To Kill a Star - Remake (1 spot left)

Hi, I’m remaking this really cool murder mystery roleplay I had a couple of years ago.

I’m gonna use this as my planning page and a place people can claim spots in advance?

It’s gonna be a small group rp, only open to 6 members (not counting me) with a spot for the past mystery and the present day one, we’ll alternate between the 1920s plot and the 2020s plot as we go

I’ll be roleplaying the murder victims and the private detective investigating (the only non suspect) while I’ll leave it up to everyone who joins to roleplay the suspects of both plots. Only I and the killer will know who is the actual murderer

1920s Murder Mystery
Meet Florence “Flo” Carter, bubbly and friendly showgirl dancer at the Starless Sapphire, known for being a bit of a flirt, she appears harmless and uses this to her advantage, making her the go to person for gossip, she seems to be living a peaceful life but has her own skeletons in her closet, she moved to the city after a big fight with her family and her nosy behavior has led to her eavesdropping on her neighbors, she’s currently dating a well known mob boss, however there’s a rumor going around that she’s actually in love with one of the bartenders at the club, she’s an excellent dancer and has talent scouts eyeing her, this has caused somewhat of a rift between Flo and the other showgirls, not to mention the tension she’s caused between the Starless Sapphire and the Rosy Roulette.

2020s Murder Mystery
Meet Wiley Tanner, a mystery podcast host with far too much time on his hands and a knack for uncovering truths people would rather keep hidden. He's recently been getting into petty arguments with his landlord, and though he's been threatened with eviction a couple of times, Wiley seems confident that that would never happen. He's currently been poking his nose into the business of the local wealthy family and their supposed ties to the mob boss from one hundred years ago, much to the disdain of the family in question. He's also made some enemies within the local police force after solving a case during his podcast that one of the top detectives was trying to solve. Things get worse for Wiley when his estranged family member shows up in town to reconnect, however Wiley is strongly against that idea and keeps avoiding them. A fan of his podcast recently came to him asking to help him with it and came to the unhappy conclusion that's its best to never meet your heroes, and when his ex comes back to town after months of being away, demanding that he give up their old shared cat, Wiley refuses, determined to keep the cat himself.
