Actually being noticed in the rp’s I’m part of. Whether they went quiet or not, I appreciate everyone willing to give me and my characters a chance. Most of my past experience with rp’s wasn’t like that.

I’m grateful the two orphaned kittens I found survived. My neighbor’s dog found them somewhere outside. They were about two weeks old, barely had their eyes open. I already had some cats, so my neighbors asked if we could do anything. I never bottle fed kittens before, and I was nervous about their chances of survival, but in the end everything was okay. They were strong and healthy from the start. They are about seven or eight months now. They’re so sweet and beautiful. I love them so much.

There’s a lot I’m grateful for, but today I’m going to say fiction. Getting immersed in a good book, show, or any other form of media can really do wonders to take your mind off things. It will sound cheesy but Warrior Cats is one of those fictional franchises that I am very grateful for. It’s probably the sheer amount of content it has, but having something new and tons of characters with unused potential to think about has really helped calm me down in stressful times and let me focus my mind on something that brings me happiness. Sometimes it’s been just the next stretch of time to get through until I find out what happens to Frostpaw or something that has motivated me to not give up. Especially in uncertain times, where I can worry about things from how much sleep I’ll be able to get tonight to national policies, sometimes it’s nice to delve into another world. Creativity of any degree of quality brings me hope, and I’m really grateful that it’s there.

My cats, they’ve done so much for me even though I’m sure they don’t have the brain capacity to realize it, I love them sm.
Also, a family that supports me and what I do. I’m sure they get annoyed by all the dead bugs I bring in the house, but I’ve never felt like I couldn’t be myself in my house, which I’m very grateful for.

Okay guys here’s a list that i may edit throughout the month
-Grateful for my supportive family -Grateful for my dog who literally is my best friend, couldn’t survive without him. How it is that he understand me more then anyone else yet can’t talk or actually process what i’m saying other then a few words, idk, but that’s just how it is and i love him so much. -Grateful for food, shelter, electricity, etc. -Grateful for my good grades -Grateful for my few friends who actually care about me -Grateful for warrior cats, i know it’s silly but this fandom and books have brought me through so much -Grateful for writing, reading, and literature in general -Grateful for my cheer coaches who have taught me so much -Grateful for spotify -Thankful for my one irl best friend who actually cares about me
woah that was kinda long. that’s it for now tho lol

One thing I have come to realize in recent years is how lucky I am to live in country where although corupt politicians are in power, I can express my outlook on politics and life in general without being suppressed or forced to adapt a subjective point-of-view. Not everyone in the world has that right guaranteed and many face persecution for their opposing views. I am grateful for democracy and freedom.

My teachers. I appreciate them more especially in this political climate. They get paid terrible wages for the crap they have to endure. Too many people take what they do for granted. But if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. I might be a little biased because my dad was a teacher. I honestly wonder if it was the stress of being public school teacher in a community that loves to attack public education, being union president on top of that, and trying to figure out everything for the pandemic is what killed him. He was always busy. It’s like he never stop being a teacher whenever I saw him.
You frequently hear about terrible teachers on social media. Then how teachers need to stop asking for raises or whatever because they think teachers are greedy people trying to steal their tax dollars. I wish more people could hear about the good things teachers do so more people would realize how essential and worth it they are, not to mention how difficult their job is.

I wish more people could hear about the good things teachers do so more people would realize how essential and worth it they are, not to mention how difficult their job is. I can resonate with this so much, as both my parents are teachers. Last time they went on strike, many people, including fellow teachers, saw them as greedy and pathetic because it didn't solve much of the problems in the educational system. All they did was demand better conditions for themselves and their students, and to be treated with dignity... I am also greatful for my teachers, both the good ones who seemed to give part of themselves for us, and the worse ones too (the majority of them, unfortunatly...) because they made me realize there are all kinds of people out there and determined me to cherish the good persons I find along the way.

silverstarpenguin I respect your parent’s decision. Standing up for yourself with the risk of being antagonized at your job or risking losing your job isn’t easy. My dad actually got fired himself because the people running the school couldn’t stand that about him (even then they still couldn’t get him out of their hair because he fought it, yay unions). We have school tax levies that we vote on by election where I live. Usually it doesn’t pass but this year it did. Now I see 70 year old crotchety men complaining about it here because they won’t be able to replace a window on their house this year or whatever. I guess it just makes me mad that they think that is more important than teachers and maintaining a good school system. :/ Good education that everyone can access more important now than ever.

I think it's important for people to protest and stand up for themselves, despite the outcome. My father had to wait another year for his salary increase because of those couple of days he went on strike... I'm glad to hear that the vote for school tax levies in your community passed, it means there still are people out there interested in the benefits of education. If it were happening in my country, I doubt it would pass in the county where I live...

I’m grateful the storm wasn’t as bad as projected (at least in my neighborhood) and I’m grateful we didn’t lose power.
