So does anybody know that one scene where Jayfeather goes to starclan with Yellowfang on their stay there. Jay notices that some cats are transperent almost to the brink of disappearing. Yellowfang then explains that cats pretty much disappear after they stay in starclan for a long time. (forgot what book were this scene is.) TLDR The clans afterlife is not eternal.
But the prologue in Long Shadows the first clan leaders Shadow, River, Wind,Thunder are still in starclan. Clear sky is not their for some reason. So, They should be long gone because they are the first ever cats in starclan. This rises a lot of questions. Are their afterlife eternal because they are the first leaders granting them god staus? What about the cats that they were close too, did they disappear? Gray Wing, Turtle Tail, Star Flower? or probably another plot hole by the Erins :/

1st off. Clear Sky is no longer in StarClan. He and the other SkyClan ancestors moved along with SkyClan to the gorge after they got their butts handed to them.
I found this on the wiki:
Kate will let fans chose what happens to StarClan cats after they fade away: disappear in oblivion or become part of a second StarClan and so on. She also approves with the idea that they "retreat to a remote place and no longer visit dreams once they’re forgotten." However, Vicky states that StarClan cats are gone forever after they fade.
However at this point Vickys statement would contradict itself since yes, we did see the 4 leaders appear again. I believe that faded cats don't actually fade, they just sort of retire and stop giving a crap about what happens in the clans. But since the plot required it in the Omen of the trash stars. The four leaders returned because the existence of StarClan itself was threatened.
During this time, Clear Sky was probably just jacking off in the skies of SkyClan gorge. At this point whatever the hell happens to the 4 clans certainly won't affect SkyClan.

In that scene (if I remember right) Yellowfang makes it seem like it's a pain to be stuck in Starclan and that it's good to fade. I guess the leaders don't get to earn their peace because they still have a duty to guide their clan through what's happening since they started it all. Maybe it's that they have to tie up all their loose ends after they die or watch them tie up before they are allowed to fade?
It also is never mentioned how Starclan cats can materialize in the real world OR how they are in the real world but are invisible and not in the stars (Goosefeather's curse).

mEmE "they just sort of retire and stop giving a crap about what happens in the clans" They were pretty mad at Midnight for telling Sol all she knew making the clans think he was some cat version of Nostradamus. Sol almost destroyed their way of life in the process. So yeah they were mad about that because their "Legacy" was being threatened. Also forget to mention that Moth Flight was also in the prologue in Tallstar's Revenge to give Heatherstar a warning. Other than that I mostly agree with your post. I guess the Erins rushed OOTS that they don't care they contradicted themselves in the process.
