Santiago brightened when Kali said she could hear running water and followed the two women eagerly. He made a happy noise at the sight of it, waiting for Tessa to test it, before hopping down to the waters edge. He knelt down, scooping some up, sipping a little before nodding his approval and filling up a flask. "Perhaps we should move inland to stay near the water?" He suggested, pleased to see that there was something drinkable here, that they wouldn't die form dehydration. It was a long and painful death, after all, and one of the few fates he didn't want to wish upon anyone. He'd seen plenty of of his crew die that way and didn't want to see it again. "Or if not we should mark out a trail back to here."

When the wicked laughter began, Henry couldn’t help but sigh. He didn’t want to say he told them so, but it was extremely hard not to. And of course they picked the island with whatever demonic creatures were making that laughter.
That was then the pulling of his clothes started. Irritated, Hal was trying to swat the creatures away, but very quickly realised that he wasn’t getting anywhere with it. It was hard to swat when you had nothing to aim at.
“Put your sword away,” he suggested to Zeno “it isn’t going to help you here.”
And besides, perhaps the presence of this weapon was making things worse by threatening the creatures. Hal didn’t know what this was about.
“We need to make them easier to see,” Hal said irritably as he tried to get the sprites off him “I don’t suppose anyone sees any powdery substance anywhere around here? Even water might help.”

(Henry is kinda a sucky person let’s be real XD)
As the sailor ran away, Henry shot a glance at Alaric.
“Would you like to let him leave? Or go and get him?” Hal asked, nodding towards the retreating sailor, while batting a creature away with his hands.
“If one of us could get hold of one,” he suggested “we can see what we’re dealing with.”
But this was proving almost impossible. He would almost manage to grab one and then it would just slip away. This was really difficult. What the heck were these things? And how could they stop them?

Santi had noticed how quickly the sun had set, he knew that it was definitely a problem, because this was when the more dangerous spirits came out to play. If they found problems with the water sprites then he couldn't imagine what the creatures of the night were going to be like. His face paled a little at the mention of his wound and he looked down, seeing the small stain on his shirt, before shaking his head slowly ."Its fine." He said, waving his hand away, like it wasn't an actual problem. He definitely looked unhappy, he needed to find a way to get back here, before relaxing for a few moments when she suggested they make it on the map. "I.. I suppose that we could do that. I just don't want us all dying from lack of water if we mark it wrong." He grumped, folding his arms against his chest, scowling just a little.

(Haha you give him too much credit XD But considering he’s a pirate he is indeed a good boy)
“Why do I have to think of everything?” Henry snapped, wincing as his arm was bitten
But even as he spoke the teenager was looking around, searching for anything at all that could help
“Try and cover them with something so we can see where they are,” Hal suggested, running out of ideas
He was currently trying to pick up some soil and throw it over the creatures, hoping to be able to show him where they were. It took a few tries, but finally he saw a little shape covered in dirt. He reached out quickly, and grinned when his hand closed around the creature
“I’ve got one!” the boy told Zenobia, still holding the creature tight but trying to get a good look so he could see what it was.

As if this day couldn't get any weirder. The young man watched in astonishment as a distant scream drew nearer, turning out to the sailor. When the two creatures were revealed, Hal was not ashamed to say that his jaw dropped.
“What the bloody hell are those?” he asked in astonishment
He took it as a warning sign that the buzzing creatures were retreating. Even the one in his hand wriggled free and disappeared into the trees. If they were scared of these things that could only be a bad sign.
“And where’s Alaric?” Henry asked. He was also a little concerned for the fact that Alaric was loose somewhere in the jungle, not only where he could cause trouble but where there seemed to be more than enough trouble that could find him.
He made a mental note to himself; never let himself end up on a crazy quest like this ever again. Weird things happened, and Henry was not down. He had just wanted a nice little sailing trip maybe with a few bumps along the way and some treasure at the end, not whatever crazy expedition this had apparently turned into. Nothing about what was happening right not was normal.

(Haha thanks. Henry is just done. He just wanted a nice trip and he can’t be bothered for anythinng more)
“Okay, so I suppose we’re going to try and find Alaric,” Henry sighed before shooting a look at the sailor “and we won’t tell the Commodore that you ran off and lost one of the pirates.”
He looked over the creatures before looking back at Zenobia.
“He does have a point though,” Hal shrugged “Thessa might know something of use about these creatures that keep attacking us. And the Commodore won’t be happy if we’re not back on the beach with the others very soon. So I suggest we try and find Alaric, wherever he’s gotten to, and then head back with these creatures. Surely someone must know something about them.”
(Ugh this is so short sorry)

"We should collect what we can and head back." Kali suggested. "We'll ration it out to the crew tonight and send for more in the morning." She didn't want to wait in the dark while they figured out how to bring back more water. It would be easier to fill up their canteens and come back the next day with barrels and sailors to transport more water for the rest of the crew.

Henry sighed as Zenobia began to walk off, debating what to do. He didn’t have to debate for long though, as he ran forward and stopped in front of Zenobia, effectively blocking her path.
“We can’t leave him,” Henry said determinedly “I know we joked about leaving him behind. At least I was joking, I now understand that you were apparently deadly serious. And I know you think he’s annoying, and I’m totally with you there, he’s the most irritating and abrasive man I’ve ever met. But you know it isn’t right just to abandon him out here. We have to look after one another, we have rules, Zenobia. Rules about looking after our own. He won’t last five minutes lost in that jungle. So I’m going to head out to look for him. You should do the same.”
Henry then stepped back out of Zenobia’s way, heading back in the direction the sailor had said Alaric had come from. He shot a glance at the sailor.
“You can go where you like. I’m not going to force you to come with me so you can head down to the beach if you like.”
And so he started heading down the path, searching for any signs of Alaric.

Hal smiled to himself as he heard Zenobia approaching behind him. He’d been successful.
“Hey, you can do it for whatever reasons you want, all that matters is you’re doing it,” the boy chuckled
He was picking his way through the jungle, searching for any signs of Alaric as he went, whether it be footprints or sounds or anything like that. He should be frailty easy to find, he thought.
“He can’t have gone too far,” Henry suggested “He has to be around here.”
(No problem! Are you tired?)

Thessa nodded for him to proceed. "Even if there were spirits here to harm you, you are under my protection. You are my responsibility," she insisted. More to herself than to the others. She seemed distracted. She kept muttering into her hands as she walked. It was rapid and angry and in a different tongue. Once she was finished, a wind picked up and delivered whatever it was from her hands to the sky. After a few minutes of silence, Thessa crossed her arms over her chest and sighed. "I still do not agree with you trying to find El Dorado. That place is a curse itself if I've heard correctly," she said before taking a deep breath. "I don't wish for more death, only peace at last," she whispered. At the confirmation Santi nodded and turned around. Every ten feet he’d mark an X into the tree, counting out his paces, as they continued to walk back towards the camp. It was hard to stay in the front, frankly he was losing energy and fast, but he was too stubborn to let Kali do the marking. He looked over to her when she commented on El Dorado, a sad look on his features, as if he knew himself that it was true. “I’ve heard the stories about it. Unfortunately... we don’t have much of a choice in this matter.” He responded slowly, Voice quiet as he paused once more, looking up at the thick foliage. “I’m certain all of us would turn back, too.” Before staring at her strangely, not quite understanding what she meant by peace at last.

Kali was walking behind the two, eyeing Santiago as he started to loose energy. "One of those English Dogs captured all of us and is forcing us to find the stupid place of Gold." She spat with venom. "That damn Pirate Hunter put us all on that ship together and is either bribing or holding loved ones hostage to make us do his bidding." She wondered if she should just leave the group in the middle of the night and find her way back to her crew. Nothing that Fletcher could do would make her stay, she had nothing to gain or loose from staying with this group and sneaking away would be easier on an island than on the ship.

Henry had so far seen no signs of Alaric, not even a snapped twig or some disturbed leaves. It was as if he had never walked through here. But he must be; the sailor had said so.
The young man was just starting to get really confused when Zenobia pointed out something even more confusing. A single footprint, nothing in front or behind it. The mud just have held the footprint. But what Henry was wondering was where Alaric was.
Maybe he was caught in a trap? Or some creature had gotten him?
He looked everywhere: in the logical direction in which Alaric would have gone if he’d kept walking, in every other direction besides, and even up into the trees above them. He had to be around her somewhere.
“Alaric?” Hal called. He might be drawing attention to them but at this point anything and everything living in this jungle probably knew they were there so what was the point honestly?

“Yup.” Santiago said, drawing out the word and popping the P at the End, even if he felt the slightest bit uncomfortable about agreeing with such a negative portrayal of Fletcher. Sure, he was still angry about being forced here, but his understanding was that the Commodore didn’t have much of a choice either.
Not that anyone else actually knew that small bit of information but Santiago.
He bit back a sigh at that, wincing as he stumbled over a root, hand going to his side as pain shot through his body. He took a breath for a moment before chuckling at Thessa. “Interesting, eh?” He mused with a smirk as he righted himself before picking his way through the thick foliage. “I take it you haven’t been in the presence of a group of pirates before.” He chuckled to himself as he paused to make another X. They had to be getting close now, right?
