Dewripple - a powerful silver and white tabby tom with green eyes. a skilled tactician and eager defender, he put his duty before his family, rarely acknowledging his kits
Morningdrift - a large dilute calico tabby with amber eyes; a doe-eyed queen who's heart only belonged to dewripple. she believed having kits with him would force him to give her more of his time, but that did the opposite. she grew bitter toward her litter, leaving them even before they were apprenticed and having nothing to do with them

Darkstep - a handsome cream tom with chocolate brown points and pale blue eyes. egotistical and twisted, yet eerily charismatic. he courted silentfall, not due to love, but rather she was an easy target. he got away with whatever he wanted with her, and when their first litter of kits proved to be "too small" and "too weak", one even being stillborn, darkstep took them away and killed them himself. he decided their second litter was passable, going so far as to even name the strongest after himself.
Silentfall - a thick-furred calico molly with amber eyes. a mute warrior who craved any and all attention, she attracted the attention of darkstep. after her mate killed their first litter (he blamed her publicly for their deaths and claimed she had taken them out of camp one night, and had she been able to speak then she could have called for help when a hawk snagged them both), she was desperate for "perfect" kits. even if she couldn't speak she pushed her kits to be perfect; ebonypaw was pushed to the brink of exhaustion and died during her apprenticeship due to neglect and stress. darksong made it to warriorhood, yet any step he made out of line, any mistake he made, was punished. claws from his father, hard stares from his mother.

Snowpine - a small but fluffy white molly with gray points and blue eyes. gentle and loving, she was the only love that darksong had ever known. they became mates early on, and their romance was cut abruptly short when snowpine died delivering their kits, two of their kits stillborn as well.
Darksong - a large seal point tom with stunning blue eyes. pushed to perfection by his parents, all he had known was scornful glares and angry claws. he vowed to not be like his parents when he found out he was to be a father himself, but then snowpine died alongside lilykit and mistlekit. his father told him it was because they were imperfect, his mother silently agreeing. he wanted to disagree, but then hollypaw died not long into her apprentice training. she had not been strong enough, not smart enough. so he pushed wisteriapaw, telling himself that he was only pushing her so that she wouldn't meet the same fate as her littermates, yet as time went on, he became more and more like his parents, a shadow of his father and a memory of his mother.

yeah, i feel like Cedar was your average leader. i think we've decided on him being a dumbass at times, but beyond that? not bad, not overly great


also, i'll try working on a sorrel/caribou post, but i'm supposed to be leaving here pretty soon so i may not have time for replies, but i'll be around to chat still!

fallenmoon -- First mc of coniferclan. A long-legged, graceful molly with long black smoke fur. with rounded ears and a stunning pair of green eyes. She was exiled after breaking the medicine cat code and bearing kits. She and her kits left in the cold of winter. Her children froze to death two days into their banishment. Maddened with grief, Fallenmoon spent moons plotting how she'd seek revenge and bring justice for the lost lives of her innocent kits. Finally, weakened by hunger and on the brink of death, she returned to ConiferClan territory. The old molly marched right into the heart of her old home and swore a curse for the next generations to come; Before I take my last breath you shall feel my wrath. Your queens will suffer fatal labors, and your kits born weak and stillborn. ConiferClan shall never know the joy of bringing new life for it will always come with a price. Hailstar, shocked and furious by her threats, ordered his warriors upon her. Fallenmoon, weakened from moons of living on her own, died quickly under the first blow. Hailstar reassured his clan that they would be safe and to ignore such silly threats. That night, the first queen of many, died bearing her kits along with her whole litter. Thus starting the terrible ConiferClan curse.

(now i assume over the years elders and higher-ups buried this knowledge due to not wanting cats to live in fear? idk yall can add on where yall deem necessary and make adjustments <3 i may have started writing out her full-story)

Tbh I was thinking of my apprentice Fogpaw, being the smart idiot that he is, starting to put together some of these pieces and getting in trouble for it. Like, dangerous trouble. He thinks if he can solve the mystery he'll earn his warrior name or something, but are there any cats who would threaten or otherwise silence an apprentice (or anyone else for that matter) who gets too close to uncovering the truth?

Damn yall just made Oakstreak's life a lot harder lol he has to compete with half of the clan against his beloved nephew in defense of a cat he is at most very neutral about

<sub>The Queen's Curse {open to suggestions on less cheesy names}

In the first moons of ConiferClan's existence, its leaders would make a mistake that would wound the Clan's very nature for generations to come.

The Clan's first medicine cat, a talented molly named Fallenmoon, had harboured a secret inside her for weeks. She was expecting kits - an outright violation of the medicine cat's code. Fallenmoon had always believed it a ridiculous rule, and believed her Clan would come to learn reason when they realised she - a loyal and loved Clanmate, had decided to breech that one small rule.

But her kits are born, and her dream litter quickly became a nightmare. 

The Clan learned of her break of the laws of StarClan - and still so new to this world, were too afraid of what bad-luck breaking the rules might bring onto them. Hailstar, the first of our leaders, gave the order to drive the medicine cat off ConiferClan lands. With her law-breaking kits in tow. 

Several cries of horror went up - leafbare had been harsh and showed every promise of only becomming harsher. They had already lost several strong warriors to the cold and hunger that season, there was very little chance a queen and her small kits would stand any chance fending for themselves beyond the Clan's expansive territories. But Hailstar stood by his order, and the queen and her small kits were escorted from Camp.

Her kits wouldn't live to see more than two sunrises beyond Clan's camp. 

And the medicine cat buried a part of herself along with her two kits.

For moons Fallenmoon plotted her Clan's demise, just payment for the death of her innocent younglings. Until finally, seasons later she would return, a haggard shell of the fine medicine cat ConiferClan had known in her time with them. But Hailstar would never forget the face of the molly he had sent to die in exile.
