{Bruh I was at work just now and after replying all I could think about was this rp RIP} {AWKS but would she even like Salem??? Like would she be like 'omg bad influence slytherin' or realize she's a goofball and friend?} {We can skip detention I guess and just like, describe what happened during that? Idk, I always find it weird when I jump into something after, because usually I just rp from a certain point and continue on from there, y'know? Like, what will they have done during detenion? Made faces at each other from across the room? But yes to the rest, I usually get ideas as I rp xD} {Also, I wanna bring in characters too, as in Cabe the jerk-face Gryffindor who'll probably cause conflict and give salem crap, and some other characters but he's important cx He's like Head Prefect and on the Quidditch team((Usually captain, he's one of those guys))}

rip indeed lolol
idk yet that's why i wanna test it out later xD
ahhh yeah, i know that's how it usually is with rps but i'm weirdly restless atm? idk i get paranoid about getting bored doing a thing but not going anywhere with it and then i'm like. what if they aren't having fun either. ;-; and it's cycle where it feels easier to just go from some a certain plan where we can be sure smth happens. idk if any of this made sense?? wheeze. x"D we can do detention again if you want or yeah, just skim over it idk akbgsd
gaaaasp he sounds like a drama llama. and then if he's captain of the quidditch team omg!! double drama with riley being on the team. he can get them in so much trouble ;o;

riley might end up clocking him in the face oOPS. he's impulsive enough and in trouble enough anyway xDD
we can try that, ye ;v; assuming i'm starting? i know i won't be able to get up anything tonight tho but i will try my hardest early tomorrow...or i guess today lol

A month had gone by since that fateful day in the forest. Riley had got to go out the next morning, but Salem had spent a couple days in the infirmary. When he had left, she had waited until he turned away, making grabby hands towards him and mouthing 'TAKE ME WITH YOUUU'. Unfortunately, that didn't work, and she had to deal with sitting alone when everyone went back to classes. Pros were she got to sleep in really long and get back her energy, plus the Headmaster had come to visit to tell her she earned some House Points for her bravery, and Eily had brought her phone later to go on. So, the next few days, she spent her time hidden under the cot blankets, giggling away as she read her list: '365 Memes: Your List for Daily Memes'. She had worked so long and hard on it so she wouldn't be bored during her time at Hogwarts, and she didn't regret it.
As soon as she was let out, she had hurried to clean herself up. Spending a couple days in the infirmary can make one smelly and sweaty, so she managed to transform into her cat form to disappear upstairs without anyone knowing it was her. She thought she saw Eily in the halls eyeing her up as she was with their group of friends, but she gave it no thought as she quickly got dressed and ready, than walking into the Great Hall 10 or 20 minutes later acting as if nothing had happened. Unfortunately, she was met with a group of her friends giving her hugs and squealing high pitch girlish squeals of delight to see her alright. She had earned quite some attention in that moment, and she couldn't help but glance over at the Gryffindor table, looking to see how a certain someone was doing.
And then, it had been right back to detention, the same it had been before. Riley was there as always, and the two still bickered like cats and dogs, but it was more teasing and playful, less rude and mean, and Salem found herself looking forward to jabbing away at the Gryffindor whenever she found herself in trouble. Honestly, she wasn't even 100% sure what or why she was getting in trouble anymore for, but she tried not to think too much into it, but just knew that whenever a teacher was yelling at her for who knows what, she could look forward to seeing his stupid face later that day.
It was December now, and almost Christmas break. The halls of Hogwarts were dotted with Christmas decorations here and there, dressed up for festives as soon as it had hit the December mark. Salem was currently walking down the hall towards the Great Hall from her last class, humming Christmas carols quietly as she went along, bobbing her head back and forth with a grin. Her hair was tied up into a high fluffy pony, a little holly hair tie holding it up, as well a little pair of bells that jingled whenever she moved her head. Also sitting tall and proud with some cute lose curls was a headband with reindeer antlers, which had been part of her antics for that day. She had taken out a bright red nose during class and honked it while the teacher wasn't look, teasing him. The teacher just got flustered and upset while the class snickered and Salem smiled sweetly at him, honking her nose a couple more times for effect. She would have been sent to detention, too, if it wasn't for the fact it had been cancelled. Something about Mrs. Potts being sick.
She pouted to herself slightly as she walked, disappointed that she wouldn't be able to annoy Riley with her Christmas get up, but continuing to hum as she walked, rounding the corner. Such was life... Even if it did make her a little sad, more sad than she wanted to admit. I wonder what Eily and the girls are doing... Probably talking about boys or somethin'. Typical.
{Riley can either see her and walk over, or they can literally bump into each other. The dare can be to steal an important christmas decoration and replace it was something stupid/better, or something better? xD}

(sneaking around is always fun! >:3c gasp he can totally catch them. ruin the fun. u-u )
A day without detention was a day where Riley Hawkins found himself not knowing what to do. It was a rare day indeed where he wouldn’t be doing the usual fooling around in the detention room by this time in the afternoon…chattering or making stupid faces with a certain girl. To put it simply, after the incident in the Forbidden Forest and then their little talk in the infirmary, the two had been on much better terms. It’s not like he could very well continue to treat her icily or warily after she’d saved his life (a fact he wouldn’t be quick to forget), after all. But it wasn’t all because of that either…Riley couldn’t really explain why he’d continued talking to her, why he started finding himself amused by her and looking forward to seeing her dork face in detention. They’d been in detention together countless times – perhaps it was just natural that he should cozy up to her. After a shove with a spider monster and talk about dabbing but…yknow.
For now, Riley wandered the halls of the school, looking for some fresh form of entertainment. He didn’t know where any of his friends could be – the library, the Great Hall, the Gryffindor common room, it was hard to say, and so he found himself currently and entirely alone. It was both peaceful and strange. He gazed out the castle windows as he walked by. The grounds were blanketed in thick snow and falling still; Christmas break was approaching fast. He always liked seeing Hogwarts done up in decorations – trees and bells and mistletoes – but this year, he wasn’t sure if he’d be here to see it till the end. Some years he and his sister spent their Christmas at home, and he wasn’t sure yet if that’d be the case this year or not.
Before long, his boredom would find itself at an abrupt end. Riley started at the sight of familiar silver head of hair further down the hall, also alone. He could see her stupid headband from here, and a amused grin snuck its way onto his face without warning. Eyes narrowing like a cat’s, he tiptoed the rest of the way toward her, going as fast as he dared to catch up with her before she turned a corner.
Riley announced his presence with a quick, albeit gentle, tug of Salem’s fluffy gray ponytail. The bells attached to her hair band gave a cheerful little jingle at the motion. “Hey, loser.” The greeting might’ve been harsh if not for the pleasantly amused tone of his voice.
Without waiting, he reached up to flick at her fake antlers as well, a dramatic sigh escaping his lips. “What’s with the get up? A little too festive, don’t ya think?”

{Cabe is that annoying head boy who gives people crap for everything, so yah, he'd most likely be up late snooping around for students to crack down on xD}
Salem let out a yelp of surprise as she walked, lost in her thoughts when suddenly her fluffy grey ponytail was being yanked at. Yes, it was gentle, but it still scared the crap out of her as she swore no one was around. She turned her narrowed bright green gaze to the side, about to give whoever had bothered her the death glare, but as she noticed who the person was- Or rather, idiot was, her gaze softened and her lips tried not to pull upwards. She couldn't help but smile as he called her loser, rolling her eyes as if she was done with his crap, "Hey, jerkface. Be careful with the hair." she greeted back, reaching back to give her ponytail flick, aiming towards him to maybe, probably, hopefully hit him in the face. He deserved it, after all.
It was funny how she was just thinking about him a couple seconds ago, and here he was. And- Success, he thought her get up was a bit too much, "Hey, I can be happy about Christmas if I want to." she said with a pout, than smirking slightly, "Plus, this ain't even all of it." she reached into her pocket and brought out the red nose, carefully placing it on top of her nose and making sure it was on and wouldn't fall off, than giving it a soft squeeze, causing it to let out an extremely obnoxious HONK, "I was gonna get one that would light up, but I think that would freak out way too many pures." she giggled, wiggling her eyebrows at him to cause him annoyance or even embarrassment at her being a dork. Bless her father for sending that to her for Christmas.
She was glad she actually had gotten to know Riley in the past month and hadn't been able to judge him too much until it was too late. Yes, he was still rude at times, and he made fun of her, but it was different now. It didn't bother her, nor did her teasing bother him- Or, at least, she didn't think that it did. If he was going to call her names and such, he better be ready to get the exact same treatment back, so it wasn't exactly her fault in the end, "Besides, you're just jealous you don't look as cool as me." she said in a sarcastic superior tone of voice, tilting her big red nose up in the air and narrowing her eyes, than giving her ponytail a flip to show off how much 'cooler' she was, though it probably just made her look even dorkier.

(wheeze my crazy aunt and cousins might be coming over today and idk how long they're staying if they do. save me. ;u; i get a few hours respite at work at least, haha..)
Riley had long since assumed that Salem didn’t mind his teasing – if she did, he’d stop. Probably… Gryffindor versus Slytherin thing aside, it was hard to tell how much of what he said was simple honesty and what was calculated teasing. But since she seemed more than eager to rise to the challenge, calling him names back and even whacking him in the face with her hair (ow.), he had no intentions of easing up.
Riley rolled his eyes – there was more to her outfit than this? More than the holly hair tie, the bells, and the antlers? Someone was really into the Christmas spirit. He loved Christmas as much as the next guy: the good feelings, the great food and eggnog, stupid specials on tv at home, presents too of course…but this? She might as well go all out and disguise herself as one of the decorated trees lying around, maybe spook some other students walking by while she was at it. Actually, that’s a good idea… He’d consider it for later.
“Oh no…you got to be kidding me.” His eyes went round as she (quite ominously, to go along with the Jaws theme currently playing in his head) pulled out a suspicious red object, placed it on her nose, and then – HONK. What. A. Dork. If you had told him just last month that Salem was this much of a weirdo he wouldn’t have believed you. Well…if you had told him prior to the dabbing fall and the Frozen lyrics, but after that he’d be inclined to believe it just slightly. Still, his lips couldn’t resist quirking up at her genuine giggle and wiggling eyebrows. Rather than let her see it for too long, he simply shook his head, feigning disappointment in her.
“Well, if you’re that determined, weirdo that you are, you could probably cast a spell on it to make it light up. If you’re gonna be Rudolph, you might as well go all the way. Go big or go home.” Maybe. He didn’t know any spells for lighting things off the top of his head that wouldn’t cause a fire.
He snorted at her superior tone, adamantly crossing his arms and snootily tilting his head upwards. “Jealous? Please, as if.” He could turn into a reindeer if he wanted to. He could pull it off much better than her, too, thank you very much. Dropping the act, thoroughly amused with himself, he continued, “Anyway, weird get-up aside, no detention today... That’s a new experience for us, huh? It's been so long that I don't even know what I'm supposed to do when Mrs. Potts isn't glaring at me from her desk..”

{Ah omg that sucks, I'm so sorry :c At least work is good to go to for once cx}
Salem had caught onto his little grin even if it had disappeared as fast as it had disappeared, reaching up to give her nose another squeeze that produced another loud and obnoxious honk, "You see, I would look for a spell... But that's too much work~" she whined, smirking as she did so. She didn't mind when she caught the couple moments between their back and forth comments and insults where one of them actually just laughed at each other. Usually it was Salem who ended up giggling, but sometimes she would catch Riley slipping up, every once in a while, It's because I'm actually really funny, and he just doesn't want to admit it. Yes, Salem, you let yourself think that.
She pulled the red nose off her nose as she snickered, rolling her eyes at him. It was okay if he didn't want to admit that he was jealous, seeing as she would always looking 10x more fab then him, so it wasn't even worth him getting jealous in the first place. But, as soon as he dropped the whole act, she calmed down slightly too, turning the ball in her hand as she nodded in agreement, "Yup, pretty much. I even went to the classroom and everything, and one of the students that usually sees me walking in when he leaves had to inform me Mr. Potts had taken a sick day," her lips pulled downwards into a frown at that, and her black eyebrow knitted together, as if she was worried, "I wonder how sick she is, it sucks being ill for the holidays." her voice didn't have any sympathy in it, more contemplating the idea, but one look at the obvious concerned expression on her face could tell quite the opposite. However, a second later she was looking back up at Riley and smirking, "Anyways, I was just upset I couldn't give you your daily dose of jabs. Somebody needs to keep your ego at bay."
She could've stood there and waited to get a comment back about something similar or another, but with one quick glance at the ball in her hand, Salem raised on her tip toes and smacked it onto Riley's nose, pausing and standing back study his face, "Hmmm, looks okay, but..." she than, as quick as a slithery snake, pulled the deer antlers off her head and slipped it onto his, letting out one of her signature snorts of amusement that turned into giggles as she stood back to admire her handiwork, the bells in her hair jingling along as if amused as well, "Awh, Riley, you'd make a perfect Rudolph! If only I had my camera and laptop, I'd totally Photoshop a reindeer body onto you. It'd make a great Christmas card~" she said playfully, holding up her fingers in a square and peaking out at from the middle of the square as if she was preparing to take a picture, still giggling at way at how dorky he looked. If only he would give it a honk... Then it would be complete.

(wowww nvm i lied i found some time to write after all ehe ;u; )
“Huh..too bad.” Riley muttered, wondering just how bad Mrs. Potts illness must be if Salem was showing even the slightest bit concern for her. He’d been sick around the holidays one time before too (back at home, fortunately) and he knew from experience that feeling like garbage when you were supposed to be feeling cheery and jolly was not fun. Maybe the students from her class would take pity on her and bring her gifts or cards to perk her back up. He…wasn’t going to do that, though. He was pretty sure she wouldn’t appreciate seeing his face again so soon, even if it came with a bow-wrapped present. But because he wasn’t completely heartless, he’d at least mentally send her best wishes.
The mood shifted quickly enough at Salem’s next remark, not to Riley’s surprise. His contemplative expression immediately shifted to one of exaggerated annoyance, a frown crossing his face and his brows furrowing as he looked at her like excuse me? All an act, of course. “Uuuum, I think you’re the one with the ego. You literally just said you look better than me. Check yourself before –“
He didn’t have time to finish his faux rant before red and Salem’s hand flashed in front of his face and the next moment…she’d plopped that stupid reindeer nose on him. But clearly that wasn’t enough for her, oh no. The antlers were next. He purposefully took on the expression of the sourest reindeer-man in the world in contrast to her giggling face. It occurred to him suddenly and without warning that he liked the sound of her laughter, but he shoved the odd thought away before he could too hard about it.
“Ha-ha, you’re sooo funny. …But you’re not wrong; I do pull it off better than you. Lemme just go find a mirror to make sure-“ Riley abruptly set off down the hall again, moving quickly with his long legs and, typically, without waiting for her to follow but confident that she would. “You’re not getting these back by the way!” he called over his shoulder.

Riley did make a good grumpy reindeer, pulling the worst expression he could as Salem continued to laugh at him. He did look extremely stupid, but that was the whole point about the get up in the first place- To look stupid. She was about to reply to what he said, before suddenly in the middle of his speech, something about finding a mirror, the taller boy took up with her reindeer antlers and nose down the hall at a quick speed, leaving Salem behind in his dust, a little stunned as she watched him with a curious expression, her lips turning up into a smirk at his sudden challenge, though she feigned a look of anger via a 'very angry pout', "Riley Hawkins, you come back here right this instant!" she yelled, before than taking off in a quick walk behind him.
The scene had caught attention of a couple passing by students, some who looked alarmed and some confused, but that didn't bother Salem. Actually, it was half why she did these big scenes in the first place- To either anger, upset, or confuse the hell out of someone. Not really to get attention, but to just... You know, mess with people. And because it was Riley, and she really enjoyed messing with him whenever she got the chance. But no way was he going to get away w ith this, not under her watch, even if he did look kinda dorkily adorable as she chased him. She might just let him get a way with them... Yah, right.
Just to wipe her stupid thoughts away, she gave herself a boost of speed, launching herself at Riley's back and latching herself onto him like a koala. It was really her last choice in this situation, but it would definitely get him to stop and probably make him react in a hilarious way at the exact same. She had dropped her books to the side just a couple steps back, which she would have to pick up after deal with his silliness, but for now, "I'll be taking that." Salem said as she tried her best not to look tired and just look victorious, pulling the antlers off of his head and placing them back onto hers, but not before waving them in his face, "But you can keep the red nose, almost makes you look better this way." she said with a snicker as she reached over to honk his nose.
One glance around made Salem realize they had arrived at her personal destination- The Great Hall. It was getting close to dinner, so it was filling up, but Christmas decorations were hanging here and there, making everything even cheerier and just more- Hold up. At the back was the same big Christmas tree that was set up every year, with the same big shiny, magic star on top. Every year, Salem wanted to take it down. She had wanted to sabotage it so badly, set something on top that was stupid and but the star up on somewhere equally stupid, but she hadn't had the chance and just forget about it, But... This year, it's my last year... "I've got a dare for you I bet you'll never do." Salem whispered to Riley with a mischievous expression, before hoping off his back gracefully, dusting herself off without a care.

(wheeze a little late but here c'x #future drama with riley's friends not being cool with her/her slytherin...ness xD and him flopping between pleasing them and trying to continue enjoying himself with her??)
Just as he expected (nay, planned?) Salem didn’t hesitate to come charging after him; Riley, grinning wickedly, hurried down the hallway as fast as he could. At super sonic speed. Several students had to jump and squeaked as he barreled past them, giving him bewildered looks or death glares, but he didn’t pay any mind to them. Both of those expressions were quite typical when he was around and up to the usual antics anyway. He didn’t dare to turn back around and look at her (he could hear her footsteps pounding after him) tempting as it was to stick his tongue out and flounce away with his superior height.
It was when he had to turn a corner that he was caught, forced to slow down, and before he could make it – wham! He staggered forward as a force (as Salem, that demon) slammed into his back, just barely managing to catch himself before he landed face-first on the stone floor. “Ow!” he snapped, “You are a lot heavier than you look, you know that?” His exaggerated annoyance (he couldn’t really be mad anyway, since he kinda started this whole chase…now if she actually had made him break his nose on the floor, then he would be mad) faded quickly enough, replaced by thinly veiled amusement.
“Fine, you win,” he conceded as she stripped him of the antlers, but conveniently left him with the ugly red nose. After a honk that almost left his ears ringing, he plucked it off himself and chucked it at her. “No thanks.”
The scent of food and the numerous people sitting around and chattering told him that they’d made it all the way to the Great Wall. Was it almost dinner time already? Huh, speaking of food, maybe he was a bit hungry… He glanced over at the Gryffindor table, quickly spotting his friends already there. One of them looked his way, and then the others quickly followed suit – he couldn’t explain the quick, panicky-like guilt that shot through him as they eyed him and his company. Riley gave them a half-hearted grin and a wave. I’ll be there in a second! Not that they could read his mind, but maybe they’d get the message.
Amusement gone, Riley turned back to Salem at her sudden, mischievous whispering. An eyebrow rose in an arch. “Please, there’s almost nothing in the world I won’t do,” he bluntly remarked, crossing his arms over his chest. A pause. “Any dare I won’t do anyway. What is it?” Another absent glance at the Gryffindors.
