Plot: A little over one month ago, the world was thrown into chaos. Relations between countries collapsed. Tempers were lost. Weapons were let loose. Now our world, our home, is nothing but a wasteland full of danger. To make matters worse, the nuclear reactor at the center of this once great metropolis is slowly growing unstable. If it blows, it'll just make things even worse for this wasteland. Survivors must either band together to try and solve this problem, or risk complete annihilation....
News: 4/12/2017 - [RP Opened!] The Utopis Nuclear Reactor is becoming unstable. The wasteland is at risk.
Technology: Our society had grown much more technologically advanced. There are self-aware robots, people with cybernetic enhancements, unique weapons that discharge energy instead of solid ammunition, and some aircraft has even survived the destruction. This same technology remains in the wasteland, but many of the robots are fighting back instead of being used for scrap.

Sour Candy's characters: Name: Alex Age: 21 Description: Alex is a man with cybernetic enhancements. He has black hair and yellow electronic eyes that glow dimly. His black steel limbs contrast with his white skin, cutting off below his shoulders and upper thighs. Despite being put through a lot within the past month, he tries his best to keep his head high, and to help anybody in need. Gear: Alex commonly wears a thick trench coat with a hood and cargo pants. His enhanced eye implants allow him to perform minor scans on people and objects, to detect injuries, some contaminants and a few other little things. Weapons: Aside from having increased strength from his mechanical limbs, Alex primarily uses a FN SCAR assault rifle with an ACOG sight and laser attachment. Other: Since the disaster, he had his safety protocols on his cybernetics disabled, allowing him to become stronger but at the same time puts his physical health at risk. Name: Buck Years since assembly: 6 Description: Buck is a robot that was designed as a security unit. After the disaster, Buck was kick-started into operation from a mainframe failure in his factory. Taking what he could, he now wanders the wasteland with Alex to help those who are in trouble. However, a malfunction in his hardware causes a severe overheating problem, so he fights from a distance to avoid overheating. Gear: Buck wears a burlap cloak over himself, to hide himself from eager scavengers. His weapon of choice is a high-powered energy sniper rifle, so he can provide covering fire from a distance. Though the rifle has high stopping power and nearly pinpoint accuracy, after the four-round clip is empty, it takes a while for the ammunition to recharge. Other: Increased movement, such as extended periods of running or close-quarters combat, can cause him to lock up and overheat. Concept for his model: And his rifle: Name: Gage Years since assembly: 2 Description: Gage was a prototype robot that was planned to be used in military operations. His model seems similar to Buck's, but his body plating, head and limbs appear to be more angular, and his head appears to have a part many people compare to a coyote's snout. His paint job is jet black wish a splash of bright yellow from LEDs on his face plate, arm joints, knee joints and back. Since Gage was early in development before everything got destroyed, a few features are missing, such as a voice module. He tries to communicate by changing the color of his LEDs; for example, he turns them to red when he's angry or in primal form, yellow when he's normal, green when happy, blue when sad, etc. They key feature of Gage is his primal form, where he reverts to all fours and gains a large boost to his mobility and speed. Short claws that expand from his fingers and feet allow him to both slice open his opponents and climb rubble and buildings. Gear: Gage tends to walk around in the bare flesh...er, metal. Weapons: Not counting his primal form, Gage's only weapon is a basic handgun. Other: Sometimes Gage can have trouble telling friend from foe in his primal form. Percival de Rolo III 's Characters: Name: Manako Murasaki Age: 19 Description: Manako is a tall woman with a lithe, slim figure and long limbs. She is of Japanese descent, with pale skin, black hair tied in a high ponytail, and dark brown eyes. A streak of purple matching her arm’s trim goes through her bangs. Her right arm is fully cybernetic all the way up to the shoulder, which helps her a lot when fighting because it is her draw arm and thus allows for a greater draw weight and faster draw speed with no drain on her stamina. The arm is a smooth white plastic with black and purple trim. Gear: Manako wears a simple black tank top and a comfortable pair of jeans with plain tennis shoes. If it is cold she will wear a grey hoodie, but otherwise she emphasizes comfort and range of motion in her wardrobe because she does a lot of running and climbing in combat to get the right angles and vantage points for shooting. She has a small cinch-up backpack which she stores food, water, and medical supplies in, as well as spare arrows that can't fit in her quiver at the time. She wears her quiver fastened to her belt and behind her rather than on her back and over her shoulder. Manako wears a black leather gauntlet of sorts on her non-prosthetic arm which combines a fingerless glove with an arm guard to protect her forearm from string slap when using her bow. Weapon: A simple black compound bow with no fancy attachments. The draw weight is very high and this combined with the broadhead arrows Manako uses allows for good penetration and high internal damage and impact force even against armored or robotic opponents. Manako also carries homemade explosive arrows that don't work super well nor do they work all of the time, but they can help occasionally. Her quiver is pretty fancy compared to her bow, her first and only archery-related purchase bought with her competition winnings. It is automated and completely covered aside from three holes. Revolving parts inside grab three arrows at a time and push them through the holes while holding the rest of the arrows inside the quiver. This allows her to draw three arrows at a time while keeping the remaining arrows from falling out of the quiver while she is moving. The drawback is that the quiver is prone to jamming and arrows are selected randomly meaning she might get any combination of the arrow types she carries regardless of whether she actually needs them. When the cover is twisted and pulled at the same time it comes off to allow her to refill her quiver between battles. Other: Manako aspired to be a competitive archer and even won a few local events before a car accident caused her to lose her right arm and receive a prosthetic. After her recovery, the young woman attempted to return to the competitive scene. However, her prosthetic was ruled to be an unfair advantage because the cybernetics don’t fatigue like a normal archer’s arm. This ruling ended her career before it had a chance to really begin. After being forced to retire from the archery scene she got into freerunning and parkour and nowadays uses those skills to traverse the wasteland quickly, put distance between herself and her target, evade hostiles, get height advantages, or attack from unexpected angles. Since everything happened Manako had the safety limits on her prosthetic removed which allows her to draw and fire much faster and gives her even greater strength than a normal prosthetic at the cost of regular maintenance (due to greater mechanical stresses and increased wear and tear) and greater likelihood of failure with continued use. falconfire 's Characters: [INACTIVE]Name: Dante Aptheker Age: 20 Description: Dante stands at about 5’6, with curlyish dark brown hair and eyebrows and light brown eyes against pale skin. His eyes are round and often seen wide and simply watching everything around him. His nose is convex and comparatively large, but he never draws too much attention, as he usually stands with his back hunched or otherwise makes himself look smaller. While agile, his body is not designed for using force. Gear: He has a frayed, dark blue lab coat over casual clothing, and carries a backpack of supplies with him. Weapons: Dante is knowledgeable enough about chemistry to mix up poisons and other mixtures to use as weapons, but he owns no 'true' weapons aside from a pocket knife. Other:
Name: Eryk Krakowsky Age: 17 Description: At 5’10”, Eryk’s height is unremarkable. He’s skinny, too. His hair is naturally brunet, but he bleaches it himself. His skin is pale too, save for the streaks of dark along his veins, and he has dark brown eyebrows above pale hazel eyes. His left forearm is prosthetic, with the fingertips enhanced to discharge electricity. Gear: Eryk carries a backpack as well, and his clothing includes light jeans and a black sleeveless turtleneck. Weapons: He is currently working to control his arm-- crudely made from spare parts he found-- and use that electricity as a form of defense. Other: These two are cousins; their mothers are sisters, and they were raised to pursue science before combat and violence. As such, they are both intelligent but pretty unfit for fighting, should threats arise in the wasteland. kiwi cheesecake 's Characters Name: Vanessa Caera Age: 20 Description: Vanessa is a thin, pale young woman with white-blonde hair. Her skin is a creamy white color, and is only slightly lighter than her hair. She has crystal blue eyes, carefully trained to never betray a hint of emotion. Her hair only goes down to about her shoulders. Vanessa has no cybernetic implants- not because it goes against her beliefs or anything, but simply because she wants to show the world what she can do without any enhancements. Gear: Vanessa wears fairly standard clothing in her day-to-day activities, trying to make sure anyone that sees her won’t have any reason to remember her. She tends to wear a set of clothes only once, then scrap then as soon as possible for a new set. This makes her give even less of a lasting impression on her peers. While on the hunt, Vanessa wears a sleek black bodysuit that allows for both freedom of movement and protection from various weapons. To accompany this is a silver formless mask that covers her face- one more precaution to not be seen. She ties her hair back while hunting as well, leaving it in a small black knot at the back of her head. The only exposed part of her body is the back of her head, and so she is extremely careful to never let her enemy get behind her. Weapons: In normal situations, Vanessa carries only a small concealable pistol on her. This makes being noticed in public by an enemy even more of a danger, so she’s always extremely careful in situations involving even a few strangers. While on the hunt, Vanessa prefers the use of a long, katana-like sword that can cleave straight through most metals with no more than a scratch. However, this assumes that she’ll be able to get up close to her target. While this is her preferred weapon, more subtle or stealthy hunts tend to require a ranged weapon. In this case, she has a small variety of guns to choose from at her base, including a variety of pistols and sniper rifles. Other: Vanessa currently works as a freelance assassin, a job not too different from her old occupation before the disaster. She’s well known by deeds, not by face. She’s mostly paid in resources, but it doesn’t matter much to her what she gets as long as the job is completed. She hates leaving loose ends. Vanessa calls her jobs ‘hunts’, to go along with the name her assassin bears- The Huntress.
mourningdove 's Characters Name: Mel Tegan Virgil Age/Years since assembly(for robots): 20 Description: Mel is of shorter height, only standing at 5’2. She appears slender, but does have some strength behind her. Her skin is a soft, pale color with warm, yellow undertones. Her hair is a chestnut brown, shaved incredibly close to her head. Her eyes are brown, and she is always wearing mascara on them. Mel will only wear loose fitting clothing. Mel is very cunning, but when her emotions are high, doesn’t know when to stop. She is intelligent, and resourceful, but only when it comes to the land. Book smarts never came to her. She originally lived in Stockholm, where her American parents stayed for five years after her birth before returning to the states. She has a little sister that she thinks of often. Gear: A old, yellow backpack with a NASA patch sewed to the front. Inside is rope, a water bottle, an atlas, a few supplies for fishing, and a notebook and pen. Weapons: Mel has a pistol with limited rounds, so she mainly sticks to her hunting knife. Other: “The Faithful Companion” archetype Face claim: Name: Laurence Salazar Age/Years since assembly(for robots): 22 Description: Laurence stands at an average height, 5’11, though is tall for his family. He has slightly tanned skin, and dark brown, almost black, eyes. Laurence has grown his hair long, and tied it back into a bun to keep it out of his eyes. He has prominent eyebrows, and a few moles on his cheeks and near his mouth. He is fit, but not incredibly muscular, and has an average build. Laurence is very intelligent, graduating top of his class in high school, a few years before everything went downhill. He is incredibly bitter about the event, and feels cheated. Laurence thinks things through, and isn’t known to make any decision in less than five minutes. He can be very cold and standoffish, though. It’s just difficult to be friendly and social in this situation, he figures. Gear: Various books, some drugstore medicine, a swiss army knife, and another pair of shoes. Weapons: He only has a baseball bat at the moment. He plans on finding something better at the first opportunity. Other: “The Platonic Ideal” archetype Faceclaim: Name: Sonnet Evershine Age: 19 Description: Sonnet has long, never cut, straight brown hair. Her eyes are a comforting shade of brown, and have a soft look to them, which matches her soft face. Her skin is tanned, and a few freckles peek out on her cheeks. She has long eyelashes, and good eyebrows. She's average height, 5'5, and fairly strong. Sonnet is shy, curious, reserved, intelligent, and adaptable. She loves to tinker with mechanisms, and despite her parents wish that she would study English, as they had dreamed for her to do. Her parents were rather big hippies, but she's respects their views and even shares a few. Gear: she has thick, dark green gloves, a jumpsuit that she wears, often with the top half tied around her waist, various tools for tinkering, and her mother's notebook. Weapons: She can't really fight, but she will hit someone with her wrench if necessary. Other: "Damsel in Distress" archetype faceclaim

Is it alright if my character wears atire that is not currently in style durign present day. I kind of wanted him to find an old WWI military uniform, and using that as gear. if you don't like that idea, it's fine, I have other ideas. Also, I really like this rp!)

Alex walked down a cracked street in the city, Buck following close behind. The broken streetlights occasionally sparked and flickered and car alarms sounded in the distance. Aside from the alarms and occasional distant gunfire, the street was silent aside from the heavy footsteps of the robot and enhanced human. Buck's cloak hid him well- he almost looked like a ghost in the dusty burlap, light blue LED lights shining through the shroud of his hood.

Manako watched the two from above. She'd been running across a sloped rooftop when she heard footprints nearby and immediately went prone, lying down and using the slope of the roof to hide herself from the street. It was better to be cautious these days- she'd been shot at too many times to warrant any other response. The hidden archer would observe from a distance until these two passed, or decided they were worth further investigation. Their unusually heavy footsteps had already piqued her curiosity, but that also usually meant danger. Heavier people were harder to kill, especially if it was because they were a robot. She was reasonably hidden from view, but an astute observer might be able to notice the recent footprints and skid marks on the otherwise dusty and ashy roofs or the tip of her bow which just barely extended above the slope of the roof due to its position over her shoulder.

(Trying to decide if it would be fair for Alex to notice any signs of nearby people with his eye scan or not ) "I think this seems like a good spot to rest. I could use a nap....or two." Alex was weary from nearly a full day of wandering and scavenging for supplies. He walked up to a wrecked car and, after a few attempts, ripped the door off the vehicle and threw it aside, causing a loud "crash". " I advise we keep noise to a minimum," Buck commented. " Excess audio could attract potential combatants." Alex rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I know. I just wanted to get in this car," he said as he climbed inside the vehicle. Buck leaned against the hood of the car and crossed his arms. " You could try the handle next time..."

Manako kept herself hidden and was thus unable to see what was going on. But she could hear, and she didn't like what she heard. A loud crash sound, followed by a separate robotic voice. That meant both someone with enough strength to cause that sound and a robot, neither of which she would want to tangle with individually. Together? Absolutely not. However, their dialogue suggested they weren't leaving anytime soon either. The archer's brows furrowed and she glanced around at neighboring buildings to see if there was a concealed way out, but she was too high up to drop to ground level and any other path would take her across the other roofs which were flatter and more open. She would be seen. While pondering this the shingle that she was resting her left foot on suddenly came loose and fell off, making a loud crack as it hit the ground below and causing her foot to slip across the roof. The resulting scrabble for traction was also audible, as was Manako's violent curse when she realised her cover was very thoroughly blown.
(She isn't the stealthiest of individuals. xP)

Alex stepped out and walked beside Buck, pulling out his assault rifle in case things took a turn for the worse. "Hey! Are you alright up there?" he called out. His robot companion made no moves to pull out his own rifle but did not turn his gaze from the potential threat.

Crap. This wasn't how things were supposed to go. This roof would not be a good place to fight. "Umm... yeah, I'm okay." Manako said, somewhat confused by the non-aggressive tone but still wary that it was some kind of trap. She made a quick jump across to the neighboring roof, which was flatter but had a few power boxes and vents to hide behind if something were to happen. She didn't hide just yet though, preferring instead to bring her bow into her hand and walk out to the edge of the roof so she could see what she was up against. And maybe if they could see her they would realize she wasn't a threat and let her go.

Buck and Alex looked at each other briefly before Alex shrugged and slung his rifle back over his shoulder. "Hey Buck, I'm going back to resting. If she comes down here try not to blow her head off unless she attacks you first." Buck nodded his head and swiveled his head back to watching the above archer. Alex settled in to his little car shelter and hung up a large sheet to cover where he had ripped the door off. "By the way," he spoke as he fastened the sheet to the car, "how long until we hit our destination anyway?" "The Utopis air yard is approximately eleven point nine miles. ETA is three hours once we resume transit." Buck didn't move from tracking the archer as he spoke.

Name: Dante Aptheker Age: 20 Description: Dante stands at about 5’6, with curlyish dark brown hair and eyebrows and light brown eyes against pale skin. His eyes are round and often seen wide and simply watching everything around him. His nose is convex and comparatively large, but he never draws too much attention, as he usually stands with his back hunched or otherwise makes himself look smaller. While agile, his body is not designed for using force. Gear: He has a frayed, dark blue lab coat over casual clothing, and carries a backpack of supplies with him. Weapons: Dante is knowledgeable enough about chemistry to mix up poisons and other mixtures to use as weapons, but he owns no 'true' weapons aside from a pocket knife. Other:
Name: Eryk Krakowsky Age: 17 Description: At 5’10”, Eryk’s height is unremarkable. He’s skinny, too. His hair is naturally brunet, but he bleaches it himself. His skin is pale too, save for the streaks of dark along his veins, and he has dark brown eyebrows above pale hazel eyes. His left forearm is prosthetic, with the fingertips enhanced to discharge electricity. Gear: Eryk carries a backpack as well, and his clothing includes light jeans and a black sleeveless turtleneck. Weapons: He is currently working to control his arm-- crudely made from spare parts he found-- and use that electricity as a form of defense. Other: These two are cousins; their mothers are sisters, and they were raised to pursue science before combat and violence. As such, they are both intelligent but pretty unfit for fighting, should threats arise in the wasteland.

(Hmm...I suppose your characters could be going down the same road the other three are currently at? I don't have any other free characters so that would probably work best idk)
