Okay so, years ago, I made up this clan set in Ancient Greece and it was super fun, and I’d kinda like to revisit that, so I guess this is an interest check?
Some notes:
- they have their own pantheon of gods that they worship that will be loosely based on the Greek pantheon but as cats and stuff.
- there are probably more than one clan but I think that none of their territories touch, making it a longer journey to confront them. However wars between clans and gatherings still happen (though I think we’d only focus on one clan and maybe expand to more as time goes on)
- there’s gonna be a lot of traditions involved, and I think these cats will be a big more “evolved” than normal clan cats. Nothing crazy, but imagine them wearing flower crowns, mashing berries to paint their fur, and stuff like that.
- there’s gonna be gods and monsters involved, potentially even demigods, which will have special abilities, I think this could be fun.
- basically I want to combine Greek mythology with warrior cats and see what happens, so, who’s interested?

You could for muses have them be tied with the elders, and that male and female elders have different names

with how the muses often get depicted in plays and such as doing a lot of oral speaking of the myths/having oral parts in telling the stories, where as in mythology itself they entertained the gods/goddesses with poetry/music/etc, so i think my idea being with how elders tell stories to kits/younger cats/get to have their input brought into situations due to their wisedom,
or i could maybe see it that it could be treated a a type of rank where cats who might not be best at hunting/fighting can still pitch in, by having a type of hospitality type role, since the muses were used as a source of entertainment, they could be cats that entertain guests the clan might receive till the leader is a available to speak with them

Okay I really like that!
I like the idea of making it a special rank, especially since I was considering multiple different ranks as it is
Obviously we have the leader and deputy, + medicine cat, but instead of warriors I was thinking of dividing it by fighters and hunters, maybe even a small group of scouts, and I really like the idea of entertainers being its own role too, for the cats who aren’t quite as good at the other stuff, I think it offers a lot of variety to play with

I also want to tie different ceremonies and stuff into the gods
Like to become mates, I think they need to give an offering and pray to Etaírthea, and probably also do that again when a cat finds out they’re expecting
I think it would be common to pray to and offer things to Agapíthea if you like someone or want to know if you’re a good match or something
Then of course like, Fenynthea is the goddess who looks over the hunters, while Sofíathea and Pólemeos look over the fighters and stuff

also here’s my idea for a plot
After a tragedy where both leader and deputy were lost, every eligible warrior competes in a series of games to determine who is the best fit to lead the clan, with it ultimately falling to the young and inexperienced medicine cat to pick a leader worthy of the gods approval.

I think it could be really fun and give everyone who joins a chance to throw a cat into the ring. I’d probably claim the medicine cat, but it definitely feels like a fun plot to me

This is what I’m thinking for my cats
Puddleheart (Tom/16 moons) - small brown tabby cat with white paws, tail tip, belly, and chest and green eyes (Medicine Cat) (open to family, a future mate (he’s gay/demi) and friends)
Honeydusk (Molly/55 moons) - large, long furred fawn colored molly with a black snout and light green eyes (Fighter) (open to family, a mate (she’s demi), kits, past apprentices, friends, etc)
Thundersnap (Tom/30 moons) - tall, short furred, cinnamon bengal tomcat with striking teal eyes (Fighter) (open to a mother (but not father), maybe siblings, friends, a future mate (gay), and one past apprentice)
Sablefrost (Molly/42 moons) - lean, medium furred black smoke molly with white paws and chest and green eyes (Scout) (open to family, friends, a mate/future mate (lesbian), past apprentices, and possibly kits)

Fawnpaw (Molly/8 moons) - medium furred soft brown tabby with white paws, chest, muzzle, and tail, with tufted ears and amber eyes (Hunter apprentice) (open to family, friends, and a mentor, but not open to a future mate bc she’s aro/ace, but your cat can still crush on her if they want I guess, but I don’t recommend, she’s weird.)
