Fernsong's pelt was prickling. "Traveling herbs are the worst!" He stuck out his tongue.
Ivypool purred and nudged him toward the entrance. "Hopefully they'll give you enough strength to protect us. That is why you're coming, isn't it?" There was a tease in her mew.
Fernsong looked at her, whiskers twitching. "I was hoping you'd protect me."
"If you're nice to me, I might." Ivypool purred.
I find it funny that Fernsong relies on the older she-cat to protect him.

I really can't get over it, I know it's a small line scene, but lol it's super cute. I kinda want to really see more of it too. Like how often to we see older she-cats and younger-toms have this type of comfortable, playful and flirty relationship, haha. I can't wait to see them as parents, then when Ivy is deputy and leader. Just imagine how proud Fern will be, always rambling about his awesome gf, lel.

Doubt it, since the Erins have been hinting that Fern is a "Stay at home" dad type, and that Ivy will be trying to balance her queen and warrior duties at the same time. |
