Silverstorm | Camp | Clan meeting
Silverstorm hurried over to the gathered cats and sat down. He could guess what this meeting was about. If he wasn't awfully mistaken today was the day when three kits would get promoted from loveable nuisances to eager-to-prove-themselves apprentices. He smiled at that, remembering his own first day as an apprentice. It had been one of the most exciting days of his life and he guessed the three kits felt the same about their own apprentice ceremony.
Sablefur and Wolfkit | Camp | Clan meeting
Wolfkit made his way over to the others but stopped a few tail-lengths away from them as kits usually didn't really attend such meetings. And since he wasn't old enough to become an apprentice yet he had no real reason to be there. He still wanted to watch his denmates' apprentice ceremony though. Next to him Sablefur sat down and wrapped her tail around him. "Sit still and don't bother the others, alright?" she meowed with a gentle smile. Wolfkit nodded. He knew how to behave. As he watched he couldn't help but wonder about Hollystar. He looked up at his mother and whispered "She doesn't look to good." Sablefur quietly shushed him but she shared his concern. Hopefully this meeting wouldn't take too long. Hollystar really didn't look like she should be doing anything except seeing Frostburr and getting some rest.

Hollystar finally saw that most of the clan had gathered and she continued on, her body weak. "We are gathered to announce three new apprentices- Sunkit, Smokekit, and Thistlekit. Please step forward!" she yelled. There was a pause as the three kits approached, looking giddy, bouncing on their paws and their bodies trembling. "Sunkit, from now until you earn your warrior name, you will be Sunpaw. Your mentor will be Ripplefur - a good and loyal warrior. Smokekit, you will be known as Smokepaw and your mentor will be Spiderstrike! Thistlekit, you will be known as Thistlepaw and your mentor will be Nightfall." she paused while the clan erupted into cheers for the new apprentices and they went to meet their new mentors. While they cheered, she erupted into coughs and her body was convulsing with each one. After she had finally managed to clear her system, she turned back up to the gathered cats and rested her gaze on Ripplefur. "ShellClan needs a deputy," she called, her voice ragged but loud. "I have waited too long, but I don't have much longer as your leader. We need a strong, loyal, and brave warrior to take over when I move on to StarClan. Ripplefur," she beckoned the young cat forward. "Will you pledge to protect and lead your clan with your life and be the deputy of ShellClan?"

Ripplefur | Camp | Clan meetingRipplefur stepped forward to meet Sunpaw. She looked at him sternly with narrowed eyes but quickly dropped the act and gave him an encouraging smile. "I hope you're ready because I won't make it easy for you," she told him with a slight grin. "I intend to turn you into one of the clan's best warriors." Before she could say more her attention was briefly drawn by Hollystar's coughing, almost not hearing it above the clan's cheers.
When the clan had quieted down from cheering for the new apprentices Ripplefur turned to Sunpaw again but out of the corner of her eye she could see Hollystar looking at her. Or was she looking at someone else? No, the leader's gaze seemed to rest on Ripplefur. Before she could really wonder about what that meant Hollystar spoke again. Ripplefur blinked in surprise at the words. Had she heard that right? The leader's gaze on her left no doubt. Quickly composing herself Ripplefur stepped forward and looked up at Hollystar. "I will," she meowed firmly, any traces of surprise or nervousness gone from her voice. She turned to speak to both Hollystar and the rest of the clan. "I have vowed to defend and provide for my clan as a warrior and I'll be honored to now give everything I have to serve ShellClan as deputy!"

Sunpaw snorted but his eyes were alight with excitement. “You have an easy job then - I already plan on being the greatest warrior all the clans have ever seen.” He said, holding his head eye. He turned to focus on Hollystar again and satisfaction twinged in his chest. His mentor was deputy - that was amazing! That meant he already had a way to forward in the clan. Being the apprentice of the deputy was a great honor and perhaps Ripplefur would choose him as deputy when she became leader. If Hollystar made it long enough for him to be a warrior. He prayed quietly to StarClan that Hollystar would wait to lose her last life until he was ready to be deputy. Then he approached Ripplefur amongst the cheering. “This is great!” He announced excitedly to her. |

Then, more serious and in a lower tone only for Sunpaw to hear, she said "You know this also means there will be even higher expectations for you now. But since you already intend to become the greatest warrior I won't have to worry about you slacking off. I've seen you learning some moves from the other apprentices sometimes and practising them. More than most other kits would. You're already ahead of your littermates and if we use this little head-start well you should also be able to learn the more advanced moves before them."
(Is the meeting over or does Hollystar have something more to say? Anyway, once the meeting is over I'll have Ripplestar pick two cats to lead one patrol each. Any cat free for it? She probably wants to avoid sending someone who also just got an apprentice right now, and Slicksong and Shoalpaw were about to head out for training. Out of my cats Silverstorm would be free to lead or join a patrol)

We just got out of a clan meeting tho. add soon sorry I haven’t been on my laptop that much and i dontnlike fussing with the coding on my phone lol.) |

(Brokenfeather can lead a patrol. Or Fallowtail - she has an apprentice but not a brand new one (brightpaw), and yeah the meetings over) Sunpaw gave a determined nod. “I can handle the expectations. My training is the most important thing to me now.” His eyes were fierce and proud. He smiled at her compliments, knowing he was surely going to impress her with his knowledge already. |
