(Oh, yeah. As far as spending time with family goes, it was great. It's other things outside that that have been crummy.)
I hope not. I'm starving, Tori signed when he rejoined her. They hadn't had a very big lunch today since they weren't sure how much time they would have walking between classes. They had plenty of time, but neither one of them had wanted to risk being late. So food had been sacrificed for the time being.
~*
(I'm going to assume you meant "how" instead of "his". XD Happens to me all the time. Sure, you can start. If you want, have him just wake up, see Celia still hasn't slept, and take this perfect chance to make the two cuddle for the first time in history. XD)
~*
Phallon had the urge to tell him that she would, indeed, hurt someone if pushed to it. She wasn't afraid of a bit of confrontation. However, she stayed silent. Interjecting might just end badly for the moment. It was hard, though, to not feel her cheeks warm slightly as Rico listed the positive traits of her. Yeah, she's had plenty of family members tell her the same, but it felt strange coming from someone like him. Someone who hadn't known her for a long period of time, yet seemed to have become her best friend rather quickly.
The Queen meet his gaze evenly. Like Ches, she had a difficult time reading the boy's heart, his fears and desires, of all things he kept close to him. The girl was an open book, but her Cat was a different story. So she had to rely on the cues she could see physically on his face or hear in his voice, the way anyone else would. "It sounds like she's quiet the person to have befriended."
~*
"I hardly doubt there would have been any spot to be considered a 'good' spot where you lived," Celia huffed. She hadn't seen all the city had to offer, but, from what she did see, it didn't look like the kind of place people stayed just for fun.
(It's fine!)
But there was no Mason for her to look to. After the man had declared for the swift exit of his parents, he turned and walked from the table. Seething, he stalked to his bedroom, really the only place he could go without leaving himself. As if that hadn't been enough to convey his anger, the slamming of the door behind him was.
Russ startled at the loud noise. He had sat through the scene at the table, eating as if nothing was going on. However, at the loud bang of the door, he got scared. "Momma," he cried, turning to seek comfort from his mother.
Timothy and Ruth sat there for a moment. Expressions of complete shock, guilt, and devastation written on their faces. "This was a horrible idea," Ruth muttered, tears forming in her eyes. "We shouldn't have said anything."

(Poor Mason...)
Riley’s eyes followed her husband to the bedroom and she flinched when he slammed the door behind him. Part of her just wished Mason would stay out here and talk it out with his parents like an adult, but another part of him didn’t want to blame him. Not when he hadn’t even gotten a chance to truly know his twin. For a moment, she even felt guilty that she knew Russel better than Mason had.
She was pulled out of it by the way Russ called to her. She stood up and moved over to his chair, picking him up and holding him close. “It’s okay,” she said comfortingly, kissing the top of his head and beginning to rock him slightly.
Dani just looked confused as she stared towards the door. “Daddy?” She said, looking towards Riley and then towards her grandparents.
Riley looked back over towards his parents. “I’m sure he’ll come around to the idea...” she said, not completely convinced of it herself. She truly hoped he would. She loved being close to his parents and knew the kids loved their grandparents and she was sure the next kid would too. She didn’t want to lose that if Mason was having problems. “It’s just...” she stayed quiet for a moment. “Russel. Mason never got a chance to truly know his brother and I think he’s just... hurt.”

(Let him be happy! Poor boy)
Since Dani seemed confused instead of scared, Riley left her in her chair and sat back down with Russ in her lap. She looked over at his parents and then longingly at the bedroom door again. Maybe she’d just sleep on the couch - give Mason a night to cool off before she tried to talk to him about everything. Yeah, that would work. And she could probably manage the twins on her own tonight. He managed it when she was working late. She just nodded at Timothy’s words. “I want to say it’s just a case of bad timing. Not telling him, but you guys getting back together now. I know he still hurts from Russel’s death. I mean, I know I do, and Mason had a lot less closure than me. He also got to see my twin brothers growing up together. Now he’s going to see our twins growing up together. Something he missed out on. I’ll... I’ll try to talk to him tomorrow.”
(Sorry if I’m getting masons feelings completely wrong. I’m trying my best XD)

(Mmmm i guess. I’ve had my chance to mess with Riley so you can mess with Mason as much as I want my boy to be happy. Oooh okay good. I just wanted to make sure I had at least a bit of an idea of what was going on)
Riley nodded, hating to see how upset Ruth was getting. Back when she was dating Russel, Ruth had been like a second mother to her. With how busy her own mother had been with seven children to take care of, it had been nice to have the other woman there. “It probably wasn’t the best option, but there’s nothing that can be changed now. I just... I just want Mason to be happy, but that doesn’t mean you guys shouldn’t be happy either. I’m happy for you guys and I hope mason will be able to agree with that one day.”

Quill somewhat knew the effect he had on women. There were plenty of them that he had watched swoon and sway with a certain look or spoken phrase on his part, even without his trying to be flirtatious. Part of it, he knew, was exaggeration. Some of the women that acted such ways were only hoping to catch his eye, to gain his concern, or charm him one way or another. Now, he would admit that there were a few girls that he genuinely liked. Some where down to earth and pleasant to talk to. However, none could ever compare to the company of his dear Gen. The two had just been through too much, their bond too strong.
At her comment of one of the many childhood pranks the two accomplished, he didn't even try to stop the loud laugh that erupted from his chest. "That was a good three days worth of planning well spent," he told her, sharing in her giddiness of the memory. "I still can't believe Cook let us in with all of them. How did she not know we had so many frogs with us?" Of course, they had been cleverly hidden away in a burlap sack of course. Not like they weren't trying to escape or making any kind of noise. "And Dad even defended us! Do you remember how he was trying not to laugh when the Governor approached him about it the next morning over breakfast?" Genevieve knew Quill was doing the exact same thing she was: recalling every prank or trick or little scheme they had planned together. Nostalgia washed over her and she smiled as they walked. She was sure everyone in the castle despised the duo. They had played pranks on a majority of the staff and were relentless, being the king's heir and ward definitely had its perks. Genevieve clasped a hand over her mouth to hold back the laughter she was sure would erupt, she remembered clear as day how Quill's dad defended them the next day. He had defended them will his whole being, and everyone in that room, including the king, knew it was them. Yet still, he defended the two kids. "I can't believe that! Still to this day it surprises me he even supported us. Well, you I understand," Gen said matching her steps with Quill, like a soldier marching in time, "But me? Just some ward he picked up. He could've treated me like nothing, but he brought me in and made me one of the family, and again, always got me out of trouble. He's a godsend." Gen said, shaking her head and laughing, all the while trying to hide the guilt that crept up inside her. "Do you think he would forgive us if we didn't show up to tonight's dinner?" Genevieve asked, wiggling her eyebrows at Quill. Then her mind wandered, what if they went for a ride and got lost, they couldn't return until after and maybe she could spare Quill's life. A flicker of hope lit, but she knew it wouldn't work, her father wouldn't stop until any threat to his reign was gone, and if he tried to take over without killing the heir, or marrying it to his own, he wouldn't be satisfied.

(My characters just aren't safe. XD Yeah, it's all good. ^^ )
Timothy nodded, glad to have at least their daughter-in-law supported their decision. He knew of the mistakes now, but wasn't everything easier to see in hindsight? "Thank you, Riley. There's no date set, and we'll probably not set one until we know for sure if Mason's going to be okay with it."
Of course, the king wasn't supportive of the pranks. On several occasions the two had been scolded and punished for the pranks on certain people. Harmless pranks normally went unnoticed, but there were some that nearly crossed the line. Those were the ones the kids had to learn the consequences of. The prank on the Governor had been one that was well deserved. He was a prudish little man, always uptight and a stickler for protocol. He was also the type of man who would find loopholes in the protocol that would benefit himself or his family. No one much liked him, which might have been the only reason why the King hadn't ratted out the two of them.
"He loves you more than he does me," Quill told her, entering the kitchen as his laughter was struggling to subside. "And I mean it. I think secretly he wanted a daughter all along. There were plenty of things you got away with that I would have been skinned alive for." Not really, but he certainly would have received a lecture at the very least. His head tilted slightly to her last question. "I would love nothing more the to skip out on the festivities, however, I already promised too many people that I would attend. Unless, of course, you wish to kidnap me. Then it wouldn't be my doing, but rather yours. I'd be more than okay with that."

(Mmm messing with characters is fun. I’ve got some stuff in store for Riley later)
Riley nodded. “Look, it’s just a lot for both of us to take in right now. I mean, between the twins and the new baby and both of us working and helping our various members of my family and I’ve even been looking for a house for us, we’ve got a lot on our plates. Mason, especially, with how he’s been taking over a lot of the chores and childcare. Just... give him some time and I’ll talk to him tomorrow if I can,” she said, she leaned down again to kiss Russ, resting her cheek on her son’s head as she let out a long sigh.

OOC:Text (Ah I see, well I'm glad that you had fun with your family. Sorry to hear about the other though… I'm assuming work issues, cause that's never fun…)
Maverick laughed gently and nodded in agreement. “Oh so am I… That was nowhere near enough food for lunch,” he said, blowing out his cheeks as he let out a breath. “I think they said that it would just be like 5 minutes. Soo just enough time for us to cuddle in the booth,” He said with a chuckle.
(Mav’s roommate so has to eat the leftovers that they bring home. XD)
.-=-.-=-.
(Lol yeah that's why I meant. Same, usually though I'm quick enough to catch it before I post. And yes! We need to finally get these two to cuddle! Okay I'll start. I guess when he sees she's not slept, he would sit up and get her to sit next to him? Or should he come down to sit next to her?)
Lachlan had a sound, but not at all good sleep. He had been dreaming what sometimes came to him, where he found Celia in the ally. Only this time when he looked into her face, he saw that it was his own, and looking down he saw that he was seeing this from Celia’s point of view. It seemed not long after, the boy had woken up. Thankfully this time he didn't jump awake, but merely slowly opened his eyes. Lach slowly looked around, and fairly quickly his eyes landed on Celia. She seemed to still just be sitting where she was before. “Hey, Celia?” he asked, his voice barely a whisper, in case she had nodded off by accident. (Is this an okay starter?)
.-=-.-=-.
Of course, Rico knew that his words weren't the whole truth. He knew that Phallon wasn't completely harmless if pushed to it, but he didn't want the Queen to have any hint that the girl possessed any kind of fighting chance. Only because he didn't want her getting hurt. He also noticed an odd change in Phallon’s emotions, but he tried to ignore it, because now was not the time to try and decipher what was different. Instead, as the Queen spoke again, the boy slowly nodded, shrugging. “She…is a good friend,” he said quietly. “She's not meant for war,” he added, his gaze not leaving the older woman's.
.-=-.-=-.
Lachy shrugged slightly. “Well, you might be surprised. There are some pretty nice places, just not really around where we were,” he said softly, scratching the back of his neck. “There's some nice little utopias in the city.”

(Oooh, I can't wait to see what you have in store. XD)
"You're right," Ruth said. "We brought this up on such a difficult time for you. We should have thought about it sooner. I'm sorry, the last thing we wanted was to upset you or add to your plate. I guess we should leave then before we over-stay our welcome."
(Right you are. It's probably petty stuff, but I don't take a lot of things well, regardless of their importance.)
Tori blushed a bit at his comment. I don't think the employees would appreciate a bunch of teens cuddling at the tables, she teased playfully. Although, she didn't really mind the thought of cuddling. After her near breakdown earlier, the only thing she wanted to do was cuddle up to him. Especially before they would be separating for the night.
(Oh, yes. He's going to be the most thoughtless person ever. XD)
~*
(Sometimes I'm too tired to care to fix them, haha. Or I've written it out three times already and don't want to bother to edit it again. XD Either way works. I pictured him wedging her between him and the couch, but it doesn't really matter. Whichever way will be more natural to Lach. ^^ And, yes, it was fine.)
Celia, in fact, hadn't nodded off. She was exhausted, yes, but there was no way her body was going to let her sleep. No matter how heavy her eye lids grew. What if someone busted in the door? What if there was someone already inside? What would she do to keep the two of them safe? She didn't know how long it had been before she heard Lach's voice again. Lifting her head from the cushion, she turned her tired gaze to him. "You're awake," she stated. "Are you hungry? I can make you something to eat if you want?"
~*
The Queen's lips twitched upward a bit at Rico's last statement. It was odd to see the boy showing a little backbone whenever he spoke to her. Possibly he was finally showing some of those Cat traits she was hoping for. "No one is ever built for war," she informed him. "But that doesn't stop it from happening."
~*
"And what would be so great of those places? The city was just one huge block of stone and noise. I can't see a place anyone would want stay willingly," Celia muttered.

(Russel stuff. Family stuff. Fun stuff)
Riley frowned, still unsure what to think. It certainly was big news and she understood why Mason was upset, but she hated to see his parents feeling bad. She set Russel down on the floor and began to clear the table since dinner seemed to be over. “Well, I think the twins and I would like some hugs before you guys leave,” she said finally, collecting her plate and Mason’s first. “And I’ll talk to Mason and see if I can work this our with him.”

Riley nodded. “We’ve been through a lot. This won’t get between us,” she promised, remembering the day they found out about Russel. That had been emotional, but it hadn’t changed their relationship.
Riley grabbed Dani from her chair and put her on the floor, continuing to move around the table and grab the dishes. She was still distracted by Mason as she began scraping the uneaten food into the garbage and saving what she could for leftovers. “Do you guys want to bring home the stuff you didn’t get a chance to eat?” she offered, already reaching for a second container.

Riley nodded, not really in the mood to make small talk with his parents while the three of them cleaned up. She glanced over at the bedroom occasionally, wanting to talk to Mason, but also wanting to give him some space. It wasn’t long before the uneaten food was packed up and the dirty dishes were by the sink. She’d do dishes tomorrow. Instead, she turned to his parents, giving them each a hug

"You're going to judge me so hard, but I like to go jogging at this hour," Dallas admitted with a sheepish chuckle. "I follow the road since the traffic has slowed. It's also the only time I can find to do it. It also helps me sleep, what with me worn out by the time I return home. Normally, nothing interesting ever happens."
~*
"So what shall we do now? We got time. Care to go put those paints to use?" Charles asked. "We can pack some food and go out to the meadow. It's been a while since we've been out there." "You are right," Alexa answered grinning teasingly, "I am going to judge you so hard, but at jogging along the road. Why not somewhere closer to your house like on some path or something? I understand the need to fall asleep though. I can't fall asleep a lot as well." --- Amelia grinned just thinking about going to the meadow even with how cold it was. "I like that idea. I think we should. Are you just going to sit there? Or I can actually try and teach you to paint if you want."

OOC:Text (Ah yeah. Well it's the small things that build up to be the biggest issues I think… Well I'm sorry to hear that…)
Maverick tilted his head slightly. Instead of responding immediately, the boy simply got up from his seat and went over to sit next to Tori, putting his arm around her shoulders. “I don't know, they might not mind it. It's a nice big booth anyway,” he said, smiling at his girlfriend and raising his eyebrow playfully.
.-=-.-=-.
(Lol I know that feeling too. It's just like eh, you can understand what I mean, I'll just…leave it. Also maybe if you don't want to lose your posts, use Google docs. It constantly saves. Ooh that would be adorable! Hmm, maybe like he brings her up to sit next to him, and then gets her to lie down next to him?)
Lachy sighed when he looked into Celia’s gaze. She looked exhausted, the poor girl. “No, I'm not hungry,” he said softly, only moving his gaze from her as he shook his head. Then, Lach bit his lip and slowly pulled himself into a sitting position with just a small groan. “Celia. You haven't closed your eyes for a second since we've been here, have you?” he asked, though it was rhetorical. The answer was clear on her face. She looked like she could sleep if her head just simply touched a pillow. While Lach was the injured one, he was certainly more than happy to keep watch if it meant she could actually get some rest. He tapped the spot on the couch just to her right of him quietly. “Come up here for a bit, the floor simply can't be comfortable.”
.-=-.-=-.
Rico noticed the small twitch in her lips, and felt something within the Queen's emotions change ever so slightly, but he didn't know what it was, and her mind seemed foggy to him anyway for some reason. He couldn't tell why the Queen went to smile. Was she amused hiding anger, glad to see him fall for some kind of trap? He had no idea. He just sighed. “Y-”you haven't been able to win the war with a whole army..” Rico said, trailing off. He didn't think he needed to finish. The Queen was smart enough to see that he just didn't what she could expect from Phallon for the war that a whole army can't accomplish.
.-=-.-=-.
“I can see why you think that. But there are some places. Maybe not as many as out here, but there are serene little spots that are nice to stay around,” he said softly, looking at Celia. He then clicked his teeth quietly, blinking. “I mean, for instance. There was one spot I especially liked. A little field in the outskirts of the inner city. It was small, only the size of, what, Toadsworth’s house? But it was pretty, a little green field in town, and in the corner there is a piano. Nearly every afternoon, a man will come and play the piano for about half an hour. It brings people together. I like going there to sit and relax.” When he was done, he looked to Celia curiously, wondering if she would kind of agree or not.

(Haha, yep! ^^ )
Ruth and Timothy both returned the hug she gave. "I'm so sorry we ruined dinner," Ruth apologized again. She felt horrible with the outcome of their news.
"We have trails around my house, but at night, I like to have a sure footed path," Dallas lied. "That way I don't have to worry about tripping over roots or rocks and falling off into a gully somewhere. If I fall and get hurt on the road, then there's a good chance someone will run across me sooner than had I been in the woods. And by that I mean find me, not actually running across me."
~*
"I suppose it wouldn't hurt if you tried to teach me. You may regret the use and waste of your paint in the process, but I wouldn't mind," Charles said with a grin.
(So I'm finding out. Thanks. I'm hoping that everything will just fix itself soon.)
Tori's blush spread over her face, but how could she argue? Mav being defiant, even in a teasing manner, was cute. She wouldn't lie. Rolling her eyes playfully, she laid her head on his shoulder. If they don't give us nachos because of this, I'm blaming you, she told him, although, she wasn't being serious. They weren't doing anything wrong. She herself just hadn't grown completely use to PDA yet. Holding hands, hugging, the occasional kiss or two, sure, fine. They did that plenty of times. But cuddling in a restaurant, even if it wasn't the fanciest place, still felt strange.
~*
(XD That was the perfect way to describe it. XD I've done that before, and I'll use Word too. Both are pretty good. Lol, he gets her to sit on the couch, then just wraps her in the blanket and squishes her into the cushions so she can't move. XD Like, "No, you're not moving until you sleep." )
"Not true," Celia replied to him. After all, she had to blink, and that was technically her eyes closing. If she went by that, than she had closed her eyes many times throughout their stay here. However, she knew better than to state that to Lach. He would have only fixed her with one of those irritated stares and moved forward with his points. She watched as he pushed himself up, standing to only stop him from moving. "You should be resting, not worrying about everything else," she told him, hesitating. It wouldn't be the first time they had shared a spot so close. Actually, in the passed two years, the girl had grown accustomed to Lach's presence by her. The reason for the pause now was simply because she wanted to stay ready to act if she needed.
~*
"Just as my sister hasn't been able to either. We're matched sword for sword. It's how it's always been," The Red Queen informed him. "Sometimes it's not a blade or fatal blow that changes the tide of war."
~*
She shouldn't have been surprised, what with growing up in a place like Underland. However, at the mention of the little field, she had to turn a skeptical eyes towards the boy. "You mean to tell me that anything plant-wise could live in such a foul place?" she asked.

(Ahhhh good luck. I don’t start till the end of January luckily)
Riley sighed as she watched them go. “Okay,” she said to herself. She called the kids into the living room and set up a movie for them on Netflix. They had to stay distracted for a while.
Once she was confident that the movie was using its child distracting powers, Riley moved to the bedroom and knocked, opening the door just a crack so her voice could be heard. “Mace? Can I come in?” she asked.

(Lucky, lol.)
While Riley had been smoothing things a little with his parents, Mason had been seething in the bedroom. It was hard for him to process this. All the years that he had forced himself into accepting the whole divorce, of telling his father that he was okay with living on their own. All the smiles and jokes cracked about it, while on the inside was the resentment for the decision made that broke their family apart. He couldn't sit still, so he paced the floor. Suddenly, the apartment felt constricting, smothering. The man had texted Finn, knowing the older man would be the best companion since he was suddenly in the mood for a drink. A good, strong, mind numbing drink.
At the knock on the door, followed by Riley's voice, Mason was just pulling on his shoes. He hadn't heard back from Finn yet, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to head out anyway. Standing up straight, he went and opened the door. "I'm heading out," he told her. He pressed a quick kiss to her forehead before walking past her to grab his keys.

Riley hadn’t been sure what to expect when Mason came and opened the door, and she didn’t say anything as he kissed her and then went to grab his keys. She frowned for a moment, remembering the nights that Finn had gone missing when something happened. He’d come home eventually, but usually beat up and looking as though he’d been drunk.
She didn’t wanted to make sure Mason didn’t do anything stupid. “Mason,” she said, reaching for his hand before he left the apartment. “Just... don’t do anything stupid while you’re out,” she said, glancing towards the twins. Mason didn’t have a history of being as stupid as Finn, but still. “You have kids now,” she reminded him. And another that would be coming soon. Sure, he was still allowed to have fun, but she just didn’t want him getting himself in trouble or hurt. “And I love you,” she added.
Meanwhile, Finn has texted him back, inviting him to the apartment he shared with Kate.

Mason had grabbed his keys and was pulling on a jacket when Riley took his hand. That seemed to break through the fog that settled over his mind. He glanced down at her, seeing the concern in her eyes. Sighing slightly, he turned and pulled her in for a hug. "Don't worry, Ri, I'm not going to do anything stupid," he promised, placing another kiss upon her hair. He would never take that risk, especially with the family they had created for themselves. "I just need some air." At that moment, his phone buzzed with a new text. Using one hand to retrieved the phone from his pocket, he read the message quickly. "I'm just going to Finn and Kate's. If you need me, I'll be right home, okay?"

Riley was glad to see that she was at least getting through to him a little. It wasn’t just for her own comfort that she wanted him to stay, but for their children. They couldn’t lose their father and Riley was just not in any shape to manage the kids and household on her own.
She nodded quietly and held her husband tightly as he hugged her. Part of her just worried he wouldn’t come home, especially when he said he was going to Finn’s. “If you drink... call me. Or spend the night. Please.” Her voice was hardly above a whisper. She couldn’t lose him at the fault of a drunk driver, just like she’d lost his brother. Sure, Russel hadn’t been drunk, but he’d been hit by one. Mason could die or kill someone else.

Riley nodded, still obviously worried about her husband. She glanced once more at the kids and nodded. “Love you too. Text me when you get there and before you come home,” she said. She wasn’t happy about this, but wasn’t going to make him stay. It had also been a while since she asked him to text her like that, but the memories of Russ were brought up and she was terrified about losing another man she loved.
(Don’t worry about it)
