Manse quietly nodded, feeling horrible for making his date worry so much. He also felt very strange, putting his trust in this human before him; it had been a long time since he'd trusted people, and it had all started with Kai. He limped ahead, checked the street, then quickly headed inside of the apartment complex, hissing quietly with pain as he went up the stairs and arrived at Kai's door. He heard Bonnie start yapping with excitement from inside and knocked lightly on the door, stepping in. 'Honey, I'm home.' He said, struggling for a cocky smile but it came out as tired and strained. Bonnie leapt up at him and he scooped her up, before limping over to Kai. 'I'm sorry I worried you.' He said softly. 'I couldn't come back in case you got hurt.'

BloodroseKai turned when he heard Manse's voice, seeing him in his wounded state. Getting up from his chair, Juliet in his arms, his blue eye having a relieved, but sad look. He only looked away when Diego came in, heading to the kitchen again. Kainder sighed softly, saying "At least Diego didn't have to carry your body back. I..." He trailed off, eye squeezing shut briefly before opening as Diego spoke "Your weirdo friend got bitten by the glorified dog king." Kai's eye widened. So it was the same werewolf? His gaze was drawn to Geraamte, who questioned "Why not just kill it? You idiots just love to draw things out." Kai glared at the pug, but found himself asking "Isn't that... hard to do?" Diego shook his head, pointing at the pug "Not for this one's boss."

Diego shook his head, pointing at the pug "Not for this one's boss." Manse looked blankly at the pug, and no longer really cared who in this room knew what he was, he was getting annoyed with hiding it and with running away from his identity and past. 'My uncle is no easy mutt to be put down.' He said, glaring at the floor. 'He once came home riddled with ten silver bullets and a silver knife in his side; my dad yanked them all out one by one, and in the space of two hours he'd healed; he didn't even suffer from the poisoning.' He winced as he sat down, his nails claws, canines fangs, a minor transformation set off by his anger, helplessness and extreme survival instincts. 'And I highly doubt Khaa is going to bother dirtying her hands with one of my kind.' Manse added, glancing at Geraamte. 'I'm sure she'd rather he rip me apart first so I can't be near Kai.' Worked up now he looked down at his leg, glaring at it. The skin seemed to sizzle slightly and he hissed as it began to slowly heal itself, forced concentration speeding the process, but tiring Manse further. 'Im not strong enough to take him down. And I'm especially not strong enough to take on the pack. I have no idea where they are either.'

Bloodrose"Khaa is my mistress," Geraamte corrected "Not my boss." The little pug stretched his legs, yawning "Every species has its head honcho." Walking so he was by Manse, he said "Manners are needed to hold a successful meeting. No butting heads. At all. Understand?" He watched Kai set Juliet down and try to stop Diego from eating his last peach, like a pebble trying to stop a boulder. Geraamte smiled a little, then looked back at Manse yet again, questioning "Even then, have you allies of your own?"

'I'm a loner.' Manse bluntly replied. 'Youve said it yourself; we're hell-beasts and monsters. My kind don't tend to make friends among the supernatural.' He moved away and sat down on one of the sofa's, leg shaking up and down. 'I don't need friends in the supernatural- I need humans who are trained to deal with them.' He took in a deep breath. 'I need werewolf hunters.' He looked up at Diego and Kai. 'Diplomacy won't work with my uncle. Neither will my fangs.'

Bloodrose"You have the saddest life I've ever heard," Geraamte declared, sitting down "At least fake being happier right now." Kai's whine could be heard when Diego won the small scuffle for the last peach. The older man cackled his victory and dug into the fruit, barely budging when Kai pushed past him to go join Manse and Geraamte again. The author settled onto the couch, and Geraamte went back to telling Manse "Humans weren't the first creature hunters, Manse. However, bringing a mix wouldn't hurt I suppose." The pug looked at Kainder, who was quiet for a moment before saying "Um... if he'd like, I could see if my uncle wants to help hunt the Alpha. Probably the entire pack, right?" Hunting more than one things always interested Kingston more. Kai hadn't spoken to his uncle in a while, and Kingston wouldn't really want to talk much if he saw Manse. He really would shoot manse as soon as see him, even if Kainder protested, and grew depressed after. Better for the hunter to find out sooner rather than later. Perhaps the thought of butting heads with an Alpha would keep King's gaze from Manse.

Perhaps the thought of butting heads with an Alpha would keep King's gaze from Manse. 'The more the merrier.' Manse replied to Kai, not even caring for once that his uncle might kill him- if it ridded the world of his own uncle, it would be a damn better place! 'And yes- the entire pack.' He murmured. 'There's no saving them.' He looked away angrily, biting his lip with his sharp fangs until it bled, the blood trickling slightly over his chin. He wiped it away with his thumb. 'I'll meet him head on.' He told Kai. 'Your uncle. I don't want to be hiding behind you like some cub with its tail between its legs.'

Bloodrose"So what are we to call this ragtag fellowship, huh?" Diego called from the kitchen, causing Kai to roll his one eye. Shaking his head, he told Geraamte "Um... your 'boss'... can we meet them? Soon? While we do, I can figure out how to get Kingston to help without killing Manse first. Buy me more time?" The pug scratched his side with a hindleg, answering "Sure. It's not my fault if things go bad though. I can't protect you then." Kainder only stared at the dog as he thought for a moment. Geraamte sighed before deciding "We'll need a graveyard though. Ghouls can't enter somewhere unless its through dead ground." Kai had gone into silence, his own thoughts as a worried look came to his face. It wasn't every day one got into a quest to kill a psychotic werewolf and his cronies. And being afraid of most werewolves still didn't make it any better. When manse spoke again, Kai turned his lonely eye to him. After, he said "Let's hope being bold helps you. I sure hope it does, because I'm not ready to say goodbye yet. Kingston doesn't see fit in hurting people I know, but... I don't exactly have other werewolf friends."

'How quickly can he get here?' Manse asked Kai, wanting to get Kingston over with as soon as was humanely- or inhumanely- possible. 'The sooner he's here, the quicker I get my uncle off my back.' He began to chew his thumbnail: something that was happening so often it was becoming clear that it was a nervous habit.

Bloodrose"I think he's a few states over so... by tonight?" Kainder said with a weird look "He has a... erm... real fast mount." He watched Manse chew his thumbnail, a small look of concern on his face. He said nothing more of it though, as Diego spoke up "Whatever we do, I think it's best we leave this apartment for a while. If the Alpha knew to come here, it wouldn't be the smartest to stay here. At least for a few days. If Kainder gets mauled on my watch, King is going to slaughter me. Being cooped up in a small area isn't the best." If everything was successful, they'd be able to come back to the apartment in a few days tops anyway. Diego looked at Kai, who looked at Manse for an opinion. Geraamte was already at the door, saying "Whatever is decided, I want to leave soon anyway. After I get my boss to step in, I'll backtrack here and watch over these annoying little... pets." He looked at Bonnie and Juliet, both of which would one hundred percent be killed if they were brought along the dangerous quest being formed. The pug added "King can track us down anyway if we're nearby, whether we're here or not."

'Alright... there's a sacred area nearby.' He said. 'It should be able to keep us safe for a limited amount of time- we'll need to take salt.' He shuddered slightly at the prospect of being trapped within a salt circle, but said nothing more as he raided Kai's cupboards to find a large bottle of the stuff. 'Let's go then.' He sighed, leading the way, his leg still stinging with pain.

Bloodrose"We still need to make one more stop before we head to your little sacred stop," Geraamte said with a tilt of his head "So make sure you save it." Diego came to join them, looking down at Juliet and Bonnie. Poor things had to be left behind, but they'd be safer away from the group of men and one ghoul. Geraamte waited for Kai to open the door, asking "Where's the nearest cemetery?" The blonde hesitated to think for a moment, eventually answering "Northwest Cemetery is just a... ten minute's walk I think? It's not too far." Diego pulled out his gun to check the weapon, saying to Manse "From what you said, this Colt won't do too much to your Alpha, but hey. I was expecting to hunt a female today. Not the big kahuna of werewolves." And so their little travel would begin once everyone was ready to go. Well, more or less. Kai didn't show it too much, but he was scared as f*** right now. However, the only signs of it were his bent brow and tense muscles.

'A female?' Manse curiously asked, petting Bonnie goodbye as they began to head to the graveyard. He felt nervous but relieved that they were finally heading out to dispose of his stupid uncle and his bloodthirsty pack. He felt an urge to hold Kai's hand, but he didn't want to embarrass the author, and so sighed quietly and looked at the floor, sliding his hands into his pockets instead.

Bloodrose (Sorry for short posts. I'm busy ;_;) "Yeah, a female," Diego said shortly, not looking at Manse "Personal business, so that's all I'm telling you." Following after Geraamte, he went second. Then Kai along with Manse. Poor blonde was shaking a little. He hesitated, then reached out a hand while looking at Manse, Kai being the one to silently ask. Everyone had gone quiet, and he'd wanted some sort of comfort at least. He didn't like what he was heading off to do, but, as cliche as it sounded, at least he wasn't doing it alone.

Manse noticed and seemed to relax at the invitation, not needing to be prompted to take the others hand. He linked their fingers together and gave him a shy smile, before looking ahead as they headed down the street and into the graveyard. 'Alright... we're here. Now what, Geraamte?' Manse calmly asked the pug, looking down at him and blinking slowly.

Bloodrose (I used to have a partner who replied with three or less words ;_;) "Now..." Geraamte trailed off, sniffing around at the graves. Picking one, he sat on the grass in front of it. He muttered something before biting a foreleg, so hard that blood dribbled down. Crouching, he positioned the leg so the wound was cleaned on the grass. Then, he just sat back again. Diego had ditched them to stay at the cemetery entrance, having nabbed his phone from Kai's apartment, to make a call. To Kingston, actually. Kai was relieved, because the author most likely couldn't finish, or start, the call. Kainder jumped, briefly squeezing Manse's hand as he heard something inhale, slow and deep. Geraamte stepped off of the grave as something exhaled in the same eerie noise.

I'd pass out if someone rp'd with me like that)) Manse shuddered and tightened his grip on Kai's hand, eyes widening at the sound. Ohhhh no no no. He did NOT like the sound of THAT. He took a shaky step back and nervously looked at Kai to see what his reaction was, and gauge what the other male was thinking; he was dreading whatever was to come from this interaction. He dearly hoped Geraamte hadn't just led them into the jaws of death.

Bloodrose (I couldn't take more than three replies before I ended it x3) The ground in front of the grave twitched, the breathing becoming a beat more frequent. A huge bump then formed in the ground, the sound of something breaking coming. Kai was tempted to run off, but didn't get the chance. Like a mole, something popped from the mound. A humanoid figure, covered in dirt. Literally. No flesh or anything could be seen. It dragged its unclothed form away from the split mound, groaning scratched and dry. Kai actually whined and shut his eye when the thing tried to crouch, head lolling at an unnatural angle like a broken neck. Head thrashing once, the loud crack accompanied the head becoming straight again. Now one could see it's featureless face, except for a slight bump for a nose, and an inch wide crease for a mouth.

Manse stared with wide eyes at the thing that came crawling out of the ground, like- what he could only describe it as- a zombie. The only thing that came to his lips was, 'why?' In a very weak tone. Why, oh, why, had he been born to this life? Why, why had Geraamte thought this would be necessary? His stomach was churning violently at the creature in front of him, and he was tempted to go back and wait with Diego.

BloodroseAt the small voice, the dirt-covered head snapped over to Manse, tilting slightly. That little inch of a crease then split open, flesh tearing, so wide the crease went up to the ears. Human teeth flashed, surprisingly white, and blood spilled from its torn open jaws like red drool. Kai squeaked when the figure shuffled toward them, but paused after a few steps. Where Geraamte stood, or used to, was something else. A slender, white-skinned, brown haired male dressed in blue-gray pants only. Covered in dirt, he was waving something "borrowed" from another grave. Throwing it to the creature, the scary jaws snapped down on the long strip of flesh, downing it in one gulp. After, the massive crease returned to that neutral, inch-wide line. Then, it stared at Manse, as if waiting for something.

((Manse is having the biggest 'nope, f*** this' moment ever))
Manse stared, horrified, at the creature, every instinct in his body telling him to run away. 'No!!!!' He exclaimed. 'No! Nope! I am not doing this! Nope! Nope nope.' He turned and very stiffly walked away, very strange noises echoing from the Werewolves throat as he made a rapid retread from whatever the heck that thing was, barely even noticing the fact that Geraamte was now a human.

Bloodrose (I would be too X'D) Kai was about to follow Manse, but stopped when the creature came in front of him. He recoiled slightly, but did manage a tiny "hi" to the brown figure. It opened its small mouth slightly to blow a puff of air on him before closing it. Kai glared over at Geraamte, who was just watching. Diego, who was walking over to Manse, saying "That ghoul is help against your Alpha and pack. Accept it." He pointed a finger back toward the newcomer and Kai, who tried inching away. The "ghoul" tilted its head, Diego saying "Kai's uncle won't be able to dent an Alpha like that thing will. None of us like it, but we sort of need it."

Manse turned on his heel at Diego's order and walked back over, slinging his arm casually around Kai's waist and holding his hip, a little possessively. 'Hi there, uh... hi. I'm manse. Fancy killing an Alpha?' He cheerfully said, smiling at the horrific mutant monster in front of him, doing everything in his power to not gag or run away- the stench was killing him alone.

BloodroseKai leaned toward Manse's hold slightly, relieved he'd returned. The ghoul turned its featureless face to Manse again, doing nothing more. It seemed to do nothing in turn for his greeting. When he continued, it twitched. Blood dribbled from the crease on its face, and that odd breathing resumed. In, and big pause. Then out, and a big pause. Then, the ghoul answered, a barely there twitch of its head. A nod. Diego sighed his relief, but admitted "Bringing a mutant ghoul to a werewolf fight. Such things only seem likely in your stories, Kainder." The author didn't comment, too spooked to do much. He agreed with Diego though. How often did ghouls and werewolves get seen in the same subject?

How often did ghouls and werewolves get seen in the same subject? 'Grrreat.' He awkwardly said, before practically lifting Kai off of his feet and turning them both to leave again. 'Alright... now can we go to my sacred place before my uncle finds me?' He weakly asked. ''I've got a bad feeling and don't want to know what it means.' Manse had had enough of bad feeling for the day, and suddenly found himself wanting to hold Kai in his lap and just... sit. He wasn't sure why that was what he wanted, but it was, and so he'd deal with it. Maybe Kai would even let him.

Bloodrose"You all go," Geraamte decided "My lazy ads is heading back to Kai's. Someone needs to watch over the pets." And with that, he left. Diego shook his head at the man-pug leaving, saying to Manse "Lead the way." And all Kai did was look anywhere but the ghoul, who was waiting to follow the group. Kai just wanted time to relax, with Manse. This kind of stress wasn't good for him, but he'd be even worse if he didn't have the werewolf beside him.

And so Manse led the way, keeping his hold tight on Kai's waist to hold him against Manse's side, the werewolf still unsure as to why he was being so damn protective of the author. He led them into the woods, heading through it in relative silence- when it grew darker, his eyes seemed to glow. He was alert and in his element here. Soon they entered a clearing. It was large, with a ring of stones set in the centre, all rugs and curved like claws in different directions- a strange spiral of dirt was engraved from the centre, stretching outwards to surround the clearing, and flowers were planted in the grass alongside the clearing.
Wolfsbane.
Manse wrinkled his nose as his pupils slitted and a visible shudder ran through his body. He walked again, looking as though he was struggling. He swiftly released Kai. 'Get inside the stone circle.' He said, his voice a low growl as he squeezed his eyes shut and staggered sideways, the scent of the wolfsbane overbearing, thick like a muggy dog and clouding his mind, unable to think straight as it tried to make him transform. It wasn't violent- it was just the effect of the stuff when raw. Not to mention that the scent itself was horrific to werewolves- this was a sacred place to humans because it kept the creatures away.

Bloodrose (Won't be on much for next six hours or so. College is ready to start again x3) Kai looked worried, then glanced at the flowers, quickly deciding it was Wolfsbane. Diego herded Kai into the circle, but the ghoul stayed out, face lowered to the flowers as if sniffing them. After, it just settled in the patch, waiting. Kainder's main concern was Manse though. He was familiar with the flower's tie to werewolves, but one could never be too sure. He rolled his eye when Diego made sure his Colt was loaded, but not yet pointed at Manse. The older man shrugged, saying "What? I don't know if he'll bug out or not." And now, all they could do was watch to see how it all played out for Manse.

His breathing became heavier and raspy as he struggled to breathe through the thick scent, and he fell to his knees, his hands claws as he raked them into the dirt for something to hold. damnit Manse, get your s**t together. Come on. You can do this- get inside the circle. Slowly and weakly he got back to his feet, managing to get inside the circle with the two before he collapsed onto his back, still gasping for breath. 'Stupid- flowers.' He panted, eyes squeezed shut. 'Salt circle- around- the rocks!' He then told Kai, looking at him.
