Matthias nodded. It was certainly not a good predicament for her to be in, and he couldn't find it in himself to just let her figure it out on her own. "Have you at least contacted anyone about what happened? Just so they know where you are?"
~*
Charles laughed. "Being short has it's perks too," he told her. "For one, you can blend into crowds better. People tend to notice us trees whenever we're around." Crap, Alexa was not prepared for this answer. How could she answer this question without making it sound so... like she hadn't and didn't want to contact anyone. "Uh, yeah. But they can't help. They are all so busy and they would have to take a week off of their jobs just to come get me. I don't want them worrying too much or having the chance of losing their job so I said I can figure it out on my own. Besides, my car should be ready before they would get here anyways. Correct?" She didn't like lying but there was no way she was going back. As soon as her car was fixed she would be out of there like a jackrabbit. --- Amelia laughed, "yeah, I guess you do have a point. However, I can't see over the crowd. I have to stand on my tiptoes and crane my neck to ever find anyone. I might be hard for you to spot as well being able to blend so well in with me and my averageness."

( I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!! But doesn't it? Whenever I listen to it now I just see Seth, both a younger version and a future version. It's just so HIM. )
Alia opened her mouth to respond, but Seth cut in before another word could be spoken. “Okay, enough.” He stepped forward so he was nearly between the two women and met Alia's gaze with a hard stare. “This situation isn't going to get better with words,” he said quietly but firmly. “I think you need to be the bigger person here and walk away. You can settle matters when Anya calms down.” He'd almost said “when Anya returns to normal,” but until he was absolutely certain of Anya's apparent abilities, he thought it best not to draw attention to it.
Alia looked inclined to argue, but decided against it at the last second. She gave a curt nod, shot Anya a look that was half glare, half confused frown, then spun on her heel and marched off with her shoulders back and her head held high.
Seth watched her go for only a moment before turning back to Anya. “Alright, sweetheart. Time to calm down. We have things to discuss, and I need you rational and… you know, you.”
( She should, like, try to hit him or something. Maybe not now, but in future? Like she just gets so mad (either naturally or through magical influence) that she just starts pounding on him like he was a punching bag. I think that would be hilarious. xD )

"Whether they can do anything about it or not, letting them know where you are is the smart thing to do," Matthias said. "What if someone else came along while you were on the side of the road? Someone with less helpful intentions than us? Now, I know there's not much to prove we have no ulterior motives, but that only serves my point? If someone you know knew where you were at last, they would at least have a starting point for police to start looking for you if you suddenly disappeared."
"Don't hold back, Mat," Dallas muttered from the passenger seat. "Terrify the poor girl even more, why don't you? He means well. He's just a protective person."
~*
"Trust me when I say I have no trouble finding you in a crowd," Charles told her, his voice ringing with sincerity. He could always find her, whether by sight or by sound of her voice. She was all he could see some days.
(Add this one to the list of songs he sings at random moments to annoy Stel. XD )
Anya only glared at Alia as Seth did his best to defuse the situation. Had she still had that initial anger that started this whole thing, she might have turned on Seth again. However, as her mentor turned to leave, she could feel the need for arguments fading. Slowly. "I am rational," she told him, fixing a hard stare at the man before her. She needed to tilt her head back some to do so, but she didn't care.
If you were rational, you wouldn't have spoken like that in the first place, Corrik retorted, causing his Rider to glance his way. She was irritated, but whatever snappy reply she would like to have made, she kept it to herself.
(We're thinking the same thing. XD I've been wanting that to happen since day one. I think it'd be amusing due to their size differences, as well as a little emotionally challenging for Seth as he tries to figure out what he did to deserve it.)

Her parents probably wouldn't even care that she's gone anyways, they are probably happy that she's gone. Besides, she probably would have heard something by now if they were looking for her. Plus, she was an adult so she could do what she wanted. They couldn't keep her there if they wanted to. "And he's fine, it's good to know that he worries," she defended Mat. "I also have pretty good intuition and so far I haven't been let down by you two." --- "If you say so," Amelia answered not believing him. "But I'm pretty sure I could hide in a crowd fairly easily from you. But being as you are tall, I can pick you out easily as well."

Matthias gave Dallas a withered look, but said nothing to defend himself. It was true. Someone had to protect this lot of idiots he was in charge over. "So long as they know," he told her, and let the subject drop. As he did, he pulled onto the dirt road that would take them to there house. It was quiet a drive from the main road, with no other houses around. In five minutes, they pulled up to the large, two story cabin that the two men, and some others, called home. Matthias parked the truck right in front of the porch. As soon as the engine was shut off, the front door opened to reveal a man about Matt's age, with sandy blonde hair cut short. He didn't have the most pleasant expression as he watched Dallas all but tumble out of the front seat.
~*
Charles chuckled and decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. "You are probably right about that one," he told her. "You do know the city better than I, which means you know all the tricks. I'm sure you could hide from anyone if you wanted to."

(I still remember the first song I ever heard from them. It was Welcome to my Life, and thus my emo era began. XD I've never looked back since. XD )
"Y-yeah, I'm just... really tired all of a sudden," Anya responded, glad to have the aid to steady her. Her voice was normal. No traces of her outburst was visible. Was this from her use of magic? She knew magic took energy, but she didn't think her brief summoning of fire would have this kind of effect. Briefly, she glanced around for Alia, but saw she wasn't around. However, there was a scorch mark on the ground where she knew the other woman had been not long ago. A few patches of grass were even still on fire. Her brows furrowed in confusion. Memories of the last few minutes trickled back into her mind, but it felt too surreal to have actually happened. "What happened?" she asked, hoping Seth could confirm the truth.

( I think my first Simple Plan song was Jet Lag. xD
Okay, so, I'm having fun with this find-theme-songs-for-Seth thing I got going, so here's a few more: Good Enough, by Lifehouse; this is Seth's childhood theme song, before he grew into his independence and accepted his lot in life. The World is Ours, by Eleven Past One; this is his flying theme song; it basically describes his mindset while enjoying the escape and freedom of flying with Stel. Gone Gome Gone, by Philip Philips; and this is the Seth buried under the asshole Genevieve created. ;D )
Tired. That made sense, actually. If Anya really had absorbed his and Alia's anger (and he was now about 95% sure she had), then she would have been using her magic - and a lot of it. It was one thing to use a lot of your magic in one go when you were well-trained and accostumed to the drain on your energy; it was another matter entirely to use so much power without even realizing it.
Seth smiled slightly at her question. "Well that depends. Do you want the light-hearted version, or the stone-cold truth? Or maybe some kind of mix?" He asked because he wanted to see that she was, without a doubt, back to normal.

(Ah, yes, I've heard it. XD I don't care what anyone else thinks, they're a great band. xD
Lol, I do that all the time. I will be sure to give those a listen because I'm very much intrigued.)
This time, when her eyes met Seth's, they were filled with worry. There was two options of how to present the information? Dread soured her stomach. Maybe those surreal memories were real then. "Whichever one tells me why I feel like I've run five miles without a second to rest," she answered, deciding to let him decided. He wouldn't lie to her, nor would he be too harsh. Blunt, maybe, but he wouldn't just be cruel in his explanation.

I'm sure you could hide from anyone if you wanted to." Alexa was glad he dropped the subject, she wasn't quite sure if she could keep lying like she was. She might slip up if it continued. She observed the house as they pulled up. It was very secluded and she worried maybe she should not have come but she was trusting her gut and her gut told her she could trust these men, there was just something about them that was trustworthy. Slowly, however, she jumped out of the vehicle and then stood next to it not know quite what next to do. Rocky jumped down beside her. (Hey, I was wondering. Are we doing the whole soulmate thing with Dallas and Alexa? Are you aware of that in the paranormal romance universe? If not, that's alright.) --- Amelia grinned because she had won. Her competitive nature had snuck out a little bit and she couldn't help it. "That may be mostly true, but I doubt I can hide from anyone. My mother can always find me."

(I know of it, albeit not much, but I wasn't going to assume that's what was happening. I was just kind of letting it go and seeing how it went. If that's what you want to do, then we can do it.)
"Come on in," Matthias invited, walking after Dallas to make sure the boy actually made it up the steps. Of course, he wasn't in any danger of losing his life, but the boy had fair amount of blood. The way he stumbled like he just had one too many drinks proved that. "The whole house will be awake soon enough, so one more person won't disturb anyone."
When Dallas reached the frowning man, he tried to give his best charming smile. "Hey, Stitch," he greeted, but the man wasn't having it.
"Get your but down to the office," he muttered. If he noticed the girl with them, he made no comment of it.
~*
"Mother's have an uncanny ability of knowing where their children are regardless," Charles said with a chuckle. That just made him wonder how much his mother actually knew of his whereabouts at the moment. It didn't bother him too much. After all, if she knew where he was running off to, she surely hadn't said anything about it. "So, how do we get this started? The painting I mean."

(I don't care if we do it either but I think doing parts of it is alright. For example, why she can feel she trusts them so much maybe? And maybe just feeling a bit of a pull toward Dallas and Dallas feels the same. If there's anything else, I'm sure we could work it in without being too obvious as well. What do you think?)
Amelia followed them and kept Rocky tight on his leash to make sure he didn't go running off or make to much sound hopefully. "How many other's live here?" She wasn't quite sure what to make of the other man that was there whose name was apparently Stitch. He didn't seem very pleased but also didn't give any attention so she figured she would be alright. She saw Dallas stumble and thought maybe he lost more blood than she thought, she should have called the hospital and she was ashamed she hadn't thought of it before. But he was in good hands now so she shouldn't worry. She knew he would be taken care of. So instead she asked, "where would you like me at the moment?"
---
"That is very true," Amelia commented and set down her things on top of the hill. She then turned to Casper and brushed her hands off suddenly a little nervous but didn't stumble as she said, "that would depend. Is there anything specific that you want to paint? You're painting should come from some type of inspiration."

Yes. They're pretty bad at showing it, especially around other people, but those two would burn down the world for each other if they had to. ^^
Yeah, I can't wait to see more of that Seth come to the surface. He's going to shock everyone and himself. xD
‘Fictional Characters R Us,’ I believe. I hear it's very hard to get to. ;P )
Seth debated her response for a moment before replying simply, “You used a lot of uncharted magic, that's why.” He gave her a minute to digest that before continuing. “You used siphoning magic. Not as uncommon as dimensional magic, but still pretty rare. Basically - and don't ask me how you did it, because I have no idea - but basically you stole mine and Alia's anger and made it your own. Hence, your temper tantrum. Or would you prefer I call it your ‘fit of temper?’” He was hoping his dash of teasing would lighten her mood some, but he doubted it. There was a chance she wouldn't even recognize it as teasing in her current state.

(That sounds good to me. Maybe she's got something in her own family tree that might have ties to the supernatural as well, which would explain why she would feel such trust and comfort from him as well. Something to think about for her as the plot progresses.)
Dallas held up his hands in the universal sign of surrender. Lowering his head, he made his way towards the back of the house where Stitch had converted into a mini hospital ward.
"Ten, including Dallas and I," Matthias informed her, waiting until she was inside the house before closing the door. "I know, it's a crowd. No privacy whatsoever, but we tolerate it. Are you hungry? Thirsty?" With that question, he led the way into the kitchen. "And you don't have to worry about your dog. Let him loose. He won't hurt anything in here that hasn't already been broken."
~*
"Hmmm," Charles murmured as he inspected the scenery around him. It was all beautiful, and it made choosing difficult. How was he supposed to paint anything that resembled real life? His eyes moved back to Amelia, and his lips twitched up into a smile. "How about the lovely vision beside me?" he asked, giving her one of those all too sincere flirty comments. He shouldn't be doing this, not when he was about to possibly break her heart.
(XD HE'S TOO PRECIOUS!
I would love to see that happen. xD I'd hate for whoever had to experience their wrath, but I'd love to watch, lol.
Seth just needs a hug. He gets too few of them.
Do you think they'll take Monopoly money if I can find them? XD )
The color drained from her face as she listened. So it was all true. Now it was ll falling back into place. The unexplained annoyance of their shouting. The impulse that caused fire to spread along the ground. The words... Oh gods, had she really said all of those things to Alia? "H-How? Why?" she asked, looking up at Seth horrified.

Same, though. ;D
He would argue against that statement, too. xD
Only one way to find out. ;D ) Seth opened his mouth to reply, but shut it again before saying what first came to mind. Anya was genuinely distraught over this new development and she wouldn't appreciate him making light of it. Instead, with a soft sigh, he put his hands in his pockets and shrugged. "I'm not really sure of the how or the why. Some Riders just show a natural affinity for certain magics. I did, with dimensional magic. It's just something that happens sometimes. It's not a bad thing, Anya," he added, hoping to ease her fear. "It's just something you'll have to adapt to, something you'll one day learn how to control. You won't always siphon everyone's anger willy-nilly; you'll do it on purpose, or not at all. It'll just take time."

Lol. I apologize for my poor last response. Had to go eat, but I wanted to reply before I did. Just as I will apologize with this one. I don't know why I'm having difficulty expressing her emotions with this.)
"But I've never had any signs for this before!" Anya said. Really, she never showed any signs of magic until now. Her brain was just having difficulty coming to terms with how she acted. Inexperienced or not with magic, that was the part she couldn't handle. "I had no idea it was happening. How can I learn to control that?" If that's what it felt like to feel another's anger, she wanted no part of it. Just look at what it had caused her to do! She had probably just ruined everything with her mentor, and set her training back to square one. Either that, of Alia would refuse to be her mentor any longer. The thought alone was enough to choke her, tears springing to her eyes. Casting a helpless glance to Seth, she asked, "How do I fix this?"

( He really doesn't. xD Good thing he has Anya now to teach him. ;D
No worries, girlie! It all looks good from where I'm standing. C; ) Seth wasn't sure what to say. Most Riders he knew would be ecstatic if they woke up one day and suddenly possess such powerful magic. Although, put that way, he could understand why Anya wasn't one of those people. She wasn't power hungry; any magic would be great in her book. Except, apparently, this magic. A form of magic, he realized, that when used, made her act like someone else. That could terrify anyone.
He took a deep breath. "You can't fix it, Anya," he said, firmly yet gently. "You can only master it. I don't know how to go about that yet, but I'll help you figure it out. Okay? You're not alone in this. And if it makes you feel better, if this ever happens again, I'll make sure you don't say anything you'll regret."

( Probably not, no. xD
Will do! ;D ) Seeing his words had no effect on her, Seth sighed. He rubbed his forehead with one hand and looked at her with one eye slightly closed, though he was unaware of this fact. "You're really having a doom and gloom moment here, aren't you? Do you need a punching bag? Or, no, you already got all the anger out. A drink, maybe? A game of poker? I get the feeling a spa day has little interest for you," he mused aloud. He was pretty sure everything he'd mentioned was of little interest to Anya, but he had no idea what she normally did to lighten her mood, if it ever went dark normally to begin with. He only knew what Cami liked to do when she got mad and needed a stress reliever.

Anya nodded. "Yes, I'm more than aware that's what you mean. We do have alcohol in my town too. It's not uncommon for us to have some every now and then," she told him. She wasn't a big drinker. In fact, she handled her liquor like she handled her emotions, poorly. Her brothers would often poor her a little ale or beer from time to time on rough days, just to get her to open up and tell them what was bothering her. It was her third oldest brother who had given her too much on one sitting and discovered her low tolerance for the stuff. There were no negative side effects, though, thankfully. One drink wouldn't hurt. If anything, it might do her some good.

Ooooh, will we get to see a drunk Anya??? :D Seth still looked a little surprised, but he just shrugged. "Alright. Let's go, then. I know just the place."
~ quick time skip ~
Seth shouldered open the door to the Dragon's Tooth Bar, then caught the heavy door as it tried to swing instantly shut as soon as he moved out of the way and held it open until Anya entered. Letting go, he used his now free hand to wave at the scene before them. "Welcome to Dragon's Tooth, one of about a dozen bars that has the word 'dragon' in its name." The bar was a smaller one, but that only served to make the moderate crowd look bigger. Currently, there were only old veterans and regulars to the place, with a couple younger folk thrown in as well. Anya was, so far, the only woman.

Depends if I can make her college white chick level drunk without making either of us cringe too much. XD I can either make her act really stupid, or just make her a sleepy drunk if you think this will be a bad idea. xD)
Anya had stayed close to Seth the entire journey, not really saying much. There wasn't much she could say that would have broken the awkwardness that was around them. When they entered the bar, she at least had enough sense to snap out of her thoughts to glance around. Already, she could tell this was a nice place. Her town didn't have bars on their own. They weren't big enough for a place like this. So the town folks would usually take up residence at the dining hall of the local inn. It was more than enough to hold the villagers who were looking for a drink and a hot meal after a long day at work. The bar felt too small for the crowd it held, and, to be honest, she should have expected this. They were in the middle of a city. Of course there would be a crowd even at this time of day. Upon her inspection, she noticed the lack of female patrons, and her feet brought her subconsciously closer to Seth's side. "It's nice," the woman commented, more for the sake of saying something than actually complimenting the place.

I vote stupid/crazy. I so want to see Seth's reaction to a drunken Anya. xD If Seth noticed her move closer, he didn't comment. He just shrugged. "It's not the nicest in Ilirea, but it's not the worst either. I come here when I want to avoid... Well, just about everyone I know. This place is too small and out of the way for most of them. And anyway, they have the Dragonlayer; compared to that place, this one would probably be considered a dump."
"Seth Accio," a booming voice called from across the room. "Are you hiding over there insulting my bar?"
Seth's lips twitched with a repressed smile. "I don't hide," he called back. "And I wouldn't dream of insulting your precious bar, Abe." He nudged Anya's arm with his elbow and gestured for her to follow him before proceeding her to the bar on the far side of the room. There, standing behind the bar, propped up by his massive arms with large hands flat on the bartop, was the man who'd called out to Seth.
Seth waved a hand at the large man. "Anya, Abe. Abe, Anya. Abe owns and runs the Dragon Tooth Bar. Anya is the Circle's newest Rider."
Abe looked at Seth shrewdly. "Is that all she is?"
Seth frowned. "What else would she be?" It dawned on him a moment later when Abe only stared at him. Seth coughed into his hand and avoided looking at Anya. "Yeah, no. Just the new Rider."
"Hmm... pity," Abe rumbled. Finally, his gaze swung to Anya as his hands went to work preparing a drink. "Welcome, girl. What'll you have?"

(Lol, then the poor boy's going to have to deal with two mood switches from her today. xD I almost feel bad for him. Almost. Seth should order for her, since he doesn't know what's to come. He'll get her a stronger drink that he tends to like, it's far too much for Anya, and then he has to deal with the consequences. XD)
That was the second time today that someone's mentioned the term Dragonslayer. Maybe it was a bad omen. One that she should have paid attention to. Of course, it was just a simple name for a bar trying to stand out among competition, but still, she didn't have the best feeling in the world about it. Nor could she really comment because of the booming voice that suddenly filled the room. Looking around, she tried to find the owner of the voice. It was difficult since now there were more than a couple people looking there way. Luckily, Seth knew and was leading the way once more. She followed him over to the bar where a mountain of a man stood propped up on the counter. She had to resist the urge not to stare and make herself look as intimidated as she felt. At least he didn't seem like the unfriendly type.
For the introductions, she nodded in response to Seth's explanations of who they were. "It's nice to meet you, sir," she responded. The man certainly looked like he could manage running this bar with no problems. There wasn't really much more he could have added to her, so it surprised her a bit when Abe had asked if she was simply just a Rider. Even Seth was puzzled. A small silence stretched between the two. Confused, she glanced from Abe to Seth, who wasn't looking in her direction, and back again. Whatever was going on, she wasn't sure, nor did she really care to ask at the moment. "Thank you," Anya replied instead, moving on with the conversation as Abe was. "Um, what would you recommend?" It was more for politeness than an interest of trying something new. She would most likely end up ordering an ale or something mild, something familiar. There was still a whole day she had to get through after all, and she would like to do it as sober as she could manage.

Aye, aye, Captain! One Seth Order coming up! *salutes* xD ) Abe grunted as he slammed a glass down on the bar in front on Seth, somehow without spilling a drop. "Ask Seth. Boy's drunk more drinks here than any other patrons."
Seth held up one finger to protest. "I've tried a wider variety of drinks than other patrons," he corrected.
Abe just shrugged. "Same difference."
Seth shook hi head with a sigh, but he knew better than to argue with Abe. Instead, he just asked Anya, "What do you normally drink?"
Oh! Oh! Oh! She should actually end up spending the rest of her day in Seth's bed (sans Seth, of course ;P). She could get drunk enough that Seth brings her to his place, cause it's closer, so she can hide out and "work it off," only she passes out once there instead so Seth just tosses her into his bed and changes his idea to "sleep it off." xD THEN! When she wakes up, maybe she can see his drawings. :D Then Seth will drop her back at Headquarters, before heading off on his mission, and Silas can be lying in wait to say something that sends Anya after him. ;D
