You are in the middle of training when you suddenly hear a voice inside your mind. "Let the mightiest warriors of the universe gather on Earth and fight to decide the Strongest in the Galaxy! They who have claimed the title shall have one wish fulfilled by the mighty dragon god!" the mysterious voice proclaims. This voice spoke in a language that you did not know but nevertheless you could still understand what it meant. You wonder if perhaps you are crazy but you soon find out that others heard this voice as well - in fact it seems everyone did. So you decide to enter the tournament.
Any initial skepticism of this mysterious voice's claim is swept aside as it becomes clear exactly how widespread this message was heard. With this realization the Earth soon became flooded with warriors seeking to have their wish fulfilled. To avoid complete anarchy and destruction the Galactic Patrol has partnered with Capsule Corporation and together they have created the Galactic Royale - a tournament said to be the largest in the history of the Galaxy. Who will win? What will their wish be? Who is this mysterious wizard. And why was this tournament started in the first place? Find out all this and more in this action packed Dragon Ball Adventure!
This RP takes place in Age 1000 nearly 200 years after the end of Z. This can also be considered to be taking place in an alternate timeline where many of the events of the original timeline either did not take place or were altered. The power level of mortals in this timeline is significantly reduced with even the strongest of mortals not even capable of destroying a large planetoid like the Moon. Only a few members of the original cast are still alive such as Dende and Popo or Beerus and Whis. Eventually a proper timeline for this universe will be created that will explain key events and what the surviving members of the original cast are up to.
By this point in time the knowledge of ki and how to use it has become widespread thanks to research on the topic that had been published by Gohan and Bulma. Several Martial Arts skills have popped up on that train their students on how to use ki with many having been founded by members of the main cast. The Galactic Patrol has also now opened a station on Earth as the planet is now fully open to the galaxy. Aliens have become a common sight on Earth due to this but a particular alien race is far more common than the others - the Saiyans. Due to more surviving Saiyans appearing on Earth and settling there a large population of Saiyans numbering in the thousands has been established with Earth now being considered their homeworld.
The current plot kicks off ten days ahead of the preliminaries for the Galactic Royale. The registration period has just started and this will be an opportunity for our MCs to meet for the first time. The preliminaries will take place at eight different arenas where a battle royale styled fight where the last two remaining fighters will move on to the main tournament. The main tournament will occur a month later and with rules similar to the Tenkaichi Budokai.
I have created a milestone based power scaling system for us to get a general idea of how strong certain characters are. These aren't precise values and the abilities mentioned can be learned at different levels depending on the character but most characters will learn them around the mentioned level. There are 15 levels (for now) that are determined by the maximum destructive capability of a character if they were to put all of their strength into one attack. The power levels are generally exponential in nature.
Level 1 - This character can destroy a large rock or tree
Level 2 - This character can destroy multiple large rocks or trees
Level 3 - This character can destroy an entire building. They can also now use Ki blasts and have limited flight skills.
Level 4 - This character can destroy multiple buildings
Level 5 - This character can destroy an entire city block. They also have basic flight skills and can use ki sensing
Level 6 - This character can destroy multiple city blocks
Level 7 - This character can destroy an entire city. They also have advanced flight skills
Level 8 - This character can destroy multiple cities
Level 9 - This character can destroy a mountain/small island
Level 10 - This character can destroy multiple mountains/small islands
Level 11 - This character can destroy entire mountain ranges or large islands
Level 12 - This character can destroy a subcontinent
Level 13 - This character can destroy a continent
Level 14 - This character can destroy multiple continents
Level 15 - This character can destroy a small planetoid
Flight has three different levels of mastery - limited, basic, and advanced. With limited mastery this character can hover and stop their momentum to keep themselves from being ringed out. Basic mastery allows the character to properly fly but only at low altitudes and at the speed of a car. Advanced mastery allows the character to fly at any altitude and the faster than the speed of sound.
- When creating your characters you are not allowed to make them be androids, clones, robots, Namekians, demons or Kais. This will likely change in the future
- Your characters cannot be time travelers or have been frozen in stasis or anything similar
- You cannot claim or rp canon characters
- When creating your main characters they will not have the abilities to sense or suppress their ki or have the ability to fly unless it is an intrinsic ability of their species
- Main characters will start at a Power Level of 3. The maximum strength of the other fighters in the main tournament will be 5. The maximum strength of any other character will be 7.
- Don't feel afraid to create a species for one of your characters but make sure you fill out the form for adding a new species first
- As this is a Dragon Ball RP our main characters will be particularly talented and powerful but that does not mean they will be able to steam roll through every fight. They will get beat up and lose every now and then. Make sure you also give them character flaws that actually impact how they behave
- The winners and matchups for the tournament will be determined ahead of every fight with a focus on what would allow our characters to grow in interesting ways
- While this is not a strict requirement and you will not be punished in any way try to aim for post length of 100 words. Having posts at least that long will help give the people you are roleplaying with inspiration for their replies. If you cannot reach that goal make sure you at least have a three sentence long post.
- Do not describe injuries in excessive detail
- Keep OOC chatter to a minimum. If you need to do any planning go to the discussion page
- Make sure you follow all forum rules
