    Within the territory of DismalClan, some of the prey and predators are not immune to the toxicities in the air and the water and have developed mutations. Some, however, have not been affected.

• Stonepeckers are a mutated version of a woodpecker, with beaks as sharp and heavy as metal. Rather than pecking at woodpecker, they peck at concrete and rock. They can cause structural damage but also pose a threat to the Clan, including kits. Can be hunted, but usually with a large group.
• Repticoons are a mutated version of a raccoon, with thick reptilic scales as well as fur. That are slightly large as well and have razor-sharp fangs. Repticoons are extremely dangerous predators and should be avoided at all costs. Cannot be hunted.
• Giganterats are huge, mutated rats with two tails that contain barbs. They range in size from apprentice-size to warrior-size. They are dangerous, but small ones can be hunted in large groups. However, they are typically very gamey and not the best to eat. Apprentices should stay away.
• Dragonfish are mutant minnows. They are typically the same size or slightly bigger than a regular minnow, but they are lightning fast. Their bodies contain two thick sets of skills, so they are not the best to eat, but can be fine if they are larger. They can be caught in the fountains or found in deeper standing puddles.
• Infarrels are mutated squirrels. They are can have two or three tails as well as be a lot taller and longer than regular squirrels with thin ears. They are scrappy, but not super dangerous, therefore they can be caught. Apprentices can hunt them, but typically should be accompanied by a warrior.
• Landgulls are extremely dangerous mutant seagulls. They have two sets of wings, sharp fangs, and are very carnivorous. They are large enough to carry off unsupervised kits and sometimes even smaller apprentices. They should not be hunted.

    There are other, non-mutated prey in the territory including chipmunks, rabbits, toads, frogs, lizards, songbirds, thrushes, ravens, and many mores. There are predators as well including red foxes, hawks, and falcons.
