Lady Akiko | Camp Weak moonlight filtered through the small flowers of the forest's individual trees, encompassing the clearing in a cool, silver hue. The faint smell of rain on the atmosphere told of a brewing storm that would be upon the valley sometime after midnight.
The queenly SakuraClan leader held her head high as her cats to gathered before her at the entrance. Her face was pragmatic and stoic, as if the craze-filled day had no emotional effect on her whatsoever - which, it truly didn't. Akiko had endured her share of restlessness worrying over the terror that Saburo's death had inflicted on her clan. Now, finally, they could relax, and had let the warrior's body drift peacefully down the river, praying for his soul to reach the heavens.
The she-cat's chilly amber eyes flickered over the gathering cats. "Tonight," she began, head pointed towards the entrance, "...the following cats will accompany me to the Gathering. Tsuki, Sumie, and Takeshi, as per usual... Along with Hikari, Akihiro, Haruka, and Daisuke." Choosing most of the other warriors and apprentices, Akiko turned her head back to the giant red gate overhead.
"All medicine cats, queens, kittens, and elders are to stay in the camp," she mewed. "Tonight is a night for peace and friendship, so remember that you all of represent your Clan. And - do not make any mentions the Oda Clan. The Clan of the Bamboo Valley does not want a bad image." They set off to the clearing in the north, the Northern Clans would be gathering as well. The she-cat set forth a quick but steady pace, making sure her cats were still keeping up with a careful look over her shoulder.
It was quite a lengthy journey, but SakuraClan eventually they neared the clearing. Whispering movements and darting silhouettes spoke of cats moving in individual, giant - yet silent - groups to the clearing that marked the place for Gatherings. At this clearing, Akiko noticed that the majority of the Clans had arrived. Having a territory so far away from the gathering site was an unconvinced, but they got there.
The Date - the cats of the pine forests. The Takeda - of the golden fields. Tokugawa - of the gray cliffs. The Azai - of the city of Edo. And the Fuma - of the spacey forests.
She only hoped...that the Oda cats wouldn't show their faces.
The crowd spoke in excited chattering tones, perhaps due to the mass crowd of felines. Akiko turned to her cats, preparing to leap onto the tall cherry tree that the leaders used as a "pedestal" of sorts. "The Gathering will begin soon, so use the time you all have wisely."

(Thanks for being patient with me. I'll take up your suggestion and have Ikusei already having kitted)
Ikusei | Nursery
Ikusei stretched out her tired limbs and gazed down at the small bundle snuggled up to her, still swollen, belly. Waves of sadness cascaded off of her as she pictured her two lost kits asleep next the their brother... But she would never again see their small frail bodies. She had only known them for less that a sunhigh, but now that they were gone she felt as if a piece of her own self was missing. Sniffing, Ikusei bent down and began grooming her still unamed son. She had decided to wait a least a few more sunrises before naming him, to be safe. He roused from his sleep and stared, still blindly, at his mother. Ikusei sighed, trying to forget the traumatising memories of loosing two of her three newborn kits, and began lapping at his scraggly tufts of fur, lulling back into his dreams.

Tarou | Nursery Worn out from assisting Ikusei with her birth, with Izumi's help as well - Tarou's eyes fell to the one tiny scrap of damp fur that was gently being groomed by a maternal tongue. Two of the white female's kittens were stillborn, with the one unnamed kitten being the sole - and very lucky - survivor. They had to send those two barely born bodies down the river today, and Tarou just couldn't handle such an emotionally painful task. He closed his eyes, sadness clawing viciously at his heart, threatening to spill in the form of tears. So much tribulation in one day... I do hope the Gathering doesn't have any problems.
Looking back down at Ikusei, whom he decided to keep an eye on for a while, he stared at the kitten, trying to get his mind off of this mess of a day. So fragile, yet so adorable, it was... Even with it's eyes still closed, to be honest, his heart melted a bit at seeing the newborn's cute, young face. His melancholy eyes locked with Ikusei's and he smiled a sad but reassuring smile. "Are... Are you feeling alright, my lady? Physically, th-that is? Should I fetch more herbs, or water, maybe?"
( You're welcome. Ah, just for reference, would you like the kitten to be a male or a female? )

Tsuki took a deep breath and stood up taller. She was delighted to be here tonight, especially for such a special announcement. The feminine had never imagined that she'd ever become Commander, yet here she was. Tsuki sat down and began to think of what she would say to her Clan, and others for that matter, when Lady Akiko would announce her new title.
Hikari was chatting with another cat nearby, laughing quite frequently.

Sumie | Camp-Gathering
Sumie had been tracking the location of the sun since sunhigh, her delicate features only rarely turning towards the bright orb in the sky to check. Mentally, she was able to track it rather well, though she checked her caculations every once in awhile to account for possible mistakes.
The delicate Angora had been right on time, and she was now sitting at the entrance to camp, her round, golden amber eyes pinned on the exit to their Daimyo's den, waiting for the majestic she-cat to make her appearance. Sumie was not one to worship their Daimyo like she was another god, the smokey black Angora wasn't particularly one to worship the gods much, either, but her respect for them all was apparent. Lady Akiko had earned hers from moons upon moons of fair and strong hearted leadership, even with the struggles the Daimyo had faced after the loss of her mate and fellow leader.
Her golden amber eyes locked onto the autumn colored she-cat as she began to speak of who would accompany her to the gathering. As she was named, Sumie rose onto her four paws, watching the Daimyo as she continued to speak. There was her brother; that was a small annoyance, and she wouldn't question her Daimyo over it. She barely registered her shaded silver brother as he stood and nervously made his way towards their group, his eyes downcast to the ground.
Sumie made sure that she was the respectful distance from her Daimyo while still moving towards the gathering at a good clip once they had left. If the Oda cats showed up... well, she preferred not to think of the chaos that would ensue under that line of action. She didn't want to have a full out war on her paws; the role of Tactician in a war was exhausting, and though she wouldn't shrink from the challenge, it would be a harrowing time.
When they reached the gathering spot, and Lady Akiko released them to do as they pleased, she slowly stalked over to a rather comfortable spot near the edge of the clearing. She would move in later on if it was needed, but until then she preferred to rest on her haunches and watch the cats.
It always intrigued her how they moved, rather like bugs in the sky, whisking deadly close to one another, but rarely colliding. She watched silently the ebb and flow of the sea of cats, her whiskers twitching slowly as she pricked her ears to listen for little tidbits of conversation between the cats.
Anything that might help them in the case of something happening later on.

Akihiro | Camp-Gathering
Akihiro's white fur with darker silver shading down his sides glinted brightly in the faint light that dappled the camp of SakuraClan. It was filtered moonlight, shining across them rather like how the full moon looked in water, rippling with the movements of the leaves. His large honey amber eyes were transfixed on the ground, watching the movements of the light with a slightly awestruck look.
He completely missed the arrival of his Daimyo, and wasn't really paying much attention until he heard his name called. He jerked his head up for a moment, realizing that he'd just been called for the gathering, and he pulled himself out of the sitting position he'd been occupying just a moment before, turning his gaze back to the ground. There was a small bit of sadness in his ribs that he wouldn't be able to keep watching the patterns that the light was making. Despite that, he was rather honored and happy that he had been named by Lady Akiko to go to the gathering.
He was rather certain he didn't deserve such an honor. After the stress of all of the recent events, Akihiro was uncertain as to where he stood and what he was supposed to do. It was much more comforting to just sit and watch something so simple as the light patterns rather than thinking hard about how to help out with things he barely comprehended.
Akihiro waited at the entrance of camp for Lady Akiko to leave the camp, and he followed near the back of the group, his eyes still trained down. He relished in the feeling of the night wind curling through his fur as they walked, and he eventually lifted his head just long enough to look at each of the cats and recognize them before he glanced back down.
His sister was up there, he could she her pacing just the respectful distance behind the Daimyo. She, unlike him, blended into the dark night, her pelt only faintly illuminated by the moonlight. Part of him wanted to run to her side and walk with her, maybe talk some, but he knew that she took her role as Tactician very seriously and would be angry if he disturbed her. So he stayed back at the rear of the group.
Upon their arrival, Akihiro seated himself near one of the trees, watching the light play out across the earth below his paws again. He was kneading the ground in front of him slowly, happy to try and relax with that, and he rocked from side to side as a small hum played its way out of his throat. This was better. He'd be happy to sit here until the gathering began. He didn't want to bother anyone else with how he was.

[ Izumi | Camp | Tags - - Tarou ]
The molly lazed in close proximity to the nursery, quasi-lidded oculi supervising said lair from afar - circumspect of any fracas that might eventuate anon. Her neophyte was effectuating a sublime venture with the queen, an assignment she’d entrusted the greenhorn with after realizing it to be about time he exercised his training upon post-gravidity.
The feminine did, however, remain on the qui vive. Typically, when a dam had her kits perish due to a complication in the parturition, it put a certain strain on the surmised materfamilias. Not only that, but the depression and shock that might ensue was almost hazardous after childbirth. Gladly, at least one had managed to survive, something even she, the emotionless physician, was capable at responding with a vague grin of relief.

The Congregation | Gathering Date. Takeda. Tokugawa. Fuma. Azai. Seems like the Oda will be last to attend tonight, since the other Clans usually can't travel this far. Relaxing on her haunches, a light 'pink' female with reddish irises sat with the Fuma cats, near SakuraClan. She was known as - ironically - Sakura, healer of the Fuma Clan."Hello, Hikari," the she-cat meowed, greeting her gently in a voice lacking any hostility. "I hope everything is going well in your Clan? I've heard that you have been...having some complications, but I do not wish to invade your privacy."Tarou | Nursery, CampIf only I'd saved her dear children... Tarou touched his forehead to Ikusei's, a comforting gesture, for the both of them. Trying to comfort the mother, he shifted his paws, not knowing exactly what to say. "Try not to further inquietude yourself, my lady," he mumbled his voice sounded hoarse with grief. "It will only bring you more pain. I can't exactly put myself in your paws, but I'm sure that even with one child, he'll live to be a great samurai. And Daisuke will be so proud, regardless."
He paused, looking at Izumi, who stood outside the den a short distance away. He wasn't sure if he was hallucinating or not, but did he see a...a half-smile cross onto her face? He blinked, not knowing if what he saw was real, nor what the slight smile was for. Still, he was naturally curious...oh, what good would it do? She was pragmatic, and no questions would change that, even slightly. Turning back to Ikusei, he rose to his paws, his tired green-orange eyes wide with sympathy. "I'll return in a short while, Ikusei-san. I just want to walk about the camp." With this, he walked out of the den and started towards Izumi, feeling his fur buffet from the slight cold. Perhaps nights would be warmer come spring.
"S-Sensei." A supple, reverent bow was performed along with his greeting. His motions were becoming more fluid, more graceful. Maybe he picked it up from his pedagogue. "I sincerely apologize if I'm disturbing your privacy. But I...I just want to talk to you." His glanced back to the nursery. "Poor Ikusei... She had a hard night. The kitten will grow up without it's siblings, but at least he lived. A very...lucky one."Stormheart, ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע( Darktalon ;; Daisuke can be his father. c: )

Hikari sighed with grief. "Yes a few, but I don't wish to talk about it," the she-cat meowed painfully, wiping a single year rolling down her cheek. The feminine pulled herself together and put on a smile for the other cat. "How have you been?" She inquired, sitting down on the grass.

[ Izumi | Camp | Tags - - Tarou ] The physician merely gave a curt nod, - the only form of acknowledgement thus far - as she abided with scrutinizing the nursery. Plumed caudal coiled about reposed physique, quasi-lidded oculi opening a small margin; almost as though pulled out of a siesta.
“Though emotionally painful, the phase will eventually fade as motherly instincts take over for her remaining kit. Perhaps it would take until he becomes an apprentice to realize this, or maybe even later. After all, grief can generally only cease to bother if you come to terms with the events that have caused said misery. It will still be there, but not as controlling. As for the kit, I’m sure there’ll be more litters to keep him company. Do you understand, Tarou-kun? I do not want this to worry you.” Something to take into account was how naturally her vocables oozed from her maw, like the topic of melancholy was a familiar subject matter.

The Congregation | Gathering "I understand," Sakura meowed, a respectful bow following her words, although her red eyes shone with saddened empathy. The healer curled her plumed tail over her paws. "Ah, well... I've been fine. Fuma has been fine. We had to tighten up our border securities recently...not that anything happened. Just a precaution, with reports of the Oda and all." She looked up at the giant cherry tree overhead, seeing that all of the leaders had taken their places.
The Gathering would begin soon.
Tarou | Nursery, Camp The tabby nodded, almost forthright. "Yes ma'am, I understand," he replied, enervated eyes staring deferentially at the imposing feminine before him. "That makes me feel better..." He gazed back at the creche afar, seeing the vague shape of a resting Ikusei and her caudal appendage curled about her neonate. Yes, it would take a while before such depressing news could be broken to the babe in arms , but soon, he would understand. Even without his sibs, he would still grow up strong, regardless.
The brown male lifted up a shoulder; juvenile, gradient gander retrogressed to peruse his respective paws. "I'm sleepy..." Upon hearing such a...child-like and tired form of his archetypal astute voice, his cranium suddenly snapped upwards at alertness before dissipating into nil but an deadpan sort of mien. "But...I want to stay up until the gathering attendees return to the encampment..."

( Razz ;; Usually it's two, but some have three or four. A few even have a whole council of commanding officers. The northern clans have a greater amount of cats then SakuraClan does, and can utilize them more like armies.
