*Spoilers for warrior names in TAS*
Scorchfur is Snowbird's mate, first of all. He is the confirmed father of Beenose, Rippletail(ShadowClan), Berryheart, Cloverfoot, and Yarrowleaf. But, Snowbird was mentioned to be pregnant in Outcast, when she takes care of Tigerheart, Flametail and Dawnpelt while Tawnypelt goes to the mountains. Back then, Scorchfur was only an apprentice. So, either these two things have happened:
1: Scorchfur fathered kits when he was an apprentice, maybe even a kit.
2: Snowbird switched mates during the course of the series.
What do you guys think?

I doubt he fathered kits that young.
And if he did, just another gross plot holeish thing from the forgetful Erins.
Like Patchpelt and Willowpelt, brother and sister, being Graystripe's parents.

I agree. I bet that the Erins just needed our important character of Needletail to have a family. They saw that Snowbird had some kits, so they made her the child of one of those kits. They noticed that Snowbird didn't have a mate, thus Needletail didn't have a grandfather, so they randomly picked Scorchfur from the pile of mateless toms in ShadowClan. |

I think she had a different mate- and it was Toadfoot. Smokefoot, Snaketail, and Toadfoot were all alive during the time Snowbird had her first litter- but Smokefoot and Snaketail were elders in Bramblestar's Storm, when Snowbird went to the nursery expecting her second litter- which were confirmed to be fathered by Scorchfur. Unless Snowfur had broken up with one of them by then- and it's possible, since Willowpelt had kits with Whitestorm after her first mate Patchpelt had retired.
Sure, it's a little different because by the time Willowpelt had her third litter Patchpelt was dead, but still, the possibility of Snowbird's first mate being either Smokefoot or Snaketail is still there.
More likely though is that her mate was Toadfoot, who was mentioned to have died during the battle with the dark forest. It would still be kinda rushed- switching from her recently deceased mate to Scorchfur within a few months for the whole thing to make sense- but more likely than her previous mate being an elder who was still alive when she had her second litter.

While you do have a viable theory, I always headcanoned Toadfoot and Ivytail as mates with their kits being Spikefur and Grassheart with the timeline supporting my headcanon. |
