(Sounds good Lem!) Aurind watched her, smiling as she saw her taking everything she'd said into account. As Sky yelled the spell Aurinda watched the two fall in opposite directions and nodded happily. "Very good!" she chimed brightly as she went over to help Sky back to her feet. "You see how the force behind your force correlated to the force behind your spell?" she inquired with a smile, "It's all so amazing how connected we are to our spells don't you think?" the Ravenclaw and Native American in her coming out as she bubbled about spells for a moment then. Her eyes flicked to meet Sky's and she nodded once more, "Let's do it again, keep practicing until it feels natural. Then, when your older I'd suggest, you can start to work upon non-verbal spells. Then your opponents will have no idea what is coming at them." her smile remained as she spoke to Sky and she turned back to her own dummy. "Y...Yeah." Sky said, smiling a bit. "Non-verbal spells seem really hard." She added, looking slightly unsure. "Err.. Anyways, how about Expelliarmus?" She then asked, looking at the dummy. "Are we supposed to try on each other, or.. I'm not sure."

There could be a lot of detail to be read in Kayleigh's expressions and emotions as Cadmus joined in with her dramatics, but it would be easier to simply say that, for once, she was glad that she'd been able to make someone happy. She was really starting to like this Ravenclaw. She still didn't completely trust him, or anyone else, but she was opening up more and more towards him. The most interesting thing about that though, was that she didn't feel guilty about it. At his question, of did she really want to see him cast the spell, she simply nodded without saying a word, her eyes trained on him as he turned towards the dummy. She watched as he cast the spell, the movement of his wand and the pronunciation of the spell perfect. However, it was not very effective. As Cadmus turned back towards her with a small shrug, she pictured herself performing the spell, wondering what was different. Kayleigh was smart, but she didn't always see the solution to a problem straight away. Sometimes, just like now, she had to piece it together a little bit. "You need to put more feeling behind it." She said, imagining how she felt whenever she did the spell, and how very....Ravenclawish...Cadmus had been. Textbook perfect. But that's not what made up a spell. Without the person behind it, there was no spell. "Like this." She said, stepping forward and facing the dummy. Raising her wand, she performed the spell perfectly. "You need more emotion behind your words, give the action meaning or it won't work." She added, stepping back and gesturing for him to try again.
James saw Thalia standing by herself, looking around. It appeared that she to didn't have anyone to partner up with. Walking over, he greeted her with a simple, "Hello there." And a smile. They were both Gryffindor and both fifth years, so he had seen her around a fair bit, but they'd never really interacted before. "You wanna partner together?" He asked her.

"That'd be great," Thalia said smiling gratefully at the other Gryffindor glad that the Gryffindor had broken the ice and come other to talk to her. "Do you want to go first or should I?" she asked giving James the choice. She didn't know the other fifth year despite the fact that they had been in the same classed for the last five years but they'd never really talked and as they didn't share any hobbies she hadn't really see the point in befriending him until now.

She flicked back some hair then and nodded, "I would say those could be used on the dummy, but better practice on a partner as well." she added with a light tip of her head. "We can do the dummies first if you're more comfortable with that?" Aurinda suggested gently.

They were both Gryffindor and both fifth years, so he had seen her around a fair bit, but they'd never really interacted before. "You wanna partner together?" He asked her. Cadmus watched her quietly and listened intently to what she had to say about his casting and his spellwork. As she suggested the emotion he blinked and had a bit of a realization. Of course spells required emotion. Giving that advice to Cadmus was rather comical considering he was one of the most open people with his emotions and you could almost always tell how he was feeling just by a quick glance over. As he watched Kayleigh cast her own spell then, he couldn't help but smile and admire her as she did so. It was absent-minded but the smile remained as she turned to him then and he nodded gently to her, "Alright." he nodded lightly in agreement of what she'd told him. He took in a deep breath then and sighed and moved to face his target once more. This time he appeared more driven, the relaxed nature of his stance before now replaced with a bit more tense and driven look. He waited a moment and then cast the spell and performed it rather successfully and powerfully. Afterward he sighed and tipped his head back happily before turning to Kayleigh and smiling, "Looks like we fixed my problem then!" he chimed with a bit of a bright laugh as he looked to her happily.

She said, with a lot more confidence than expected. The fake wand that it was holding dropped, and it's entire body shook a little bit. "That was better than expected. I don't usually get spells so easily most of the time." She admitted.

Raising his wand, he took a good stance, but the way he held his wand was kind of awkward. James wasn't one to pride himself on his spell work, that was for sure. "Expelliarmus!" He called out. There was definitely feeling behind it, and he performed the spell, albeit poorly, and then nearly dropped his wand as he turned around back to face Thalia. Sliding it back into his pocket smoothly, James shrugged, "I'm not that great with spells as you can tell." he said, a slight smile still on his face. He'd accepted long ago that that just wasn't his strength, and that was okay.

Kayleigh watched Cadmus closely as he did the spell again, and smiled as he performed it incredibly well, "Good job! That was really awesome." She said to him. She was happy that she'd been able to help him out with it, even though it had been a fairly simply problem. Well in her view it had been anyway. Kayleigh had never really struggled with casting spells, or learning new ones. She was smart and a quick learner and using her wand was something almost natural to her. She'd never quite understood how it was difficult for other people, but then again, she didn't really know other people in the first place, so who was she to judge? And it wasn't like she was perfect anyway. "It appears we did. Just remember to keep that in mind whenever you do a spell and you should be fine." She said simply. Kayleigh was incredibly happy for him, and she had actually enjoyed helping him out, something that was new to her. "Shall we do the other spells as well?"

Aurinda smiled and watched her and laughed brightly, clapping her hands together happily, "Well, you've got quite the teacher." she told Sky with a light wink before turning and casting Experlliarmus as well, she used a verbal spell this time just for the heck of it.
Cadmus laughed brightly as she congratulated him, reminding him of his sister for just a split moment. Where Cadmus was not the best at skills being he applied his knowledge so linearly, he excelled in subjects like Astronomy and Potions. He could make a Potion as quick as any and his knowledge of the stars and their alignments was impressive as well. Though Potions was his favorite subject by far. It helped that he enjoyed cooking as well and the two were rather similar in comparison with each other. As Kayleigh suggested they move onto the rest of the spells he let out a light sigh and nodded lightly in return to her, "Yeah, I suppose we should work on those, shouldn't we?" he replied with a light laugh. He stretched out his arms a bit and then tugged of the sleeves of his button-up, not bothering to fold them like he probably should have, and then took in a deep breath. Protego, he could perform that. Taking in the advice from Kayleigh, he easily used the Protego charm and then quickly went into Expelliarmus as his second. The Expelliarmus was rather well done, much like the first time he'd done it, and he beamed at himself with pride.

Sky let out a little laugh. "Yeah, you are a pretty good teacher. So, now, do you want to try on each other?" She asked tentatively, looking around and watching all the other partners. "I think we're making wonderful progress in my opinion." She concluded, an unusual thing for her to say.

"It wasn't that bad," Thalia said encouragingly even though James had almost dropped his wand but he had performed the spell accurately. She tilted her head trying to remember exactly how James had held his wand to see if there was anything that she could think of which would help him. "But maybe adjust your grip," she suggested tentatively not wishing to overstep her place whilst still wanting to give James some positive criticism and feedback so that he would improve which was the entire point of all of this wasn't it.

"You can go ahead and go first." she commented as she took her stance as if the two were going to duel.

Kayleigh just nodded once more as Cadmus moved to perform the other spells. She knew that he wouldn't need her help anymore. Once he knew what the issue had been with his spell casting, he would remember it and use it every other time. He was a quick learner like that. Just like her. Her mouth creased into a small smile as Cadmus used the other spells quickly and efficiently straight after each other. He would make a fierce dueler, she thought for a second, before dismissing the notion. She didn't duel herself, and she felt that Cadmus wouldn't be one that would enjoy getting hexed or hexing other people. Kayleigh liked the thrill of dueling and not knowing what would happen next, but she'd never been able to excel at it, and so had quickly decided that it wasn't for her. As Kayleigh stepped closer, she actually raised her hand to fist-bump Cadmus. It was something her brother had insisted on for an entire two years in his younger life, and had become something of a sign of affection between the two siblings. So it was a surprise, even to Kayleigh, that she had gone to do it now, but she didn't hesitate in the action, "You're going to have a shot at even beating me in a duel if you continue like that." She joked.
James grinned as Thalia said that it hadn't been that bad. It had been. It had been really bad, in his mind. But that was okay. As she suggested that he needed to adjust his grip, James nodded thoughtfully, considering how he had held his wand. "Thanks." He said with a smile, turning back towards the dummy to try again. He had moved into position, like he always did, gripping his wand incredibly tight in his fist. Remembering Thalia's advice, he loosened his grip and shifted his fingers, holding the wand more like he would a pen. Trying the spell again, his aim improved a little more, but not by a lot. "Hey, I think it helped a litte, your turn!" James decided with a shrug as he moved out of the way so Thalia could have a turn.

"I wouldn't want to duel you for two reasons Kayleigh," he told her holding up the first finger for the first reason, "You're much better at spell work than I am." then the second finger came up for his second reasoning, "I wouldn't want to do something wrong and end up actually hurting you." he smiled lightly to her and though it was a bit of a joke his eyes were sincere. A thought occured to him then and he arched a brow lightly to her, "What do you want to do after you're done with school Kayleigh?" he inquired with a light arch of his brow. Cadmus had given long thoughts as to what he wanted to do. When he was young he thought he might be a Broom Maker and ride the fastest and newest brooms out there. Then he broke two of his brooms in a room and decided that perhaps was not the best for him. After Broom Maker came Herbologist, after that was a Spellmaker, but finally he settled on his current career choice. Professor, most pointedly a Potions professor here at Hogwarts. Their current professor was older and rumors were they were planning to retire soon. However, if Potions Master didn't work out, he could bide his time as a Potion Brewer and sell those which he made to places like Hogwarts, Saint Mungo's, the Ministry. Certainly Brewers made a good fortune, but Cadmus preferred teaching.

Aurinda shook her head lightly to Sky, "Don't worry about it." She told her with a warm smile. Kayleigh nodded graciously as he brightly said that he would never be able to beat her in a duel. Kayleigh put things simply for the most, not one to often joke around, her suggesting that had been one of those rare times. To give the facts, she was indeed better at spell work than Cadmus, just as he was better at the book work and probably potions and flying and a bunch of other skills. Everyone had their strengths and Kayleigh didn't see the point of telling people they were good at something when they weren't. She didn't see the harm in admitting when she was better or worse at something than someone else. But before she'd even considered agreeing with that statement, Cadmus was explaining why he felt that. He pointed out hat, she was better at spell work, and then that he didn't want to do something wrong and end up hurting her. "I do admit that winding up in the Hospital Wing with a hex isn't my ideal way to spend time." She admitted. She hesitated at his unexpected question of what she wanted to do after school. There were two reasons why she hesitated. One was because of her still ingrained questioning of people's motives that still was not completely gone. The second was because she didn't actually know what she wanted to do. And so she decided to once again, overcome her questioning of Cadmus' motives and answer the question. "I don't know what I want to do." She told him truthfully, her voice even. "The only thing I know for sure is that I want to travel. I want to go out and see the world, maybe live among the muggles for a time and just...experience it all." Her eyes grew kind of distant for a second as she talked, but then she snapped back with a shake of her head, a tiny smile on her face. "What about you?"

Cadmus laughed lightly and nodded to her, "I would feel terrible if that happened!" he chimed at the thought of having to visit Kayleigh in the hospital wing flickered into his mind. Then he waited quietly for her answer, glancing over her expression and smiling happily as she ended up soon replying to him. Then he tipped his head to the side lightly, "Perhaps a Magizoologist? Or a writer? Or maybe a Muggles Studies specialist for the Ministry of Magic?" he suggested to her, thinking of all the possibilities he could and all the suggestions he might be able to give to her. As she returned the question he beamed and laughed lightly to himself, "I don't want anything near as grand or as exciting." he told her with a light flush to his face, "I want to be the Potions Master here at Hogwarts when the professor retires. She's been her so long and rumors are she'll be leaving in a few years." he told her with a little bit of excitement to his voice, "If I have to wait then I'm planning to become a Potions Brewer for the Ministry and work there for a few years until the professor position opens back up." While he spoke it was obvious he was passionate about the topic and his eyes lit up a bit with delight, "Potions amaze me really, you can brew passionate love in an hour, you can bottle transformative liquids that change who you are entirely, you can put a cap on death itself, and even create your own luck!" then he laughed a bit and blushed a little more at how excited he'd gotten about it all, but truly it was his passion.
