides, it was her choice. Why are you worried so much about it?"

Heart was draped across one of the rocks composing her den, watching her Tribe bicker with slight amusement in her orange eyes. She flicked her tail lazily, noting Feather and Ant's increased arguing. Particularly, she watched Feather, mildly concerned for the younger she-cat's emotional well-being.
Savage currently sat guard by the entrance to Camp, his eyes scanning the skies for potential threats. He could hear thr sound of quarreling behind him, but didn't care to make out the words. He wouldn't comment unless he was directly involved.

(Cats page has been updated!)
Sun came into camp subtly with a nod to Savage, and made his way to the rock where Heart was resting. Quietly he settled beside her and watched the other cats in the area. His large ears pinned forward, listening carefully. After a moment of his silence, he spoke; “Are they at it again?” Sun’s voice, though deeper, was mild and soft. He swept his tail around his paws. “You and Savage never bickered so much. Well at least I don't remember it.” he sighed, “I suppose siblings will be siblings…”

(I didn't say anything before cause I was on mobile, but welcome to the Tribe, guys and gals! I don't bite, so don't be afraid to ask any questions if you have them ^~^ )
Heart chuckled, glancing over at Sun with the same amusement in her fiery eyes. "No, Savage and I always got along well. Even as kits we only occasionally bickered, because he didn't want to go exploring with me. But now he has to do what I say." The red she-cat mused, her whiskers twitching with laughter. She was fond of her larger brother, who was the last born of the litter. "I worry about them, actually. Argue a lot more than typical siblings, I believe." She commented, flicking her ear as if to make a point. She looked at him expectantly, to see his point on it.

(If anyone wants to add cats to the Tribe of Eternal Plenty just post them here or send them to me via pm and I'll put them in. They don't need a super detailed descriptions its just nice to have a few ancestor cats sometimes.)
Sun stared into the desert beyond the camp, his ears twitched occasionally while he was deep in thought. The silence began to grow awkward between them. Then he spoke, "I think as long as they don't hurt each other, or any other cat... As long as its only bickering...It should be alright. " he shifted his weight on his paws. He wasn't completely sure. Sun knew that Ant was just bossy and trying to help his sister, however it seemed that Feather didn't really appreciate the 'advice'. "They'll work it out. And if they don't. Well, we will just have help them figure it out."

(I'll have to make them later, but Feather and Ant's parents are Spider That Weaves Its Web and Light that Trickles Through Leaves) With Ant gone again, Feather decided to take a second attempt at going outside. What did he know anyway? It wasn't like he knew any healing! It wasn't like she'd be out long anyway, the moment Ant poked his head outside, she'd be back in. It was just how things went. Hearing just a small sliver of conversation, she padded over to Sun and Heart. "Is everything okay?"

"Trouble? It's no trouble, it's just how he is" Feather shrugged. Honestly, Ant had been like this ever since they were kits, that one night had been fun, and she genuinely did still wonder about that rogue, but for now, she was okay with listening to Ant. "He's usually right anyway, but I don't think a bit of fresh air is so bad"
