(Haha yep. At first I only liked Sarge for comic relief, but then he started being a good leader/friend and stuff and yeah then I liked him. But in the first couple seasons I didn't.)
(The one character I'm not sure about is Felix: I'm very conflicted about him because he's a complete jerk in RvB but his voice actor also plays Jaune in RWBY and I really, really like Jaune.)

[ yeah, felix is a very conflicting character. on the one hand, he's a great character, very well written... but on the other hand he's a jerk and i hate him with a passion. but who doesn't like jaune? if somebody said they didn't like jaune i'd honestly think they were lying. ]

(Mhm Jaune is my fav. Maybe even more so than Roman)
(I like Felix as a villain but not as a person.)

[ felix is a really good villain, and to be honest i was shocked when it turned out he was a bad guy, so i mean? as a character i kind of admire the fact that he was able to manipulate them into thinking he was a good guy? but, yeah, as a person he's terrible.
jaune's written very well and i love his character progression and him in general. ruby's my personal favorite, but jaune's great. i think the show would be kinda boring at times without him ]

(Yep. Roosterteeth is good at writing characters. I don't think there's a single character that I don't like for one reason or another across both series.)

[ @madeofstarstuff ]
Akilah was used to the dark. Her cell was always dark, black, like tar and just as thick. But she was used to it. And even with the light from the ceiling and spilling in from the window, she could tell that even she herself was such a dark inky color that she blended in the dark. She didn't even know what she was, really; in the faint light of the window, if she was standing a certain way, she could barely just make out her reflection on the hard unbreakable glass. Chrome-colored sharp teeth, dark skin that was like liquid ink. She noticed that she had no visible eyes, but a visor of sorts, a bowed smooth head, the very end starting to flatten and take a three-point shape, like a crown. Her vision was sharp, keen, and she could see things in normal sight, but when it was completely dark, she could detect things very easily rather than be blind. Her 'night vision' was almost a deep purple, purple and black, the color replacing the atmosphere as the black colored in the shadows. So when it was dark, she didn't feel scared, as she's heard the other...things...in nearby cells, crying in the loneliness.
Loneliness. She was used to that, too. She had no cell mate, no one to communicate with -- communication was a standard difficulty for her anyways, because the Beings that came and went through the window, and ones who barged in her cell with sharp things and nets and poles and pinned her up against the wall, her against many, they didn't speak a language she understood nor returned. All she could do was growl, and hiss, and let out sharp sounds like cries. Not the emotional crying, because she couldn't produce tears. But animal-cries, because after all, wasn't she an animal in a cage?
Akilah thought this bitterly, a curl to her upper lip, a soft hiss of disgust and disapproval sounding through her sharp teeth. She didn't like being like this, no, not one bit. Every day, twice, in the early hour and right before the darkness came, she was brought (served by a synthetic, she knows the difference, she could taste the raw milky oil in them, the unappealing aroma that she breathed every time they stepped foot through the hidden door) a raw slab of meat. The source, unknown, but it was cut thick and served on a large tray. It was disgusting, dripping with blood. But, she knew in her system that this was right, this was her daily food source, that she was a carnivorous animal. Once she didn't have an audience (Being or Synthetic), she brought the meat up to her cocoon shelling in the top corner of the ceiling, using her Pharyngeal jaws inside her mouth to feed. It was an experience she grew accustomed to, something she was trained since she was hatched in this very room. It was crude, and yet it awakened some internal predatory system, and her elongated fingers and claws would tighten around the meat protectively, and she would feed with such a hunter's hunger than afterwards, when she noticed her audience of Beings in the window, it would make her hide in her cocoon shelling.
She hated this, honestly. She hated the non-nice Beings and the discipline and the electric shocks if she isn't awake on time and just everything. She hated this. One time she hissed and snarled at one Being that came in, and they shot her with something that made her cry out loud and spasm with electricity as they took a blood sample of her acidic blood, filling it with a special tube so it wouldn't corrode.
Akilah hated everything about this place. Except for Him.
She didn't know his name, but she recognized him every time he was around, just like now.
When the light in the window flickered on, her attention went to it as he came up to the glass. Her whole demeanor changed when He was around. He was nice. He was a good Being. She didn't like the needles or anything, but he was better than the others, the mean ones.
Shifting from her cocoon shelling in the ceiling, dropping to a crouch onto the floor, she stepped into the pool of lighting from the window, standing face to face with Him. She wasn't sure if her floor was the same level as his, but she was just barely taller than Him. She didn't need to hear him with the loud humming machine they used to speak to her (most Beings do it to taunt her, talk weird and disturbing things to her, or play super loud things over the speakers, making her cringe). She had heightened senses, like taste and hearing and sight, et cetera. So she could hear him just fine through the thick glass. To show her approval of His presence, she let out a soft noise, unlike her usual sounds; this was like a humming noise, one she practiced when she tried words on her free time in the dark. She hummed to Him, keeping her sharp liquid-chrome-like teeth out of view, and she extended her hand -- almost similar to His, but skinnier, with three long fingers, with chrome-like sharp claws from her black skin -- and laid it over the thick glass where he'd put his.
Once the surprise filtered away, Karim smiled softly at the response β her hand (claws? paw? he didn't know the precise name, but it was basically a hand) laid directly over his, the soft quiet noise that she'd made, sounding almost sweet and song-like. He tried copying her, to try and show that he sort of understood what she meant β she was happier, if he was guessing right. Not happy, per say, but happier. The sound wasn't quite right, he couldn't get the humming perfect, but if she understood what he meant... then maybe it would make her a little bit happy. Honestly, Akilah was quite terrifying. He was scared of her, though the fear had lessened. Her claws, teeth, tail, mouth... they would've scared anyone, not just him. She did scare the other scientists β maybe that was why they hated her even more. Nobody liked anything that they were afraid of. But... while her appearance was terrifying, that was only her appearance. Yes, she could've easily killed one of them were she out of her cage. But would she? Perhaps in self defense. Anyone would've killed in self defense β even he would've, were it the only way for him to make it out alive. He wished that, at the least, they'd treat her better. Give her a larger cage (because she'd grow too big for this one), feed her better food, not taunt her with words she didn't understand but likely caught the meaning of. It was sick, that they'd treat her like an animal. Yes, she was terrifying. Yes, she couldn't truly understand their language (but he wouldn't be surprised if she managed to speak, eventually.) But if she made one wrong move, protested in any way, shape, or form... then they'd treat her even worse. βThis is inhumane! We shouldn't be treating it like this,β one of the other scientists had said, and then disappeared a day later. They couldn't speak out ,and most of them had grown to despise her. Despise her for what her race had done in the past (or what they assumed her race had done.) Despise her for her very existence. Despise her for the fact that they could do whatever they wanted to her and it wouldn't matter because she was stuck behind thick glass with no way out. In the past, Karim had wondered what he could possibly do to get her out of there. Her very blood was practically acid β if he had to, he could break open one of the vials and use that to burn down the glass. He could get his hands on a gun and get her to safely. Even if it meant he might die, or get thrown in jail, or tortured for her whereabouts. If he could do anything to help her escape, he would. But that was the problem: there was nothing he could do. Even if he managed to get her out of there, where would he take her? Where could they go? Even if they could escape, it wasn't like she'd blend in. Maybe far, far away, in the outer reaches of the galaxy, she could blend in somehow. She didn't look at all human β unless, somehow, there was a way she could. But they hadn't been able to find anything, any disguise mechanisms, nothing. So, even if they managed to leave, even if he somehow managed to get her out of there, the most he could do would be to pray that they could survive long enough for him to get her back to her people, where she would be safe. Akilah deserved that much. No, she deserved more. Though it pained him to even think of it, she deserved vengeance for what they'd done to her. He almost shook his head to physically clear the thoughts, but it wouldn't help. He kept his hand on the glass, smiling at her. He could almost picture her as a human child β she was so young, so inexperienced... but she'd gone through so much already. So much pain and torture and β and there was so little he could do. βNo matter what, I'll do what I can to keep you as safe as possible,β he said to her now, keeping his voice low so she could somewhat hear his words but so nobody else could possibly pick up on it. βI promise you, I'll make sure you're safe.β

Well there is some plot stuff in the first season. Might want to watch it so a couple of things aren't confusing. I personally like it, but it was also before Season 8 even started.))
