"Am I okay? Yeah, I'm better than okay, I'm a hero! OW-" Keynes crowed before wincing. "My shoulder... ough..." He looked at the wound. Obviously the badger had caught it with its claws, slicing it open. Not bad for taking on a badger, though. He thought with a weak smile. Of course there were also some bumps and bruises from when Lightsong threw him off the badger. "Is that it?"

Lightsong watched Keynes limp over to camp and she stepped forward to help but restrained herself.
I already embarrassed Keynes enough by fighting the badger in one blow. She thought.
Then she looked at moonblaze-
"Let's drag the badger to a hole I found a couple of days ago." She said and picked up one leg and arm of the badger and pulled it onto her back.

"Well..." Keynes began, puffing out his chest. "We attacked the badger, and I was leading the attack, straight into the beast's den!" He meowed, trying to sound as grandiose as possible without crying out from the pain. "And I pounced on it, just as it was running towards me, snapping its horrible jaws! It must have caught me, but I didn't even notice then. I was just too focused on the fight, so I pounced onto that badger's back and held on until the others joined in!" He thought for a second. "And then Lightsong and Moonblaze helped... er, deal with it, so don't worry."

whitetail "Are you accusing me of lying? I'm not lying." Keynes shot her a look as she turned her head away. "Is telling a good story a crime? I mean, I did do all of those things..." The tom hissed in pain, cradling his bloodied shoulder. "Agh- Are you saying you aren't impressed?"

"I... Huh." Keynes said. "Well, I didn't mean to get hurt on purpose. It's not really my thing, even if it means getting to see you. Which is a plus." He was really tripping over his words now, blustering at her pointed remark. "I'm not trying to make more work for you, really! It just happened! Of course it would, with a badger involved... Someone was going to get hurt either way..."

whitetail "Yeah. I will." He replied. "Thanks for patching me up... You're really with with your paws. And with herbs, too." Rose really is something... she doesn't seem all that impressed with me no matter what I say, though. Was it good to have someone like her, who could see straight through his stories and 'creative liberties'? Maybe.

As lightsong and moonblaze draged a long the badger to the hole she thought about her chances of being leader or deputy.-
"Hey moonblaze." She asked. "Answer me truthfully. What are my chances of getting deputy or leader?"

Hawkheart "You managed to jump in to protect Keynes, I may have helped develop the strategy to take this badger down, but I was too focused on the target that I didn't see what it did to him... I think you'd make a fine leader or deputy. You proved yourself well out there." He was dragging the badger away with her by its other two limbs to a hole she had found.

Hawkheart He nodded, feeling bad for letting Keynes get hurt but then again these things do happen in battle sometimes. "With your quick actions, you definitely made us proud, and I'm sure your family will be proud of that too. I can definitely trust you to help protect us."

Hawkheart "Shouldn't we bury it? Just in case or you think it's out for good?" He looked over to her as she was about to walk back.

Hawkheart He assisted with burying the badger with soil to make sure the earth reclaims the body, and once they were finished, Moonblaze patted the dirt mound to ensure it was nice and fully filled. "Okay... it won't bother us any longer... it's over. Let's head on back home now, see if Keynes is all right now."
