OOC Kay!
IC Jonah Applegate was basically jumping up and down in excitement. He had saved up enough money to go on a vacation...through time. Basically he was bursting with excitement, having saved up his money for years, he was sure this was going to be quite amazing. He grinned as he stepped in line in the time travel port, there were time machines in all corners of the port, though in total there were only about twenty for vacationing. They were round, almost cave like machines, that could fit up to five people in each one, with a time appropriate changing room, a couple bedrooms in case the guests would prefer to sleep in a more civilized place than the chosen time period, a kitchen and dining area for the same purpose, a control room, and of course a room for the time guide.
Soon it was his turn and he hurried to the front desk and grinned widely as he placed his ticked down and showed her his time travel permit. "Jonah Applegate, reporting for time travel," he explained, giddy as ever and the person looked at his permit and took his ticket.
"Welcome to the time port mister Applegate, please place your belongings on the belt and pick the time period you want to visit. After that, go to the front desk, one of our employees will help you from that point," she instructed in a rather bored tone as she forced a smile. "Have a nice trip and thank you for choosing to time travel today," she told him, quite clearly quoting a script of sorts.
Jonah nodded. "Thanks, you too-" he said quickly and entered the port before realizing how stupid he had sounded before and let a groan, however his brief embarrassment with himself was over as quick as it came as he was able to look at the wide open space port, different places to go, screens to pick your chosen time period, historical recommendations, and the entrances that lead to the time machines. Jonah's eyes widened in amazement as he took in the sight. "Woah..."

Dallas nodded as she told him her suggestions. "Then I'll be sure to get plenty of both," he said. His smile faded momentarily as Ethan leaned down to kiss her. The boy could do nothing about it, even if he wanted to. Kia was dating him, after all. It wasn't his place to interfere, unless it was a special case like today. So he quickly worked on make his expression indifferent as he waited for Ethan to leave. OOC Text
IC Once Ethan had officially left the premises. Kia looked over at Dallas. "I should probably go too, my dad's waiting for me and he doesn't really like it when I'm late to home," she explained with a small shrug. "Makes him worry and all...but I'll see you tonight!" She said with a grin.

Elliot had never wanted for anything, especially not money. He was born from money and grew up in comfort. Determined not to let that pass when he was no longer dependent on his father and his father's wealth, he used his generous trust fund early, using it to purchase a company that, many years down the line, pretty much ran itself. Every now and then he was needed to make an executive decision, but the CEO did a good job of running the company without him, leaving him with both time and money. When you came from a family like his, time-travel vacations could be spontaneous weekend trips.
Of course, Elliot wasn't exactly the type of guy who took spontaneous weekend trips often. But this one, this one had been. He'd woken up and decided to make use of the permit he had but never broke out, and now, only a few hours later, he found himself purchasing a last minute ticket to time-travel. He greeted the woman behind the desk with the same bored tone she offered him, and a few moments later he was let through.
Despite his wealth, Elliot had actually only travelled through time once. That had been to the early two-thousands, and while it had been fascinating, he couldn't say the same for the tech or fashion. He'd been of the opinion that if you've seen one time period, you've seen them all, and he wasn't sure that had changed, but here he was all the same.
How about we go a little further this time? Elliot thought to himself as he scrolled through the options presented to him. 2100 - The New Century. 2058 - Post War Era. 2020 - Presidential Election. 2000 - New Millenium. The list was long, and Elliot was grateful that they didn't offer trips to every year, or even decade. He continued scrolling until he found one he liked. 1887 - Mid-Victorian Era. Yes, that sounded promising. He clicked it and then continued walking.
"Mr. Tilman, right this way," a young man said, rushing to catch up and gesturing as he led Elliot to his time-pod. "We hope you enjoy your trip. You'll find all necessary information is recorded to be displayed on this screen here just before you leave, or if you'd prefer to read it, there's plenty of information in these books right here. You should be departing in forty-five minutes." Elliot nodded, saying a quick thank you, which the young man accepted with a false smile and a nod, before leaving him be.

OOC Should we skip Night?
Also Ree for the record, I dunno if I've ever been this excited about a roleplay. Like I'm really excited for this one tbh
IC After docking his belongings where they belonged to be searched and looked over, Jonas made his way to one of the many black screens, scrolling through all his options. It has important years marked down, or the start of important decades, time was amazing. There were just so many options, he honestly had no idea which to pick...of course this was a once in a lifetime opportunity, so he had to pick well. Maybe sometime in the nineteen hundreds? Perhaps around World War 2? Hmm, no that simply wouldn't do...so he kept scrolling until he found the perfect time for him. The revolutionary war. He was about to select his time period when someone bumped into him, making him trip onto the screen.
It scrolled out of control before selecting a time period for him.1887 - Mid-Victorian Era appeared in bold on the screen, and Jonah let out a gasp. "No, that's wrong, I didn't choose that time-" he was interrupted as someone came up to him.
"Mister Applegate I assume? We thank you for choosing your time period, please follow me to your pod, you will be departing in about forty five minutes, all the information you need will be on the screen inside, feel free to read it whenever you please," the employee explained as he hurried the blond off without so much as a word and soon Jonah found himself dropped off at the entrance to a pod. He let out a small groan of protest. This was not what he had wanted...and they didn't allow you to go back and change what you chose. They had to make sure everyone could get their use in, after all, time in the pods worked the same as time in the present, a time capsule reserved throughout time, two days in the pod was the same as two days here.
Jonah sighed and ran a hand through his choppy dirty blond hair. "Well, mid Victorian era, here I come..." he said weakly, taking a deep breath as he entered the time machine to get himself situated before departure. Maybe he could make the best of this...no he was sure he could. After all, he was still traveling through time, how exciting was that? Very, it was very exciting.

( no but same honestly. I'm really excited to see this all play out! also, I'm assuming they're in the same pod as that would make most sense. )
Elliot had left the main room for a bedroom within moments, deciding that he should know where he would be sleeping. He could, of course, sleep more authentically, and he was sure he'd try it, but the great thing about time-vacations was that he didn't have to substitute the comfort of technology for history.
He would have his belongings delivered here shortly, but for the time being he looked around the room. It was relatively small, but not cramped, and contained a neatly made bed and complete wardrobe, as was to be expected. Other than that, there was a screen mounted on one of the walls and a small desk pushed into a corner - probably intended for those who travelled back to record history. Finally, there was a small chest which was currently empty, but free to be filled with souvenirs if you should so wish.
As he was inspecting the room, he heard the sound of the door opening and then closing again. Assuming that this was his case, he turned to leave the room, closing the door behind him. He walked the short distance back into the main room, where he was met by someone who certainly wasn't here to deliver his things.
This wasn't uncommon of course. For the sake of prices and energy, you might sometimes be asked to share a pod with someone else heading to the same time and place as you. If you had the money and were willing to spend it, you could of course pay to have that become an impossibility, but Elliot had been too late for that. He frowned but extended a hand.
"Elliot Tilman," he said matter-of-factly. "I assume you're headed for 1887 as well, then?"

OOC Yeah same pod.
IC At least they could bring home souvenirs. Jonah had just finished taking a look at his own surroundings before someone walked out of one of the other cozy rooms in the pod. He looked tall, probably taller than Jonah by a few inches. He looked sort of serious, like a no nonsense type of guy, which was sort of the feel Jonah got from him. Then of course the stranger introduced himself and Jonah figured he was inclined to do so as well.
He smiled and took the stranger's hand, shaking it before bringing his hand back to his side. "Jonah Applegate, nice to meet you mister Tilman, and yeah...go 1887, am I right?" He asked rhetorically, giving a bit of a lopsided grin that seemed to go well with his overly freckled face and dark brown eyes. He figured it probably wasn't the best idea to loudly exclaim that no, he hadn't wanted to go to this time...not at all, but here he was. Best enjoy it while he could, and maybe one day, he would earn enough money to come back and go when he actually wanted.
See Jonah was not rich, not by a landslide. He worked at a mechanics back in his little country hometown, actually he was a dropout from college, he had been needed back home to help out his family, his father was sick. Died about a year ago, and Jonah had stuck around to help out, besides the window for a good college had closed for him now, so he decided he could settle for the life of a mechanic. Even if what he had really wanted to do, was be a time machine engineer. Hence why he was so enthusiastic about time travel.
He had been saving up money for this trip for years, he would need to trade in the rest of the money he had for the trip for money fit for the time period though...so he could actually do things there. After all he only had three days, and those three days were going to be spent in a time period he didn't even want. But, always the optimist, Jonah figured that 1887 couldn't be that bad...maybe he would even enjoy it. Or at least that's what he was determined to believe.

Elliot smiled and shook Jonah's hand firmly, nodding. "Nice to meet you," he said as he drew his hand back. He wasn't entirely sure about how he felt about sharing this space, but he wasn't upset with the arrangement. It wasn't like he was planning on spending much time here anyway, he'd chosen to do this with his time, and so he'd enjoy it while he could.
He looked around the room until he found a suitable place to sit. He picked up one of the books as he sat down in the chair, flipping through it distractedly. He wasn't bothered to read 150 pages or information, science and laws to follow, not when he could just watch a ten minute video outling the more important parts.
"So," he said, hoping to ease into a conversation. Ufortunately, he'd let the silence drag on a little too long, something even he noticed. "Have you ever time-travelled before?"
A lot of people saved up money to time-travel just once, others had the money to go annually. If you could, most people chose to go again after a first trip to experience more of what the past had to offer. Elliot knew better than to assume which category Jonah fell into, but it felt like something he should know going into this.

IC "Oh, no, this would be my first...and likely only time to travel...through time," Jonah replied, looking around and taking in the surroundings. Yeah his only time to travel and he didn't even get to pick when and where to go. Sure this was fine, but it was no Revolutionary War...he glanced back over at Elliot, looking him over for a minute. "What about you? Is this your first time time traveling?" He asked with a slight tilt of his head, though he was going to go ahead and figure that it wasn't...mostly because this man seemed more used to all of this than Jonah was.
Though soon after he had spoken up, the door opened again and three people entered, two didn't say anything and instead went to go drop off either his or Elliot's stuff in either room, however the other one had a name tag on and the uniform of a time guide. He smiled broadly at the two of them. "Hello there guests. My name is Rex, and I'll be your travel guide for this trip. You two must be..." he paused and looked down at his hologram watch. "Mister Elliot Tilman, and Mister Jonah Applegate, we'll be traveling to London, 1887, for the Mid-Victorian Era...fun!" He said in an overly perky voice as the other two people had finished dropping off the cases and left.
"We still have about fifteen minutes left, so I'd get yourself all situated, and if you have any questions at all, feel free to talk to me!" Rex said, beaming at them again as he made his way to a separate door that was marked "Staff Only" in big letters. "I'll just be in here if you need me, I'm a certified time pilot, so I can assure you that you both are in marvelous hands! Enjoy your trip on the time pod 15, or as I like to call her: Sally," he explained, patting his designated time pod on the wall before he entered the piloting room which was where he would be spending most of his time for this.
Jonah waited until Rex had left before snorting, holding back laughter. "Sally? Interesting name for a time machine," he decided, talking more so to himself than to Elliot, though it wasn't like he was quiet, Elliot could surely hear everything he said. "That guy's interesting...I like him," Jonah added with a slight nod and a grin. What could he say? Jonah favored the odd balls, the people who weren't afraid to ditch societies norms and be unique, they were fun, not to mention incredibly entertaining.

"No," Elliot replied, though he didn't have time to get into when he'd been before as a group of people entered, two of whom were carrying luggage. He nodded to them as they passed on their way out, a silent thank you, then turned to listen to the third man who had entered with them.
The guy introduced himself as Rex before going on about the ship and departure. By the time he finished, Elliot was left dazed by the sheer energy this man possessed. Still, when Jonah described the man - and his naming habits - as interesting, Elliot couldn't help but laugh and agree. "Definitly," he said, smiling slightly as he put his book down again.
He opened his mouth to say something, but was once again interrupted. This time, it was the screen coming to life witha short, joyful jingle, before automatically running the instructional video. Deciding that he'd better watch this, he turned to it as it started to play.
"Welcome aboard time-pod fifteen, headed for London, 1887. What follows is a short video detailing how this pod works as well as things to remember while aboard, and when exploring the past. We hope you enjoy your trip, and hope to see you again soon," the robotic voice spoke slowly and clearly, and when it was done, the jingle played again, before the video opened up. Elliot glanced over at Jonah for a moment, curious. He remembered his own excitement well, and hoped to catch a glimpse of how he might have looked to an outsider two years ago when he first time-traveled.

IC Jonah's entire focus had snapped to the screen to watch the video, excitement lighting up his eyes. Though it wasn't the time he had wanted, he was still time traveling and that in itself was quite enough to force the fanboy in him out into full force. It was a good thing that Elliot was there, or else he might very well just be geeking out the entire time. Which he had to contain at least somewhat here.
The video started, going over the basics of how the pod worked before leaving off into details that weren't necessarily exactly but were more of fun facts. "Vincover Time Port had been an on going service for over twenty years, having been started back in 2152 by our founder, and the very person who made time travel possible: Jacob Vincover and has been used for vacationing for over a decade. We have many possible times to visit and enjoy, though it is important to remember to follow the rules of time travel. You are not to mess up anything from the past. You are not to leave any of your current possessions in the past. You may not travel to the future. You are to follow all rules your time guide has given you, and you are not to wander off from your designated city and time, if everyone follows these rules, time travel can be an enjoyable vacation for the whole family."
Jonah had heard of a few times when someone hadn't followed the rules, people tried to keep stuff like that quiet, but word could get around. There was a reason they had time police after all, though only here since this was the only place time machines existed. Time travel was a very sensitive thing, you had to be well behaved and you had to be careful not to mess with anything or else you and the future could pay the consequences. Though the idea of traveling to the future was still an interesting idea. He sort of wondered why it wasn't allowed, he had never been told why.
The video finished, going over ways to spend their time during their trip before wishing them a fond farewell and turning off. By now they likely only had five minutes left and it looked like no one else was going here, it would just be Jonah, Elliot, and of course Rex.

Elliot couldn't help but grin as he leaned back in his chair to watch the video play out. It was interesting to hear about the history of time-travel. He'd never been interested in time-travel specifically, not the physics or the engineering, but he did enjoy getting small, easy to understand facts about it. They were interesting, but not so interesting that he needed a degree to understand them. Little tidbits like the original prototype for the time-pod was made of an aliminium alloy to mimc airplanes made sense whether you'd studied engineering or not, and he appreciated that.
The video finished and the screen turned off, colours shifting until it was translucent. Elliot wondered whether he should start a conversation again, but a quick glance at his wrist told him that they'd be leaving soon anyway, so that any conversation would no doubt get cut short. So instead he just smiled and nodded as he rose and walked back into his room, intending to settle in properly now that his luggage had been delievered.
He hadn't brought much with him. Money, ovbiously, and quite a bit of it just in case, as well as change of clothes to sleep in, should he decide to sleep here in the pod. He remembered well how uncomfortable the clothes had been back in the 21st century, he couldn't imagine what the 19th must have been like. Other than that, though, he'd packed the small things that he knew would work - there was no global network where they were going - a stack of papers and a pen, an analogue watch and a book he thought he might enjoy. These primative things weren't used so much anymore, but were sold specifically for time-travel. If you went back far enough, technology that relied on electricity or a connection to a network ceased to work outside of your pod, and most people enjoyed things like being able to tell the time.

IC Jonah figured he would get settled later and made his way over to the door which Rex had disappeared, figuring he would ask how long it took to get from this time...to there, a time jump...it was such an exciting thought, however before he could even bring his first up to knock, Rex's peppy voice filled the room as he spoke over the coms. "Alright passengers, its time we go back in time! For your safety I ask you sit down on one of our seats in the front, make sure to buckle in, we haven't yet fixed the slightly bumpy ride," Rex explained and Jonah looked around before spotting one of the black...almost car seat like seats and hurried over to one.
He sat down and buckled himself in. Bumpy? How bumpy was this going to be? Oh he didn't even think about how time travel might affect his system...he already got almost every type of motion sick possible...was there such a thing as time sick? Well it looked like he was about to find out.

( no worries! there really wasn't much to respond to. )
Elliot did as asked, leaving his room for the front of the pod. A bumpy ride. Yes, he remembered this part. He hadn't expected time-travel to be easy, but he also hadn't expected it to be so uncomfortable. He strapped himself in, leaning as far back in the chair as he could and trying to relax as much as possible.
"They mean it when they say it's bumpy," he warned, turning his head to look at Jonah. "Leaning back makes it easier on your system, something about 'shaking with the pod, not against it'." He didn't understand exactly why, but it had worked for him the last time, and even as somebody who'd gotten motionsick, like, three times in his lifetime, he'd been grateful.
With that he faced forward again, pressing himself into the back of his own chair. His forearms tensed as he gripped the chair for better support, awaiting the pod's take-off.

OOC Alright just checking.
IC Jonah's face paled at that and he rested his head back. "I should have taken nausea medicine before I came..." he said weakly as the pod took off...or at least that's what it felt like, and Jonah could already feel himself feeling sick. He closed his eyes and hoped it was over soon...and then Rex crushed his dreams with just a few words. "Now sit tight, this will take a few minutes," he said.
Rex's voice filled the pod, bright and cheery as ever. "Alright everyone, or well...just you two, Sally will land shortly and we will soon be in 1887, London, if you need to regurgitate your food, there's a bucket under each seat, I'm going to give a brief introduction before we leave, so I suggest you change into time appropriate attire now as soon as we land, and if you brought any money with you, there's a slot by the entrance which works as a bank with money from all different places and times, you can exchange your money there!" He said cheerfully as the ride started to smooth down. "And now you are free to move about again, it won't get bumpy until we land again," he explained.
Jonah took the advice and pulled the bucket out from underneath his seat, hacking up him breakfast. He stayed where he was until he felt his feet stop shaking before he got up and disposed of the bucket before he sort of headed into his room, figuring he should probably change and get the money he needed then.
Meanwhile Rex was in the pilots seat, glad he was so good at acting because currently...he was realizing that something was wrong with Sally.

Elliot pressed the back of his hand to his mouth as they took off, the nausea already setting in. He managed to keep from throwing up though, which was more than he could say for his co-passenger. He gave what he hoped was a small but sympathetic smile, though he only turned his head ever so slightly.
Rex announced that they were able to once again move around, and Elliot didn't waste and time in leaving for his room again, deciding to take the advice Rex had given - that they change and exchange their money now. A quick glance through his wardrobe revealed jackets and waistcoats, as well as tailored trousers and tall top hats. Middle class dress, as expected. Generally speaking, people didn't want to experience the life of those in poverty, and blending into the upper classes, especially during time periods where the upper classes consisted of royalty and nobility, was far more difficult.
He dressed quickly into the provided clothes, folding his own neatly into the bottom of the wardrobe, to be worn again on the journey home. With them, he placed his watch and all other tech on him. Soon they'd be useless anyway. He sighed as he shut the wardrobe behind him and back into the chair, figuring that it must be about time to land anyway.

IC Jonah looked through the clothes until he found something to wear, and once he had dressed himself up in the typical clothing style for that time and place, he looked into the mirror, holding onto his coat lightly. "It's not bad," he told himelf, looking at the clothes from a different angle. "Actually I kind of like it..." he mumbled quietly, yes this would do nicely. Of course he did have to slick his messy golden hair back to look...proper, before putting the top hat on. "I can't believe people actually wore these," he added under his breath before walking out to exchange his money.
He finished exchanging his money rather quickly and placed the now time appropriate money into his pockets when the pod shook and he had to quickly press a hand against the wall to keep himself from falling down. Wasn't the bumpy part of this ride supposed to be over and done with? He didn't want to throw up again...
"Heh, sorry you two...we seem to be experiencing slight difficulties...it's nothing to worry about, I assure you," Rex said as his voice echoed throughout the pod, though this time sounding more forceful cheerful and a bit more nervous as well. Which did nothing to settle Jonah's own concern. "Though, for your safety, I do recommend that you get back in your seats, just in case," he added and Jonah could honestly say that he wasted no time at all, doing what he was told.
Meanwhile inside the pilots room, Rex was just trying to focus on getting them to the chosen era without something happening. However Sally was malfunctioning...going crazy more like, everything was flashing red and honestly he was pretty sure this wasn't going to end well. However he tried not to think about that as he trying to pull the pod into its time, however this was not going to be a fun landing and as they finally reentered time and out of the wormhole, he knew for a fact that they were definitely going to crash.
And crash they did.

The pod lurched and Elliot lost his balance. He just managed to catch himself, muttering a mild curse under his breath, but when Rex suggested they sit down, he wasted no time in doing so. The tone of Rex's voice had changed from the cheerful one he'd been using up until this point to something forced. Even someone as out of touch with other's emotions as Elliot could tell that things were going badly.
He settled himself in his seat again, once again holding nausea back. He gripped onto the chair with everything he had, as though steadying himself would also steady the pod that was clearly past control at this point. He had very little faith in Rex being able to straighten this pod up in time to land; he was no time-pilot, but he was pretty certain this was not supposed to be happening.
He gritted his teeth as the pod reeled again. He assumed this to be them leaving the wormhole because a second later he felt the pod fall. It fell quickly, too, spinning on itself. The added spin was too much, and Elliot doubled over, emptying the contents of his stomach into the provided bucket. Fortunately, or unfortunately, really, he had no time to think about that because with a loud crash and a jolt that felt as though it could have torn him apart, the pod crashed into the ground.
This was why Elliot never took spontaneous weekend trips.
