Will the Light in the Mist be extinguished one day?
- Sounds a bit weird, as it doesn't seem to refer to the Lights in the Mist title and the cats that hold it. Maybe a visit to the Dark Forest?
No! Not after all the loss these two have endured already...
- The cat is probably talking about Ivypool and Rootspring
It's good to see Clan cats here after so long.
- I have no idea. Does someone know who they could be? They seem to know the clans after all. Maybe those that left ThunderClan and didn't return? Or the Tribe?
Perhaps it's time for your story to be remembered.
- Sounds like something that would be said at the end of the book. Probably one of the other cats saying it to Ivypool or Rootspring or the other way around.

“Will the Light in the Mist be extinguished one day?”
Thinking this one will be about the possibility of Bristlefrost eventually being forgotten.

The last one is likely said to whoever the "forgotten generation" or w/e are.

I sure hope that the book doesn‘t end like:
Okay, because of this adventure, where we saved and talked to random cats, i have found closure and Bristlefrost will live on in our hearts.
I want Ivypool to somehow talk to her, or something interesting to happen. Go to the Dark Forest and talk with the cats she recruited or sth.

This will definitely include the Dark Forest.
WAITWAITWAIT does the third quote have anything to do with the gorge?

actually pretty excited for this novella and SE 18. The authors seem pretty excited for it and call it ambitious, which is cool

I guess, but I'd rather an ambitious story than a safe one this far into the series. From the New Years post on the website, they seem excited particularly for Ivypool's Heart and SE 18 (calling it an ambitious plan that they brainstormed a while ago and are finally making a reality), especially compared to how they talk about finishing ASC and beginning arc 9.

Can't wait for the book to be released! I'm just super excited to find out what's actually going on with Ivypool and her companions on the quest while the ASC finale takes place at the same time back at the lake.

I wonder if Ivypool will go to the Dark Forest to finally kill Mapleshade.
She was one of the reasons her daughter died after all.
Or Mapleshade doesn’t die and becomes the voice in Moonpaws head.

The last two quotes intrigue me. They clearly went somewhere the Clans have gone before, it seems like.

In light of the book map, I’m wondering if the quote about seeing clan cats again is going to be either the Sisters + company or cats from twolegplace that have been met by past protagonists, such as Jingo’s group. The map seems to imply they aren’t going to the forest, gorge, or Tribe mountains since they are heading north.

The third line really makes me think someone on the journey is going to die, or almost dies at the very least.

I wonder if it means Dovewing will die. The last time the remaining sister got a Super Edition, the one with the novella gave up the ghost. Plus Dovewing dying would probably be the most impactful considering her relationship with the very emotional and ornery Tigerstar II. He invaded RiverClan after the death of his kit, who knows what he’s prone to do to ThunderClan if his mate dies? Bonus points that his uncle isn’t in power to defend him anymore. In actuality, I’d be fine with anyone but Whistlepaw dying. Ivypool means a non POV character could be deputy, Dovewing means I don’t have to deal with her anymore, Icewing is meh and I don’t want her as a leader anyway as she’ll just bow down to Tigerstar II, and the narrative so far makes it like Rootspring’s the only relevant SkyClan cat outside of Leafstar, since he hasn’t faded neatly into the background like his fellow protagonists, so I’ve been a bit grumpy with him lately.)

I considered this, and I think it could happen. Dovewing doesn't actually have a whole lot going on anymore, and having the death of one of the three is a huge draw for a super edition that I know for a fact the Erins are trying to give special attention to. It can also be an instigator of conflict (which they need for the coming books, river of blood and so forth) like you said. There's definitely going to be a focus on her, so plot-wise, Dovewing is in the most danger of being killed off of any of the group, and probably the most in her lifetime so far.
I would probably be fine with it if that ended up happening. I'm a big fan of her, but the best characters are often cut short so I would not mad if she dies. Only problem is, spoilers would be IMPOSSIBLE to avoid, lol.

Only problem is, spoilers would be IMPOSSIBLE to avoid, lol. It doesn’t help I’m a sucker for traveling stories with constant death at every turn. HJ is high up with being infuriating and depressing for a reason. Not helped by books like The Sight, which is almost constant killing of the wolf characters present within the main pack. And likely more so the editors than Kate and Cherith themselves, I can’t remember if either have a particular opinion on Dovewing at all. She and her sister started my hate train of one pov character I can’t stand per arc that becomes my stopping chapter, so it would be nice to have one/half of the duo leave the narrative, if I can’t have both. Also relevant now that I’m thinking about it, if Dovewing does die, she’ll have died apprenticeless, as she’s yet to have an apprentice, to my knowledge. (Which is also a stark contrast as she and Rootspring are the apprenticeless cats, her sister and Icewing had at least one apprentice, and Whistlepaw is one.)
