TRIBE OF THE RISING SUN The bright and swift
I’ve been wanting to make my own role play clan for a while, and I thought, why not do a tribe? This might not become an actual rp if I lose interest, but i just want to be able to work on it here. This is a fan tribe, called the Tribe of Rising Sun. It borders another tribe, called the Tribe of Setting Moon, a pine forest to the east of the deserts territory. They collide at borders and such, but with healers that are close, there are no wars (currently). Tribe of Setting Moon will be NPC’d at the start, but I might make it into a thread at some point, or have someone help me run it. ^^ I’m not the best at code, so this will most likely take a while and I’m still working on the story. They live in a desert, and the tribe cats are bigger than your average clan cats, being more like mountain lion-ish, but the desert cats are agile and short haired. Unlike their neighboring tribe of setting moon who are long haired and generally stronger, known for their sneakiness. I’ll start working on the posts here, and once I’ve saved a few posts, feel free to post your interest and some small ideas, as I’ve been working on this for a while and most of the tribe info has already been made. I have also added new roles, to keep it nice and new! :3 I: Maybe a banner?, welcome, rules, links finished

TRIBE OF RISING SUN THE BRIGHT AND AGILE
Welcome Welcome to the Tribe of Rising Sun! This is a pretty fast and active rp, including moon skips if needed to keep the rp going. They are a tribe of cats that live in a large desert, surrounded by the sandy abyss they call home. Far on the border is the Tribe of Setting Moon, a pine forest of shadow-hearted, sneaky cats that meets with the desert cats every moon at the full moon gathering. Tribe of Rising Sun see themselves as agile, and swift as the breeze, able to catch many of the prey they find on their territory. They struggle with snakes and also finding water in the warmer seasons. However, they treat each other as good friends and family, with close bonds. To contrast this, they are not as open to outsiders as the Tribe of Setting Moon is, often not allowing them into the tribe.
Rules i. Follow all forum rules, thank you!
ii. please keep your characters realistic. No unnatural pelt colors or eye colors or wings and no perfect characters! No cat is perfect, everyone has their flaws. ^^ iii. Because this roleplay is pretty fast and active, I will expect at least 2-3 posts per week. However, if there is anything that is stopping that or (I get it, we don’t live on the forums,) you are busy, just tell me and I will most likely understand, If you are inactive for 2 months without telling me, I will remove you from the rp and your cats will be put up for claim. Of course, if you come back, feel free to rejoin the roleplay if you are ready to be active. iv. When first joining, only make 3-4 cats to make sure everyone can join in and have some fun! Try to be balanced with genders, and if you want to be a kit, make sure you plan someone else’s character to be the mother or create a queen. No motherless kits, unless it’s an important plot point in the rp. In the future, I might change how many cats everyone is allowed. Include your favourite canon series cat at the bottom of your joining form. v. no god-modding or controlling other people’s cats. It just ruins the fun. vi. feel free to suggest plots in the discussion page! I love new plots and we can all be open about new and fun ideas to write about! vii. Be nice and kind to everyone. We are all here to have fun and write new and interesting stories, so make sure to include everybody! ^_^ viii. This roleplay is semi-literate. This means I expect at least a paragraph per post. If you can write more, that’s great! It gives us all something to work with. Directory i. Post 1 - Welcome, rules, directory, sub-pages. (your here,) ii. Post 2 - Cats description, personality, abilities, seasons iii. Post 3 - prey, predators, herbs, illnesses
iv. Post 4 - Territory, tribe past, terminology, camp v. Post 5 - Sunteller, Healers, Desert-Runners, Wind-Jumpers, Stone-Claws vi. Post 6 - To-Bes, Kit-Mothers, Kits, Elders, Renegades, Tribe of Endless Stars vii. Post 7 - Relationships, Mentors, Members viii. Cats Description
Cats of the tribe usually have sand colored, ginger or dust colored pelts. Black pelts are near-impossible and are prone to over heating or being snatched by a hawk, so most don’t make it to a To-Be. White pelts are also incredibly rare, as these cats are easily seen by predators, but don’t have to worry about overheating. Brown pelts aren’t as rare and are usually fine, although ginger, dust and sand is better.
These cats almost always have short fur to help them survive the deadly heat and their eyes can be any color, but hazel and gold being the most common. Personality
Tribe cats are known for being resilient and resourceful. Although they can get by with less water than the average cat, they will drink whenever possible, as they don’t know when they can next. This same attitude applies to hunting, and they will go out of their way to catch prey. Tribe cats don’t get tired easily, and they are known for being clever. They are swift in their hunting, and agile in the warm desert sands. Abilities
The Tribe relies on a wide range of abilities to survive in the desert, and they divide it into three main ones. The Desert-Runners, who have wider paws and can run very fast, allowing them to chase down roadrunners and jackrabbits. The Wind-Jumpers have strong back legs and are great at leaping and pouncing, allowing them to snag lizards and frogs. The final ability is that of the Stone-Claws, known for their much sharper claws. This allows them to excel at protecting the Tribe. The Kits go through a Skill-test when they are 5 moons, in which the Sunteller will decide their rank based on their speed, jumping skills, and size of claws. Seasons i. New-sands - The prey is well stocked, but the temperature starts to rise again. This is the most common season for rain. (Newleaf) ii. Warm-sands - Prey is in abundance. The desert is scorching hot, and most cats with even the slightest longer pelt suffer to the warm weather. (Greenleaf) iii. Cool-sands - Temperature starts to drop, prey starts to disappear. The desert gets cooler at nights, causing some short haired cats to feel colder. (Leaf-fall) iv. Storm-sands - Most cats hate this season. Kit-Mothers try their best not to kit at this time, as some can be seen as cursed. The prey is hidden most of the time, the desert is dark early, and there is a number of storms that affect the tribe. There has been rumors that a strike of lightning has killed cats in the past. (Leafbare)

I love the code, I think it fits so great ^-^
What exactly do you mean about the Healer's name? Like being Teller of the Shining Sun? Are you thinking of something else?
Oh btw! Would you be cool with cats having like a full name? for example; the full name would be Puma Prowling on Ridge but we would just call them Puma Prowl?

Tribe Past Sunny, Night and Breeze lived in a twolegplace alley on the far side of the desert oasis, with their group of cats. This included Dusty, Freckle, Henry and Sami. The cats spent most of their time stealing food from the twolegs to survive their alley, helping each other and caring for eachother. However, Freckle came back one day with a tom named Gust. Freckle had saved Gust from a coyote, but in the process, Gust’s sister had disappeared. The group went to the desert to find her, and ended up on the oasis. Breeze found Gust’s sister, Amy. She stated that a kind old cat had taken care of her and told her interesting stories.
Sunny, Night and Breeze met the old tom, with the name of Eagle Swooping over Mountains from a group of cats called the Tribe of Rushing water. He was taken away by twoleg explorers, and was taken to the desert with the twolegs. He had fled from them behind their backs. Eagle told the group about tribe life, and Sunny and Breeze suggested starting their own tribe. Night, the black furred tom argued with them. He hated the desert, and suggested they made tribe life in the vivid rainforest on the other side of the oasis. It caused a rift between the group, and eventually Night left with Sami and Dusty to the forest, to create their own tribe. The remaining cats took longer names under Eagle’s guidance, and they chose Sunny as leader when Breeze refused. They had different talents than the tribe of rushing water and Eagle, Breeze and Sunny worked together to make a working culture for their tribe. When Sunny had Breeze’s kits, she realised something. Jackrabbit had inherited her speed, Wind had her leaping ability, and Stone had Breeze’s long, razor-sharp claws. They soon created the Desert-Runners, the Wind-Jumpers and the Stone-Claws after her kits abilities.
This left one position, Sun’s. She didn’t prefer the term ‘The leader,” and they had nothing until the old tom Eagle died. The old tom visited Sunny and Breeze in a dream, explaining that he would watch over them, along with Sami, who had died a few days before in the other tribe. Sami explained what had happened to him, and Eagle said that they would watch over the Tribe, and try to send signs through patterns in the sand, and for Night’s tribe, marks in their trees, leading the four to name the Tribe the Tribe of Rising Sun, and the leader the Teller of the Shining Sun, or Sunteller. And Night’s tribe was called The tribe of Setting moon, and the leader the Teller of the Shadowed Moon, or Moonteller.
Eagle told them that he and Sami would watch over them from the stars, causing Breeze to give them the name the Tribe of Endless Stars after remembering a story he had told about the Tribe of Endless Hunting. Terminology Teller of the Shining Sun (Sunteller) - Leader of the tribe, receives signs and visions from the Tribe of Endless Stars Healers - Medicine cats of the tribe, however they don’t receive omens or visions. Desert-Runners - Fast running cats that hunt roadrunners and jackrabbits Wind-Jumpers - High jumping cats who can catch birds and easily startled lizards Stone-Claws - Strong cats with extraordinary sharp claws that protect the cats Tribe of Endless Stars - Tribes version of Starclan, sends prophecies and such. Star-Walkers - A word occasionally used to describe the cats in the Tribe of Endless Stars.
Territory The Tribe of Rising Sun resides in a desert, somewhat near a Twolegplace. Their camp is in an oasis, shaded by palm trees.
Breeze’s Tree - The largest Palm tree in the territory, named after one of the first co founders of Rising Sun. The cats come here when they graduate, making a mark with their claw amongst the other cats marks. When they become elders, they come back to the tree, making a second mark over their first. This tree it’s important to them, and they protect it fiercely, as it holds their entire past.
Eagle’s Dip - The large oasis that shoulders the tribes camp, this is their main water source, but it dries up in Warm-Sands, causing the cats to travel further to get water. Many of the other animals in the oasis come here for water.
Sunrock - A cliff on the outskirts of the territory, that borders the Moonrock, and where the tribe cats meet their ancestors, hold gatherings, and seek advice. They are massive rocks that hang over a small clearing, covered in dirt, and when the sun rises, it shines against the sun, and makes the cat standing on top shine with the force of the sun. This is one of, if not the, most sacred place.
Twolegplace - On the left border, away from the tribe of setting moon, lies a twolegplace, in which many large animals, the cats call ‘Camels’ stay around the twolegs. The tribe cats stay away, afraid of getting stuck under their massive paws. Camp The Tribe’s camp is in an oasis, and the various dens are scattered around it. The Watcher of the Rising Suns’ den is under a rock on one of the sides, sheltered by a few vines growing down over it. The Healer’s den is between a pair of close palm trees, and the back (furthest from the oasis) is blocked by a stone, keeping wind out. The Desert-Runners, Wind-Jumpers, and Stone-Claws’ den is in a clump of fern-like bushes on the opposite side of the oasis. Near the ferns, a fallen palm tree with an odd curve shelters the nursery. One of the ends of the tree has another of the fern-like bushes, further sheltering the den, and some of the Stone-Claws of the past moved a rock to the other side, making a sort of ‘c’ shape facing the water. The elder’s den is on the other side of the nursery, and it is in the area between a moss-covered rock and a palm tree. The rock leans on the tree, creating a right triangle to protect the elders. The To-Bes’ den is on the other side of the Desert-Runner, Wind-Jumper, and Stone-Claws’ den. The To-Bes’ den is in the center of a small patch of desert grasses, sheltering the To-Bes from wind.

yooo this is so awesome !!! The backstory is so sick and feels so sacred.
I love how much effort you put into the herbs, reading it made me go ✨✨ I love it. So clever and unique.
I think a tornado plotline would be so cool, especially because I am sooo scared of them LOL so it's such an effective and fr thing that they'd be frightened of. Tornadoes and sandstorms could be very devastating to them.

News - 13 moons ago, The Healer Sunset passed to the Star-Walkers. Leaf was made the permanent healer.
- 2 moons ago, Sage died protecting the prey she had caught to a coyote. She was found by a patrol near the oasis, which fuelled the anger the tribe has for the neighbouring Coyote pack more.
Current plots Coyote Pack | Currently: Active
Sunteller found an omen in the sand beside Breeze’s Tree. It showed coyotes and the cats facing eachother. This has worried her, and she hasn’t told anyone about it. Coyotes have now started to steal prey, and the tribe cats are fearful, and rumours have said the smaller packs have joined together to make a larger enemy.
Sub-Plots tba, feel free to suggest some in the discussion page!
Future Plots - The tribe is in Storm-Sands, and it’s the worst one they have ever seen. A massive sandstorm rushes through the oasis, killing cats in its path. They cats fear they might not survive, and when it finally vanishes, they return to the camp in New-Sands, to see it completely stranded and destroyed. They have to build it again.

So for the recent plot, I have so many ideas! Like what if the Coyote pack and the cats eventually manage to come to terms with eachother? Or somehow the Coyotes can speak cat or something? (Would be weird but you know, it would be cool)
so like they mark territories and such at the end of the plot, and live somewhat peacefully? If this is stupid or you guys don’t agree, feel free to tell me! Also, if you like this plot and have more ideas for it, also tell me! I love hearing other people’s ideas!
and with that, that’s the last post! I’ll start making the official thread soon, (maybe today) and then make the separate sub pages for you guys to join with. Thanks for all the support everyone!! ^_^
edit: oooo could be like the rat pack thing, somehow the leader can talk? And the others can’t.

I LOVE the coyote idea and the idea of them and the cats being able to communicate and become allies, that would open up for such a unique dynamic ! Especially if only the leader could talk, that's such an interesting dynamic.
There's so much culture that could be shared between the two species
