Welsch showed up soon enough, running just a bit late from his last class and a meeting with his professor. Though he dipped inside and smiled lightly to Silver, "Hey." he greeted simply as he strolled in and shrugged off his cloak, setting it, and his bag, onto one of the chairs against the wall with the door.
Aurinda arrived soon after Welsch had, Cadmus and Aveline soon behind her. Kita was late though, she was pacing about in the common room debating on if she had it in her to leave or not. She hadn't seen Theo yet, maybe he wasn't even in the common room, maybe he was already there. She bit her lip and wrapped her arms about her body as she continued to pace a bit more, back and forth, back and forth.

Sky quickly rushed in, her robes flowing behind her. Her hair was a bedraggled mess and she looked quite beaten up. "Am.. I... Late..?" She asked, out of breath. "Oh.. Uh, hi?" She added, staring at all the mostly unfamiliar faces. "What do I do, what do I do.." She continued to mutter to herself, feeling out of place and quite scared. Eventually, the Hufflepuff girl began to look around at the people. She tried to see if any of them were recognizable, and thought she saw a few people she saw before a few times.

Kayleigh, James, Kayden and Evalina all showed up as well. Although he hadn't been to the original meeting, Kayleigh had brought her brother along to this first official meet-up, thinking it would be good for him to get some extra practice in. As long as, when it came down to it, he stayed out of the fighting, she had no issue with him furthering his knowledge of magic.
{{ sorry for short one. }}

Silver clapped her hands happily as everyone poured in, relief washing through her body. She was just glad they'd all came!! 'Alright!' She announced. 'Today we'll just be going through the basics- Stupefy, Protego, and Expelliarmus. Practice each for half an hour on a dummy, and then find a partner!' She grinned, clapping her hands.
Theodore managed to find Kita and walked over, taking her hand to stop her from pacing. 'C'mon, Kita- we're late.' He said, winking at her and smiling reassuringly as he led the way out. He was nervous too, but seeing her scared had motivated him to be her standing stone- he wouldn't let her feel inadequate or worried about being with a group of people. 'Just think of it like a club,' he said, grinning at her. 'Advanced Duelling club!'

Welsch smiled as Silver took charge and he stretched his arms and gave a wide yawn before nodding to her, "Partners?" he inquired as he strolled to her side with an arch of his brow.
Aurinda smiled over towards the young Hufflepuff who seemed rather lost and made her way over to her. "Sky?" she inquired lightly, "My name is Aurinda, would you like to be my partner?" she inquired to her with a light tip of her head and a sweet smile.
Kita smiled lightly, nervously though, as Theo appeared and snagged her hand. She nodded quietly and laced her fingers into his and squeezed gently as she headed after him. She let out a sigh as they hurried through the halls. "Advanced Dueling Club..." she murmured softly as her mind raced about what she'd promised to do while they were there.

Sky looked quite afraid, but tried not to show it. "Sure, Aurinda!" She replied quickly, feeling that she liked this girl immediately. Her hands stopped trembling, and she took a deep breath to calm herself. Finally, someone spoke to her! "What house are you in?" She asked quietly, tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear.

Thalia slipped in through the door awkwardly but she couldn't help but be incredibly conscious of the fact she was running late. It hadn't really been her fault but she had been set a 5 foot long esay on the properties of the moonstone and it's effects. "Sorry I'm late," she apologised hoping that she hadn't missed too much.

A few strands slipping out to frame her features. She arched her brow lightly to Sky then as she pulled out her wand, "What about you then?" she inquired.

Layleigh considered pairing with her brother for a second, then dismissed the notion, figuring it would be better for him to learn from someone other than her. Instead, she walked up to Cadmus, her wand flicking through her fingers. "Partners?" She asked, glad to see Kayden pairing off with another hufflepuff who looked about his age. Kayleigh had never duelled with Cadmus, or seen what he was like in a dual, and she thought it might provide an jnteresting challenge.

She added with a small smile, slowly drawing her abnormally long wand from inside her robes and fiddling with it. "Shall we..err.. Start?"

He was a Ravenclaw who dabbled more in Transfiguration and Divination rather than Charms and DADA. As Kayleigh approached him, he blinked and actually blushed, rubbing the back of his neck. "You know, I'm quite terrible with this sort of thing." he murmured to her as he headed to a dummy pair with her, pulling out his own wand. "I'll definitely need your help." he smiled to her and chuckled at himself. Then a thought occurred to him and he laughed a little brighter, "How can someone call me a Death Eater when I can harder cast an Expelliarmus charm!" he chimed to her as he laughed again and rolled his eyes lightly.

"What were the spells Silver said we were working on again?" she asked looking to Sky with an arched brow once more, "Protego for certain, but what else was there?" she asked lightly, not wanting to start off on a bad note on the first meeting.

Kayleigh noticed his blush, part of her wondering why it was there, but, for once, she decided to keep her mouth shut and not say anything about it as he rubbed the back of his neck. She barely caught his words of how apparently terrible he was with 'this sort of thing' and almost laughed at the ridiculousness of the situation. A Ravenclaw bad at spells? Who would have thought. But then again, Cadmus was the one who was showing her stereotypes where exactly that. Nothing but a made up label that tried to conform people to certain standards. Okay, well, maybe her passion for things had taken her thought process a bit further than what Cadmus had originally said, but he had certainly been the one to make her think of it in the first place. As he pulled out his wand, Kayleigh decided to keep her mind open about the experiences Cadmus was bringing to her life. It had certainly been more interesting, what with the fights she'd started over people calling him a- and then his last words were spoken, and she paused for a moment, thinking about how odd it was that the two seemed to reflect each other perfectly. They were thinking the same thoughts now? WHAT! ...anyway. She'd been going to tell him to just ignore them, but as he laughed, she realised that it was easier to make a joke of the situation and not have it sitting like a serious thunder cloud in the back of everyone's head. "You can't even cast an expelliarmus!" She cried with mock horror. "Whatever am I going to do with you now, Ravenclaw? You're useless to me if you can't do any spells." The over-the-top, expressive way she spoke made it obvious she was joking. And if it didn't, the smile on her face certainly would have, considering Kayleigh would have been one of the least expressive people in the school, probably on the planet.

She admitted with a small frown, resorting to playing with a limp strand of her hair and biting her lip. "Well, I guess we can try Protego for now though." She finally said, shrugging slightly and looking straight at her wand again.

And if it didn't, the smile on her face certainly would have, considering Kayleigh would have been one of the least expressive people in the school, probably on the planet. Cadmus watched her reaction and then laughed brightly to her and shook his head, putting on a fake pleading expression, "Oh please miss! Don't throw me away! I'm very useful in other ways!" he told her clasping his hands in front of him and crouching just a bit so he was eye-level with her. He couldn't hold that though and then cracked and laughed brightly to her. It appeared Cadmus was back to his normal self and it was thanks to Kayleigh's demeanor and stand-offish nature to protect the two of them really. He took in a breath then and ran a hand through his hair, "Alrighty..." he murmured as he turned to face the dummy then, glancing to Kayleigh with an arch of his brow, "You sure you want to see this?" he chuckled. He then turned to face the dummy and took a moment. Truly, Cadmus wasn't as bad as he made himself out to be, he just had not interested in the subjects and wasn't as passionate about them, causing his spells to reflect that manner. Cadmus took his stance, a more relaxed sort of look and held his wand over-handed. With a simple flick and rather good enunciation he cast the Expelliarmus charm and it worked rather well. Though it wasn't nearly as strong as it could be, and in a true duel might not have even knocked the wand from the users hand were it a life-or-death matter. It was more just a threat, nothing behind it. All bark, no bite, if you would. He looked back to Kayleigh and smiled sheepishly to her and shrugged as his only response.

Aurinda nodded quietly to her and then heard a few of the other spells around them and nodded, "Protego, Expelliarmus, and Stupefy it sounds like." she commented over her shoulder to Sky before taking her stance. She stood easily balanced between her two feet and held her wand in a different sort of grip, holding it under-handed with her pinky helping to hold the end of the wand. It was a little detail that few noticed, but the notch at the end of her wand, formed from the twisting of the bark created a space for her to rest her pinky. In a simple flourish and quick flick she non-verbally cast the Stupefy spell.

"W..wow!" Sky exclaimed, in awe. She turned to a dummy herself and shakily raised her wand with an unsteady grip. "Stupefy?" She whispered very quietly under her breath, almost sounding like a question. The dummy's arms fell off. "Oh, oops." She muttered with a shake of her head. "That didn't exactly go too well, did it?" The slightly surprised girl said, her voice becoming even more quiet.

Aurinda smiled lightly and watched her then nodded, "Here." she told her lightly. She stepped up to her and wrapped her hand about Sky's, tightening her grip on her wand. "It's your wand, hold it with pride and direction." she instructed before looking over her stance and nodding, "Stand how you are comfortable and active, something wide but open and ready in case you need to move." she added lightly. Then Aurinda took her stance once again next to Sky and held out her wand once more, "When you speak a spell, give it purpose and life. Do not question it because without you, the spell is nothing." she smiled, she sounded like her father there for a moment. "With the Stupefy spell you must be direct, forceful and confident." she smiled and then turned and looked to the dummy, "Stupefy!" she directed with ease and grace. The dummy whirled backwards before falling over. It then replaced itself after a moment.

Sky looked at Aurinda, then gripped her wand tighter, suddenly pointing it at the dummy. "Stupefy!" She practically yelled, causing the dummy to fly backwards and hit the wall behind it, but also making her almost topple over. She put a hand back to support herself, and got up slowly with a groan. "Ouch? I guess it worked." She said awkwardly, giving herself a little shake and retrieving her wand which was on the ground,

(Sounds good Lem!)
Aurind watched her, smiling as she saw her taking everything she'd said into account. As Sky yelled the spell Aurinda watched the two fall in opposite directions and nodded happily. "Very good!" she chimed brightly as she went over to help Sky back to her feet. "You see how the force behind your force correlated to the force behind your spell?" she inquired with a smile, "It's all so amazing how connected we are to our spells don't you think?" the Ravenclaw and Native American in her coming out as she bubbled about spells for a moment then. Her eyes flicked to meet Sky's and she nodded once more, "Let's do it again, keep practicing until it feels natural. Then, when your older I'd suggest, you can start to work upon non-verbal spells. Then your opponents will have no idea what is coming at them." her smile remained as she spoke to Sky and she turned back to her own dummy.
