Michiko growled, knowing that she could not find a lie that would convince him. What kind of a kidnapper just let their victim go after locking them in a closet? She could go to the police now as they would take her side since she was a governed agent, not that that had stopped them from selling her out to her current bosses, but nonetheless. "What is it going to take for me to get out of this closer? I'm sorry that I tried to kill you; I didn't want to." She sat with her head against the door as she tired to calm her rapidly beating heart. She felt her organ sink into her chest as despair took over her body. There was no way that she was going to get out of this without either loosing her life or her job or both. Her mind wandered over to her sister again. Then, and idea came into her head. "Please listen to me when I say this. The people who sent me have my sister. I'll help you get rid of your enemies. I'll do whatever you want, just please let me out so I can save my sister. She's all I have left." Michiko was being truthful. She'd have to live a life of crime as well, but apperently the law wasn't interested in protecting her anymore.

Max frowned. Ah, that did sound bad, but she could be lying. She sounded convincing, though. "Who are the people that sent you? I can't believe someone wants me dead," he sighed, bringing a hand to his forehead. Even without using his power, this was making his head hurt.
"You promise you won't even come near me? Just leave, okay. I haven't done anything wrong," he told her. He was doing a bit of lying himself. He didn't know if the "people who sent her" knew that he'd stolen hundreds-- maybe thousands-- of dollars and items. Maybe he could still claim being innocent.

Michi took a deep breath as she prepared to share the information that would likely make her an even bigger target than him if the company ever discovered that it had been leaked. "Some guy named James Vanderbuilt. He is a huge tycoon who owns a warehouse chain called "The Mansion". It's a set of random item buildings, and I guess you stole from him one too many times because he wants you gone. I thought that was a bit extreme, so I did some digging, and it turns out he's been finding reasons to eradicate super humans around the country. His wife was killed by someone with powers a few years ago, and now he has a vendetta against you all. " Michi paused to take a breath as she felt her head spin from all the talking. After a moment, she continued. "Look, I didn't want this case, but that monster took my sister. I worked for the FBI hunting top criminals, but they sold be out because this guy was prepared to give big bucks that we need right now." Her voice broke now as she was overcome with emotion. "I have no clue what he'll do to Alexus if I don't kill you, but I can't bring myself to do. I'll leave you alone. I'll end up dead if I try killing you, and I'll end up dead if I don't, but I'll have time to save Alexus if I walk out now. You'll end up dead anyway unless you get some awesome protection because this guy is ruthless."

Well, I handled you fine, he was about to retort, but he stopped himself. Maybe this guy would give up on trying to kill him, or maybe he'd just forget or something. No matter, Max wouldn't try stealing from him again. Obviously he needed to be more careful with his choices from now on. However, for the moment, he needed to decide if he was going to trust anything this girl said. Was she really going to go off to save her sister?
"So if you're going to go save your sister, why didn't you just do that beforehand?" he asked. Hopefully she wouldn't just say she forgot, or maybe she'd decided killing him was harder than saving her sister (though he doubted that could be very true.) Or maybe, she was lying about having a sister at all, and she just wanted out.

Michiko thought about it for a second, chewing her lip as she contemplated the very fair question. "Well, it was the natural option at first. I didn't really have time to think rationally- I just went and did. I also didn't realize just how innocent you were. I hoped you would be the usually blood thirsty terrorist, but you're just a kid, and you're a rather decent person if you not killing me or throwing me out while I was unconscious if anything to go off of." Michi was being honest, and she realized just how much of a mess she was in.

Am I harder or easier to kill than a bloodthirsty terrorist? he wondered to himself. It was probably time to let her out. What she'd said sounded real, at least, and he shouldn't keep her from going off to save her sister or whatever.
"Ok. Let me unlock it. Your stuff is by the door I think, so get it when you leave," he told her relunctantly. He was planning to stay in his bedroom and lock the door behind her in case she changed her mind (again) on the way out. That way he'd at least be secure and could knock her out again from behind the safety of a locked door.
He undid the lock and pulled the door open slowly, keeping his distance and also keeping an eye on her.

Michi slowly pushed the door open and stepped out, weary and unsure if she could trust him or not. Then again, he had been decent to her in her unconscious state, and if he was willing to let an assassin out of the closet, he was probably pretty king, honest, dumb, or a little bit of all three. Michi felt a smile grace her face- not the usual smirk that she showed to everybody. She paused for a second, taking in her surroundings and adjusting to the light,. Finally, she walked towards his front door, and, with a whispered "Thank you", she slipped off out of the front door and in pursuit of her next target: a rich and heartbreak tycoon. She had nothing left to loose anyway, so she was going to see the mission thought to the bitter end- whatever it may be.
