I'm glad they are at least trying to bring the mentor apprentice bond back.
Now time to bring back the journey to the Moonpool thing for apprentices.

I'm glad they are at least trying to bring the mentor apprentice bond back. Now time to bring back the journey to the Moonpool thing for apprentices. I think they stopped doing that cause the lake is immensely larger than the older territories, and you cross way more territories. Imagine how hard it would be for RiverClan cats to get Moonpool...

It does give me some throwbacks to some decent mentor-apprentice relationships in the past.

Who touched my apprentice? Who sneezed on my apprentice? Cue Ivypool showing up and slugging somecat in the face for just sneezing on her apprentice.

Don't really like it, because Ivypool is again in the focus. I like her more with Alderheart. You're judging the relationship just because Ivypool is being the focus of the attention and not how they're bonding together? We don't see these type of relationships anymore - back in the original series we'd see how the apprentices felt safe and affectionate around their mentor. It was love they felt for each other - kind of like a second parent. Ivypool stood up for Twigpaw against Needletail, and that must mean there was some type of bonding moments between them. I'm not fond of how they used Ivypool again myself, but I like her with Twigpaw a lot. She clearly feels safe and protected around Ivypool, who is a strong character that isn't afraid to attack others who threaten her apprentice.

Kinda wished Rowanstar mentored Violetpaw himself seeing as he was so adamant on taking Violetpaw for Shadowclan. I mean, if I was leader and I thought a kit was destined for some prophecy, I'd keep a close eye on it. That, and Rowanstar is certainly more honorable than alot of the others, I'll give him that much.

A background character as Twigpaw's mentor would be better. Ivypool is shown as the big hero who is protecting Twigpaw. She becomes overused and favored just as Mapleshade.

Whereas with Ivypool, at least she's having a different story that won't be so predictable. I hate Mapleshade but I can tolerate Ivypool a little more.

Ivypool is not like Mapleshade, but what they have in common is that they were used very often in the last time. And i don't understand why everyone thinks that Ivypool is going to be ThunderClans next leader. She is most likely going to have Fernsong's kits, therefore she wouldn't have enough time for leader duties. I know that Fernsong is a stay at home dad, but the kits need their mother too because the mother nurses her kits. I think that Twigpaw is ThunderClans next leader, and Ivypool was chosen as her mentor to teach her everything because she is one of the best warriors. She will pass her skills on Twigpaw. And Ivypool's skills will make Twigpaw ThunderClans leader. Ivypool will choose family over leadership. Twigpaw and Hawkwing will find out that they are father and daughter but Twigpaw wouldn't join SkyClan because she has grown up in ThunderClan. Squirrelflight is probably not going to make it to leadership, i think she will be killed. Ivypool and Dovewing will have a lot of kits.Twigpaw would be perfect as leader. She would break Firestar's blood reign because she is not his kin!

Ivypool isn't overused, she was a protagonist in the previous series so of course we're going to still see her.
Overused is Mapleshade popping up in Tiger, Goose, and Crooked's books, her own book, and then in the final battle of the dark forest. I like Mapleshade, a lot, but the Erins have this tendency to put her everywhere.
Also so what if Ivypool is Twigpaw's mentor?? Exactly what other cat should even get her instead? Snowbush, Sparkpelt, Ambermoon, Fernsong, Dewnose, Stormcloud, Hollytuft, Sorrelstripe, Leafshade, and Honeyfur are all relatively new warriors, it's too early for them to have an apprentice.
The only other cats that could have gotten Twigpaw was Lilyheart, but she's technically her foster mother, so no. Or Berrynose. Honestly I'm wondering why the Erins haven't given him an apprentice ages ago, maybe some cats just aren't suitable to be mentors is all. The only other cat besides him would be Dovewing. Literally there is only two other choices, Berrynose or Dovewing.

I doubt she'll get deputy after Squirrelflight though? She'll probably be a queen at that point, so another cat will be deputy. And then they'll probably kick the bucket before she becomes deputy at that point. Then she'll make it to leadership if Bramble is lower on lives by the time she becomes deputy.

She choosed ThunderClan over her sister even when she missed her so much. And with Ivypool as mentor she is going to be a good warrior.

I can't see a way for Ivypool to leadership. Bramblestar is ThunderClans leader at the moment, i think he still has all of his 9 lives, when he dies Squirrelflight would be too old or probably dead for a while. And when she dies or retire he must choose a new deputy. Even if Squirrelflight make it to leadership i don't think she would choose Ivypool as deputy, i just don't see it. Bramblestar or Squirrelflight would probably appoint Lionblaze as deputy, one of his kits or even Sparkpelt over her, Brackenfur would be too old. And when Lionstar is leader THEN it could be possible that Ivypool or Dovewing would be his deputy because he had a good friendship with them and he knows they have potential for leadership. But it could also be possible that he don't want to be leader, and then Ivypool has the opportunity.

I agree that it's too early for Leafshade, Honeyfur and Larksong to have an apprentice, they need to settle down at first. But Snowbush and his siblings? I mean when Snowbush is old enough to have his own kits then why shouldn't he be ready to have an apprentice? The same with Fernsong and his siblings, i think it has nothing to do with how old a cat is. They are all warriors now and should be able to pass their knowledge down on the apprentices. The sooner the better. Just Dovewing and Berrynose as mentors? What about Mousewhisker, Bumblestripe, Rosepetal, Lionblaze, Cinderheart, Poppyfrost and Birchfall. (Birchfall never had an apprentice, just like Dovewing and Berrynose) No, it must be someone special like Ivypool.

(Birchfall never had an apprentice, just like Dovewing and Berrynose) No, it must be someone special like Ivypool. Being old enough to have a mate and being given the privilege to have an apprentice...are literally two different things. Apprentices aren't allowed to have mates, not because they can't have kits, but because it's deemed as a distraction to their training. Also the Erins went out of their way to even show how bad of an idea it is to give younger warriors apprentices so soon, like Rowanstar for example, and how much disapproval he got for doing this. By your logic, cats should be able to have apprentices as soon as they're warriors, just like being able to have a mate. Any one who's read the first two AVoS books already know how bad of a leader Rowanstar is too. Fernsong and his siblings were just newly made apprentices in BrS, we're literally only in the second book of the series that follows BrS. So yes, he and his siblings are too young imo, the same goes with Snowbush. Having a mate doesn't = being able to have an apprentice. Mousewhisker got Bumblestripe. Bumblestripe got Seedpaw, and after her Leafshade. Rosepetal got Molewhisker, Fernsong and Larksong. Lionblaze got Dovewing. Cinderheart got Ivypool. Poppyfrost got Lilyheart. And I missed Birchfall. But considering what he did in the last arc I doubt Bramble is ready to give him an apprentice just yet. I also think it's strange that you dislike Ivypool geting Twigpaw because she had screentime, when Lionblaze is one of the cats you mentioned, and he has had 2x more screen time than Ivypool ever had. Not to mention Ivypool was in no way special like Lionblaze, Lionblaze literally had powers, lol. I honestly don't understand why it's so bad that Ivypool is Twigpaw's mentor you make it seem like she has some sort of special powers, or she's part of the prophecy, when she wasn't even part of the last prophecy. Ivypool is literally one of the most down to earth protagonist we've had so far in the sereis next to Hollyleaf, who also wasn't part of any prophecies nor had any special powers, etc. Heck, Ivypool isn't even the kit of some forbidden romance drama either, like?? I mean its not like Lionblaze is no longer the strongest cat in the clan and is down right reckless in batter without his powers anymore so Bramblestar wanted to put Twigpaw in the hands of someone he deemed as reliable and also capable of protecting her. Ya know like one of his more skilled fighters, runnerup to Lionblaze with his handicaps. Yeah.
