Ohohoho the book's starting off strong so far. I'm still (delusionally) hoping that Nightheart and Sunbeam go their separate ways by the end though. Don't think their relationship is written well. Also does Frostdawn end up becoming a warrior like she was supposed to, or stay as a medcat? Really rooting for the former myself, I'm tired of characters being shoved into the medcat role and just permanently staying there. |

Sunbeam is better than I am, I would have walloped Berrynose with no regrets there if I found out she'd betrayed me. They have to keep her alive for the plot I suppose.

I feel bad for Sunbeam thinking her mom turned again Splashtail, when we already know that isn't true. She strolls into camp here alongside Sunbeam's father and brother. I hope Blazefire and Cloverfoot will be okay.
What?! Splashtail threatened his own mother and younger siblings born last book?! The definition of antagonistic offspring. And where's Puddleshine?! Also, poor Lizardtail. Chapter 5: Fish-licker and webfoot? There was a cat named Webfoot introduced in in WC in the first arc. I guess this is now an insult.
Phew, Blazefire. I was so worried there for a second. And we know Tawnypelt is living no matter what happens, given the blurb for next arc.
ShC lost, but at least Shadowsight managed to convince Splashtail to let him give the injured treatment. Chapter 6: At least Frostpaw made it to WC camp. Now all we have to do is wait. |

Owlnose being deputy isn't really that much of a surprise considering how he was on that recent article about how RC needs a leader. Also, Icewing is now leader. And Frostdawn is so pretty. It also makes sense considering she gets her full name at the beginning of a new dawn for RC. I wonder what Whistlepaw's name is.
Also (probably unintentional) foreshadowing by Kate. "The colour of a chilly leaf-bare dawn" is what Kate described Frostpaw's soul as. |

Mistslime and Graysludge?! Those are terrible names. They remind me too much of Lostface. Bring back the name changing ceremonies! Also, kit-stealing is back! That fluffy white kit is most likely Duskkit, since he's the only white kit in SkC. Also, Fognose and Sneezecloud are doing it. Splashtail's sister and father. Podlight being a huge supporter of Splashtail is not surprising in the slightest. But also, Breezeheart (Icewing's daughter) and Brackenpelt (Owlnose's sister). I feel so bad for Havenpelt. And Mosspelt is here! It's always a treat to see her. |

Kit stealing returning, it's been a while, last time was DotC.
And the horrible warrior names, yikes, it is entertaining though.
