Here we go:
Starclan in general just feels too well connected to the clans. Deaths are not so sad anymore, because we know cats can reunite in starclan. If cats as ancient as Gray Wing can still be seen without being remembered by current clan cats then only losses like (SPOILERS!) Bristlefrost’s feel tragic. Starclan would still work if the clans were less connected — if not every other cat was seeing a vision or receiving a prophecy, or if they were less clear and left up to medicine cats/leaders and not common clan members to dispute.
Personally, I find an issue with the way dialogue has changed. Leaders and medicine cats no longer speak formally “we must, you shall, the clans cannot…” — the common use of contractions and much more casual language has replaced this. The growing theme of disrespect from younger cats to elders is really annoying, as of (I think) AVOS, and that timeless feel to the series has almost disappeared because of it. There are no more wise elders or wise leaders — everyone argues with the wisdom of uncle bob and grandma barb at thanksgiving dinner. And the same with starclan. You’re telling me Bluestar has a cumulative lifespan of 76 years or something and she still snaps at everyone? supposedly cats in starclan are returned to their youth and strength and then they are just as crabby? Make it make sense. How does endless hunting work too? Are there endless crap piles — sorry, dirtplaces too?
Another thing is the names. You are telling me there are 13 known cats with the prefix rain and three DIFFERENT cats called Rainfur and TWO MEDICINE CATS EONS APART BOTH WITH THE NAME OF FRECKLEWISH?? (That one feels like someone mixed the two up by accident). What is a Twigbranch?

Only one of the two Frecklewishes is a medcat, but the reusing names thing is weird especially how odd the name Frecklewish is. There's two Reedshines as well.
