@happy413
The last thing Morningpaw wanted to do after learning ferocious battle moves in the cold and brittle weather was go clean the nursery. Yet as she she was ordered, she was told to keep a positive expression on and do her work with diligence. She always did the later, but she couldn't help but flick her tail in annoyance as a bundle of fur tumbled in her paws the moment she stepped foot in the nursery.

Russetkit was in his nest, frantically squirming as his golden-furred mother rasped her tongue over his pelt. The tiny tom's tiny jaws opened in a mew of protest. I can groom my own pelt! His amber eyes widened as a shadow fell across the nursery entrance. An apprentice? he thought, curiously watching as the disgruntled she-cat padded into the den. Russetkit's mother finished cleaning him and nudged him out of the nest toward Morningpaw. The flame-coated tom stood glancing shyly at the apprentice before him, his small white paws shuffling nervously. Eventually, kitten curiosity won over and he scrambled up to Morningpaw, going too fast and bumping into the apprentice's front legs. Stumbling backwards, Russetkit squeaked, " Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean to bump into you." he blinked. " I don't think you've come here before. I'm Russetkit."

Coalpaw hopped excitedly on his paws, hoping to go out training with Ashrock. Would he show him some battle moves? Or how to hunt better? Starclan, he was pretty clumsy with hunting, still. The black tom looked around hopefully.
Leaffrost lazed in a corner of camp, letting Longkit and Lightkit clamber all over her pelt. The mottled queen seemed to stare at her clanmates with unblinking eyes.

She hadnt much experience with kits- part of the reason she avoided the nursery in general. Even when she was one, she never bothered with the immaturity of her denmates. Yet as she looked at the amber-eyed kit who stood with his tail pricked up she couldnt help but give a small purr, her unease melting slightly. "Hello Russetkit. Im Morningpaw."

The ginger tom's short tail twitched and he blinked curiously. " What's it like being an apprentice? Mother says apprentices have special duties. Do you have to go and infiltrate WindClan? Can I come? I'll just watch. Or I can go spy on ThunderClan." the kit's amber eyes gleamed and he started fidgeting with excitement. Unfortunately, his mother had failed to enlighten him about how boring apprentice duties really were.

This kit was a sort of innocence and purity that she had never known, at least not within herself and it was a endearing as it was foreign. "Nothing as thrilling as that unfortunately. However we do hunt and practice battle moves. You know, to prepare in case we have to invade WindClan" she replied gently.

He didn't care much for fighting, but hunting sounded fun. " Can you teach me some hunting moves?" the flame-furred kitten mewled. " Then when I become an apprentice, my mentor will be impressed.

The tiny tom eyes widened in protest but Morningpaw quickly flicked her tail across his mouth. "But, if your mother thinks its ok, I can show you a crouch or two. After I clean out the nursery," she added. Maybe kits werent so bad after all.

Also, not to sound petty or anything, but you are kind of controlling Russetkit) Nodding enthusiastically, Russetkit turned and scampered back toward his mother, who was drowsing and not really paying attention to the younger cats. After being shaken awake by tiny paws she gave a nod, giving Russetkit a lick before curling back up. The ginger tom peered out of the nest with round amber eyes. " I can help you clean up!" he squeaked.

Morningpaw mewed as she was scraping moss from the nearest nest and placing it near the entrance so she could easily take it and leave when she was done. She tried thinking of something for a little kit to do but as she wasnt a grown cat herself, she found herself short of ideas. "Well... you could help me take out the moss? Only small pieces though- we dont want you to hurt your paws."

Rustlekit listened to Morningpaw and Russetkit, the blind she-kit tipping her head curiously. Spiderfang was grooming her paws firmly, making sure to remove any dust from between her claws. She turned, noticing Morningpaw as well, but remained silent as she simply monitored them. It was good to see apprentices doing their duties, certainly when they were properly teaching the kits to help them. Lynxdapple tended to brag about Morningpaw's capabilities as well, and she knew the tom well enough that his praises were warranted.
Goldberry searched around camp for Tumblefoot, wanting to hunt with his former apprentice if he was available too. It was certainly more calming to be with him than many others.

Tumblefoot sat outside the warrior's den, cleaning his pads, but his gaze kept glancing toward the apprentice's den. The way he cleaned the same pad, something was clearly on his mind. Cedarstar padded out of his den, shaking his pelt out and taking a deep breath. Walking out of the leadership den was still strange even though many moons had passed since Northstar's death. He paused to take a seat, turning his gaze up toward the sky. How he hoped that he was doing enough for the Clan in StarClan's eyes. (I feel terrible, I have no idea what's going on in the CLan anymore )

(I don't think much has happened as of late)
Goldberry could tell by the way the young warrior was grooming that something was troubling him. The golden tom padded towards him, a hint of concern filling his voice. "Tumblefoot, I was just looking for you...though, you seem intensely focused on something. Are you alright?"
"The leader awakens!" Brittlefoot chuckled as he spotted Cedarstar leaving his den. "I hope you slept well! It was way colder than I liked last night. Hey, er. Need me for anything? We got the patrols done but uh. I get stiff if I'm not moving around, ya know?" He asked.

(I don't even know what was going on before the big poof...)
Tumblefoot blinked in a bit of start when Goldberry came up, he set his paw back down. Glancing again at the apprentice den. "Oh, uh, sorry Goldberry, Uh...what did you say?"
"Brittlefoot." Cedarstar nodded in greeting to the warrior. "I'm glad that Cloudscar got the patrols out, I'll have to speak with him to see how the borders are going." He looked over at the fresh-kill pile. "in the meantime, it looks like prey is returning to the forest. That's a good sign." The leader took a deep breath, looking around the camp. "If you need something to do, well...I suppose the camp walls could get a good look over, make sure everything is secure after the weight of the snow that we had."

Goldberry offered a small chuckle, wishing he had a longer tail so he could rest it assuringly on Tumblefoot's shoulder. He looked at the black tom and tipped his head. "I was just thinking that you seem very distracted." He looked towards the apprentice's den and mewed thoughtfully. "Are you thinking about your days as an apprentice? I know the change must be quite strange, at first." "That sounds easy enough. I'll get a warrior or two to help me out, if they're not doing something else! Is there any particular cat you'd want me to ask to help out?" Brittlefoot asked. He noticed Snowdance though, and quickly flicked his ears. "Er! Nevermind! I think I can handle it, you two talk about what you need!" He offered.

"Oh, um..." Tumblefoot flicked his ear in light embarrassment. "Yes and no, I suppose. It's great being a warrior, but...I...I guess I'm just eager to see some of the other apprentices becoming warriors as well."
Cedarstar took a deep breath. "Have Ratmask help you out, he's been tucked inside the elder's den all leaf-bare and could probably use the task and see if Stormcloud is available too. If ratmask is helping you, you'll need Stormcloud's muscle."

Snowdance shook her head, “Everything is fine.” She said, flicking her tail, “But I think it’s time we talk about Ashrock, Cedarstar. It’s time we end his punishment, it’s been moons now, and I’m sure he’s learned his lesson.” Snowdance continued.

He sat down beside the young warrior, offering with a hint of humor. "I see. You were certainly close with Burningpaw, I remember that very clearly. May I assume that is what's on your mind?" He asked. Brittlefoot flicked his kinked tail in understanding before he hobbled off to find Ratmask. He hoped it wouldn't be too hard to find the patchy furred tom. Stormcloud would certainly be able to make up for the lack of physical strength both himself and Ratmask had. (Gtg for a bit, gonna try and see if I can get something I need at the store.)

Tumblefoot kneaded his paws into the earth, unable to meet Goldberry's gaze. "Is it that obvious?"
Ratmask padded out of the elder's den, his ears back and tail flicking in annoyance. If it wasn't the elders talking his ears off, it was the little kits squealing in their little 'game.' The hairless tom sat down outside the den, licked his paw and ran it over his ear a couple times. The longer he was stuck in this den, the more he'd go insane, he'd swear on it!"

Snowdance sighed, “I know you’re not too fond of your brother after what he did, but we can’t keep him in the medicine den forever.” She said, flicking her ear irritably. She had grown tired of the warrior’s incessant whining and complaining a while ago. “It’s time he’s gone back to regular warrior duties already. And I’m sure Coalpaw doesn’t want to miss out on anymore training with Ashrock either.”

"Coalpaw can easily be assigned a new mentor, Snowdance.' Cedarstar lashed his tail. "As for Ashrock, my feelings aside, I'm not sure the Clan can truly trust him. He tried to sabotage me, who's to say he won't sabotage Cloudscar or Stormfury next?"

“Then talk to him!” Snowdance snapped, annoyed with Cedarstar’s stubbornness, “He can’t stay in my den anymore, it’s crowded enough as it is. I’m tired of listening to him complain, and I’m tired of arguing with him as well. If you don’t trust him to go back to regular warrior duties, then move him to apprentice duties or taking care of the camp.” She said. Snowdance shook her head and sighed, “You can’t keep ignoring this, it’ll only cause problems later on. This was only supposed to be a temporary punishment, you can’t keep him in it forever.”
