Violetpaw is a brat in my opinion, so I don't like her. I blame Needletail for her attitude though. She corrupted Violetpaw and made her the way she is. I don't get why Violetpaw even likes Needletail when it's all her fault Violetpaw's life is so bad.

I don't know what I can add to the discussion earlier; I've never really experienced abuse.
Violetpaw is still young, and easily manipulated. Needletail convinced her that she (Needle) was Violet's only true friend, and that it was the same vice versa, and that Needle was looking out for Violet always. And why shouldn't Violet believe that? After all, Needle's the one who saved her life, right?
While Violet has had, on multiple occasions, the opportunity to leave ShadowClan and the rogues, she doesn't. Because she truly believes that Needle is who she should be with. Needle was always kind to her through apprenticeship, and she would be too young to remember Lilyheart in ThunderClan.
All the bad decisions Violet may have made and the hate she's gotten, Needle's been behind it all. Attacking Twig was all Needle's idea. And while Rain might be influencing Needle a little bit as well, Needle is just a bad cat ... while Violet isn't. Violet isn't bad, so much as manipulated to seem so. Why wouldn't you listen to your "best friend", who is a warrior as well.
All the people saying Violet/Twig is like Ivy/Dove, I don't agree at all. While the relationship may seem similar, the former pair has been emotionally shocked on multiple occasions. Losing their parents, being separated ... all these things can lead to impaired foresight and bad decisions. Ivy and Dove, on the other hand had their parents close by, and the situation was quite different.
If we imagine the rogues as the Dark Forest, Dove never tried to pull Ivy out - and Twig never tried to push Violet further in. You can't compare Violet and Ivy, because Ivy chose to stay in the DF while Violet is being pressured to do so. It may seem like Violet had the choice to leave, but she couldn't really. Needle would just have brought her back again. And believe me, it's very hard to back out of relationships like that. If you do, you need friends close by to support you ... which Alder and Twig tried to do, but not really enough.
I think in Shattered Sky, Violet will have a big decision to make. I have no idea what she'll choose, but I have a slight feeling that Needle will win her over and Twig/Violet will go from Dove/Ivy to Bramble/Hawk.

Something I've noticed, Needletail hasn't physically abused Violetpaw yet.
And considering how Needletail is, I think at one point or another it'll happen. Needletail has been shown to enjoy fighting, and even lashed out at Twigpaw that one time.
My guess is that one day she'll eventually turn on Violetpaw if she ever disobeys her or stands up to her. She did threaten her that one time after she returned back to ShadowClan.

I like her! A whole lot. I like her more than Twigpaw. She just seems like more of a tragic character
Also how do some of you guys know about Shattered Sky I thought it comes out in April

I'm actually a bit dissappointed because I wanted to see Dawnpelt as a mentor more to Violetpaw.
