Rain dripped down from the leaf oak canopy ahead. Leaves rustled as the exiled cat slogged past. The cat looked up. No sign of the sky clearing. It had seemed to be wet ever since he got exiled. He tried to protest. He didn't do it. He would never had committed murder. But they didn't heed to his pleadings and he was cast out. The last hisses he heard from his beloved clan were Strikestars's ;
"Go Adderwood! Be gone and let the foxes take you in the woods!"
Then the mob of cats swarmed him and he was driven out from his home.
Now Adderwood was alone.
In the boomdocks where no living being could find him.
Or so he thought....

I'm gonna get pronouns wrong on purpose for this one btw
Adderwood shook himself and stared at the stranger cat. It looked like she wanted to kill him. "Who are you?" she demanded.
"what do you want from me?" Adderwood said, eyes narrowed. "If you're a Clan cat, i don't wanna hear it!"
"I'm not a clan cat." she hissed.
"Well what are you? Some rouge she-cat by the looks of it." Adderwood growled.
Suddenly with a hiss she leaped on him yowling,claws unsheathed.

"Woah there lady! I'm not gonna attack you I was just curious!" Adderwood exclaimed as the rouge bristled at him. "And yeah sorry about the rabbit..."
The rouge cat glared at him. 'Yeah well what can you do. Now tell me- what is your name and what's your buisness on my turf???"

Sure enough however, he heard and smelled cats nearby. Adderwood panicked as he realized that a certain cat was among them...
"Hide!" he hissed and throust the rouge into a nearby bush. They yelped in surprise and he leaped in just in time.
The leaves rustled and two cats strolled into view. Adderwood stifled a gasp as he recognized Rosepool, his former love and only love. His fur bristled as he saw the cat she was with. Hawkshade! The lean dark Tom wove his tail with Rosepool's.
"Are you sure about this?" the white and rose she-cat said worriedly. "They might find us"
"It's fine as long as you're with me. " Hawkshade said silkily. "Now come on and let's go make a place for our own. Remember they don't need to know."
Rosepool signed and straightened up. "Ok. Lets go." she said with a twinge of sadness.
Hawkshade smiled and followed her out of sight.
Once the coast was clear, Adderwood crept out of the hazel bush. "I can't believe it! That slimy fox hearted piece of mud!" he spat and lashed his tal in the direction they came from. "And Rosepool! Why did she have to fall for him?!?"
His anger rushed and he fell down ina flood of emotion. He felt as if he was falling down into nothing....

Adderwoo sighed, flattening his ears in defeat. "The name's Adderwood. I don't want to hurt you or anyone. Except Hawkshade." he said the latter through gritted teeth. "And i did have a friend once. That she cat you saw with that muck ball. Rosepool." He shook himself and straightened up. "But that doesn't matter now. I need to go back to where I came from--to set things right again."
He stood up and smiled a crooked smile at Sparrow. "Nice meeting you. I'll catch you later."
Then without another word he bounded off into the wood thicket and disappeared.

Adderwood turned as he heard a crashing in the bracken behind him. Hissing, he turned on the clumsy newcomer.
"Oh. It's just you." He said as he noticed Sparrow. "Where are you going?" they said and collapsed panting.
"Well what are you doing?" Adderwood said as he prodded them playfully with a paw.

"Back to my Clan." Adderwood said, his expression serious. "I have to try to convince them I'm innocent. I don't know how long I can go being a loner." He turned and started off again. "I suggest you stay here. I don't know how they would react if they saw me, let alone me with a random rouge. And I don't want you to get hurt. Don't worry about me. If it goes wrong, I'll come back to you. If I don't, just forget about me."
Then, before Sparrow could do anything he raced off again.

Adderwood halted as he stood in front of the patrol that had confronted him.
"Why are you here adderwood?" Smokewhisker, a long haired gray she-cat growled. "You were exiled a moon ago!"
"Yes, but I need to talk to Strikestar! I need to convince him that I didn't kill Leafdusk!"
"Fine." Smokewhisker growled. "But don't start believing that you're gonna get out of this intact!" She beckoned to Applepaw and White fur and they escorted Adderwood back to camp.

"STRIKESTAR!" Whitefur yowled. "Guess who wants to beg for mercy!"
Adderwood glared at her and squared himself so he stood directly in front of his former Leader.
Rage glittered in Strikestars amber eyes. "Why did you come back murderer?..." he said deathly quiet.
"Because I'm NOT a murderer! I didn't kill Leafdusk! But I know who did. Hawkshade murdered her!" Adderwood meowed defiantly.
Shouts and gasps echoed around the camp.
"Silence!" Strikestar yowled and the cats went silent. "What have you to prove that Hawkshade killed her? Was it her blood on your fur or his? Was he found at the scene or you?"
Adderwood stammered "Um I can ex-"
"LIAR" Strikestar spat. "Don't try to weave your way out of this mess! You have no place in Fern Clan and will never be! Unless you want to fight for it, you are ordered to leave!"
"No." Adderwood said and glared at his leader.
"Strikestar hissed and leapt at him. Claws raked his chest and Adderwood scrambled to defend himself. Before he could get up, he was thrust down with more claws and teeth as they forced him out of the camp.
Bleeding from every part of his body, he ran to where he left Sparrow. Pain racked him and he let out a wail of anguish Hi vision went blurry and he fell to the ground. The last thing he saw was Sparrow running toward him, as the world faded to black.
