"So do I. Mom and I were halfway across the country. When Dean called to tell me Bobby was in the hospital, I dropped my werewolf case in Seattle and raced there but I had just crossed the state line when Sam called me to tell me that." Shaking her head she sighed and quickly changed the conversation. "What constellation is that?" She asked cheerfully, pointing up at a random set of stars. Castiel had opened his mouth to respond to what she'd said about Bobby, but there she went, changing the subject. He glanced upwards, almost immediately responding, "That would be Hydrus. That means 'The Water Snake.'" He zigzagged his finger across the sky, outlining its twisted pattern.

Eyes wide in fascination, she pointed to the ones beside it and asked, "And what are those called?" Okay, so she liked stars. Correction. She loved stars. For Eve, they had been the only constant in her insane, death wish of a life. After a late night of beheading vamps or shooting werewolves, they'd be the ones right by her side to take her mind off of things for a while.

"Volans," Castiel informed, "there's twelve of them, all by Hydrus." He waved his hand, like that would magically make the stars light up to show it, but of course, it didn't. There was only so much an angel, especially such a broken one, could do. "There's many more stars than you can see up there too, right there, even. Behind it all, in the dark. God made quite the large universe."

"He did good," Eve said after a few minutes of silence. "They're probably my favorite of his creations. Clouds are definitely a close second." Making a funny face as she thought she added, "Actually, clouds are tied with bees. I mean, they defy all logic by being able to fly." Glancing up at the taller angel, she asked, "And what about you Castiel? You've been around forever, what's your favorite creation of His?"

"Hm," Castiel pursed his lips, screwing up his eyes as they rounded the third corner of the building. It wasn't very large, "well, I have always liked the forest. The trees, the plants, the quiet. It's nice. I still go to one to pray, sometimes."

Nodding she said, "I myself like to pray at church, something traditional, y'know?" Shivering slightly she asked, "You cold?"

"I can't get cold," Cas informed, "are you cold? We only have a couple yards to go." He gestured forward with his head, subconsciously pulling her a bit closer as he felt her shiver.

Flashing him a smile, she nodded slightly and joked, "Unfortunately being half-angel doesn't mean you're immune to the cold."
"Hey Dean, are Eve and Cas actually talking without trying to kill each other?" Sam asked with a laugh, peering out of their room window down at the pair walking out in front of the hotel.

"Not even a little?" Castiel asked, intonation clearly showing that this was his own attempt at a bit of a joke. He even flashed an awkward smile as they trekked past the Winchester's window. He knew they were there, and he heard them, but he said nothing, and gave away just as much as they headed back towards the front door.
Meanwhile, Dean headed over to stand by Sam, staring out before snorting and turning away. "If she's trying to flirt with Cas, she ain't gonna have too much luck with that."

"You'll be the first to know if I sprout wings or something. Which reminds me," Stopping in her place, she let go of his arm and crossed her own arms over her chest. "Castiel why are your wings always folded up? Isn't that uncomfortable? I mean, they're beautiful and how do you repay them? I mean, don't you need to stretch them or something?" In all honesty, she was quite fascinated by them, she'd loved birds as a small child, loved their wings and wished she too could fly. But his wings put all others to shame, they were magnificent.
Cracking a smile, Sam said slowly, "I don't know. I think if anyone could do it, it would be Eve. I mean, do you remember that case in Omaha? She had even you reaching out for a glass of water."

Castiel stopped, blinking at her. No one had ever asked before, but then again, no one else could see his wings. "Well, just because most life forms can't perceive them doesn't mean that they can't get hit with them," he began to explain, continuing after a brief moment, "and I do stretch them, occasionally. They're not heavy." He stuck one out, like that was proof, before folding it back up.
"Yeah, but I'm me, Sam," Dean replied with a roll of his eyes. He was heading back and away from the window now, since they were out of view.

Smiling at their brief appearance, she nodded as he reassured her before grabbing his hand. "Okay Feathers, let's get inside before I turn into a popsicle."
"Yeah I guess you're right." Sam nodded before rubbing his eyes. "I just hope Eve's right about Metatron, y'know? I mean if he's some almighty angel, why hide?"

Castiel glanced down at their hands, looking ever so slightly surprised for a minute, before he smiled a smile that crinkled his eyes, and he said, "Okay." With that, he began to walk, other hand (he wasn't cold, but who ever said that the vessel itself didn't get cold itself) digging into his pocket for warmth, and surprisingly, for him, the smile stayed.
"If your head's that far up your ass and you think you're that smart, why not?" Dean shrugged, flopping down on one of the beds and lazily pulling each of his shoes off, "besides, he's an angel. Sure, we've met some bad ones, but if anything, this is gonna be good for Kevin, right?"

Leading him inside, she sighed as she was surrounded my warm air. Slowing down her speedy pace, she kept her eyes ahead of them as she prayed to Castiel. What do you know about Metatron? Do you trust him?
"Yeah, yeah. Of course," Sam said, trying to ignore the nagging feeling that they were making a mistake. With a history of cunning angels, he couldn't blame himself for being careful.

"I know that he saw God more than any of us, when God was still around. He's always been pompous because of his knowledge, since being the scribe of God, he knows nearly everything that God does. But do I trust him? I believe that right now, I have to," Cas replied as they headed back towards their rooms, pulling his hand out of his pocket and tugging at his ear to try and bring some feeling back into it.
Dean nodded slowly, muttering, "Yeah," as he turned his gaze away from Sam, to the blank TV at the other side of the room. He would've been lying if he'd said he didn't have an odd feeling too, but what other options did they have?

And I trust you. But if you doubt him for even a second, we'll leave. Opening the door to the room, she kicked her shoes off and dove under the covers, the cold sheets doing nothing to warm her up. Her teeth chattering slightly she asked gently, "Cas?"
Sitting at the edge of his bed, Sam pulled off his shoes and wiggled his sock covered feet before sighing. "Don't stay up too late okay? You need some rest." Even as the little brother, Sammy tended to act as though he were the responsible older brother. He owed that much to Dean, after all they'd gone through.

"Alright," Cas waited in the door for a second, and when she questioned him, he was surprised. "Yes?" he questioned, dark eyebrows raising as he crossed his arms over his chest, shoulder leaning on the doorframe lightly as he watched her. Well, her and her left shoe almost knock the TV off of the stand.
Dean rolled his eyes. "I think that I'll be fine, Sammy," he replied, gesturing to the beers on the nightstand, "I'll probably be out in a minute, anyways."

"I know this is going to be a really weird question and I'm almost certain I'm overstepping my boundaries but I've had a long day, I just found out God has me on speed dial and I'm colder than the deepest pits of hell. So could you um," Pursing her lips as she thought of a delicate way to put it, she buried her face into her pillow and prayed, Could you cuddle me? Just, just until I fall asleep. I'm a Southern girl, I love winter but I can't survive the cold and I wouldn't normally ask anyone to do it and I'd totally understand if you said no but it's too cold to sleep. Groaning, she pressed her face harder against her pillow, willing it to eat her whole.

"Um," for a moment, Cas just stood there. He wasn't really sure what to do. He had no idea how to cuddle. But, he knew her intentions were pure, so he cautiously closed the door, kicking his shoes off and removing his bulky coat as he awkwardly made his way over to the bed. He slipped under the covers, wiggling his toes as he scooted over to her, just lying in a stick straight position, really not sure where to put his arms. Angels didn't cuddle.

Laughing softly, she sat up and looked down at him with an amused smile. Sweeping her wavy hair out of her face, she laid back down, resting her head gently on his chest, her closer arm loosely wrapped around his torso and she pulled herself closer to him. Feeling his tense posture, she muttered, "You gotta be comfortable Cas. Cuddling is a human way of relaxing, which does not include laying like a stiff plank of wood." Grabbing his closed arm, she stretched it out and laid back down again so his arm was around her before she returned to her earlier position. "Is this okay?"

"That's fine," Cas said, still stiff, but in a less uncomfortable position as she lay on his chest. He shifted himself slightly, so he was farther away from the edge of the bed, and then informed softly, but in his usual, frank tone, "I've never cuddled with anyone before."

"Well I'm glad to have been your first Castiel." She smiled, glancing up to look at him. "And just so you know, for this being your first time, you are an excellent cuddler." Truth be told, Eve was quite the affectionate soul. But Sam was a giant and Dean was too macho for cuddles, meaning she had very few in her life time. Still, she didn't always leap at the chance, she had to first observe the situation and deem her company worthy of such an honor. Sure it was silly, but it was important to her.

If Cas could've blushed (technically, he could've, he just never had) he would've. "Thanks," he said, a bit of the stiffness melting away as he gave her an awkward smile, turning his head slightly so his chin was resting on her hair. He shifted again, free hand ending up on the arm that was thrown over him as he gazed absentmindedly at the beside lamp. "You are too?" he finally said.

Chuckling softly she muttered a 'thanks' before yawning. "I always get exhausted after a long car ride. I hate being trapped in them for hours only to not sleep for days. But I guess it's the job, huh?" Eve's eyes began to grown heavy and she yawned again, snuggling closer to the warm angel.

Sure!}
Grumbling softly, Eve shifted in her sleep before laughing at something in her dreams. The sun had just risen and her room was becoming lighter by the minute. Meanwhile, Sam was brushing his teeth, getting ready to wake up Kevin and Dean so Metatron could begin his lessons.

Castiel had stayed during the night, not wanting to move or even teleport and wake her. He, being an angel, didn't sleep, but he lay there with his eyes closed, thinking. As she shifted he jumped softly, but then settled back down, opening his eyes and glancing towards the window. It looked like it was snowing a bit. You could see the clumps falling against the blinds.
In the other room, Dean was sitting on the edge of the bed, already showered and dressed as he watched the news, heels scuffing at the floor as he swung his feet back and forth while he sat. "Almost done, Sammy?"

"What time is it?" Eve muttered into Castiel's chest, still cuddling the angel as if her life depended on it. What? He was quite comfortable and warm and she enjoyed this. Even if she doubted he thought of her as even a friend.
Riding his mouth out, Sam wiped his face with a towel and said, "Yeah, I was thinking we could pop in, check on Eve before we go wake Kevin. What do you think?"

"Hm," Cas said, awkwardly craning his neck without moving the rest of his body to view the clock, and informing after a moment, "it is seven forty-five. Dean and Sam are probably up by now." He leaned his head back on the pillow, awkwardly crunching his chin to look down at her.
"I think that's a good idea," Dean said simply, switching the TV off as he stiffly got up off the bed, "where's Cas at?" He hadn't heard the angel come back down the hall to his own room last night. The thought of him being with Eve didn't occur though, cause he was just... you know, Cas.

"Oh God—sorry. I've never slept this late. Dean and Sam are going to kill me." She groaned but made no attempt to get up. Instead, she ran her hand up and down his chest, surprised to feel right muscle. She expected him to be more...like a delicate angel.
"Beats me." Sam said, walking out of their room before slowly unlocking and opening the door to Eve's room.
