The town drew Phallon's attention as they passed, taking in the sounds and sight of the tiny village. She was curious to see what the village held, and for a moment she thought that's where they were heading. However, she was proven wrong as they turned in a different direction. She was just about to ask how much further they would have to go, but her question was never spoken. Before them stood a yellow house with a garden that looked as if the planter had no specific layout in mind. Like the flowers just grew wherever they pleased. Then there was the table out in the middle of the yard. It was such an odd place to put a table, and the items scattered all over the surface were just as random. Yet what was even stranger was the pile of hats. The girl stared at the hats, not sure what to think of it. "I take it we're in the right place," she mumbled more to herself than anyone.
A moment later confirmed her suspicion as Eamon called out to his friend. She hung a step or two outside the door, not wanted to barge into someone's home. Then a new, smiling face appeared before them. Phallon was shocked. He looked nothing like she had been imagining. She was expecting someone older, someone with a wilder, messy look to them. The man in front of them was young, composed, and had a clear laugh. If it wasn't for the way he rambled on, she would have guessed this was not the person they were looking for. She listened as he spoke to Eamon, not realizing she was staring at him until he had turned his gaze on her.
"I'm Phallon," she introduced herself, not sure if she should offer a hand to shake or not.

"Phallon, what a nice name," Joachim replied with a bright smile. "I'm Joachim but most people call me Hatter just like most people call Eamon Rabbit." He turned to Eamon, seeming to realise something. "What should we call her? What does she do? We can't just go around calling her Phallon, she needs a title, something to-"
Eamon waved a hand, cutting him off and, while he had a chance, spoke. "She's human, Kim. As in, from Earth. She must've come here when I flipped, somehow. You know, like that blonde girl a while ago only that one came her herself and I brought this one."
Joachim laughed again, though this was a different kind. It was mildly amused and a little confused, unlike his previous, much simpler laugh. "And you've come to leave her with me, huh? Like you did with Alice?" So that had been her name. "Might be nice, having some company. The townsfolk avoids me you know, say I talk too much and don't sit still long enough to spend time with but I think that's rubbish. I'm wonderful. I could cook for two. That's twice as much to do, twice the things to fill the time with."
"I'm not leaving her with you," Eamon said. It didn't seem to phase his friend, who either hid his disappointment or possibly relief well or just wasn't surprised. "We're here to pick your brain. I need to know if you remember how Alice left Wonderland."

Joachim nodded. "Looking for a story, huh?" he said, clearly happy with that. "I have a great one about Alice, but we should probably sit down somewhere first. It's too long to go over over the threshold." He turned and walked inside, disappearing around a corner without inviting them in.
Eamon glanced at Phallon and nodded, then followed. The house was meticulously kept, everything tucked away just where it belonged and making an easy kind of sense. It was clear that the chaos stayed outside and never touched the interior. Eamon walked through the living room into the even neater kitchen. Despite the baking that was definitely still taking place, even the dishes were piled away so neatly they almost disappeared. Joachim was standing by the table, plating up a wide array of biscuits on a plate and setting out a teapot and matching cups, one more than they'd need. Eamon didn't question it.
"Sit down!" Joachim said cheerily. "Eat some biscuits, have some tea. It won't get cold for a while yet," his eyes glimmered with humour and Eamon immediately understood why. The cottage was suspended in time now, preserving the cookies in the oven, the heat of the tea and even the sun's position in the sky. He laughed, amused, and shook his head slightly. "It really will be a long one, huh?"
( if it feels like Joachim and Eamon are interacting too much, I apologise. once he gets to the actual story-telling, he'll focus more on Phallon. )

(Don't be sorry! That's just the scene we're at. I'm sorry if I' not doing a good job throwing Phallon into their conversations. I'll try to fix that as soon as she is able to freely ask more questions to the Hatter.)
The orderly house was a shocking contrast to the yard outside. While there had been piles of junk strewn everywhere, there was hardly anything out of place inside. Even the kitchen, which Joachim had stated he had been cooking in, showed no sign of dirty dishes or any mess among the counter or table to prove he had indeed been cooking. Only the smell of the freshly made treats and tea was proof of the baking. Taking a seat at the table, Phallon awkwardly glanced between the two males. She hesitated about taking anything to eat or drink, wary of what might happen if she did. If this really was Wonderland, then consuming things could cause some weird effects.
She didn't understand the inside joke shared between the two of them, nor did she ask about what he meant. "How long is it, exactly?" she asked. "Was there a lot involved with Alice's attempts to leave?"

( alright, thanks c: you're doing just fine, too. )
Unlike Phallon, Eamon didn't hesitate to grab a biscuit and pour himself some tea. He leant forward against the table, dunking his biscuit into his tea. Joachim sat down next to him but paid him very little mind, instead looking across the table at Phallon with barely contained curiosity,
"Oh, definitely," he said, reaching to pour himself some tea, too. "We even got the queen involved for a little bit, but that didn't last." He ignored Eamon's look of surprise and continued without acknowledging it. "Very little ever lasted with that girl," he said, shaking his head despite the small smile playing on his lips. "She was... flighty, I guess. Messy. I still have nightmares about the state she left my house in. She left her things all over the place. She didn't even bring anything here, god knows where she got it all from. She wasn't much better at sticking to things, either. And not like me when I talk, at least I stick to the topic even if I say more than I should - yes, I know I do that," he added quickly, not ignoring Eamon's raised eyebrows this time. "She never finished a project, did three things at once to keep herself from getting bored. That meant trying option after option after option, doing things I still find ridiculous in an attempt to leave."
He took a brief break, taking a sip of his tea to clear his head. "Anyway, where was I? Right, how long did it take? Well, she was here for several months. She left here in the summer and she arrived in autumn, so six at least. We spent most of that trying to figure out a way for her to leave if that gives you an idea of how long it might take to go through this?"

( absolutely ^^ )
"The story," Joachim mused. "Yes, Eamon's mentioned it. He even brought a copy back for me, the first time he saw one. I haven't read it, but I hear it's very amusing. But that bit sounds about right. No time at all would pass in your world. Isn't that right, Eamon?"
Eamon found that Joachim was staring at him expectantly, so he nodded hurriedly. "Yeah. Almost, anyway. Parallel worlds don't have to operate on the same logic since they don't cross." He illustrated this with his hands, placing one over the other. "Only a few seconds will have passed since I flipped last. Remember how we don't age? Yeah, that's not the only thing that's different about time here. It passes at a different pace. And unlike on Earth, it's not consistent, either. Sometimes it's slower than yours by a huge margin, sometimes far quicker. And the fact that Kim can play around with it - stop it, turn it back, whatever - doesn't really help."
Joachim looked strangely proud at that, squaring his shoulders and giving a small smile. "Eamon's not the only one who can do things others can't," he said. "He can move through space, and I can move time. We have shapeshifters, too, and creatures that look different from everyone around them. I hear that's not what it's like on Earth? You're all the same? That must be so boring. Predictable." He drained his teacup and went to refill it, not setting the pot down right away once he had. "Some tea? Biscuits? I promise, they're perfectly edible."

Joachim poured her a cup, pleased, then set the pot back down on the table. He leant forward, a thoughtful frown on his face. He quirked a slight smile. "We couldn't possibly start at the end!" he exclaimed. "I may not be a master storyteller, but even I know that's not the right order to do these things in. You start at the beginning so that the story makes sense." Next to him, Eamon shot Phallon a look. He didn't know how she was supposed to interpret it, really, but he said nothing. Joachim was a great person until he spotted weakness. Then he'd drive you up the wall.
"Actually," he said, a little too hopefully. "The best storytellers start with the best part. That way the audience gets engaged with the story right away." Joachim considered this, but quickly disregarded it.
"No, it should make sense," he determined. "It's not my fault if you're not 'engaged with the story'." Eamon sighed but didn't press any further. That wouldn't help the situation. "So, it all started when Eamon, too lazy to clean up his own messes, arrived on my doorstep with a girl. How old was she? She looked like a teenager, right?"
"14, maybe 15," Eamon supplied, and Joachim beamed.
"Right. Earth years confuse me. Not my fault all I've ever known are teenagers that have been that way since any of us can remember. How am I supposed to know how old someone looks when the people that look the same here are just as old as we are? It's ridiculous. Good thing you've only brought two of them." Eamon drank his tea and nodded, which seemed to satisfy Joachim because he continued. "Anyway, a teenager. 14, was it? She said her name was Alice and explained where she was from. Eamon told me where he'd found her, with Absolem. Good thing he was busy, she wouldn't have appreciated a chat with him and she wouldn't have wanted his food, either. He took her to me, he said, because she was human and he needed to get her back. Something about 'the worlds are separate for a reason, Kim, help me for god's sake!' Or something to that effect, anyway. As usual, he conveniently forgets that they aren't separate because he links them and I doubt he even knew what those reasons were, but I digress.
"So he's already told her where she is but he has no idea how he got there, and says that's where I come in. 'Do the time thing, Joachim!' So I do the time thing, but that doesn't help, and only then does Alice say that she doesn't want to go home at all because 'there's magic here, Hatter! I can feel it and now I've seen it too.'" He gestured wildly as he spoke, mimicking his friend with deadly accuracy and even taking on a voice tinted with the same Irish lilt. Even Alice got her own voice, one a little too similar to that of a rich teenage girl for it to be comfortable. At least you couldn't claim he wasn't dedicated. "And Eamon is saying that she has to go and she's crying - she behaved like a six-year-old, really, didn't she? - and he just looks at me and says that he's 'too old for this' as if we aren't the same age. And then he takes her inside, puts her on a chair and feeds her some of my biscuits - which of course shut her up. You really should have one, dear - and then he looks at me, apologises, turns back to her and says that I'll look after her now and leaves. I take it you haven't cried yet?"
( ahhhh, writing chatty characters makes for monster posts c': I'm not going to go on, I'll continue later maybe, but I think right now they need to focus on getting him to summarise this story so I don't have to start writing 600-1000 words for more than two posts in a row... like, this could go on (and probably should because Joachim really wouldn't shut up yet) but I'm too lazy so I guess the next one will be even longer if we don't find a way to stop him. )

Phallon caught Eamon's look, and she felt as if she had just asked one of those questions that would set off his rambling nature. When Joachim began speaking, that guess was confirmed. Sighing, she settled back into her seat and prepared for the long story that was in store for her. It was really hard for her not to make any comment during the tale, yet she sipped her tea to keep her words at bay.
As long as the explanation was, there were details given to her that were surprising. In the story she knew, it depicted Alice as a young girl of six to ten. She never would have guessed that she would have been fourteen. "That sounds like Eamon," she commented when Kim impersonated the boy, taking a biscuit from one of the plates. "I've haven't found reason to cry yet, and I'm hoping I don't start any time soon. Anyway, maybe you could focus on the part where Alice's journey? After all, we could be here all day with you telling us everything about how Eamon did or didn't help."
(I agree. If you don't want to write out a monster reply, don't. I won't blame you. You can just write small replies until they figure out a way to summarize things.)

( alright, we'll see what happens ^^ I tend to start rambling and only regret it once it's done and 45 minutes have passed cx )
Eamon glanced to his friend. "Please. It's embarrassing. I don't need to be reminded of what I should have done. And she doesn't need to know either." He raised a single eyebrow and gave a somewhat pleading look. Once again, he wasn't entirely sure what this was supposed to mean, but this time that was the point. By letting Joachim fill in the gaps himself, he'd get what he wanted much faster. The way around the Hatter was simple. Make him feel like he was making the choices.
Meanwhile, Joachim's mouth made a little o shape. He seemed to realise something, gave a reassuring smile and nodded. "Not to worry, I'll make sure to gloss over your gross incompetence as we move forward." He lay a hand on Eamon's shoulder and squeezed. He knew it was supposed to be comforting, but the knowing look on Joachim's face mostly made Eamon uncomfortable.
"So, where was I? Right, Eamon had just left. Alice was eating biscuits, which made her calm enough, so I asked her how she got here. She mentioned falling through a rabbit hole-" He paused, looking as if he wanted nothing more than to circle back to Eamon and his pseudonym, but continued. "-but said that she didn't know how she'd found it or where it was anymore. So I started reading and found some interesting things. People can't leave here of their own accord, you know, but there are stories. People have disappeared without a trace - and in a place like this, that just doesn't happen - and never returned. I did some digging and realised that they'd all vanished from the Queen's castle, or more specifically, her gardens. I know what you're thinking, 'off with her head' and all that, but we always know when she's had someone executed.
"So we went there, she and I, to try to figure it out. We didn't find much, but I heard from Cheshire that she went back, after she left me to keep looking on her own. I don't know if she found anything then, either, but I know she vanished, too, not long after I got the news." He went to reach for a biscuit, and Eamon seized the opportunity.
"Do you miss her? It must have been hard to spend so much time with her only to never see her again." It may seem like a counterproductive thing, prompting him to talk about himself, but Eamon had found that this was the best way to get information. You couldn't ask about an event, but you could ask about his emotions at any given moment and get information that way.
Joachim sighed, breaking off a piece of his biscuit. "Of course I miss her. She was a wonderful girl. But I'm glad she left. She was ready to go home then, I think, and that probably made a huge difference. If she'd wanted to stay, Wonderland would have kept her even longer. We'd just decided to see Caterpillar the night before, to see what information he had - he hoards it -" he added, looking at Phallon to clarify, "on leaving. He must have done a study on it at some point, I thought. In the morning, she was gone. Took every last biscuit with her, too. Probably to give me something to do, the sweetheart. She took the raisin ones and she hated those."
"You went to see Cedric? Voluntarily?" Eamon asked, unable to help himself he was so surprised. It wasn't that he disliked the guy, he just didn't exactly enjoy his company. And for Joachim, it was worse. Absolem and Hatter were about as opposed as they came without actively going for blood whenever they saw each other. Cedric had asked Joachim to shut up too many times, and Joachim had refused to drop it too often. The two never saw each other anymore. In fact, Eamon couldn't remember the last time they met on friendly terms.
Joachim shrugged him off, though he didn't protest the surprise. "Yes, yes, voluntarily. Well, I never did end up going, did I - my god was I grateful I didn't have to - but you know as well as I do that he's the most likely to have actually looked into this before. You don't think the first thing he did when you gave him that book was to read it all the way through three times before attempting to figure out how to leave this place to see where it had come from? You have met him? Not going to see him would be stupid." He was silent for a few moments. The frown on his face implied thoughtfulness, but the glint in his eye said that he'd already done all his thinking and that the pause was entirely intentional. "Oh, sorry, we were going to gloss over your incompetence, weren't we?"

(lol, but your posts are so beautiful! You make it look so easy. While I'm over here struggling to maintain one character and make her look interesting. XD )
"So she said she physically fell down the rabbit hole," Phallon mused. "Yet at the end of the story, it revealed that it had been nothing more than a dream. Surely she couldn't have taken anything from this world back with her, not unless she grabbed the biscuits and carried them with her until she reached the spot she disappeared from."
She was trying her best to think of some logical explanation to things, but so far, she couldn't see one. People don't just vanish into thin air, and if they do, then there's usually a reason or a person behind the disappearance. That goes for this world too. Even if Eamon could appear and disappear at will, they all knew the reason for it. Well, at least everyone here did. She was still confused and didn't want to spend too much time thinking about it.
"You said she visited the Queen, and that seems to be where a lot of people disappear. How did the Queen feel about Alice? Do you think she might have had something to do with her disappearing?"

( well, thank you c: I'm glad you think so, I'm always worried my posts detoriate really quickly past a certain length. )
"You need to remember," said Eamon, "that the story was probably based on Alice's retelling of what happened down here. And also that she was a young girl. It may have felt physical but been something else. Nobody knows what the difference between Earth and Wonderland is, not even people here. To you, and Alice, it might make sense for it to be a dream. Maybe it is. But nobody knows for sure what it is and what it isn't/."
Joachim waved a hand. "Yes, yes, wonderland is separate, Alice claims it's a dreamland, yes, boring. It doesn't really matter how it works, does it?" He drained his teacup, but this time he didn't refill it. "The Queen. She may have had something to do with it, definitely. But if it was an execution or even just murder, we would have heard about it by now. The Queen likes to let people know who she does and doesn't have killed. Helps keep us all in line. It's one of the reasons we never wonder where people are when they vanish. It's more likely that, if the Queen did have a role to play in it, she did so in a way she doesn't understand. She'd hate to advertise her lack of understanding."
Eamon sighed. "We can't know that either, though, can we." This was shaping up for quite a trek, and he wasn't sure he was really looking forward to it all that much. "I can see why you'd go to the Caterpillar for help. Nobody really knows anything about this, huh?"
( well, would you look at that? a normal sized post! wow! )

( I used to feel like that a lot, too. but I've been writing more or or less non-stop since I got comfortable with the English language, so now that's not something I even think about. sometimes I kind of wish I could keep my writing concise instead, I tend to ramble on and on and on and say a little too much. )
Joachim laughed in disbelief, shaking his head. "He is certainly not coming here. Not only would he rather die than sit down for tea with me, I would rather die than sit down for tea with him. And that's me saying that, I never turn down some tea and biscuits."
Eamon rolled his eyes. "Don't invite him then. It really is that simple. Really, both of you act like children. Get over it." He shook his head and sighed, turning to Phallon, looking both amused and exasperated. "I think it'd be best if we go to him. Avoid the bloodshed if we can." He sighed again, rubbing his temples in a way that made him seem suddenly older. Joachim slapped his arm, but the good-natured smile on his face said that this was all a joke, and on both sides, too.
"Whatever, Lewis," he said, leaning back in his chair. "He doesn't like me, either. This hatred is mutual. Ask him, if you have to."
"I don't," replied Eamon without a moment's hesitation. He'd witnessed it first hand for more years than he knew how to count.

(Well, in this case, rambling is what you're aiming for. XD If it means anything, your replies don't seem to ramble on. They're perfect. ^^ ) (Also, Cheshire is still in progress. I will get his description up soon because I didn't know when you thought would be a good time to introduce him. If I don't, feel free to ignore me until I do complete him. XD )
"I'll take your word for it," Phallon muttered. While she had no proof of the hatred shared between the two characters, the fact that both men were still alive showed that either their relationship wasn't that bad, or that something or someone always got in the way before one or the other could actually die. "I take it that you're not going to accompany us to go visit him then?"
(I may have her remember the accident, or at least some of it, during their time with Caterpillar. Doesn't that sound okay? Or should we wait until she meets the Queen/near the end of her time in Wonderland for her to remember everything?

( that is very true. it comes in handy when I have characters that ramble on in the same way I do. and hank you ^^ it definitely does mean something <3 ahaha, no, we never discussed that, did we? you have some time I'd say, we can always put it off until you're done or something cx and she can remember whenever you think she should! if that's while they're with Caterpillar, that's perfectly alright with me ^^ )
Joachim shook his head. "No, that would do more harm than good. Besides, I have to let the people outside get on with their lives. They don't know any better, but if they did, I doubt they'd appreciate being frozen in time like that. And I have biscuits to give out."
"You don't want to look at him, much less talk to him," Eamon corrected.
"Well, yes."
Eamon nodded knowingly. "Yeah, I thought so." He looked over at Phallon, inclining his head slightly. "Do you want to stay here for a while or do you want to leave right away? We have time." Joachim was standing up already, shaking his head as he heard what his friend had to say.
"You mean I'll make time," he said in a way that mirrored Eamon's earlier statement to near perfection.
"Yeah," Eamon agreed, and Joachim muttered something that sounded suspiciously like 'thought so'.

(No, don't say we can put it off. I'll just procrastinate longer. XD I do not want that to happen. I'll have him done soon or so help me! lol Okay. Just making sure because when she remembers, it'll be really major for her, mainly because she'll be worried that she's dead. I didn't know if I wanted her to have a mini break down now, or wait until the near end when Eamon is probably a little more sympathetic towards her. XD )
Phallon felt a small smile finally form on her lips at the last little bantering between the two of them. "It doesn't really matter. I don't want to impose on Joachim if he has important things to take care of, but I get the feeling if we try to hurry, we'll only get slowed down. You know this place better than I do, so you tell me. Is there anything I might need to get before we head over to the Caterpillar? Anyone else we might want to see while we're near the village?" She asked.
Yeah, she wanted to be done with this dream, especially after she had been told it could be months before she left. The sooner the better, right? However, there was a sense of charm bleeding through all the nonsense and confusion. The Hatter's house was small and cozy, and his treats weren't half bad. She knew she couldn't stay long since they weren't really invited guest, and she didn't feel like getting on his bad side.

( cx alright, we can't put it off. the time is now. yeah, I can imagine it would be pretty huge! it's not like you're in a car crash every day. it all depends on what we want to get out of it, I guess. like you said, Eamon would probably be a lot more helpful and comforting at a later point, but things could go in an interesting direction if it happens sooner, too. personally, I'd say maybe she realises something small now - like maybe the fact that she was driving but nothing else - and then the bigger stuff comes back later? I'm not going to actually reply quite yet, I have a few things to do and I'm hoping for an early night, but I wanted to give me thoughts on it before I completely forgot what my first instinct was. )

( alright, it's a plan ^^ )
"We should get something for the road while we're here," Eamon replied. "In the village," he added quickly, seeing Joachim open his mouth to protest. "The Caterpillar's food is generally accepted to be for him only. Unless, of course, you want to turn an ugly shade of green or grow whiskers for a few hours. We won't be getting a meal there." These transformations were temporary, lasting a few hours at best and a few days at worst. Still, it was uncomfortable and not something you wanted to go through more than once. He wasn't sure how Absolem himself managed to eat without suffering the consequences the rest of them did, maybe it had something to do with his own shapeshifting ability, but he didn't really care either.
Joachim was starting to move the dishes from the table, clearly wanting what might turn into a mess gone as soon as possible. Eamon wondered, only for a moment, how it was that Hatter was so careful with the inside of his home, cleaning it meticulously and continuously, yet left the yard in the state it was in. He handed his cup to his friend as it was reached for, but remained sitting. He knew very well that if he went to help, he'd just be swatted away.
"Hey, Joachim," he said, drawing circles on the table in front of him. "Do you mind if I grab that book I got you? You'll get it back, obviously, but I wanted to read through it again at some point. Maybe Alice spoke to Lewis about her journey and what happened when she left you. Other than Cheshire, that's probably the best place to get information on that part of the story."
Joachim waved a hand towards his collection of bookshelves, not turning away from the dishes that somehow were already nearly done. "Go for it. Doubt I'll be reading it anytime soon anyway. Third bookcase, fourth shelf, seven books in." Eamon nodded and went to check. It was exactly where Joachim had said it would be, much to Eamon's awe albeit not surprise. He pulled the book out, seemingly in brand new condition despite the fact that it had been 150 years on Earth since he'd gotten it. "Find it okay?" Joachim called.
"You knew exactly where it was," he replied, as though the question asked had been whether Joachim still knew his home and not if everything had gone well.

( I'm sure he will be! )
Joachim smiled, glancing over at her for a few moments. "Things move faster if I do them myself," he explained with a shrug. He liked things neat and he liked them that way right away. "You may have noticed I don't like to keep my messes." Noticing her cup still in her hand. He frowned but as soon as he'd finished washing his last dish, stepped aside. "By all means, though," he said. "If you do want to help, I'll get out of the way. The dishes go there to dry," he continued, gesturing to a rack that was currently about half-way full.
Eamon snapped the book closed and, after quickly looking around for a place to put it and failing to do so, shifted it between his hands. Once they got into town, he'd be able to pop into his own home and grab a satchel, but for now he'd just have to deal with this mild discomfort. "Did you want something from town?" he asked, returning into the kitchen and touching Joachim's arm to get his attention. "Since we're stopping there anyway." He got a grateful smile and shake of the head in return and he nodded. "Alright then. Let me know if you change your mind."

Eamon nodded. "I think we are," he replied. glancing around the cottage one last time before nodding again. "Kim, thank you for the tea. It was great, as usual. And for the chat."
Joachim smiled and patted him on the shoulder, then turned to Phallon. "Phallon, it was wonderful to meet you," he said, sounding like he meant it. "If you do figure out how to leave, you should stop by here before you do. You could take some biscuits with you or something."

Joachim beamed at that. "I'll make sure to prepare my best ones for you, then." He started towards the door and Eamon followed. The two hugged for a brief few moments, then separated, both raising their eyebrows in what appeared to be a silent question, but no answer ever came.
"I'll see you, yeah? Soon, I can't see myself flipping for a while so there'll be no weird time differences to figure out." Joachim looked as if he'd heard this before, but nodded all the same. "Good luck, then, to both of you. Have a good trip."
"Bye," came Eamon's response, followed by a smile that made it clear that while he was still friendly, he didn't want to spend another ten minutes bidding each other farewell.
"Yeah, bye."

Eamon breathed a sigh of relief as they left, glad that the goodbyes hadn't dragged out even more. With Joachim, farewells were just about as awkward as they got because one of them always came up with something new to say; "bring some cookies," "are you sure you took everything with you," "remember last time we were saying goodbye and then you tripped so it kept going for another ten minutes because it was so funny," the possibilities were endless. That it had been this easy today was impressive for them both.
"Now we go to my place," Eamon said, snatching up a final cookie as they passed the table in the yard again. "I have some things I'll want to bring if we're going out on a trek again. And a bag, too, so I don't have to haul everything in my arms." That'd get uncomfortable real fast.
