Blue blinked. The shuffling in the corn had stopped. He looked around, fearing the worst. The girl seemed unharmed and they weren't attacking at the same time. He twitched, nerves getting to the teen. Maybe they would decide they could pick up the avian hybrids anyways. After all, it wouldn't take long for them to knock out them. Like good little solders, the erasers left. Needless to say, Blue was a bit confused. All the same, he was grateful to the farmer. He promised himself that he would send something to the farmer. Maybe some corn to replace what they had lost.
He quickly picked up his bag. He pocketed the knife just before the girl whispered to him. It wasn't real? Needless to say, now he was confused yet again. He wasn't going to question things. If she wanted to go quickly, then they would run. He scooped her up again and started to jog. This time he made sure to loop and swerve around. This way the dog-like noses the erasers had wouldn't be able to pick them up.
Blue could feel his muscles loosing their strength as he ran. While the lab and the resistance trained him for endurance, he wasn't any sort of Superman. He slowly came to a stop and set the girl down. They were still in the middle of the corn, but far away from their starting point. Hopefully far enough away that the dogs wouldn't chase after them. "We'll rest for a few minutes." He said before sitting down. He couldn't help the sigh that escaped him as he relaxed. The cold, damp ground was welcome after this morning.
(I have to go sorry. )

The girl looked around, pits of corn falling from her sheered off hair, clearly nervous about stopping while being so close to the erasers still. She held her bandaged knee tightly, her foot now covered in dirt as well, and it hurt really bad. "What if they find us? They won't fall for the same trick twice, they aren't that dumb," The eight year old asked, seeing how tired the boy was, but more focused on getting to a safe place than anyones well being. Even though she was so little, she was well aware that this was her one chance at escaping, and she didn't want to ruin it just because some boy got tired, or because she hurt her foot.

He pulled out a water bottle and took a sip. He held out the bottle for her. "Well, we'll just have to make sure they don't find us, yes?" He said, not letting his irritation slip in. It was a bit unnerving to have someone think he didn't think about those things. Erasers finding and capturing them didn't sit well with him. It was a simple question, but not one with the best answer. Now that the girl had let them see her power, the mutts would have to capture her. They might rough her up a bit, especially since she wouldn't go down without a fight, but she would be taken in alive. Him? Blue would guess he would be less lucky and less alive. With the trouble they had caused and Blue not the retrieval list, he might become doggy lunch meat. However, he didn't exactly want to say all of this.

Blue sighed. A little appreciation was too much to ask for apparently. Not that he should expect much. It wasn't like the lab coats caught them any kind of manners and they weren't void of hurt. He took the water back and capped it. "Keep running until we get to the safe house." He answered as he put away the bottle in his bag.
He took out a jacket and put it on. The cuts on his arms and legs weren't that bad, but they stung like crazy. He would take the pain of having his cuts brush against his jacket rather than obtaining new cuts. Blue then stood up. He whipped the sweat on a jacket sleeve. Thankfully, he seemed to have caught his breath and most of the sweat was dry.
"I promise we'll fix that foot when we get to a safe space, but now, I need to carry you." He explained.

"Where's that?" She asked, scooting away from the male, not sure if she wanted to go with him, and wary of him carrying her for a long while. The only times she was carried was when the white coats carried her off for more experiments. But he looks like he's different. She thought, wrinkling her nose and holding her arms tight to her chest, face pinched in worry and pain.
"Why did you ask if I could fly? Are we gonna have to fly there?" She added, eyes clearly worried. She never really used her wings, sometimes they would flap awkwardly when she was nervous, but besides that she never had much use for them. In fact, they where more in the way than anything.

"I can't tell you that. You have to be a member." He said while shaking his head. For a girl eager to go just a minute or two ago, she was sure hesitant now. He didn't want to do anything against the girl's will. With a huff, the man sat down. He crossed his legs and looked at the girl. "It would be easier to escape if you could fly." He explained. For a second, he wondered if all mission went this way. He really hoped not. Dragging around eight year olds and running away from erasers was not the easy mission he was promised. He would have brought some back up if he knew this was happening.

"Hmm, it's more likely that you might have not been able to yet." Blue said, wanting to comfort the young girl. After the words escaped his mouth, he realized they weren't very comforting. They did contain a kernel of truth.
He knew that he had been meant for a different purpose. There was other hybrids that presented with a greater abilities than the rest. He had been born to see if bird type was linked to the ability. The girl had some ability already showing, so it was a possibly that she was in the same boat. He sighed. "It will be fine. I'll get you out and if you want, I'll teach you how to fly. Maybe another member should teach you, as I'm not the best flier myself." He offered a small smile.

Blue smiled, but shook his head. He liked her enthusiasm, but they would have to wait. A girl flapping her wings then taking off would attract the erasers. That was, if she could learn. In the tight space the corn provided, he doubted a new flyer could take off or even flap their wings. "I can, but we will have to do it later." he said before stretching his arms and legs. he moved to pick her up then remembered her disapproval. "How would you like to move?" He asked. He wondered how she planed to get around and what she would choose. In this new world, Blue liked the power of choice and believed everyone should have that power. He didn't want to force the girl do to anything.

He nodded. He saw no other way to carry the girl. Walking was a no and flying wasn't a ability she had, so carrying seemed like the only option. Before they started, they would need to know which direction to do in. Corn fields didn't exactly contain any landmarks or signs. Despite his best efforts, Blue didn't keep track of which direction they turned. He quickly dug out a compass out of his pocket and handed it to her. "I need you to make sure the red arrow is pointing South. It's the 's' symbol. It looks like a snake." He pointed at the direction with his other finger.

"They are other directions." Blue answered when picking up the girl. "I'll teach you them later." This time, he moved slower, but more quietly. Now that they had made distance, he was focusing more not being detected. "Are you on the right path," he froze when he remembered that he had no clue what the girl was called. he normally avoid this topic due to sensitivity, but the younger ones never seems to have a problem. Most of them did not have a name. He supposed it wouldn't be the end of the world if he asked. "what do you call yourself?" He asked, not sure if she knew what a name was.

Blue blinked. That wasn't a good name at all. He had never heard of a lab being that cruel to its subjects. yes, usually they weren't kind, but demon thing seemed a little much. Then again, he could just be getting soft. It had been months since he was near a lab or anyone new from a lab. "Umm...not exactly. You see..." he trailed off. It was hard to explain a name. It seemed like she didn't get the concept and he guessed she wouldn't for a while. Examples may help. "I'm Blue. You can call me Blue. That is my name. It's like your lab code except you get to make it." He explained.

(Thanks ^^)
Chell was flying overhead, her yellow wings flapping somewhat rhythmically. She was still somewhat sloppy, it was her first time out in the open world. And it was amazing. The land itself stretched on for miles, and the sky was just the same. There was so much freedom in it all, and Chell really appreciated it. However, it was also very distracting, and she constantly had to remind herself where to go. It was some old building out in the middle of no where, right? A "gas station", if she remembered correctly. Whatever that meant. She was positive it would be something she'd know when she saw it. Especially since there were supposed to be other escapees there. Well, she was probably going in the right direction, she just haven't exactly spotted it yet. For now, it was just these huge fields. Chell did notice some building around the area. Were those the "gas station"? Potentially. She started flying downwards, hoping she'd be able to see any other hybrids.

Blue's head whirred around. He relaxed when it was not a helicopter but another hybrid. Another hybrid flying toward the meeting stop. The meeting spot that was now crawling with erasers. Of course, things were too peaceful before. Something always had to go wrong when he wasn't being tackled by children or chased by erasers. The teen set down the kid. "Wait here." He said, also dropping his bag. If I don't come back when..." He paused, trying to think of a time that the kid would understand. "The sun starts to set, start going South. There should be people waiting." He unfurled his wings and gave a couple of weak test flaps. He didn't feel any pain or discomfort, so he had to assume he didn't hurt them. He now gave a couple of powerful flaps and slowly climbed into the air. His wings weren't very fast or powerful, unless he was diving, but he could fly. he made it up and started to chase the hybrid. "Hey! Wait!" he shouted. If she got any closer, he would have to leave her. He wouldn't risk his life or the other girl's because they got the eraser's attention again.

Chell paused, hearing someone's voice. A part of her wanted to flee, but she thought that was silly. She was looking for other hybrids, and only the other hybrids can take to the skies, right? When she finally investigated to see who called out to her, she realized that she was correct, it was another hybrid. Chell was relieved, she didn't have to waste time trying to figure out what a "gas station" was and where it was in the landscape.
"Hello!" Chell shouted back to the other hybrid, as she started to fly back towards him. She struggled to keep her balance slightly when turning around, but nonetheless managed to correct herself enough to not fall. The other hybrid seemed friendly enough, although she wondered why he seemed somewhat far from the meeting spot, she didn't remember passing over anything that could resemble this thought in her mind of a "gas station", or did she just not see it?

Blue's wings flapped sporadically as he stopped. He cursed his lack of an ability to actually fly gracefully and he cursed whoever decided to graft a kingfisher with human DNA. Kingfishers were not meant to fly for a long time. They were not graceful either. The could only swoop and dive, which didn't really come in use unless someone or something dropped. Basically, he was a nearly flightless bird with pretty wings. It was embarrassing, especially around the owl or falcon winged. Luckily, this girl seemed to have some bright yellow wings. He was pretty sure no large bird of prey would have those wings. "The meeting spot was moved." He said before waving the other hybrid to follow him. His wings were already starting to tire. He blamed his need to increase speed and stay still. Blue knew his wings weren't that weak. He flew away towards where the other girl waited.

So she was right, she didn't make it to the meeting spot quite yet. Oh well, this was more convenient anyways, although she did have to wonder why the meeting spot was moved. "Alright then," She commented and then followed as the other hybrid started making their way back towards the ground. Chell did notice that the other hybrid seemed to tire, but she decided not to mention it, since he didn't. She was already focused more on the meeting spot and that it was moved. "Any reason why the meeting spot was moved?" Chell then spoke up, curiosity getting the best of her. "I mean, that seems pretty counterproductive. If you didn't find me on my way there, I would have been completely lost. Not that I'm complaining, though."

Blue hesitated. He didn't want to risk telling Chell about the erasers and then having her freak out. He didn't want another runner on his hands. Though he didn't want to have to lie. She could find out the truth from the other girl or he would eventually slip up. He decided to go with a little bit of both. "We were in danger so we moved." He said, not being specific about it. He took two long, slow flaps before letting himself glide back to land. He stumbled when he landed but he considered it a win. He didn't land face first in the dirt. he looked around to find a suspicious absence of the young girl. He would have been worried, expect he didn't hear any screams and the corn didn't look disturbed. He opened his mouth to call for the other girl, but didn't know how to. She didn't have a name. He figured it didn't matter in the end. She could come out when she felt comfortable. He turned. "How much do you know?" He questioned.
