We aren't like those other gangs, who use violence or intimidation to control others! We care about one another and we treat each other like family! Everyone has a role to play and if you do your part, you will be greatly rewarded! The gang is always looking for more members and it's okay if it isn't for you! All I ask is that you give us a chance. So what do ya say?
About
The Salty Sharks are a group of cats that live in a city. The group is mostly made up of rogues, loners and kittypets with a few clan cats scattered here and there. The gang comes in all shape, colors and sizes. Anyone can join long as they are willing to prove themselves and fit the requirements. Most Twolegs leave the gang alone, but some of them will set up traps in order to spray or neuter them. Those who haven't been changed are warned to avoid these twolegs no matter how tasty the food they bring is!
Territory
The gang's territory is in a run down section of a large city. Most of their territory extends from the docks, the beach and parts of the forest and towards the middle of the city where a medium sized park is located. The nicer section of the city is home to another group of cats.
Camp:
The gang's camp is located in a abandoned warehouse near the docks. Most of the cats make their nest in one of the shipping containers scattered around or in old boxes. The higher ranks are on the second floor in separate rooms.
List of Ranks
Boss
The boss is the leader of the gang. He is aware of everything going on within the gang and nothing major goes on without their knowledge. The boss demands absolute respect and loyalty from their gang members. To go against the boss is considered treason and can face severe consequences.
Underboss
The underboss is the second in command to the boss. The underboss keeps an eye on the gang and gathers information for the boss. Should anything happen to the boss, the underboss will become the next boss. Anyone can challenge the current underboss for their position.
Medics
The medics are the healers of the group. They have a vast knowledge of herbs which helps them heal their clanmates. Medics get their herbs either from the forest or from the park.
Medics in training
Young cats training to become medics. These young cats have the longest training time mainly to make sure they are properly trained.
Enforcers
Enforcers are the brutes within the gang. They make sure everyone is following the rules while acting as guards for the boss and underboss. Should someone be causing trouble within the gang, they will have a "chat" with said cat. What happens depends on what the boss ordered or the discretion of the enforcer. No surprise that some enforcers are pretty corrupt and have no problem abusing their power or taking bribes from others. Most enforcers are older experienced cats, but the boss can promote anyone to an enforcer mostly soldiers. They will occasionally accompany soldiers and supplies on their patrols.
Soldiers
Soldiers are the fighters and protectors of the gang. They guard the camp along with patrolling the territory.
Suppliers
Suppliers are cats who hunt for the gang along with finding tools, herbs and any valuables that might be useful to the gang. Some prefer to hunt for prey while others like to steal food from twolegs or other cats. How the supplier obtains the food matters little long as the food provides for the gang.
Lookouts
Looksouts are cats who go out and keep an eye on twoleg movement, rival gangs and any piece of land the gang could claim as their own. Lookouts often venture out past the gang's territory being careful not to get caught by other cats. Whatever information they find must be reported to underboss or the boss.
(Unsure if I'll keep or not)
Recruiters
Recruiters are cats who go out into the city to find cats to join the gang. They look for cats who might fit a specific role within the gang or just cats who are down on their luck. Recruiters have a way of making the gang sound like an amazing. Sometimes it takes a while to convince a cat to join. (Unsure if I will keep this or not)
Rookies
Young cats six months to a year who are ready to start training for their role within the gang. Most are training to be soldiers, suppliers or lookouts. However some can be hand picked to be trained as a recruiter, enforcer or as a medic.
Recruits
Cats who are interested in joining but have not been approved yet by the boss. They must prove themselves and will train alongside rookies to get a feel of how the gang is run. Those who do not meet the requirements or simply aren't a fit will be escorted out. Some bosses will even ordered them to be killed.
Mothers and Kits
Mothers are cats who are expecting, nursing or are a permanent mother who helps out with the kits. They are to be treated with the same respect as some of the higher ranks. Kits are the next generation of the gang.
Elders
Elders are cats who have retired or for whatever reason can no longer serve the gang. Not many cats live long enough to become an elder so those who have reached old age are respected.
Traditions and Customs:
-Since they are close to the beach, cats like to collect shells, pretty looking rocks, and anything else they will keep to themselves or offer as a tribute to the boss. The most valuable item a cat can find is a shark's tooth.
-When a cat dies, they are covered in seaweed and either buried on the furthest part of the beach or pushed into the ocean.
-Initiation Day- When a rookie is ready to become a full member of the gang, They must undergo a test given either by the boss or by their mentor.
For a rookie training to be a soldier it might be surviving a fight with another soldier or an enforcer.
For Rookie training to be a Supplier. it might be catching a particular prey or finding something specific.
For Rookie training to be a lookout, they must lead a patrol and given an accurate recount of everything they encountered.
Medics in training must be able to list all the herbs, where to find them and how to use them. Along with having enough experience with different type of injuries and sicknesses.
What goes on for those wishing to be full enforcers or recruiters remains to a secret which has led many cats to speculate on what goes on.
Should a rookie pass said tests, the boss will place their paw on the top of their head and proclaim them a true member of the gang. This same gesture applies to recruits as well.
