Mandalorian Bounty Hunters (closed)

“That’s where the issue arises,” she murmured in his ear, “because I would do the same for you.” Gently she sat back so that she could see the front of his helmet. All she wanted was to keep Axel and Ollie safe, which was now seeming impossible considering what had just happened. “I guess we can both promise to keep Ollie safe though.” She moved so that she was leaning on his shoulder, and picked up his hand where she pulled it into her lap and began tracing it. In a way it was reminiscent of the first time they’d met. Except only a few hours before that she had wanted to kill him, and now she couldn’t imagine another second without him. “I just want to keep you safe. And… I don’t know if I can. I don’t know if I’ll lose you like my parents. I- I couldn’t keep them safe either.”

Nightmare laughed. Axel certainly was good at lightening the mood, even if the situation was dire. “I guess I’ll have to hold you to that promise.” She leaned against him and petted Ollie, her mind wandering. If the Siths did attack them then they’d just have to fight. There was nothing else to it. “We should probably get going,” she said with a sigh, “I think they took our previous bounties. I guess we’ll just have to get another one… bastards.” Then she eased herself up onto the cot and Ollie got up with her. “I’ll be fine, just get the ship launched okay?”

Nightmare raised her eyebrows. “You sure they’d approve of me?” It was an interesting prospect, meeting his family, and it gave her a bit of anxiety. “Are they Mandalorians too?” She leaned back on the cot, pondering. Ollie got up and laid on her lap as she thought. “I mean, we don’t have anywhere better to go,” then in a quieter voice, “and it’s not like we can visit mine.” Her hands wandered down to Ollie’s ear where she scratched it affectionately. It seemed like a logical choice to go but some part of her was nervous that they wouldn’t like her.

Her heart gave an extra thump as he said he loved her, and she began blushing profusely. The entire time they drove she fiddled with her armor to make sure it was shiny and not dirty, and patched up the hole where the poison had been injected. When they finally landed she stood up. She nodded weakly. “Ready as I’ll ever be I guess.” (Idk what else to say XD imma just let you go from here :3 also yessss drama ✨)

Nightmare smiled as the woman came over, shaking her hand. “Hello, it’s very nice to meet you! My name is Nightmare.” Then she rolled her eyes at Axel’s comment. “Well there was no way to be sure and from… past experiences peoples parents don’t seem to like me too much for some reason.” Her mind wandered to when she’d gone to her friend’s house that one time… before promptly shoving the thought away. That was a while ago and it seemed as though this nice lady liked her, so it didn’t matter. As she leaned on Axel she whistled for Ollie who sprinted over to them. He seemed happy to have gotten so many pets, and barked happily at them. “Lucky scoundrel,” she said with a grin, “stealing all those pets from those innocent children. I’m sure you feel quite pleased with yourself don’t you?” He barked and jumped up on her, putting his dirty paws on her chestplate. So much for the clean armor presentation… eh what the hell. Ollie is more important than someone’s parent’s opinion. She let out a laugh and scratched him behind the ears before he got down, trotting along side them.

Axel grinned at her as they walked, feeling happier than he had in a while. As they were walking, a voice rang out. "Is that who I think it is?" A large male in green and silver Mandalorian armor made his way over. It's obvious just by the way that he holds himself that he views himself as better than everyone else. Axel stiffened as he made his way over. "You've got to be kidding me..." He muttered under his breath, balling his hands into fists. The man made his way over to them and patted axel on the back roughly, his hand landing right where Axels scar would be. "Long time no see, little buddy. How you been? Got yourself a girlfriend? Or is she free for the taking?" He turned his head to look Nightmare up and down, then extended his hand. "The names Kai, and you are?"

Nightmare walked happily with Axel for a few minutes before a large Mandalorian walked up to them. Her body stiffened as she practically felt his eyes dragging down her body, and gripped Axel’s hand tighter. She froze at his question about her being available. “I- I don’t,” she stammered, “I’m just visiting for a while.” At him holding his hand out she hesitantly shook it with her own, and had to pull it away from him as he held it tight. “My name is Nightmare- uhm nice to meet you Kai…” It seemed like every time she felt a strong emotion, whether it be delight or disgust, she went light headed after being injected with the poison. Of course that’s how it was supposed to work; it thrived off of strong emotions such as when someone is being interrogated and feels intense fear, it makes the pain stronger.

Nightmare grimaced. “Yeah I got the feeling you guys aren’t exactly pals.” She then turned to Kai. “Look dude,” she said warily, “I’m tired. Actually, I just got back from being kidnapped and injected with herpidone and quite frankly am not in the mood for flirting. So if you’ll excuse Axel and I, we’ll be going. I wish I could say it was a pleasure meeting you but that would be a lie, and I would hate to lie to someone with such bad social skills because they might take it seriously.” Even though she felt light headed and tired, she still felt confident in her insulting skills.

“At the moment, my biggest threat is you so I’m not super concerned.” Nightmare looked at him disgustedly. As they walked to the room she was muttering insults under her breath, still pissed about his comments. When they got there she laid on the bed next to Axel. “Yeah the feeling is mutual. What a d*ck!” Then she turned to look at him, picking up his hand. “Thankfully I only need one man in my life, and he’s right next to me.” She scooted closer to him, wrapping her arms around him as she sighed. “I wish I was in a condition to beat his ass, it makes me pissed how he acted. I’m not an object, thanks.”

Nightmare nodded. “I’m okay. Still feel oddly… lightheaded but I’ll be fine.” She petted Ollie with a small smile as she closed her eyes. It was nice to have a place to just relax and breathe without the terror of being found. “You know,” she said slowly, “I saw a market not far from here. Maybe tomorrow we could go check it out?”

“So if I may ask, when did you end up leaving the village? Because technically we’re both below the legal space age limit for… well basically everything.” She chuckled.

Nightmare sighed. “My story is similar. Got sick of Eduna’s bullsh*t and left but… there was another reason too. When I was younger- before my parents died, my mom used to tell me we were gonna travel the galaxy together. ‘Nightingale,’ she’d tell me, ‘one day we’re going to leave and go touch the stars together.’” Nightmare almost flinched at even speaking the name Nightingale. “That was…” she paused as tears welled in her eyes, “that’s my real name. Obviously our dreams never came to fruition. My mom was the most incredible artist you could ever find. Sometimes we’d sit together and she’d draw, and it felt like you could reach out and snatch the drawing from the paper. I wish I still had some of her drawings but when the Tuskins came they burned everything. So eventually I tried to live out our dream, flying all over and trying to draw everything. Still working on it.”
