fair points were made, i think i am sympathizing because i'm writing about her x.x killing kits and destroying families definitely cannot be glossed over

if we don't go the family/related route we could say:

buckpaw recieves his full name, and 1.) brookberry visits him and uncovers she is not the first medicine cat and leaves an omen about a "fallen moon". 2.) like feather mentioned^ he has a "feeling" and and it leads him to seek out guidance from older medicine cats, but instead finds himself in the dark forest and meets fallen

I’m thinking maybe when Buck gets his full medicine cat name, he receives a dream/vision with Brookberry. She throws out a good ol’ StarClan riddle about a fallen moon and yadayada, Buck gets curious and starts trying to piece it together all the while feeling like he’s being watched and just has an overall odd feeling
He’s also not like??? Super connected to StarClan, like the connection is there and he can speak with them, but maybe his connection is “weaker” than most because half of his ancestral connection has leaned toward the dark forest as well, so he’d be more prone to receiving dreams from cats such as Fallen, Dark, and Flint than most

I will always take a chance to do family trees if ever needed
