A lot of the time, people who know about my interest in this series but don't share it ask why I read the books and care about the series in any way despite the fact that I have a lot to complain about it.
I usually don't have a ready answer for this, so I want to know what others think is the best quality of the series is. (I'm not talking about specific moments, but a theme or something like that.)

The world building. Somehow, despite all the flaws in this series, it just works. People are still making fan clans and rps based off the same basic idea of religious feral cat colonies about 20 years after the first book came out.

In my opinion there's a lot that could be improved about the worldbuilding, but a lot of the flaws in warrior cats really come down to not utilizing the full potential of the characters and world due to poor planning. But despite all that, the concept of the world is very appealing and such a great jumping off point for fanworks. There's just nothing else quite like it, even in the animal xenofiction genre.

For me, lots of characters to get attached to and lots of material.

Clan politics and the fighting. For me personally at least.

Honestly a lot of these bring me back to the series, but something I would contribute is how there's so much material but it still feels contained enough to not be overwhelming, if that makes sense. I also like how easy it is to use the same concept and just 'fill in the blanks' of what was missing. There's a lot there that the series does not use in terms of worldbuilding or plot points or characters, and I like to think about what could be. I probably wouldn't be very interested if Warriors was just 'good'!

A little difficult to say, because I really do think it varies depending on the arc.

It's one of those things where there's a perfect "skeletal base" to build my own ideas and concepts off of, it's the perfect vector for imagination. The characters are like toys and I am playing pretend. I think that's why fanworks, AUs and rewrites and stuff are so popular since it's this huge toybox of character archetypes, worldbuilding concepts, rules and systems, etc. We make the books our own.

The worldbuilding and the characters and Clans you create based off the series.
