I've been playing Warriors catch up and I am not half way through dawn of the clans. Its interesting that Clear Sky is the origin of the clans military culture. Its even more amazing that it developed not out of normal misunderstandings and squabbles but actually from the fact Clear Sky is a functioning idiot. He also appears to be the reason democracy dropped out of fashion with the cats. Tragic.
The romance in this arc has a desperate need for rehash. Clear Sky and Bright Stream love each other whilst Gray Wing is left on the side and Turtle Tail is left ultra on the side. Bright Stream gets pregnant. Bright Stream gets carried away by eagle. Clear Sky and Gray Wing are sad. Gray Wing raises his younger brother. Then they meet Tsundere Bright Stream. Tsundere Bright Stream and Clear Sky fall in love and have kits. Gray Wing loves Tsundere Bright Stream and is left on the side. Turtle Tail has enough of being left on the side and goes away. Tsundere Bright Stream leaves the toms and has her kits. Then she is killed via twoleg monster. Gray Wing raises her lone surviving kit. Turtle Tail returns pregnant. Gray Wing finally gets the hint that hes been neglecting her and raises her kits. Then Turtle tail dies via twoleg monster.
Gray Wing is literally everyone's dad. He's practically Dustpelt at this point.
Also I'm surprised that Kate was gutsy enough to throw in a subtle..... implication that I may get in trouble for mentioning here in regards to Turtle Tail. She also negated Cherith's canon in the process. Amazing.
Things are clearly different in this world than in the modern day clans but I am amused by the fact that some things have not changed. Namely being that Starclan are still generally unhelpful. They come to say "unite or die" which is standard Starclan vaguness. Tsundere bright stream also tries to talk sense into Clear Sky. She over estimates his intelligence, not realizing she needs to tell him flat out that he is a parasite to the forest cats and not vaguely say "its all you tribe cats fault this happened". She knows they didn't all cause this. This is a norm with Starclan. Shaded Moss scolds Tall Shadow for not being analytical when she clearly is. What a jerk. And then there is the tribe. Its nice to know the leadership there was as bad then as it is now. Half Moon sure set a precedent, She had an omen about a better place and sent half the tribe thinking a smaller population will do the tribe good, whilst completely forgetting biology and math. I'd explain but we already know the outcome was not what Half Moon imagined. Fool.
