Cali Pherenike The Great Hall
Cali turned as soon as she recognized the voice of the Wardog, her lips fluttering up into a practiced but somewhat surprised smile. Rion wasn't someone she knew incrediably well, but she knew him well enough to have a open conversation. From what she had been told, he was a hothead, but a very hot hothead and he was known for his cold stares (though his face didn't seem cold at the moment). In fact, the first time they met, she was pretty sure he had tried to turn her to stone with his glare. However, they got along well enough simply because they were from the Wardogs and the Furies. Brothers and sisters in a way.
The greek woman's back of her thighs bumped up against the table and she put her weight against it, "Oh, I am sweetie." Running her hand through her black hair, Cali tilted her head slightly in interest. Her eyes trailed over Rion's unmasked face and her smile turned into an amused smirk, "You know Meg right? She threatened to skin me alive if I came to another party without a mask. Truthfully, that would be horrible for my complextion." She snickered then reached out and tapped his check with her pointer finger, "I see you don't have a mask either. So rebelious. What has gotten into you, Wardog?" Laced with sarcasm, her voice was light and humorous, taking up his humor.
(Sorry it is short. I have to get to bed soon and I was rushing.)

No worries! The only reason why I'm up so late is because I'm on spring break anyway. I wrote this at 2:15am so who even knows what types of tangents I was on - Rion didn't like too many people off the bat, so he always tried to turn people to stone the first time he met someone; it was like his own type of initiation. If you didn't turn to stone, chances were he'd probably grow to like you. The Wardogs, and a good handful of Furies, passed that little test; others still got the cold looks on a daily basis. When he found out that he was known for his looks, Rion had preened, only slightly.
Mimicking Cali, who leaned against the table with her back, he leaned against it with his hip and crossed his arms in front of his chest. The girl, who was three years older than him, was, in every sense of the word, hot. Cali knew it, too; she flaunted it shamelessly. Guys openly lusted after her, Rion was no stranger to that. Wardogs, in that charmingly vulgar way only they possessed, freely talked about girls they found attractive, and Cali was almost always brought up. Rion hadn't personally taken part in any of those conversations, but standing this close to her, he could tell why she was brought up. At her remark about her being above the frilly things around them, he simply nodded, his smirk on his face. Until she mentioned Meg. Of course he knew Meg, and could just picture the other girl issuing her threats. He actually shook his head slightly, a dark chuckle paired with it, thanks to the image of Meg and Cali's crack about her complexion. When she tapped his cheek, Rion leaned in, only slightly, a smirk still plastered on his features. In a quick heartbeat, the upper part of his face was covered in shadow, a mask. "Now I do," Rion replied in a jokingly cocky manner, matching the tone of their conversation. "Let me guess. Since we're both so obviously above elementary arts-and-crafts projects, you're scouring the land for a masterpiece, hidden in the masses of grade school work?" At this point, he'd donned a crooked grin.
To most, Rion's face would be disconcerting. Rion's shadows were like tendrils, with minds of their own. They did their job, though, as a mask; the upper part of his face was completely hidden. Paired with pale skin and black clothes, it definitely had an unsettling look to it, to him. However, most people knew he rarely ever used his shadows in an unsettling way. The most he flaunted it, besides right now, was when the toddler daughter of one of the elemental professors came to visit, which wasn't often nowadays. To keep her out of everyone's hair, Rion would usually crouch beside her and act out little stories with miniature people he could make from shadow. It kept the kid entertained, and let everyone know that wasn't a Wardog or in the select group of Furies that he could be a decent person with a friendly temperament when he chose to be.

Cali's stunning yellow eyes widened as the shadow crossed and covered his eyes. The dark shadow shifted slightly as it formed into a mask, waving and rippling with life. Shadows and the way they were manipulated had always mystified her, sometimes confused her. Electricity was natural to her; it made sense both logically and physically. Light and Shadow alike were unusual and hard for her to wrap her brain around. After all, shadow had no physical substance as it was just the absence of light in a certain spot. So wouldn't someone need to be a light manipulator to manipulate the shadows as well? It was one of those things that she chose not to think too hard about. The girl reached out towards Rion's face, head tilted in curiosity. Her fingers moved right through the shadow and bumped his cheek lightly. A smile tugged on her lips, "Amazing. You can make your own mask out of shadows." She clicked her tongue and pulled her hand away, "I'm jealous."
Cali glanced around the Great Hall, "It is how you say, fili mou. I'm trying to find a masterpiece. Since I can't make one like you," she gave him the side eye and put some pretend bite in her voice, "I'm left to dig through all this." She brandished her hand out as if referring to the piles of hurried masks.
The girl ran a hand through her hair and shifted against the table. Her skirt kept riding up and for half a second she regretted wearing the black bottom. Then she rembered why she had settle on it in the first place: it was super cute with the sweater. Fashion over function any day. Cali pulled it down once more and then returned her attention to the issue at hand. Her mask. The one her life depended on, "Would you like to help me look for one, Wardog?" She gave him we most charming smile.
