I could see Ivypool as deputy, but I don't know if she's the best choice…I'm not sure who I'd choose over her, though (like, Brightheart would have been a good deputy, but she's out because she's a million years old)

Graystripe didn't even earn his rank to become deputy. He only became deputy because Whitestorm told Firestar that Graystripe should take his place.

Graystripe didn't even earn his rank to become deputy. He only became deputy because Whitestorm told Firestar that Graystripe should take his place. This as well, and while I'm glad Graystripe questioned it, the only cats who seemed to agree without protest were friends of both Graystripe and Firestar.

Graystripe is only loyal up his friends. In the original arc, all he cared about was his relationship with Silverstream. This is once again reflected in POTS, but with Millie. Bumblestripe refused to have boundaries and guilt tripped Dovewing. The two toms are similar and were never fit to be deputy. You even hinted on other threads about a possible Bumblestar. He also lacks leadership abilities. Bumblestripe isn't even near Ivypool's level. From what you just mentioned they don't seem that similar. It's unfair to judge him as a whole based on one relationship (don't you see that?). I think Ivypool as deputy would be fine too, you don't have to bash Bumblestripe though, just because I mentioned he'd make a good choice. Graystripe barely had any influence on him anyways so holding him to the things his father did isn't right.

There wasn't really anyone else to pick, except for Longtail and Dustpelt. Half of the job of being deputy is supporting the leader too, that's why Bramblestar picked Squirrelflight.

Nah I think Rosepetal or Berrynose would be a much experienced deputy than Ivypool. We seriously don't need Firestar's kin getting all the spotlight and attention, while the background characters get thrown to the side like garbage.

We seriously don't need Firestar's kin getting all the spotlight and attention, while the background characters get thrown to the side like garbage. Why do people keep thinking that Rosepetal is a good choice? Also if Berrynose became deputy that would just continue the cycle. Blustar was Sunstar's apprentice. Firestar was Bluestar's apprentice. Bramblestar was Firestar's apprentice. And Berrynose was Bramblestar's apprentice. Also just because Ivypool and Firestar are kin, doesn't negate her viability of being a good leader. Firestar is the only of his kin to actual become leader, if anything his kin keeps hogging the medicine cat positions. Leafpool, Jayfeather and now Alderpaw.
