... ↪ I'm unsure where to put this, for it's a one-on-one rp, but multiple one-on-one rps with multiple people claiming different plots, so since it isn't a search for a single 1x1 partner, I'll leave it here. Anyone is welcome to come and chat, and if you find yourself interested in a plot that is already claimed, feel free to ask if you can join in. We'll find a way to expand the plot this way, so the more people the merrier. In that case, there will be fewer 1x1 roleplays. Explanations of plots, links to their first post in the thread (as I may make more that won't be immediately down below), and whomever has claimed them will be listed in the rest of this post.-- ... Under The Moonlight | Genre: Supernatural, Romance, near medieval fantasy | [ Claimed ]..... }} A romance between a witch and a vampire. A choose your character scenario. ..... — There is a densely-wooded forest that separates the human kingdom from the territory that vampires have been banished to. Yet between them is another force that is not human, nor a monster—witches. They're wanted dead by humans who do not understand magic or the spells they practice, so any witches and warlocks who weren't caught have fled to the woods. This made them more susceptible to attacks from the vampires, so to protect themselves many have tainted their blood. A kingdom has also risen among the vampires, and established royalty has their own plans for war against the humans. The witches and their tree-houses and cottage villages are stuck right in the middle.... The Witch: Nephley Harrison ( ☆ ROCKY ☆ ) ... The Vampire: Everett Beridan ( Darkηesque ) ... The Vampire's Twin: Marlow Beridan ( Darkηesque ) -- ... Don't You See? | Genre: Supernatural, Friendship, Adventure, near modern | [ Unclaimed ] ..... }} A nomadic friendship between a mentoring vampire and a fledgling. ..... — ...... It is her ninja bodyguards and her butler/maid that must keep their maiden safe from the rivaling clan out for her blood and the box. The damsel puts herself into a lot of predicaments.... ... ↪ UNDER THE MOONLIGHT
... ↪ Gleaming skin radiated from underneath the moon's rays of light. A complexion that wasn't seen too often around the pale-skins of these parts. The fairness of this complexion was a darker tone compared to any others you'd fine. This large area indeed belonged to the white-fleshed ones with dagger-like fangs and refined skills.
Crisp air chilled the delicate fingers that glided through the lake before them like a graceful pondskater. The moon shined through to the bright reflection of the water. A beauty that attracted two to its sight. New-coming footsteps alerted the girl sitting at the shore of the lake that she was no longer alone. This was certainly a place she should not have been at all, especially on her own. Though maybe it were safer that way.
"Y'know, I should bring you back to the council for trespassing, but I feel like that would ruin the moment," a smooth voice said from behind the young-woman where the footsteps along the sand and gravel had ceased. "Don't you agree?"
The girl twisted her body and slowly turned her head to peer at the figure behind her shoulder cautiously with shaky sparkling eyes very different from the red-and-topaz gaze that studied her back. Her chin tilted slightly upwards to try and meet his taller look due to her sitting-state. Her hair framed her face in a disheveled way as she made her gesture. She seemed to be calm until her full lips gaped slightly—she was in the vicinity of a vampire. Her head slowly nodded in hesitant response to his question and she quickly looked away from him so she was no longer craning her neck in such a vulnerable way. She had to make herself seem innocent.
Whenever she came here—which was not often—she'd never been caught. Was this it for her?
Water rippled over the lake with the silence before the vampire moved from behind the young-woman to join her at her side by the lake shore. He bent down to a crouch and sat on the backs of his heels and moved his arm to grasp her jaw gently in his fingertips; treating her chin like it was made of fine glass. "Since you're as beautiful as the moon here, I'll let it slide—just this once."
The statement had the girl grimacing before she gripped his wrist. She lifted his hand away from her chin and twisted his arm behind his back. Without a plan, she pushed him into the shallow water while he was still taken off-guard. With a short shriek she hurriedly got up to run before he could do anything dangerous. As calm as she'd been, she wasn't stupid! She had to get away, far away! The only thing she had to fear was him killing her, actually.
Soon enough the vampire surfaced, sputtering out water and furrowing his well-trimmed eyebrows at her. He made no moves to chase after her. "What was that for, m'lady? I only complimented you," he huffed and coughed for some more breaths after the completely unexpected event. Even after that, he didn't find himself mad at her or going crazy. This was just getting all too cliche.
Curiosity caught up to the girl who'd managed to get away a few paces before the vampire's voice stopped her in her tracks. Was she insane?! She had to keep running! Instead, she only looked back at him again before turning around fully. Yes, she'd completely lost her mind. "I bet you only did that to get to my neck, right? To taste my succulent blood? Is that what you wanted?" she inquired, tossing the describing word in there just to throw him off. As if taunting just to see if he'd do anything—if she would get a reaction. Instead, they both remained where they were. Her feet planted to the spot and he stayed soaking wet, waist-deep in the shallower part of the lake. "Well, you can't enjoy tainted blood, now can you?" she added in her attempt to antagonize by revealing the truth. Something that explained why she didn't have to run for her life if he did not pursue and why she was toying with him.
The vampire stiffened, his feet seeping lower into the mud below him the more he remained in the water. Any normal person would be freezing their arse off in the chilly liquid under the night sky, but a man of his creature could not get cold if he was already eternally frozen. 'Where is she getting at? Tainted..? Is she...no. She's a witch?!' he thought frantically and had to swallow down the feeling in his throat.
Draining blood from a human or animal was simple. No after-effects, no side-effects, nothing but a satisfied thirst. However, some humans dabbled in witchcraft. They knew things, both good and bad. Living in a world like this, it seemed every witch or warlock knew a spell or whatever it was to alter their blood. Any vampire who would try to have a bite would come down with a terrible sickness that could lead to their death without need of silver, holy water, crosses, stakes to the heart, or any of the rest of the human theories on getting rid of vampire-kind. Vampires were still trying to learn how to treat it, because they were not aware that a witch or warlock who cast a spell or curse were the only ones who could reverse it.
Shaking the thoughts furiously from his head, he let his piercing eyes burn into her. He needed a cover, because what he'd told her was the bold truth. "I spoke with honesty towards you," he assured with a hearty tone in his voice before he began to trudge out of the mud and back up on shore. "Are you aware though that you are on vampyric territory?" the vampire continued with his question as he slowly approached her, surprised at her lack of running away again. Was he really that captivating?
"Yes...I only ever venture out this far to see the full-moon, since your clan has the best view at the lake," she admitted before shooting a quick look towards the trees. Far into the woods was where she had her home. The land was basically made up for two territories. The kingdom for vampires, and the kingdom for humans—since it was impossible for the two races to ever coexist when one fed off the other. Not everything was so keen in the human kingdom, despite what many would assume. To "keep a peace" with the vampires so they don't attack and feed off them all, it is policy in the human kingdom that if you are caught with a crime that rather than be sent to a prison, you were shipped off to be vampire fuel.
Withcraft was a crime punishable by this method since the king did not agree with attempting to be supernatural. He saw it as wanting to be powerful like the "beasts" that inhabited the other part of the land and banished it. Whoever was caught was sent to the vampires—whom fed on wild animals most of the time and using human blood for feasts or festivals. This is when witches first began to change their blood, thinking it would keep them from being harmed. Instead, they just got a straight death sentence, so any remaining witches that had not been prosecuted fled to the forest between each of the two territories, made their own village, and hoped for the best.
"I'll get going if you want me to leave quietly, nobody has to know," the young-woman continued when the man said nothing yet. She didn't want any trouble, and it seemed neither did he. As long as this vampire was kind, she'd be polite in return. "Sorry for intruding. I shouldn't have come here in the first place," she added and turned to flee, but she was stopped short when a powerful hand grasped her shoulder tightly to keep her in place.
Does he speak, or will she react?

... ↪ FOREVER & ALWAYS
... ↪ The foreign boy wasn't that foreign, but it was true he was new to Japanese schooling. He had come here for vacation many times before, for his mother was native-Japanese and happened to marry a white man. A very rich white man that upon a business venture around nineteen years ago had swept her off her feet and took her to America where he was born only a year and a half after that. His father already had a few young kids at the time—twins. Giving him a slightly older half-brother and half-sister. Well, their marriage had gone into shambles. Always fighting, his father beating him and his mother. She couldn't bear to leave him though until it was finally ushered that she go. It was apparent that recently she had come back to Japan, and brought him, her son, with her. However, deep down he knew even being here she wouldn't be the same. After the life he grew up with, neither was he.
He and his mother had actually been there a while. Getting things situated and settled into their home before he was enrolled in school a tad bit late yet still early into the school-year after getting the low-down about how Japan schooling was different from American. A lot more would be expected out of him, and now he had to wear a uniform! Well, that didn't stop him from adding his own flair. Since it was his first day, he hoped he wouldn't get in trouble. He hoped he'd never get in trouble. His tie was worn a little looser, he had a chain to the wallet in his back-pocket dangling at the side of his pants. Even though he was inside, he still wore fingerless, black gloves. His hair wasn't trimmed neat either. It wasn't long or anything, it was rather short and scruffy enough at his ears, but his bangs were long enough to cover the left-side of his forehead. Also, he still had his bangs dyed green, well, it was very faded now and blended in a lot with the natural black. Somehow he convinced his mom not to make him dye over it, but she said if she got word from the school about it he'd have to. Old habits and way of dressing died hard and he wasn't about to stop completely because his mother made him permanently leave everything he knew.
When the teacher addressed him as new to the class he gave the class a small flap of his his hand because his thumb was hooked between the messenger bag strap and his chest. He surprisingly understood the teacher, somehow. He knew some Japanese, but not a lot. Enough to get by, but probably not enough to pass with spectacular grades. Not that he did that anyway, he just maintained an average. He'd never failed or his parents would have both been very disappointed. Now he assumed his mother would want him to do his best and would probably tutor him with more Japanese. Something he was actually okay with, unlike hating pretty much everything else he'd have to do—like his new job. He had never worked before and now his mother was going to suddenly thrust him into interacting somewhere he was still uncomfortable? Not to forget that he was rather uncomfortable around people in general, but he could get by, hopefully. "But this is where I worked part-time when I was your age," his mom would say, "they'll hire you and it'll give you good experience."
Hm, everyone was staring at him expectantly and for a split-second wondered why that was, until he remembered that the teacher had just asked him to introduce himself! His speckled green eyes widened beneath the edges of his bangs before he grinned awkwardly. Why did he have to introduce himself? Was this a Japanese thing? In American school, if you were new, you just sat down and everyone ignored you. He much rather would have liked to do that instead. "Hello, I'm Tuck," he said before giving the teacher a sideways glance. He wondered if that was enough. He skipped the formalities—no 'my name is' business. He didn't offer a last name, since everyone probably thought his name was weird enough. He also just used his common nickname verses Tucker.
Tuck's eyes then flittered around the room before they landed on that of a girl's head. Well, that was a hair color you didn't see very often, especially here. While waiting for the teacher to say something more or judge him or dismiss him or tell him to take a seat, anything, he just looked at the girl. The cliche phrase seemed true—he couldn't keep his eyes off her. He felt no odd tug or destined attraction or any of that mumbo-jumbo. He just found her cute.
--
A girl was jogging as silently as she could through the halls and every-so-often had to fix the headband atop her head that was keeping her red-brown hair held back behind her ears. Not necessarily part of dress-code, but it was an accessory allowed that she loved to wear. It's like you could never see her without a headband of somesort—or her signature, red ribbon she wore outside of school. In grade school it was "too distracting," so she would never dare wear a red ribbon to school again.
When she made it to the door of her class she pressed to the wall beside it. She knew what she was about to do was completely dishonest, but if she was late again she'd be suspended for sure! If that happened her parents wouldn't let her see the light of day again! She just hoped her best friend's phone wouldn't be seen, but that she would have the courtesy to risk it and see the text that was coming from her.
distract the teacher! o(╯□╰)o don't let him see me come in o(^^"o) she had sent before peeking into the classroom and hoped nobody would notice the top of her head and especially hoped nobody would tattle on her for coming in late, but initially she had to hope her friend would look at her phone first and then hope she'd help her before she could hope anything else!
Akane happened to notice come new kid standing before the class—and he was staring right at her friend! Ooh, that was a juicy sight for her to see. She's have to dish it to her later, because this guy was a hottie! Totally a rebel and she loved that. Almost enough that she hoped this "Tuck" guy was looking at her instead. The red-brown-haired girl snickered silently to herself and gave a quick check to either side of the hall to make sure she was still alone and unseen before peeping back inside the classroom.

Nephley stopped in her tracks as his still wet hand clamped down on her shoulder. She turned her head slightly to look over her shoulder, only half-catching a glimpse of his pale face.
She was almost afraid of being caught by someone else now, someone not as friendly, as if she spoke loud enough it would be obvious that she was here. "This isn't my territory. You made that clear. Why do you want me to stay?" she asked in a low tone.
He couldn't have been keeping her for her blood. She had already announced that she had tainted herself. If not her blood, then what did he want her for? Romance? No, that would be ridiculous. The two had only just met.

... ↪ • Everett Beridan | Under the Moonlight, w/ Rocky In all honesty, the vampire found her question fairly hard to answer. He didn't know why he stopped her, like grabbing her shoulder was all based on instinct. Well, there was a certain charm to witches, so he studied her face closely for a moment to see if she were trying to whisper incantations under her breath. When he saw nothing it confirmed that she couldn't have casted any spells.
Having been on the outskirts of the forest that surrounded this lake indicated that he has just come back from a hunt on unsuspecting animals in the woods. If that didn't give away that he wasn't particularly thirsty, his topaz eyes were also so bright that they resembled white moonlight. Any variations of amber or red in his gaze would have meant blood was his aim.
"Er, I guess I've realized, who am I to stop you from watching the moon, Miss Luna," he said slowly, as if he had to think about the words he spoke. The vampire also gave her a nickname considering he didn't know how to address her. He was one of the most laid-back monsters that could have conveniently crossed her. He really didn't care to trouble her.
His grip on her shoulder carefully unraveled from the muscle that it had clenched. She was free now to leave or stay, unless he was compelled to stop her again. If she had played any mind games so she could stay here at this beautiful view, then he'd see it as a fair one. "Though I may have to stay. Just in case anyone tries to come and bite 'cha," he smirked.

The nickname brought a smile to her lips. "Nephley," she said suddenly, turning her gaze from the sky to the boy next to her. "My name is Nephley."
Why she trusted him with her name, she had no idea. He could just as easily send her in to the council. But there was something about their atmosphere that allowed her to trust him. If he was laid back, she could be laid back, too. It was just for one night after all, right?

... ↪ DON'T YOU SEE?
... ↪ Icy breath mixed with smoke as N'dorsev blew the putrid fume into the snowy wind. The snowflakes fell lightly on his zipped-up trenchcoat with a high-collar that draped over his dark-attired form. As a vampire, the cold didn't affect him and neither did the chemicals from the cigarette in his gloved-hand. The air was so white around them that it'd be hard for any normal human to see anything.
He inhaled another hit of the pollution into his lungs, for it calmed his thirst until he could find a nice victim to drain, and he wasn't alone on this hunt. His apprentice accompanied his side. N'dorsev narrowed his eyes to peer into the distance before dropping the finished cigarette into the snow and stomping it out with a large, buckled black boot.
"N'dorsev..." the fledgling finally spoke after they had walked down the frost-covered trail from the forest to the city. They'd went to hunt some animals first, but with the juiciest prey in hibernation, they hadn't much luck. Time to risk their cover blending in with human-kind to hunt them. "Why've you been so quiet? they continued, turning their amber eyes from the ground their shoes crunched upon to look at the vampire slouching in his side-by-side stride.
Strands of long silver hair covered N'dorsev's face, but fell to frame when the older vampire tilted his head down to return his apprentice's gaze with his own topaz eyes. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, taking a moment for him to say, "Fifty-years-ago today..." N'dorsev's voice was low with a contemplative tone, "Fifty-years-ago today, the land was handed over to humans." Now the harshness of his tone was noticeable before the silver-haired vampire looked up into the sky; lashes fluttering against the falling snow.
Flurries continued to sprinkle around the two cold-blooded vampires. With the snow bothering his concentration at the clouds, N'dorsev lowered his head and ran his fingers through his long locks to push his hair back so he could see ahead. As he did, his silver hair parted to reveal the large streak of white that jagged down the center of his very long hair. Those honey-colored eyes flashed with malice once he spotted some unsuspecting humans sitting beneath a tree and quickened his stroll on the trail.
"Today is not exactly an anniversary that calls for celebration if you want my opinio— oof!" N'dorsev's companion was cut off as N'doresev stopped his pace abruptly and elbowed their chest. With a vampire's enhanced strength, it was quite a blow to the younger vampire who wobbled and brought their arms to their torso.
While his apprentice clutched their ribs, N'dorsev hissed, "You're right, but let's have a celebration of our own, huh? Shh...I've raised you better than to make yourself noticeable when there's prey around. Quiet!" His growl was near a whisper, but serious and almost deadly-sounding. This menace needed to quench his thirst badly. If his prodigy was going to screw-up this chance for them—there would be hell to pay.
The prodigy made a snarling noise in the back of their throat, but did their best to keep it quiet. Being around N'dorsev when they were both thirsty wasn't a good match-up. The older and more experienced vampire was both ornery and easily pissed-off behind his cool-and-collected persona. The fledgling let go of their ribs and stared ahead at a couple at least a block away from them. As they cuddled up to each other to keep warm beneath a tree at the outskirts of the city, the apprentice nodded slowly in understanding. N'dorsev licked his pale lips and inhaled deeply, their scent was delectable even from all the way out here. A vampire's heightened senses made this sight and smell possible from a distance where they wouldn't even be noticed.
"I call the female," N'dorsev hurriedly said to his apprentice and was off in a flash. Even at that speed, the apprentice failed to hear the frost crunching beneath his mentor's footsteps. He was meaning to be sneaky now, not just walking casually anymore. N'dorsev moved in a far circle around where the couple was so he could move behind the tree and ambush them from there.
The fledgling joined in the pursuit, albeit slower, once they could breathe easier as the pain in their chest eased. 'How come I'm stuck with the man..?' they thought, narrowing careful eyes to keep a better focus on the chase and not on their petty thoughts.
White-hair bellowed behind in the breeze as the older vampire leapt into the confines of the branches and leaves in the tree—only a rustle was sounded.
"Baby," the woman murmured, pulling back from her boyfriend's lips and pushing his chest away. "Did you hear something?" She bit her lip cautiously.
"No, Babe. Nothing but the wind," he scoffed with a roll of his eyes and advanced back on his girl to gain more kisses, but it was too late for lips to touch once more as she slumped back. N'dorsev had sunk down the trunk when they were too busy prattling and stunned her into unconsciousness by squeezing at a sensitive-point in her neck. "Hey! What did you do to her—" now his anger was cut off by the fledgling clenching their hands on the man's shoulders, digging his claw-like fingernails into his flesh through even the jacket he wore. Getting a good hold as they sunk sharp fangs right into his neck.
The fledgling feasted with blazing eyes and their nose dug into the side of his hood. It smelled like too much cologne and thought that it surely would not impress the lady. They wrinkled their nose and sucked harder at his throat. The duo were lucky they'd caught them off-guard—how easy.
In the meantime, N'dorsev was already kneeling into the snow, and with the damsel—now dead—draping over his lap, he drained her of blood just above a plump area beneath her collarbone. Holding her head up from sinking too far back with a gloved-hand, blood seeped and painted the canvas where her breasts had been exposed. Only thing that would ruin this delicious moment is if anyone were around to detect them and witness the murders.

It was good to see that she was pleased as she gazed upwards, but just as quickly she was back to glancing at him. His eyes narrowed as he wondered why and when he got her name his eyes flickered back.
As she said it, the 'le' sound had completely escaped past his ears. In return, he repeated, "Nephie." It barely occurred to him afterwards that he was still sopping wet from the lake. Not that the cold was a bother but the wet clothes were. He tried wringing out the bottom of his shirt.
"And I'm wet," he joked, waving the shirt back and forth in the air as a sorry excuse to dry it, exposing part of his chiseled stomach. "No, actually, I'm Everett," he said, also giving his name as long as she started the introductions. Everett moved his hands to push them through his short black hair, shaking them to get some of the wetness out of his hair.

His mispronunciation of her name was a bit frustrating, but she mostly cared about the water he was spraying her with. The correction could wait. At first, she frowned, but then she started to laugh. It was nothing like what most imagine a witch's cackle to be-- It was quiet instead, and fairly pleasant to listen to.
"I didn't intend to soak in the lake tonight, Everett," she teased, looking at him. Her eyes traveled down from his face to the end of his dripping wet shirt. She had yet to apologize for pushing him in the lake, and she wasn't exactly positive that she wanted to yet. She needed to decide if he deserved it or not.

... ↪ MISA'S REPRISAL
... ↪ There was a pattering of feet as they sprinted across the inner courtyard to reach the front of the estate. She had made it out alive once before, but she immediately had to turn back to grab the most important treasures of her family. The princess knew where the intricately carved box was hidden, and was able to grab it before it was stolen by the intruders of her home or before it would burn with the fires that were erupting around her.
Kaj, her bodyguard and best friend, was a trained ninja that easily rescued her the first time after she heard the news that her father had been assassinated and that her family's rival clan was infiltrating the grounds. After disappearing from him to run back, through the blur of tears she somehow managed to spot and save the maid/or butler from one of the many fires that had been caused. Misa's caretaker was trailing behind her now, struggling to keep up after breathing in so much smoke.
Misa was clutching the treasures to her bosom as she ran, when it dawned on her that she had not grabbed the key to the box! Scatterbrained and still crying over the crisis, she turned around only to meet the eyes of one of the enemy clansman. The majority of his face was hidden by a mask, but she didn't need to see his mouth to notice the malice in his eyes. She grew up a spoiled princess with many to protect her from harm and serve her every whim, so she knew nothing more than to shout, "Kaj!" when the intruder made a dash across the courtyard for she and the caretaker.
Misa could only hope her bodyguard had been smart enough to follow her when she ran back, or this was going to be as much of an end for she and the maid/or butler as it was for her late father. The princess didn't understand what wrong her family must had to have done to deserve this terrible fate. With the box held against her chest by one arm, she loosened up her kimono for more room to run with the other before grabbing her caretaker's hand and booking it in the direction they were headed towards in the first place. There was no more use risking their safety and distance from danger for the key to riches.

... ↪ • Everett Beridan | Under the Moonlight w/ Rocky "Oh, I see. When you were pushing me into the lake, you didn't intend to push me into the lake," Everett sneered, but it was only in teasing and didn't mean to sound malicious. He continued to squeeze at various parts of his shirt that were exposed from underneath the clean-cut vest and tie he wore. Before his hair got wet, it was also styled into short, neat spikes above his head.
Prior to the whole situation he was so open about trying to touch her, but now he was courteous enough to keep his distance, considering it was grabbing her face that caused her to toss him into the water in the first place. It was out of protection and Everett understood that. Good thing lakes weren't holy water either, or he'd surely be as good as gone.
Everett blinked wide eyes a few times before scoffing at himself. It only took a snap for fire to appear at his fingertips–a power he possessed. Interestingly enough, powers were something only higher-ranking vampires had, but how was Nephley going to know a thing like that? It was safe for Everett to use the small fire to sizzle and evaporate the water at the bottom edges of his shirt, drying it almost instantly.

... ↪ Well Avi, all I've been able to grasp is that they start school in April, and that's because I think in their hemisphere that's when it's Autumn? Though don't quote me on that cx The friend I originally did this rp with knew a lot more, and my best friend is a Japanese major so things would be figured out as I go along o: There's going to be a fireworks festival early in the school year, too, I know. If you don't have the right characters don't push yourself though, but thank-you I know it's cute c:~ Yeah, I know cx But I maybe have a solution for the characters? I was thinking that perhaps the main girl could be Japanese-American, like the foreign boy, but she's lived in Japan her whole life-- that could be why she's intrigued by him? And then I'd be willing to do some research and make a Japanese guy friend, if you're okay with that cx ))

Nephley stared as he snapped his fingers, watching the fire intently while he dried his shirt with the heat. That was fascinating. Fire in general was admirable to her. It was the element she played with the most. Watching his magic as opposed to hers was almost mesmerizing. She had no idea the boy she'd shoved in the lake was of any higher ranks. She didn't even know there were higher ranks, other than the council.
"You know, that's probably safer to do if it's not on your body."
The words weren't meant to sound flirtatious at all. For a moment it slipped her mind that it wouldn't matter if he got burned. He was a vampire. There were very few things that could cause him harm, and fire wasn't one of them. It probably didn't help that she was almost completely entranced by him now.

... ↪ Sounds like good ideas, Avi ^_^ Oh and this is probably obvious but more for the culture, we get to add -san, -kun, -chan to the ends of their names and whatnot depending~
... ↪ • Everett Beridan | Under the Moonlight w/ Rocky Well, perhaps it turned out that vampires had just as much natural charm as witches had their magic charms. Though because Everett had next to no ego, it's not like he particularly noticed the mesmerizing way that Nephley was looking at him. Surely the fire didn't help him not be a sight for sore eyes.
"Right, because the fire could burn me? It'll heal two seconds later, Lunephie, have you forgotten what I am?" he tried pointing out, just in a normal tone that wasn't trying to be matter-of-fact or teasing. He just couldn't decide on what nickname he wanted to call her, not knowing calling her anything but her real name seemed to irritate her a little.
Due to the water that he'd just been doused in, it really limited the amount of fire that he could produce. Even at just his fingertips it was enough to potentially burn up his clothes, but Everett knew how to be careful. In fact, now he was settling down at the shore of the lake to sit and begin drying up his pants.
What he said earlier resonated with him enough to cause a sigh. What he was, was a monster. Turned away by man and shunned from the world just because of his appetite. Ironic enough, witches were just as much disliked and hunted for, and yet they also warded off vampires with heavy magic and spells.

Nephley blinked slowly, looking up at him. Lunephie. That was something else. After a moment of staring at him, she laughed again, then turned her gaze back to the sky. "Right, of course. I apologize." The smile didn't leave her face.
This was pleasant. The moonlight, the gentle breeze, the company of someone else even if they were potentially dangerous, it was all calm and pleasant. Her fear had dissipated. She knelt down on the gravel next to him, brushing her long black skirt underneath her to sit comfortably by the shore as well.
She heard him sigh and glanced over, the smile faltering a bit. "Something wrong?" she asked quietly, tilting her head to the side.

... ↪ • Everett Beridan | Under the Moonlight w/ Rocky Strange it were that the witch purposefully joined him on the ground, taking a seat right next to where he was at. "Nothing wrong, really. I know that most of my kind fights hate towards us with more hate, so you were scared of me," he pointed out, but then put out the fire with his fingers to gesture at her form. "Yet, here you are now, I've proven that we're not all as bad as we're portrayed."
If she were still frightened she wouldn't have plopped down right next to him on the gravel and the sand, though if she wanted to watch the moon she at least would have kept a distance if she cared about her safety. He had sharp nails and sharp teeth and just created fire out of his handd, but there she was staring at him with a half-smile. Another thought popped into his head like the use of flames did.
"That, or maybe you're completely infatuated with me," Everett chimed, not having tried to flirt since he first approached her. He himself was fascinated by witches, because he wondered how in the world they could learn to practice the same types of magic that few powerful vampires were granted. He didn't know she was one until the tainted blood comment, however, so who knew what he was getting at when he first found her here.
