omgggggg i love fashion
what i'm learning currently is how to examine the quality of an article of clothing before leaving the store. so far i'm learning to check: - the stitches. making sure there aren't loose threads and that the seams are nice and snug with a high stitch per inch count. making sure the stitches are complete, with extra top stitching and secured buttons, and that the stitches are in a neat line instead of weird and wavy. - the materials. making sure the clothes are mostly (if not all) natural fibers like cotton, wool, cashmere, silk, etc. and that the buttons are wood/metal/pearl and the zippers are metal instead of plastic. also that the fabric is thick, so that you don't see your hand or a lot of light through it. checking for spare buttons. - the lining. seeing if it has lining and making sure that lining isn't polyester. - the facing. seeing if the facing is thick and made with the same material as the rest of the clothing. - the fabric. making sure the patterns line up, making sure the pattern isn't blurry or bleeding, etc. making sure the fabric isn't pilling or fuzzing.
i lowkey wanna get into sewing bc it is so hard to find fabrics that meet the bar for long lasting in my eyes.

I love thrifting for vintage clothes because a lot of the fabric is really good quality.

I’m really into the quiet luxury/old money aesthetic. Definitely will redo my wardrobe sometime lol.
