"Hm?" Arlo sounded confused at first. Her mind kept drifting back to that room. Every time she looked at 7S she struggled to keep the image of her as she'd been the last time she'd seen her out of her mind, with patches of her artificial skin torn and burned, with pipes and wires hanging from where her arm had been blown off dripping with a dark liquid that Arlo assumed was the android equivalent of blood.
If that had happened in any other room she probably would have died and I wouldn't have been able to do anything to stop it...
She shook her head, blinking a few times as she attempted to clear the images from her mind and focus on the present. 7S had asked about the book. "Th-this notebook belonged to my parents, I've been looking in it trying to find anything that could help with the situation it my world... I haven't had a whole lot of luck with that so far, but I've been finding a lot of other interesting stuff."
(Ok, night Echo xD I think I'll be able to rp more tomorrow)

Sure. I'm not sure how good my posts will be though, fair warning. ))
Sherlock blinked in, holding large soft pretzel in one hand and a container of dipping cheese in the other. "-Do it." He was insisting in a loud voice, then blinked, coughing lightly as he saw where he was. "Not the best of times, House...you could have at least broken up the monotonous morning I had." He complained in a low voice, putting in food on the table and hoping no one took it. Even so, it would come back, right?

(That's fine! Fair warning heeded.)
Kid blinked in, still wet from his dip in the pond, however unintended. He looked at Sherlock, blinking. He hadn't expected the detective. Only seconds before, he'd been talking to Ciel and the merchant. Now there was a new blinker. This was weird. Every time he thought he was used to this place, it kept throwing that 'time passes way differently here than where you come from'. "Hello," he greeted, unsure if there was anything else to say. He noticed the food and a small grin crossed his face. "Oh, House interrupt you while you were eating?"

Sherlock looked up at Kid as he appeared, and smirked a bit at the damp thief. "Better timing than you, I gather." He returned, his voice somewhere between amused and disdainful. "Anyway, it isn't mine, it's part of a case strangely enough. It's, ah..a bit complicated." Whether this was the truth, or the detective's childish attempt to cover up the fact that he too was human, was almost impossible to discern.

Kid shrugged. "Nah. This is actually better than the last two times. I'll be on better footing when I blink back to my world." He looked at the food again, then laughed. "Really? Just to check, but you aren't on a diet or something? Just so I know you aren't breaking it and lying." He was joking, but wanted to mess with Sherlock anyway. He wasn't going to shoot down that option at once, but he also wasn't going to just let it go. He wandered over to the couch, but didn't sit down at once. The couch didn't need to be wet as well as thread-bare.

"It's for a case." Sherlock repeated, this time sounding almost sullen as he cast a grumpy look at the food. He glanced back up at Kid, and smirked again, watching him stop near the couch. "Knowing the House, if you get that cushion wet it might stay that way forever." He remarked. "What happened to you, anyway?"

"Fell into a pond," answered Kid, sitting down anyway. The cushion could just get wet. Maybe the House would send it out for dry-cleaning in one of its many rooms. He wondered if the couch and the chairs and, well, everything really, had been like this since the first blinkers. A House that forever looked like it had been old. Or was it something to do with the mansion version of the House? Had it actually sustained damage from hundreds, perhaps millions, of years of blinkers coming into it, slowly gaining more of it as it went? It was a good theory at least. "I fell into a pond after that squid girl killed me in the last room. I blinked out and ended up remembering too late I'd been heading in the direction of a pond. Feel head first into it." He looked up at Sherlock and raised an eyebrow. Had the detective been in that room? Kid had been too busy to tell.

"Shame we can't travel to each other's worlds." 7S mused, "Finding stuff is one of my specialties. Perhaps I could have helped with that." Maybe I should go back to digging around in those old world research records. I could find more about interdimensional studies and see what came of it. The Android pulled up a terminal and pulled the textbook she was holding open. Like a, well computer scanner, she began logging the words it held into a new file. Her eyes flew across the words and she was quickly at the next page. The book was pretty beefy though, so it would take a little bit to log it all. "What other things did you find? If you look deep enough, maybe they can help point to what you were actually looking for."

Arlo smiled slightly, looking curiously at the screen 7S had created. "Travel between worlds isn't impossible, I did it once. It can be a little difficult though. I went to Kaia and Rae's world once... I guess it was about four years ago. Kaia was one of the first blinkers." At 7S's question, she blinked a couple times and looked at her book again. "I've found quite a few maps- maps of places that aren't supposed to exist. Like look at this," she said, pulling a sheet of paper from the back of the book. Unlike the rest of the book which appeared somewhat tattered, the paper she was currently unfolding to reveal a rather large map of the world had been recently printed. She spread the map across the coffee table. "This is what my world's supposed look like, but," she paused and flipped through the book until she found the page she was looking for. "According to this map, there's an island right here, and I know that it's there because I've been on it before, but these other places-" she flipped a few pages in the notebook, "-I never knew that they existed. It's possible that they could be similar to the island." When she finally stopped talking her expression seemed to be somewhere between excitement and concern. If they were similar to the island, what she'd believed to be the last place in the world where magic was common, it would be amazing. Unfortunately, it could also mean a lot of trouble.

(It's fine. I'm being slow anyway.)
7S's head tilted in suprise. "Did you do it through your own means? Or did the House help that?" She couldn't resist asking. If it was possible without the House, than maybe... She put her scan on pause as the other girl took out a few maps, the contents causing her to raise her brows in suprise. "Hmm. An old world map. Don't see those much unless you look them up." She was talking about the normal map, but her attention was locked on the one with these new islands one it. 7S pushed her file aside and pulled up a current map of her world. It still bore a resemblance to Arlo's, if you didn't count the various messed up environments, like a huge desert in Japan and America being forever shrouded in night. "It's always fascinating to see everyone's different versions of Earth. You plan on visiting these places, right?" Of course the island's didn't come up on hers, but comparing it was fun anyway. "Islands that aren't supposed to exist. Huh. They remind me of Atlantis." She began to rub her chin. Atlantis, now there was a treasure trove of data. The machine fortress was given that name after rising out of the sea like the mythological city. If she could infiltrate it, she would have enough info to overload a database.
