Corbin followed Simon to the door and exited first, the crisp night air a welcome feeling. He was a bit confused at Simon's offer to hide behind something to change, but shrugged it off. Maybe they did have some werewolf differences. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before opening them, their Amber hues taking in everything, then, he could scent everything and hear everything. Then, there was the tingling that started in his fingertips and toes before spreading to the rest of his body. He curled his hands into fists and then ... It just happened like it always did. It was almost like breathing, there was no pain and his clothes merged with his body, something he never really questioned. When he was younger, he could change without even realizing it was happening, but as he got older, he learned to look out for those feeling and he could tell when he was about to change. The only physical signs between changing from human to wolf were his eyes, which went Amber, his teeth, which elonged, his nails, which sharpened and the blood veins close to the surface of his skin which darkened. He looked around and easily found Simon and trotted over, the feeling of being in his wolf form satisfying and exhilarating.

Simon let out a friendly yip, tipping his head to one side as he studied his partner now that he was in wolf-form, recognizing him through scent mostly. He blinked his wide gold eyes, panting happily before he shot off, enjoying the feeling of dirt under his paws and the fact that he could sense everything. The black wolf slowed down as he spotted Rory in her terrier form, leaning down and sniffing the top of her head. He then lept back, crouching down playfully, clearly ready to get going, his black fur fluffed and messy just like his human hair. Once he knew the others where ready he shot forward, taking the lead as they headed into the forest, surprisingly fast for a wolf with three legs.

Rory shot after him, her little legs pumping as hard as they could and her tongue lolling out of the side of her mouth. As soon as they hit the forest, she leapt off a large rock and shifted mid-air into a Barn owl, flying just above Simon and brushing his fur with her wingtips playfully. She flapped her wings to gain slight altitude and letting out a loud screech. In her new form, her night vision was greatly improved and she floated effortlessly around trees and other debris. --- Both Rottweilers pricked their ears, and that was all the signal Steele needed. He let out a sharp whistle and both dogs tore off into the brush, moving surprisingly quietly though the brush. They headed north toward where Simon, Corbin, and Rory were running, their fangs bared as they moved in sync. Steele followed them, but slowly. He wanted them to get there first and weaken whatever they found.

Corbin made his way over to Rory, following Simon over. He was a bit uneasy to see that Rory wasn't in wolf form, but rather just a dog, though he put the thought aside as Simon took off. Being an Ethiopian wolf, he could only run up to about 30 mph whereas most wolves could run up to 40 mph, so he was a bit slower that he would have liked, though it still felt nice to be running. He sprinted after Simon as a good 28 mph as he didn't want to use up all his speed in the first go. The nice, cold air whisked past him and he could hear every blade of grass and every leaf crunch under their paws as they ran. Crickets chirped and he could hear the distant croak of frogs, though he wasn't quite sure where it would be muddy enough for them. His bright, golden eyes watched as much as they could take in, memorizing every tree and bush they past.

Rory slowed her pace as well and swooped down until she was just barely above the ground, before finally shifting into her wolf form. As she had said, she was significantly smaller, but still just as fast. Her sense of smell was not nearly as hypersensitive as Simon and Corbin's, so she carried on, picking up on the sound of rushing water, knowing they were nearing the river. She spotted the bank of the water and made a sharp right turn, running alongside the fast moving water. She failed to hear Corbin's warning bark over the sound of the river. --- Suddenly, both dogs split, with one running towards Simon and Corbin and the other running towards the different scent, which was Rory's. Confused by the dogs' unusual behavior (they never split up before) Steele slowed down and followed the dog headed towards Rory, curious on what it had found.
As Rory was about to head back towards Simon, she was taken by surprise as a massive dog lunged out of the bushes and crashed into her, knocking the breath out of her. She let out a sharp yelp as the force of the collision knocked both of them straight into the icy water. The dog instantly locked its sharp jaws around her hind leg, pulling her under. She felt the strong tug of the current and churned her paws furiously in panic as she went under even deeper.

The dog chasing Simon and Corbin seemed to pause, almost as if it were debating which wolf to go after. After a moment, it tore after Corbin, saliva flying from its mouth as it ran. Rottweilers had a top speed of 25 mph, but Corbin had the advantage of being more streamlined and agile than the muscular animal.
The dog that had its teeth in Rory snarled in anger and released the smaller wolf, turning on Simon. The river was starting to become more shallow, and having been freed from the animal's jaws, Rory was able to kick off the bottom of the river and surface, drawing in a huge gulp of air. She almost immediately went under again as the dog's larger body collided with hers, clumsily trying to attack Simon, whilst also staying afloat. The dog finally managed to sink its teeth in Simon's ear, snarling viciously.
Steele watched, concealed amongst the foliage, following the three battling canines along the river. He wasn't particularly concerned with his dogs' safety as he was fascinated by the fight that was occurring before him. He knew that the three-legged wolf had to be a werewolf, but the smaller wolf...it was unheard of. A shifter would most certainly be killed if it went anywhere near a wolf, let alone a pack, but then again, stranger things had happened. He needed to rethink his strategy entirely, it seemed, if he was going to get what he came for.

The dog continued its chase after Corbin, clumsily crashing through the undergrowth. It was tiring slightly, causing it to slow, but it persisted with its chase. It let out a yelp as its paw got caught on a root. It quickly recovered, and limped after Corbin, its pace now significantly slower.
The dog howled in pain and released Simon's ear, its massive, churning paws kicking out. One of its paws hit Rory and, combined with the current, she was slammed into a large rock. She gasped as she felt a crackle in her side, indicating at least one of her ribs had broken on the impact. The rock had stopped her from being swept away again, however, and she slowly limped out of the water, her hind leg dripping blood from where the dog had bitten her. She practically collapsed on the shore, exhausted and in agony from her broken rib.
Unsure of how many other werewolves were in the area, Steele decided to call off the attack for now. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a dog whistle, blowing it hard before retreating out of the woods.
The dog attacking Simon suddenly pricked its ears and scrambled away from the wolf, leaving the water. It barely even glanced at Rory as it ran past, clearly following a command. The dog chasing Corbin immediately stopped and turned, cocking its head as though listening, before limping off back into the woods, away from all three of them.

Simon yelped as another one of the dogs paws kicked him, sending him under once more and onto a rock, pain jarring up from his front paw as he attempted to get out of the water. He didnt notice the big dog leave, entirely focused on getting himself out of the water without drawing. He finally managed to drag himself out, blood seeping out of his shoulder and paw from struggling in the water. The black wolf glanced around, feeling panic when he saw a limp figure laying on the bank, and he could tell it was Rory. He limped over to her, letting out a worried whine, nudging her with his muzzle before grabbing her by her scruff, wishing she was smaller so he could carry her better. He began to attempt to drag his friend, wincing every time he put weight on his paw. It was probably no more than a small fracture, but that combined with worry and exhaustion was making this task harder. He varely heard the whistle while he was in the water, and so was confused and wary, thinking the dogs were still there.

The dog let out a sharp yelp of pain, but surprisingly enough, didn't turn to face Corbin, despite the fact that it could've probably easily taken on the slightly smaller wolf. Whatever or whoever it was trying to get back to clearly mattered way more. The dog strained to free itself from Corbin's grip, letting out a desperate whine. Finally, it tore free, with a howl, and sprinted away from Corbin, not even bothering to engage the werewolf.
Rory let out a weak whine as he began to drag her away from shore. She was dazed and confused, and with the last of her strength, she shifted into a hare, which caused her so much pain, combined with the shock and trauma from the attack, she blacked out, going limp.

Simon let out a worried whine when she shifted and went limp, knowing something had to be seriously wrong if she blacked out. The black wolf began to make his way slowly towards where he heard the howls, going painstakingly slow now that he could barely use his paw, worry and fear coursing through him. He wanted to who for help but knew it wouldnt be a good decision, not with how there was clearly a hunter in their territory. He felt a surge of anger at that- how dare they go into their territory, and, most importantly, this was illegal in the human world too- this was still property of the estate. He soon came to the dog attempting to escape Corbins grasp and a low growl emitted from the black wolf's throat, momentarily forgetting about his bad paw as he set his friend down and shot forward, biting down on the dogs front leg, wanting to send the hunter a clear warning: if you come here again there will be consequences.

The dog cried out again, and finally turned to defend itself from Corbin, snapping at the wolf's face. It missed, only managing to pull a tuft of fur out. It lunged again but was stopped as Simon clamped down on its leg. It suddenly stiffened, its ears pricked as the whistle sounded again. It made a low pitched whining sound in its throat and wrenched itself free, clearly desperate to return to whoever was blowing the whistle. As it ran from them, it didn't see Rory lying on the ground as a rabbit and stepped on her front leg. The delicate bone could be heard breaking as the dog ran over her, howling in pain.

Simon let out a small yelp as the dog wrenched itself free, attempting to stay on all three legs, forgetting about his bad paw, pain shooting up his leg as he tried to right himself, furthering his injury. He stiffened when he watched the dog run over Rory and the wolf limped forward, grabbing the rabbit carefully and turning towards Corbin, a nervous look in his eye. In all honesty, Corbin could get his friend back to the pack much quicker than he could, and he hated having to pass her off but if she could get help quicker then he'd be willing to risk it. He let out an annoyed noise when the other werewolf darted off, a low growl emitting from his throat as he made his slow journey back to the house. After what seemed like forever he managed to make it back, his fur still slick from the river, shaking uncontrollably, his own wounds making it hard for him to make it to the door. He let out a high pitched whine, hoping someone was there to hear it.

Exhausted and injured from the fight with two wolves, the dog wasn't hard to catch. It turned to face Corbin once again, baring its teeth, which glinted in an odd way. Unlike the dog that had attacked Simon in the river, several of this dog's teeth appeared to have been pulled out and replaced with ones made of silver, which were slightly sharper than its normal teeth. This was only made clear now, as the dog had not fought back as hard before. --- Back at the house, Shane was laying on Elliot's bed, reading a magazine when she sat up suddenly. The window always open and she thought she heard something. She stood up and went to the window, peering out. A large, soaking wet black dog sprinted by the house. Furrowing her brow at the sight, she stiffened when she scented blood on the dog. And not just the dog's blood. "Elliot!" she murmured. "Something's wrong." She left the room without waiting and hurried down the hallway, taking the stairs two at a time. She burst into Phillip's study without knocking. "Phillip, I think something's wrong. Simon and Corbin, they're in trouble. I saw this big black dog run by the house and it reeked of blood," she said, fear and panic in her voice.

Simon felt himself fall over, too tired to actually make it to the door, the combination of the run, the fight, and the injuries making it too hard for him to make it to the door. He had lain Rory down gently before hand, sensing the swaying in his gate before he fell to his side, a medium-sized paw resting protectively over the rabbit as he let out another pained whine, hoping someone would hear. -- Elliot had been napping, his head resting on her stomach before Shane got up, much to the discontent of the young adult. He let out an aggravated murmur before sitting up, being able to scent the blood, too. He shot up, ignoring the faint whimper he thought he heard, thinking it was nothing as he shot down the stairs so he could follow Shane. -- Phillip glanced up, pausing mid sketch as the two came in. He tipped his head to one side, frowning. "Is there any sign of them?" He asked worriedly, setting his pencil down and studying his two pack members carefully. He ran a hand through his medium-length hair, now no longer tied back neatly, the concern clear on his features.

The dog let out a strained whine of pain as Corbin's jaws hit their target. The whistle sounded once more and despite having the wolf's jaws locked around its windpipe, it continued to stagger awkwardly backwards, struggling for air as blood streamed steadily out of the fatal wound. --- Shane shook her head. "No, I--" she stopped midsentence, tilting her head, barely hearing the sound Simon made. She frowned and turned around, heading for the front door. Right as she opened it, the sound of the dog whistle blowing caught her attention, right as she spotted Simon lying on the ground, his paw resting protectively over a rabbit, which she could only assume was Rory. "Phillip!" she yelled, rushing to Simon's side.

Simon could scent Shane and the rest of the pack, hearing her call out for the alpha. The juvenile wolf shifted his paw away from Rory, letting out a low, worried whine and staring at the rabbit intently. His other front paw was sticking at an odd angle, but now that he was laying down he felt no pain, and he nudged the rabbit gently, another whine in rising in his throat.
Elliot bent over Simon, as if to try to check his bleeding shoulder and ear but the black wolf snapped at him, letting out a low growl, wanting Rory to be checked. Phillip strode behind them, body tense with worry as he heard the dog whistle, knowing that it must mean hunters in estate property. They must have been upwind, it isn't like Simon to not notice strange scents. He thought as he gently picked up the rabbit.

The dog gave one last desperate attempt to free itself, before trembling and falling to the ground, its throat rattling as it breathed its last breath. Its paws twitched and its mouth lolled open, the silver teeth glinting in the moonlight. --- Shane gently rested a hand on Simon's shoulder. "Simon, where's Corbin?" she asked him urgently, her voice calm and collected. "Is he hurt?"
Rory's tiny front left leg was broken and hanging at an angle. Her back right leg had stopped bleeding from the bite she'd sustained, but shifting into a rabbit had been a dangerous move, as rabbits were prone to contracting dangerous infections from the bacteria in their predator's saliva.
