[ im just gonna [will smith pose] ] Margot
The day her magic vanished was not a good one, and her mood was only decreasing. A couple of nights ago it had happened, and she didn't feel any difference (aside from a headache, perhaps, and an inability to keep warm), but she had been trying to cast lumos to read a book at night in the Ravenclaw Common Room and then...nothing. She'd been alone and had not decided to tell anyone, but as time went on she became progressively more frustrated, baring her teeth and refusing to do magic in class because she couldn't but she wouldn't tell the teachers that because what if she'd be kicked out of Hogwarts? What if she had just become a squib? She bit her thumb absently as she quickly walked down the halls towards the library, walking in without being quiet (which was odd, for her; Margot was generally gentle).
Ignoring any glances she got from people studying within, she walked over to the shelves and scanned them quickly, mouthing various words under her breath. Lack of magic. Lack of magic. Magic vanishing? Muggles...Halfbloods. Halfbloods!
She was quick to remove the book about Halfbloods from the shelf and she flicked through it, but it didn't mention anything about a loss of magic. It told all sorts of tales about powerful Halfbloods and how some never even found out they were a witch or wizard, but absolutely nothing about the spontaneous loss of magic.
Going to Cyrus or Zacharie was an option - though the former was more likely to think she was making it up and Zacharie would probably think it was amusing or something. He didn't look like the sort that found things amusing, but she had lived with him for years now, and he definitely was, even if he didn't show it. She exhaled slowly and scanned the shelf in a more frantic manner as she returned the Halfblood book, using her thumb to brush over the spines of books.
"Nothing," she all but growled under her breath, her free hand curling into a fist. She'd be kicked out of Hogwarts. She knew it. This meant she was a squib and she was a witch without magic and damn if a life without magic didn't scare her. She'd grown up with Purebloods! She couldn't show weakness now!
Zacharie & Paxton & Theresa
There was, of course, something relaxing about doing his Potions work by the side of the lake. With some spare time on his hands, he had decided to do his Potions homework at the last minute, having not quite forgotten to do it, but rather...he hadn't been bothered to. His hand moved fluidly over the parchment in neat script, eyes narrowed as he consulted his book from time to time and made adjustments from his own experience.
"Zach," said Tessa, crouching down by him, "Pax wants to know if you'll bet six galleons against him to see if he can survive a Giant Squid attack."
"No," he replied coolly, "go away."
Obligingly, the Hufflepuff girl bounced away lightly until she was at her twin's side - Paxton had taken to absently skipping rocks over the surface and watching various creatures reach up to grab them or bat them away, his playful grin in place. He glanced to her and raised his eyebrows over at Zacharie, but didn't question it. The trio weren't exactly uncommon to see, but there was a clear divide in which Zacharie didn't actively participate. He wasn't their friend; he just didn't feel like looking like a loner, and so he dealt with the twins because they never pushed him to interact.
He was distantly aware of the twins communicating in Arabic, but unable to understand the language himself, he ignored it and instead chose to pay more attention to his Potions work. He was good at this, it was one of his strongest subjects and he knew he'd be taking it all the way to NEWTS, though that was in the far future. Honestly, he had goals to become an Auror; and he was well on his way to doing so.
Micah
To say that the week was as hectic as he had expected was an understatement, but Micah found that he didn't mind. He'd already memorised Hogwart's layout and the general time schedule of the stairs (though they did tend to deviate from the norm, sometimes), and he'd found that he was pretty handy in both Transfiguration and Potions, even if neither of those were his favourite classes. He had yet to find a favourite class, and while that didn't quite bother him, it didn't make him happy, either.
At present, he found himself exploring the halls while he could, deciding he wanted to double-check that things were as they seemed. It was so medieval that he almost felt bad for using a pen and pencil in rebellion to the quill and ink that the teachers seemed to want him to use, and he almost felt bad about having notebooks rather than rolls of parchment. It amused him, to a degree, that some of the other students actually listened.
Being Muggleborn, he'd decided, was definitely a plus.
His attention refocused and he blinked, realising that he wasn't in a corridor that he recognised. Great. Of course he'd missed one place - his mind backtracked absently and he held his hands out in front of him as he did so, fingers wavering slightly in place. Right...he'd made a left and then a right, had gone past...yes, that seemed about right. Once he'd fitted it into the blueprints in his head, he continued walking and wondered, briefly, if any other students had had the same idea as he had.

Nates having fun in the common room lol)
Ryker shrugged his shoulders. "Whatever, I think she has astronomy, so it'll be a little longer, I came from potions." Ryker said to Ingrid with a shrug as he started to go towards the entrance to the common room.
(Stop him Ingrid! Tell him you love him!!!!! Express your undying love to him!) (Hehe that would be a hilarious love-hate romance) "Well, what's this thing with you and her about anyway?" Ingrid asked "Something about a duel? What happened?" She was confused, to be honest. Kaitlyn hadn't told her much about why the fuel had even been arranged, so naturally she was curious.

(I'll have Amalthea in Logan's general vicinity just in case) Amalthea entered the Ravenclaw common room, undoing her blonde hair from its braid and letting it fall around her shoulders. She noticed a fifth-year sitting doing his homework and realised that she should probably doing the same, sitting herself down and grabbing a piece of work out of her bag. It was seventh-year work and so it was quite challenging, but she enjoyed being challenged and she liked difficult work. || Logan ||
Logan noticed that another student had entered the room. He didn't recognise the blonde girl, which wasn't surprising. He didn't really notice people that were older than him or younger than him, he didn't really know many people at all in his house. In fact, he hardly acknowledged those in his own year, and tried to avoid them whenever possible.
For a moment, the fifth-year almost said 'Hi' to the other girl, but decided against it. Homework was more important than socialising. Plus, he hated talking to people. What was the point?
For a few moments the fifth-year watched the older student with his eyes narrowed, before turning his head away and immideatly continuing to write. Amalthea looked up from the long essay she was writing on the History of Magic when she felt someone's gaze boring into her. She hated feeling like someone was looking at her, so the sensation always made her react. She just couldn't stand it, that was all. When she saw it was a younger student, she offered a small and rather shy smile, before asking "Hi, can I help you?" She only asked because she was prefect and it wasn't good prefect behaviour to ignore other students. He might need to talk about something and she didn't exactly want to seem unapproachable or just to just shy for the job. No, she was better than that, much better than that. Part of her duty as a prefect was to help other students and it was polite of her to see if he needed anything, if nothing else.

Ryker stopped, turning to look at Ingrid. "I was just sitting at the table by Zacharie, you know Zacharie? Well, I was sitting there with him and we were talking, she just comes up and stares at us all creepy like, it was kinda unnerving. So, I just ask if I could help her, and off she goes on me with insult after insult. So, all I did was challenge her to a duel to shut her up, she was making a scene. I didn't have anything against her, and I still don't, I don't know what she has against me though." Ryker said with a shrug and leaned against the wall. Usually he wouldn't open up like this to anyone, especially not to a Gryffindor.

Well, I'm surprised, since I know Kaitlyn well and she doesn't insult people without reason. But then again, everyone has their own side off the story, don't they. She'll probably say something very different from you, so whatever. Anyway, I'm going to, uh...go...now. I don't think she's coming anytime soon, and I've got stuff to unpack. So maybe I'll see you at the duel, Ryker. Later." She pushed off against the wall, preparing to leave. Clearly her friend wasn't coming and she didn't want to waste her time waiting if there was no point. So whatever. She didn't see the point in chatting to Ryker either. She could never tell if he liked her or if he hated her or if he was just neutral, it was sort of unnerving, and she didn't know how to handle him.

Fireclaw - pLEASE no i hate undeveloped romance reading through it irks me please don't start a romance so soon xDD i also hate myself rn for being such a meaner this week ugH ]] || Taya ||
Taya nodded to herself as she finished her unpacking, satisfied with her work. She made a brief fuss of Misty, who purred in contentment as she brushed her fingers under her chin, before making her way to the library. She had already been set so much homework by her Care of Magical Creatures teacher, apparently because she had high expectations of Taya, due to her O.W.L's result, and as N.E.W.T's were coming up she needed to study even harder than usual. The Hufflepuff sat down at a free desk and flicked through the homework diary Eleanor had given her for her birthday at the end of May. It wasn't a magical one, of course, but it did the same job and at least it didn't shout out reminders at you every minute like the magical diaries always seemed to do. She needed to write an essay on a magical creature of her choosing. Well, she supposed it was because her new teacher wanted to understand what level they were at. Taya already knew what creature she wanted to study. Thestrals. They had always been fascinating to her. Taya flicked through the books at the Magical Creatures section, and noticed that, in the section before this one, a girl seemed to be agitatedly looking through books, frustration painted upon her face. It was a while before she noticed that it was in fact Margot, a Ravenclaw from her own year. Taya didn't usually talk to people, but she thought she'd offer some simple advice. ''You could always ask a librarian to help you find whatever you're looking for,'' she muttered, in a feeble attempt to sound confident.
|| Logan || The fifth-year looked up again as the other person spoke. He wondered why she had spoken to him, didn't he look like the sort of person that didn't like to be spoken to?
Narrowing his eyes once again, he met her gaze. ''No, I'm good. I just looked up to see who had arrived,'' he said simply, not used to conversation. He'd rather this other Ravenclaw just left. He could leave himself ... but that didn't seem like the ordinary thing to do. Getting up and leaving when he'd just spoken was weird. Now he'd probably just have to sit through an entire boring conversation, he supposed, unless he was really lucky and this girl didn't want to talk either.

Handle him with Love, that's how XD)
Ryker shrugged his shoulders. "I said a few things back to her, but only after she kept ranting at me, it wasn't really bad things, though." Ryker said then turned to the entrance. "I'll see you then, Ingrid." He said, then whispered the password to get inside the common room. "Pureblood." [Haha XD] "You Slytherins and your daft 'pureblood' nonsense" Ingrid muttered as she turned to move away, rolling blue eyes as she did. She hated that the Slytherins put so much emphasis on blood-status. After all, did it really matter that much? Muggle-borns and mudbloods were just as good as purebloods. It just annoyed her, she didn't know why. Perhaps because Kaitlyn wasn't pureblood yet she was still a talented witch and a fun person, so who cared about her blood status

"Well then tell the poster to pick a better password," Ingrid called over her shoulder as she began to walk away "Times have changed. Not every Slytherin is a pureblood anymore"
She was preparing to go back to her dorm and to sort her things out. She still had some unpacking to do, and she was sure she'd have some of Amalthea's things in her case, which meant running backwards and forwards between common rooms to exchange items

Margot
It was with growing anger that she realised that there were no books about whatever had happened, and she jumped rather violently when another girl spoke to her, turning around with widened eyes. She was beginning to panic, but she managed to take a deep breath and settle herself. Margot ran a hand through her hair quickly to push it back into place and blinked a few times, before her shoulders slumped and she swallowed.
"What I want isn't here, though," she said quietly, "I've already checked. At best, it would be in a Restricted Section, but it's near-impossible to get there."
How did one go up to a librarian and go oh, do you have any books on a witch just suddenly losing her magic? No reason, just because of curiosity. It just wasn't something that people asked every day, it was something worth being suspicious of. She dropped her hands and swallowed nervously, shifting her weight from one leg to the other and ducking her head. She didn't actually recognise this girl either - someone from another house, definitely. Probably from her year, which made things much easier. Maybe she was a Hufflepuff? She seemed like one. That was fine - Hufflepuffs were often nice. If she was wrong and this was a Slytherin, well. She'd have to deal with that. Zacharie was a Slytherin and he wasn't so bad.
But her train of thought was derailing rapidly and she realised, with a jolt, that she was more concerned than she had thought. Not being able to do magic was horrifying.
