MacKenzie couldn't look at another textbook, notebook, or even a pencil. This first week had already been hell for her, as each of her instructor's decided to give them what felt like a month's worth of work in the first week back. A warm welcome no? It was going to be her English course this year that would make sure her rear end was handed to her. There was so much to be done, and Mackenzie couldn't focus on where to start.
There wasn't a lot to be happy about today, besides maybe not having to cook tonight. She had to do that yesterday, and it did not go well to say the least. She was running late, as she had procrastinated getting the ingredients until the day of, but realized that by the time she got home, there wouldn't be time to actually make the meal. So instead of being able to make pork loin like she wanted, everyone ate Ramen. She made it herself of course, and Mackenzie does pride herself on her Ramen cooking skills, and tried to mix it up with spices and such, but in the end it was still Ramen. If you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig. She could really only look forward to dinner, since that would give her a valid excuse to nor work on the things she didn't feel like doing tomorrow.
Mackenzie had sleepily taken out her key to the house from her backpack and unlocked the door (given she missed the lock a few times). She sighed as she entered their fun house and mumbled a greeting to Ari before heading to her room. She set down her book bag at the foot of her Star Wars themed bed and flopped on top of the comforter face first. She groaned into the material and rolled over onto her back and stared up at the ceiling. She really didn't want to work on her assignments. Maybe she can hold it off until tomorrow. She normally finds a way to get things done on time, one afternoon of not being productive wouldn't ruin her grades. Hopefully.

rivers black
Rivers let out a frustrated huff as he was tackled to the ground, the ball flying out of his hands. He gave a growl as he pushed the large dude off of him and picked himself off the ground. "Rivers, throw the ball faster next time," the guy snickered as he picked up the ball and threw it at the quarterback. With a roll of his blue eyes, he caught the ball with no issues. "And you need to lose some weight, you heavy child, Parker," Rivers retorted back as he looked around at the team gathering around them. Laughter flowed around the team; Rivers was the best quarterback that Allen University had seen in a very long time and Parker was a great defense linebacker, who was always poking at the quarterback. Luckily for the team, there was no true dislikes between the players and everyone got along great with their captain -- which was the true magic when it came to a team: trust.
A large, burly looking male came up. Rubbing his bald head, he wore a smirk upon his thin lips. "Practice is over for today, enjoy your weekend but don't get yourself in trouble. The season starts Monday, as well as classes. You best behave, boys." His gruff voice held a tone of seriousness, within reason of course. If any of the players got themselves in trouble, whether it be partying too hard or not maintaining grades, they would not be able to continue the season with the team.
Rivers rolled his eyes, before shouldering past the coach, "we would never misbehave, coach!" His tone all but mocking, and a wide smile attached to it. The coach just slammed his hand against the shoulder pads that he was wearing and allow the team to be dismissed into the locker rooms to shower and get on with their Friday nights.
It only took Rivers a moment to shower and clean himself up from the grass and sweat stains from the two hour conditioning they had just endured. He had finished his classes around three and been at practice ever since, so he couldn't wait to get home and change into clean clothes -- ones that didn't endure an entire day of classes.
He gave his quick goodbyes, knowing that he would see them all later probably, and jogged back to the house. Most of his team gave him crap about being with such a strange variety of kids. They were right, normally he would be at a frat house like the rest of the them but he made a deal with his parents that he would stay out of the frat houses because they were trouble. He was on a full ride and there was no way he would lose that. Rivers may come from rich parents but disappointing them was never something he wanted to do. As much as he wished he could be with his friends, he knew this house was something good for him.
They weren't all that bad, different but certainly not bad, per say. Stella and Sebastian were more of his type of people, and it definitely showed -- he hung around them the most and everyone knew it. Stella was the bad girl charm, with her sassy attitude and carefreeness; Sebastian was about the same but he was a guy, so there was a slight difference in facades. Now it was another story for the other house members. There was Ariella, she was quite the spitfire and was continually proving how she needed no-one, however she was closer friends with Skylar and Aleksandr. Skylar was normally friends with everyone but she had slight problems with Rivers, which probably was just due to his personality and his friend type, nothing that he dwelled on tooooo much. Then there was Aleksandr, who was just an easy going person in general and did not cause problems for anyone really. There always was the artsy person and that was Mackenzie, her personality reflected her creativity. Kaeden was the jokester of the household, giving everyone a good laugh here and there. Last but not least, there was Mikkel and from first glance, he was the grumpy kid, the one who stayed by himself and the fact that he was living with anyone else was surprisingly in of itself.
The house was a true home for the misfits, even if they didn't seem like misfits in their own categories. Being in an entire house with each other was, well, interesting ... all the time.
Walking through the threshold, carrying a large football bag, Rivers made his entrance. His eyes moved around the foyer and he saw a few lights on -- signaling that at least one of his house mates were home. The blonde male didnt bother to check around yet until he changed into more comfortable clothes. There were a few more hours before any real good party started so he decided it was better to chill and relax after a long day instead of immediately rushing out of the house again.
Once in his room, he changed into dark gray sweatpants that hung around his hips in a provocative way, even if they weren't meant to be worn like that. He paired the sweatpants with a tee that had Allen University Football on the front with his last name on the back across his shoulder blades. He ran his fingers through his now dry hair before walking out of his room and heading downstairs.
With a swift movement, he rounded the corner and headed right into the living room. He didnt even bother going to the kitchen because he already knew who was responsible for dinner, one of his favorite girls -- Stella. Now, who knew if dinner was even going to be edible, because he knew that if Stella didnt care to make it, she was going to be lazy and just do what she wanted -- whether it was good or not.
Rivers paused slightly as he spotted Ariella sitting .. on the floor. Her back was against the wall as she had her nose in some kind of textbook and she looked rather focused. A weak smile pulled at the corner of River's plush lips as he walked up to her, casual and with his hands in his sweatpants' pockets. "Alright, math major, its Friday night, shouldn't you be enjoying it at least?" His voice came out throaty, as he peered down at the asian girl. His blonde hair falling into his soft blue eyes.
He knew that she took school seriously, and it wasn't that Rivers didnt but he balanced his all star athletics as well as his academics. Although, he never compared to someone like Ariella when it came to academics.
