The Warrior Cats universe has plenty of villains but I want to list a couple of villains that I personally felt intrigued by. Specifically their fighting style and overall combat ability. That aspect has always fascinated me for some reason. My interpretations and headcanons.
If you got extra information to add feel free to!
One Eye: Held his own against three cats and died to Thunder who joined later. Only cat that has comparable feats to that is Ashfur. Its such a shame One Eye died in the same book he was introduced in. I would've liked to see more feats from him. I would mainly characterise his fighting style to be cunning and vicious. Also since he's pretty old I would imagine he has techniques for cats for all sizes. Again too bad he's dead and we didn't get to see much of it. If he was still around I'm pretty confident he would give the clans in the lake territories trouble if they tried to fight him. 7/10
Darktail: Rogue with zero training except unlike Scourge, Darktail doesn't really show much fighting techniques/skill. I am mainly using Onestar's Confession for most of this stuff. Unfortunately this is mostly going off memory since I do not have access to a pdf version of Onestar's Confession nor my physical copy of it but it was noted and stated in the text by Onestar that no matter how many times he countered and adapted to the moves Darktail threw out Darktail would continue pressing on for the attack. I would mainly list Darktail's fighting style to be vicious, wild, and tenacious. Its evident in the final fight from the POV of Onestar Darktail has a lot of endurance and sheer hatred to help him keep getting up no matter how many times he's thrown back. A tough fighter in his own right. But not special. 6.5/10
Tigerstar & Brokenstar: Both are massive muscular cats who uses their strength without hesitation. But the clear difference I daresay would be overall power and technique/skill. In the books while Brokenstar and Tigerstar's sizes are never directly compared they are CONSISTENTLY described as huge. So of course their fighting style would revolve on brute strength. But considering Firepaw notes Tigerclaw's strength in the first arc while he also fought Brokenstar and to my knowledge didn't exactly make a similar comment. I would say Tigerstar in the end has superior physical strength.
Tigerstar is seen numerous times teaching Hawkfrost and Lionpaw/blaze moves and having them practice. While we don't see Brokenstar really do anything similar to that. Both toms are heavy brute fighters but I would say that's all that Brokenstar has while Tigerstar may have a trick or two hidden. (Don't ask me what tricks I have no clue.)
Tigerstar: 9/10
Brokenstar: 6.8/10
Scourge: Swift and deadly. Described as a snake and managed to kill Tigerstar and Firestar. Considering that we never see him train in the manga "Rise of Scourge" I daresay he's a prodigy that can make up moves on the fly and potentially mimic some
(However him mimicking moves is never actually shown in the books this is just my interpretation/headcanon. How else did he manage to contend with Firestar of all cats anyway?)
Described as a snake by Firestar. Firestar at the time already fought Brokenstar and Tigerclaw. Yet he still has trouble with Scourge. Leaving no room for debate on how Scourge without doubt is one of the fastest fighters. Quick enough to kill Firestar and Tigerstar. But Scourge relies on his artificial claws to boost his physical strength. Since he's always described as tiny (Also literally his name before.) I would say in physical strength he's nothing noteworthy. Would've liked to see Scourge fight more but alas like One Eye. He got killed in the same book he was introduced in.
Scourge: 9/10 (I guess)
Mapleshade: Mapleshade's style I would consider to be similar to One Eye's. Both are vicious and unpredictable at times but Mapleshade is shown in the books to be hosting training sessions in the Dark Forest and showcasing moves to cats like Thistleclaw, Rushtooth, Houndleap, etc Mapleshade without doubt has numerous techniques hidden away ready to be used. Despite her inability to kill Sandstorm I would still say her fighting ability overall is nothing to scoff at. Mapleshade is bloodthirsty but her style is likely to be more refined due to constant Dark Forest teaching.
Was really tempted to add Slash, Hawkfrost, Ashfur, and even Ivypool to this list. But I realised Slash is kinda lame (Sorry Slash fans). Hawkfrost's fighting style is most likely a similar version to Tigerstar's except with a dash of RiverClan in it. Ashfur and Ivypool's fighting styles are more interesting but harder to write down for me personally.
Mapleshade: 7.1/10
Disagree with me or don't. I'm always willing to change to my current views on most of the villain's fighting styles.
