This is a thread to speculate the appearances of the three officially named cats for Changing Skies! So far we have 3 new characters announced:
Shyfrost, Rufus, Moonpaw
I picture Shyfrost as being a pale golden tabby for some reason, perhaps with white speckles. I like the idea of Rufus being a brown and ginger torbie.
Now Moonpaw will be interesting. I know a.lot of y'all are begging for her not to be another gray cat and I agree. Perhaps she could be a very dark gray, almost black to parallel Shadowsight?? Both of them seem to have similar character traits for now. I've seen some really creative designs, and one making her a dark ginger to symbolize a blood moon!

I picture Shyfrost as having a significant amount of white. It explains her suffix. I don’t know about any other color for her.
Rufus makes me think of a brown tabby because of one of my patients at a vet clinic who had that name. The person who named the character said they also offered the name Tabbytuft, so tabby might be the pattern.
Maybe Moonpaw will be a dilute calico? I can see that working with the name for some reason.

Shyfrost gives me dilute calico vibes and Rufus gives me brown tabby vibes. As for Moonpaw, I think there's a good chance she'll end up being a gray she-cat with blue eyes, but I really hope I'm wrong.

Shyfrost I imagine to be either a calico or a grey tabby with a lot of white
Rufus might be a very fluffy ginger tabby
Moonpaw is a mostly black cat with some white, based off of Tales of Perfectheart. No one can convince me otherwise

I’d love Moonpaw to be a white cat with heterochromia (blue/yellow). Something we haven’t seen yet, Erins!
I’m sad the gray she-cat has been so overused. Moonpaw would’ve looked stunning as a silver rosetted bengal (I’d like her to have non-Clan origins) - she could’ve looked like the moon with the craters and all </3.
Edit: Hold on, her being a bengal could work with Ivypool’s SE with the plot involving the twoleg den that’s housing strange animals… exotic cats, perhaps? I’m cooking here.

I picture Shyfrost as a pale golden tabby as well, with blue eyes. Rufus seems like a brown tabby, and Moonpaw sadly most likely will be gray.

I'm begging they won't be grey cats but I'm not optimistic aside from Rufus. But let's hope:
Shyfrost could be a cream tabby with white paws, nose and tail tip, so it looks like a small bit of snow "creeping up" her body.
Moonpaw (assuming she's a Night/Sun kit) could be a tuxedo cat, black from her dad and white details from her mom. Amber eyes that look like a blood moon from her dad.
Rufus idk but I imagine he's going to be a brown or ginger tabby.

Shyfrost - gray-and-white with blue eyes
Rufus - reddish-brown or Somali cat
Moonpaw - black tabby (looks dark brownish but with black stripes) with a spot of white on her forehead and golden eyes

I'd see Shyfrost as a white cat, Moonpaw as a black and white cat (to get away from gray) and Rufus a brown tabby.

Shyfrost wants the warrior code to allow medicine cats to take mate and have kits and he doesn't want the Clans to regain their connection to StarClan. He arranges for Harestar and Whistlepaw to be kidnapped by the Twolegs and fabricates false evidence to incriminate Crowfeather. Crowfeather takes refuge in ThunderClan with Breezepelt, Nightcloud, and Heathertail. Shyfrost drops a star-shaped dock sheet into Moonpaw's lair. She then believes it to be a sign from StarClan indicating that she is to be the temporary leader of WindClan, a healer. But although she is the leader, she is Shyfrost's puppet, who manipulates her. Moonpaw and Shyfrost publicly declare their relationship to Gathering and announce that Moonpaw is wearing their kits.

If it would be proven to be true (it probably won't, because it's too risky for the series), then Frostpaw and Shadowsight would definetely need to play a role in this. I can imagine the new "gray protagonist" problem in "Warriors" becoming "the inexperienced medicine cat apprentice is fooled by an evil force" if this were to happen. Still, it sounds like a original plot idea, and, with a little twist, it could definetely work! |

I headcanon Moonpaw as black-and-dark blue-gray with either amber or ice blue eyes

I’m pretty sure 2/3 will be grey cats whether solid or with a pattern. Rufus will probably be a brown tabby or something common.
What I’d hope for is no grey cats, but that’s impossible with the Erins because they have no creativity in character designs.

I did indeed name Rufus after my own cat, who was a brownish tabby (he is the one in my profile picture!), so that's what's in my mind lol, but if the character isn't a brown tabby, then I could definitely see the Erins interpreting him as being a ginger cat - I think him being a Somali sounds very cool! Or for some reason I could imagine him being a black cat  . I wasn't asked to pick the character's colour so he could really be anything! I think Shyfrost would be a lovely name for a dilute calico (grey/cream). Or maybe ginger and white? I feel like they'd be a bicolour cat. Moonpaw seems like a classic grey cat name, but I'm hoping that maybe she'll be a white cat, or something a bit different to what we've had before from our protagonists. A cream tabby would be interesting to see! |

Moonpaw, I hope to be silver or pure white instead of any shade of gray.
Rufus feels more like dark ginger like Russetfur’s fur color.
Shyfrost I haven’t really pictured. So maybe a blue-gray or cream with some white? I doubt calico or tortie though.

Guys hear me out... What if they were ALL Somali cats. Shyfrost (cream/fawn) Moonpaw (blue/silver pointed, lots of white) Rufus (also blue pointed, but with some warmer undertones similar to a brown? But I also just picture him as a classic Somali) EDIT: ALBINO MOONPAW?!? that would be sick!! |
